The jade landed on the floor, gliding across it until it hit the wall. The both of them, Adrian and the fake tower master stood at a stalemate, waiting for the other to make a move. In one motion Adrian threw something at his opponent and before they could react it started popping like a firecracker, catching the fake tower master off guard. While he was distracted, Adrian ran to the jade, although as he was running towards it he saw his opponent preparing some spell. Deciding it was a better option, he slid towards the jade grabbing it as he heard something impact behind him. Adrian was now at a better angle, if he wanted he could try another throw, the fake and the true tower master were a decent ways apart now due to his earlier distraction. Adrian looked to the left of him, seeing a serrated lance-like object piercing into the wall, it would have to be quick, but he did have an idea, a risky one, but it was an idea nonetheless.
"Fhwoooo!" With Adrian's loud and slightly ear-piercing whistle, he caught both of the tower master's attention just like he hoped. He threw the jade once more at the real one and as it flew, the fake one saw the jade in the air and tried reaching for it, but before they could their force powers something else was thrown into the air, the serrated lance they launched at Adrian. Instead of grabbing the jade like they had hoped, they instead grabbed the lance, causing it to launch at them with incredible speed
"Heh?" The fake tower master moved out the way of the lance, looking back towards where the Jade was heading while shooting their own body up, they hoped to be able to grab the jade just in time, but it was too late, the real tower master had already grabbed it, releasing him from his chains and the wall he was on. Adrian, running over to the real one dodged as much spells as he could, while only getting hit once in his leg, causing slight bleeding and a crimson red to stain in that area.

"Let's call a truce...ay?" Adrian stood by the tower master's side, hoping for a certain response to come from his mouth.
"It seems we have no choice...for now that i-" His voice was slightly weak, but clearly he would be fine. A noise cutting through the air interrupted their conversation but was quickly blocked by the Real Tower Master...more specifically by a wall that looked as though it was contorted colors "If you're going to pretend to be some fake, then at least be strong enough to keep up" The fake one scoffed at the real one's words, although the fake one caught the true one off-guard their skill was clearly vastly apart "Unless you intend to prove me wrong" This side of the Tower Master was one Adrian hasn't ever seen, he was told to be quieter than he is now. Adrian looked behind him, looking at where the Tower Master had previously been chained, something was glowing behind it. He ran over to the glow, hearing different types of magic being used behind him, ignoring it, he pressed his hand against the wall, closing his fist and opening it rapidly causing it to blast open. The glow behind the wall was caused by a lance, one with a similar crystal-like design that the fake one threw at him. He grabbed the lance and looked back at the Two tower Masters and although they looked similar, it was still clear who was who, he could even keep up with the speed at which they were going at. THey were sliding across ice, both throwing these dark-colored spells at each other. Adrian had an idea, he gripped the lance getting ready to throw it, if he threw it directly at the fake one they might catch it, but maybe, maybe if he predicted where they might go. As the fake one leaped into the air, about to land on more ice, Adrian threw the lance causing it to crack, and later shatter as the fake one landed on it.

"I...didn't think it would work!" Adrian's expression showed surprise, standing still as he was registering what he did. Eventually, he snapped out of it and saw the Tower Master walk over and step on the fake one's hand, preventing them from using magic.. Adrian walked over joining both of them.
"Was a clever one...but in the end...you can't mimic someone beyond you..." The tower master, looking down yet slightly at Adrian spoke to him "whatever you came here for. Go ahead and do it, this tower will fall one day regardless" As the true tower master spoke with a calm yet drained tone, looking back at the fake one, making sure he wouldn't move, Adrian picked up the lance, while also looking at the fake lance, the similarity between them was uncanny, even if they were a fake how would they know the design. Adrian walked back towards the fake and real tower master, holding the lance, with his head conflicted.

An Unwavering Craftsman
Given the hereditary nature of classes, everyone expects Damien—the child of two high-tiered adventurers—to be granted a high-tier combat class of his own. Expectations are betrayed, however, when Damien finds himself instead saddled with a crafting class of the lowest possible tier: [Neophyte Tailor]. Left practically crippled compared to those with better classes, Damien wants to avoid becoming a pawn in the machinations of the nobility, desiring only to grind his level in peace while wondering why the usual rules of inheritance were broken. Was it his desire to excel by his own effort, rather than an unearned blessing from a god? Did the Five take offence at his opinions on the unfairness of hereditary classes? Or maybe it was something to do with the alien voice that intruded on his ceremony? A voice that offers great power, and freedom from the tyranny of the Five, but that never names its price. This story is litRPG-lite. While the class someone possesses controls most of their lives, people don't get dinged at for every level they gain, nor can they see their status without undergoing a special ritual. The MC has no romantic interest. Crafting is merely a way to game the system, and doesn't feature heavily in the story, aside from a few descriptions on how they're carrying out the system abuse. There is, on one unfortunate occasion, maths. The pace is quick. This was a participant in the Spring 2022 writathon. (i.e. it was posted as-written at high speed. I may give it another editing pass in the future.)

Directorate: Nationbuilding in Apocalypse
A nation is just a means of survival. Metro Manila fell within 5 months of the first report of cannibalism. Once a hyperurbanized region of 15 million inhabitants, it's been reduced to a dead, greenless shell. Most of the infected had since left to ravage the countryside. The central government was nowhere to be found. Among the survivors who clung to the few gardens and humble plots of arable land left, one of them finds evidence that the slaughter wasn't going to just end with the first wave. Without a nation and a wall of guns, everyone will die. Directorate is an original nationbuilding webnovel that focuses on the gradual rise to power of a select few individuals, and the subsequent unification of the survivors of a devastated Metro Manila.
