《My Batman System》Chapter 12 - Negotiation

Once the vampire hunter arrived, the monsters didn't have the chance to attack the walls. He certainly had a weird way of acting. Perhaps he was too carefree, but his skills spoke for him, and he did his job well, so there were no complaints.
"Phew, that was refreshing," the vampire hunter jumped from the sea of corpses beyond the wall and then landed nearby Jason.
Although he was covered in blood, his body also absorbed that, so eventually, the vampire hunter looked completely fine. Even the blood in his clothes was absorbed. In any case, the guards of the area saluted him, but he just patted them on their back to keep things more relaxed.
"Oh, I know you," The vampire hunter said.
"You are the guy who stayed unconscious for six months and is starting to become famous," The vampire hunter said. "The name is Kyle. Nice to meetcha."
"Hello there, my name is Jason," Jason replied.
"You guys did a good job here," Kyle said while looking at the corpses near the wall. "It is weird that we didn't think that you would become strong the first time we saw you."
"So, you remember," Jason said. "Well, it is fine."
"Is it?" Kyle asked. "Although we made a mistake, we still can correct that. If you want to make more money, you are free to join my group."
"I will consider that if I manage to get stronger, but I guess this is my limit," Jason replied.
"All right, see ya," Kyle said, and then he headed toward the western side of the city.
Kyle truly came from the beach… Even though the building of his organization was supposed to be in the central part of Los Angeles… Nevertheless, Jason couldn't demand anything from him. No one could… Since he saved many lives in one way or the other.

"Somehow… Things ended quite well for us," Mary said.
"How are we going to deal with the bodies of those we defeated?" Jason asked.
"Moving those will take a lot of time, and we need to repair the walls as well, so we should stop the hunt for today," Mary said. "It seems that the other parts of the walls also finished with their defenses, so they will work on this as well. Don't worry. They are a lot more valuable than the giant boars. They are rank one on the Uncommon class, after all."
Jason wasn't sure if that meant much… Since they were at the bottom of that class. Nevertheless, that incident made Jason realize that he still had a long way ahead of him.
As usual, Jason let the meat of the dinosaurs be used as food for the people of the city, but that was much was fine since their bones were the most valuable part of their bodies. Their hide was also pretty durable, but people focused on increasing their attack power since even with high defense, they could be smashed by the T-rexes.
"It looks like I will have to work during the night to process all of this…" Hugo said when he saw the T-rexes arriving on the trucks.
"I can help you, I didn't do much today aside from using Fireballs, so I am not tired," Jason said. "Anyway, for how much do those sell? Can we turn them into weapons?"
"The bones of each t-rex can be sold for around five thousand dollars. The groups that hunt Uncommon ranked monsters use them a lot," Hugo said. "As for turning the bones into weapons, I am not a professional, so I can only make spears and lances. There are people in the other organizations that can use them better. Since you will have to sell them to those guys, you can negotiate with them."

That seemed like a pain, but Jason was thinking of getting a bow as well. While he had a lot more mana now, it was hard to say if hIs single spell would always be useful. Also, bows and arrows are a lot less flashy and silent.
"Won't things get complicated now since an overflow of those materials will be found in the city," Jason asked.
"It will be fine. Those who have super strength use spears like that as projectiles, so they tend to have a stock them," Hugo said. "There is this group that we sell most of our materials, they aren't bad people, but they are a bit hard to deal with. However, the quality of their work is commendable. Do you want to talk with them?"
"I guess so. Preparation is the key now," Jason said.
Jason wanted to ask how those guys would be a problem, but he felt like he would only make problems for himself if he learned about it before meeting them. In the end, Jason helped Hugo for a while, but then he went to sleep since he would have to deal with the negotiation of the bones the next day. He also would skip a day of the hunt, so it couldn't be helped. Also, Jason needed to show himself around the city more often in order to give his family the chance to find him. While everyone knew that he was working with Hugo and Mary, that was supposed to help as well.
The next day, Jason went with Hugo to the headquarters of the group he had mentioned, and he frowned a little when he realized that it was a building pretty close to the tallest building in the easter part of the city… that was Rose's headquarters. The guys from that group probably had some connection with her.
The building was essentially a massive warehouse equipped with heavy machines that were being used to process the materials of the monsters. There were a lot of bones around, and they were pretty big. The guys inside looked pretty focused and busy, so Jason assumed that they could make some decent weapons.
After walking for a while, Hugo and Jason passed by some rooms that looked strangely clean around, considering the work that they were doing. Even though the rest of the warehouse looked like a mess thanks to the trash created during the processing. When they approached the room that they were heading to, a lanky tall guy wearing glasses and a lab coat appeared. He looked like a serious scientist, but then Jason knew that the guy was bad news when he saw numerous paintings and portraits with Rose's face.
