“I need to draw a magical circle with my own blood and pour my mana into it, the skill says I need to put 30 MP into the circle, lets check, I have 35/57 so that’ll leave me with only 5, with the town being right there to rest, that should be easy, Miko you ready!”

I shouted out to Miko, I had finished drawing the magic circle with the finger I pricked with my sword.

“Uhh, uhh, coming!”

Miko rushed over to the circle in a hurry.

“My mana is all in and now we just wait a little and my familiar should be created, did you put all the ingredients in?”

I looked at the magical circle, it was lighting up.

“Yep, the Baby Griffon Fur, the Giant Caterpillar Skin, 1 Green Horned-back Wolf Fur, a lock of my hair, Golden Hornet Exoskeleton, 3 Dungeon Ores, 5 Were-Rabbit Feet, 6 Giant Caterpillar Legs and 2 Giant Caterpillar antennas”

Yep, that sounds…

“WHAT!?”

What the hell did she put in there!? Was anything I wanted in there?

“Uhh, what is it Master Udon?”

Miko scratched her cheek as she looked away from me, she knew she put the wrong materials in there!

“Miko! Didn’t you listen! I said Baby Griffon as the main ingredient, you put, hell, I don’t even know! Did I hear you say a Horned-Back Wolf fur!?And did you say were-rabbit feet!? I said no to any of those ingredient! And why did you put Dungeon Ore in it and a lock of your hair!?”

I shouted at Miko, she was still looking away from me.

“The Baby Griffon fur is in there…”

Miko! I ran to try and grab the materials out of the circle but it was too late, the magical circle gave off a shining green flash and knocked me backwards and then disappeared.

“Arrrr, my eyes”

I rubbed my eyes to regain my vision, I saw an outline of a bunny? No, it has antennas, I think.

“Master Udon”

Miko ran over to me and helped me up.

“Did it work?”

I managed to regain my vision and sitting where the magical circle used to be was.

“So cute!”

Miko ran over and picked up my familia.

“Uhhh, is that a caterpillar?”

In Miko’s arms was a dark green fluffy caterpillar, I think, it had a body of a small bunny but the head and antennas was an anime version of a caterpillar, it had 6 rabbit feet and a darker green coat of fur around its chest and neck, is that a mane? Its eyes were extremely big and lime green, the same colours as its antennas.

“Master Udon, its fluffy but under its fur is a hard exoskeleton!”

Miko couldn’t control her excitement, the exoskeleton must have been from that Golden Hornet.

“Uhh, hello there”

I patted the weird creature on its head.

“Garrrrr”

“Huh!?”

I jumped back startled at the weird purring sound it made.

“Don’t be scared Master Udon, it’s just purring, I think it likes you”

Miko smiled and let out a little giggle as I got startled, so me getting startled is funny!

“You need to name it Master Udon”

Huh? Why did I have to name it? It was just a familiar to help me get through the floor party rule.

“Why? It’s not like it’ll be useful to us”

I explained that to Miko but the weird caterpillar creature put its head down and looked kind of upset.

“Huh? Don’t worry, Master Udon is actually a nice guy, his just very rude, he’ll warm up to you, don’t worry”

Miko spoke to the Caterpillar creature, what does she mean ‘actually a nice guy!?’ And thats the second time someone has called me rude!

“Fine, uhh, Vnaa, the creatures name is Vnaa”

Sensing another pointless argument I named the Caterpillar creature, that seemed to cheer it up, Vnaa looked back at me with a smile and its antennas were waving side to side like a tail. Huh, it is quite cute, I let out a faint smile as Vnaa looked at me.

“Master Udon! Was that a smile!”

Damn it! Miko saw.

“No, you’re seeing things, lets head to town, I need to rest up”

I turned away from the happy Miko and purring Vnaa and headed towards the town not to far from where we were.

“No, you smiled, I saw it, thats the first smile I’ve seen you smile”

“Miko, drop it”

I knew she’d just go on and on about it, if she wasn’t stopped.

“You’re the first one to make Udon smile, I’m jealous, I know you’re going to be special to him”

“What are you talking about? I don’t think Vnaa can understand you”

“Do you want to hold her?”

Miko asked holding Vnaa out.

“Her? How do you know it’s a girl?”

Did she look up Vnaa’s skirt or something?

“I did my appraisal on her and she’s appeared as a party member”

Wait? She has? I looked at the top left corner of my vision.

Vnaa let out that weird purr as Miko rubbed her mane.

“We should get to town quickly, Vnaa is only level 1 after all”

She could very well die out here if we got attacked by any monsters.

Miko stood back up and smiled at me, she seemed very pleased with the creation of Vnaa, but I still didn’t know, if the familiar was only obedient to me then surly it wouldn’t stab me in the back…right?

“Off to town we go!”

Miko walked cheerfully as she held her hands behind her back, she seemed quite happy, she was humming and you could see the joy in her face, we made our way into town. Following the map we walked towards the closest Inn which was right in front of the gate.

“Hello Sir, will you be staying with us tonight?”

The receptionist girl looked at me with a little disgust, that would have been due to the fact I was covered and stained in monster blood, she was a pink haired elf girl, I was wondering how long it would be until I saw one, they look exactly how I would think, pointy ears, light smooth skin and really quite beautiful.

“Yes, we would like 2 single rooms please”

Vnaa can stay with me, I do trust Miko around Vnaa though, she seems quite connected to her, maybe because of that random lock of hair she put in the magical circle.

“Master Udon! How many times have we been over this! We can save money with one room only!”

Damn it, Miko over heard me.

“I know, but, we have Vnaa now and I didn’t want her to keep you up”

Maybe if I could convince her Vnaa was like a baby, she would agree, although, if Vnaa really did scream and cry at night I was going to put her in Miko’s room anyway.

“Master Udon, I appreciate the thought but we will be taking one room with 2 single beds please”

Miko moved past me and approached the elf receptionist.

“Of course, m’am, I can see how hard you are trying, our rooms also come with laundry and bath service”

The elf girl accepted!? And what was she talking about ‘trying so hard?’

“Thank you, come on Master Udon”

Miko grabbed my hand and dragged me up the stairs, the elf waved at Vnaa as we passed her, arrrr, what the hell just happened!?

“2 seperate rooms would have cost us 5 Bronze Bear coins this room only cost us 2, we don’t have that money to waste Master Udon.”

Miko grabbed Vnaa off of me and sat on her bed, I looked at her with my nose scrunched up. Why did she have to make a good point!

“What did you want to do about dinner? We can’t really go out with Vnaa with us?”

Miko asked patting Vnaa, she had a point, sitting in the bar down stairs would bring too much attention to us since we had a fluffy caterpillar.

“Hmm, did you want me to go grab something and bring it up?”

That was probably our best option, when I think about it, I had missed lunch a handful of times since coming here, I only had some bread for breakfast and whatever the inn was serving for dinner, I should unlock the cooking skill soon.

“I’ll go grab us some food from the bar down stairs you stay up here with Vnaa, I know you don’t like to be around people and they might see your gem as well”

Miko placed Vnaa on the bed and came over to my bed and sat next to me.

“Uhh, what are you doing”

Miko just stared at me, was she using her appraisal skill for some reason?

“Nothing, you just seem a little more, relaxed, thats all, you also stood up for me when we were looking at those summoning crystals”

Relaxed? I think you mean exhausted.

“I’m tired, not relaxed, and for the crystal incident, I didn’t want the town guard on us thats all, here 1 Silver Shark Coin should handle it, grab something for Vnaa as well please.”

I grabbed a Silver Shark coin from my back pocket and handed it to Miko.

“Oh, uhh, got it, and Master Udon, you just said please, I think you are pretty relaxed”

Miko got up quickly and exited the room. Damn that Bee! She knew how to push my buttons! Did I really just say please? Arrrr, I’m too tired to think about this.

Miko came back with three plates of food and 7 Bronze Bear Coins, we had the same stew we’ve had on the other floors, while Miko fed Vnaa some vegetables and cooked unicorn rabbit pieces. We finished dinner and put our clothes in the laundry basket and left them outside our room as the instructions mentioned, I wasn’t worried about our clothes getting stolen since they were only normal clothes, and than we went to sleep, Vnaa ended up sleeping next to Miko while I had my bed to myself.
