《The Awakened One, Book 1: Remnant》Chapter 13: A Night in Vale

(Y/N) sprinted his way down the various curves and spirals of the road that connected Beacon and Vale’s main city. While he ran, he was sorting through some of the new things he learned while on his trip to Vale. “I can’t fuckin believe it! If Velvet is a confirmed person in Remnant, and she is going to Beacon, then this world might be more like the one that I know then I originally thought. And since that was Velvet, the driver chick was probably Coco! I mean she looked familiar, but I didn’t think anything special of it. Shit, I should’ve observed them just to check and make sure it was them. Not that its really that serious, more importantly though is the fact that the characters in the show are here. And if that’s the case, then the events of the series may still take place, and if that’s so, I have a massive edge over everyone else. Nice.” As he finished analyzing the most important piece of information he learned today, he flew out of the Gated entrance, and into the city.

Now that he was on his own, with Byakko of course, he started the early stages of his plan. He began by opening the System Forge intent on creating something that would help immensely with his plan, “Meta, can I make any item in the Forge as long as I have an idea and the materials to create it?”

[Yes! You can do it manually or ask Meta to do it for you! The choice is yours.]

“Well, since you volunteered, do you think you could help me make some business cards? Like some Persona 5 calling cards that I can customize to my specifications.”

[That’s a breeze! What materials would you like to use?]

“What materials can I use, I mean all I have are Dust crystals and Beowolf remains. I would rather not use my Dust for something as simple as this, and I don’t think that bones can be used to create something like this.”

[They can! Would you like to combine Beowolf Claws together and transform them into a usable raw material?]

“Hell yeah! Can you turn them all into the material? I doubt there is any other use for it.”

[Of course!]

Beowolf Material Obtained!

“Alright, let’s make these business cards then.” (Y/N) went through multiple different designs, and fonts for the calling card, settling on one that looked particularly intimidating. The card had a void black background that absorbed all the light it encountered. Across the card were white fractures that shattered across the surfaces, both front and back, of the card. The words created an incredibly sinister Vibe with every monstrous accent of the blood red words. The words were written in a beastly font that accentuated every corner and angle with unbelievable sharpness that borderline cut the eyes as someone read the letter. Each of the letters dripped with blood red words, creating a deadly sinister energy that radiated off the palm sized card. The material was incredibly tough and thick, it made the card hard as bone and gave it an indestructible vibe. The edges of the card were sharp, cutting easily into the skin of an unsuspecting reader. On the back of the card was a demonic icon, depicting an Japanese Oni mask with horns jutting from the tops of its head, and two Katanas crossing paths behind its head. It is red in color, with geometric shapes littering the space behind it. On the card, it appeared three dimensional, jumping off the card threating anyone who saw it.

Putting this all together created an intense aura of ‘Don’t Fuck With Me.’ “Anyone who reads this shit is gonna be shook! Just by the design alone, they are going to have to take this shit seriously.”

(Y/N) put the finishing touches on the calling card, by writing the following message,

‘I AM COMING

No harm will come to you if you do as I say:

Prepare an enormous amount of Dust, Vials, Crystals all of it Count that inventory and prepare a retail Cost for all MY Dust DO NOT contact any law enforcement agency, or you will be Punished Accordingly

You have one Week

Abiding by my Rules will bring you fortune beyond belief, but Death comes to those that Refuse

Choose Wisely,

-The Grimm Reaper'

“Perfect! Now, time to mass produce these bitches.” (Y/N) created hundreds of the cards, one for each of the many Dust shops he spotted in his escapades with Nix and Neyah. Then he did the easy part, going store by store, he placed the cards in important unmissable spots in the stores. Surprisingly sneaking into the stores was extremely easy, for most of them he didn’t even have to teleport inside. The doors locks and security systems were all wired and powered by dust, and worked by detecting Aura in an intruder, and (Y/N)’s Aura wasn’t detectable for whatever reason. It was incredibly late at night, approximately 3am, and most of the stores were closed which gave him easy access to the empty buildings. He only found one that was still open, a 24-hour dust shop partly hidden in the cut of an alleyway. For this shop, he just simply walked in, feigned interest in the products of the shop, and threw the card with spectacular accuracy into the back area of the shop. After that, he just walked out completely unnoticed by the employees.

“Now that that’s done, what do you think we should do Byakko?” The adorable tiger cub responded with an excited Mwrah and in (Y/N)’s interpretation, it roughly translated to ‘Kill some Shit!’ The cubs master smiled at her, “that’s exactly what I was thinking! Let’s see what we can fuck up around here.” Re-opening his mental map, he looked around the city surprised to see a metric fuck ton of Dungeons littering the city. As he zoomed out further, he noticed that even Beacon had a sizable number of Dungeons around its premises. “Well, it looks like were never gonna run out of shit to do here Byakko. How about we start…” he looked around the map, looking for a starting point, “in the west. We can go from left to right, one by one clearing all the dungeons in Vale, and then doing all the ones in Beacon, and then going somewhere else to do all those dungeons. There aren’t many on each continent, and they are only concentrated in each of the major cities so it should be do able. How about it?” Byakko nodded her head in affirmation.

After the decision was made, the duo made their way to the northwest of Vale to begin their clearing of all the dungeons in Vale. Byakko and (Y/N) snuck through the sleeping City of Vale, weaving their way through alley ways and roof tops trying to get to their destination. It didn’t take much time before they made it to the first dungeon they would be conquering in Vale, they found this dungeon in the middle of a large private seaside property owned by, probably, someone rich. In fact, the entire Northwestern side of Vale was rich, lots of big houses, expensive looking vehicles, and extremely decorate streets and buildings. The most massive of these homes were the ones on the beach side, each one owning a section of beach that was completely reserved for the owners. The dungeon was on one of these expensive properties, and both (Y/N) and Byakko easily snuck onto these properties unnoticed.

They approached the dungeon and he put his hand to the red dimensional rift that hovered in the air. The instant he contacted the portal a familiar message appeared.

Dungeon: Vale’s Upper-Class Grimm

Recommended Level: 3

Are you sure you want to enter?

Y/N

“What’s up with these dungeons? It seems like most of the Grimm outside of the first Dungeon I completed are low level which changes my plans a bit.” (Y/N) put his hand to his chin in a thinking pose, he thought for a moment before continuing his talk with Byakko. “Ok girly, there has been a small change of plans.” Byakko’s head tilted slightly at his statement, waiting patiently for her masters’ words. “Before we were just going to go and complete these Dungeons acquiring as much experience as possible, but we aren’t going to get much because of how weak our opponents are. So instead, we are going to do some skill grinding. What that means is, we are going to try to keep our opponents alive as long as possible while killing them in as many different ways as we can think of. Since we share the same System, you should be able to get new skills using this strategy as well. This’ll finally give me time to try out True Mana Manipulation to make some new INT based skills. Last but not least, if you ever begin stagnating and are not getting anymore new skills, try to level up the ones you already have by using them repeatedly. Did you get all that?” Byakko’s Mwrah was loud and sounded excitedly affirmative about his instructions. “Alright, lets get up in this dungeon and gain some new skills!”

Good Luck!

(Y/N) and Byakko entered the Dungeon and immediately took a look at their surroundings taking in the environment that they were going to have to fight in. Surprisingly, the Dungeon looked as if it was taking place outside in an alternate version of Vale. It was still nighttime, so the sky was black, but surrounding them were lit buildings that provided visibility to the place. Speaking of the buildings, they were extremely tall, actually they were infinitely tall. The buildings grew infinitely into the sky, providing various barriers to them spatially. This factor alone turned the Dungeon from an open city to a winding maze filled with Grimm around each corner. (Y/N) opened his map and scanned the open Dungeon for information.

He found that this dungeon was far more open ended than his first, the various twists and turns that followed the many streets and alleys led to a ton of different areas, treasure rooms, and enemies. There was however a single blacked out area in the center of the maze, and he instantly recognized it as the boss room. He stowed all of this information into the back of his mind and looked over to Byakko, “lets go! Remember, they are incredibly weak so try not to use anything to strong against them or else you’ll accidentally kill more than intended.” The cute cub nodded in affirmation, but as soon as they began walking, (Y/N) suddenly remember something. “Oh shit, I completely forgot!” (Y/N) opened up his System Inventory and began sorting through the items he had, looking for something. After a moment of searching, he closed the menu holding some objects in his hand. “These are for you.” Byakko’s jaw opened, and her tongue fell from her mouth. This reaction was caused by the 8 Alpha Beowolf cores that (Y/N) held in his hands. He took one step closer to Byakko and placed all 8 cores down in front of her. The instant the first core hit the ground, Byakko scooped the core into her wide jaws and shattered it in her strong jaws with the sound of shattering glass. After the first, she continued until all 8 of the cores had been eaten.

| Byakko |

Grimm Assimilation Rate (85.79%)

(Y/N) was slightly surprised at how much the Assimilation Rate had increased with only 8 Alpha Grimm Cores, but it made some sense. He considered how many masks it took for him to actually acquire that many Alpha cores and the fact that he only got one from his first Dungeon. Using that info, he was able to justify the increase to Byakko’s Assimilation, but either way he was happy with the development. “Ok now we can actually go.”

The Duo began walking the streets of distorted Vale with (Y/N) leading the way with his map. It didn’t take any time at all to run into their first opponent. It was a single lone Beowolf that stood in the center of a narrow alley way, protecting the treasure chest that lay in the dead end behind it.

“Interesting. Grimm in Remnant don’t have either Aura or Mana, but in these Dungeons, they have mana. Maybe its some kind of System specific thing.” He disregarded his thought for a moment, as he prepared to kill this Grimm in a new and interesting way. He decided to begin with something simple and he began coating his fist in mana before he charged at the Beowolf. Obviously, the Grimm saw the man charging at it and it lunged at the man hoping to slice him with its claws. However, the man disappeared in a streak of red, appearing behind the unsuspecting Grimm. (Y/N)’s mana driven fist drove itself into the back of the weak Beowolf, sending it soaring into a building.

“Trash, but better than nothing I guess.” Turning to his adorable cub, he came with a new suggestion to the girl. “Byakko, these Grimm are too weak, and we are barely going to get anything if we slow around when conquering them. I enjoy your company, and I want to continue exploring this world together with you, but it would be optimal if we separated to conquer more ground, and after we kill and loot everything, we can regroup at the boss room. The choice is up to you, do you want to split up, or take turns fighting each Grimm we come across?” Byakko responded surprisingly quickly with a cute Roar, showing that she wanted to go off on her own. (Y/N) sensed that she was appreciating the trust that her master had in her, and she wanted to go off on her own to prove her strength and loyalty to her master.

“Ok we’ll split up. If you ever get into any trouble, I’ll be there in an instant and never bite off more than you can chew. Other than that, the dungeon is your play pen, you are free to do as you wish.” The duo walked together back to the main street where they originally entered the dungeon, before separating down different paths to takeout Grimm, and gain some new abilities.

Going through the roads of the distorted city, (Y/N) came across a bunch of Beowolves, none of which were above level 3 which supported his decision to separate. Even in his owns encounters he could still here Byakko’s attacks being activated and demolishing the dungeons environment. “I thought I told her to chill on the power of the Skills. Well… maybe this is her holding back.” He shivered slightly at the thought, mentally thanking his luck for allowing Byakko to be his companion. Focusing back on his grinding, he was eliminating the Grimm that he came across trying to create more STR oriented skills because he figured that any magical skills could be made at any time, while it helped to be in a physical combat scenario when creating physical skills.

As he went from red arrow to red arrow, he collected all the treasure he saw on the map and what he collected was disheartening. Most of the things in the chests were normal Beowolf drops like masks, claws, and bones. As he was approaching the area furthest west from the center of the city-wide maze, he hadn’t gotten a single Dust related item and he only got pennies worth of AUB. He was honestly hoping for something useful in this final treasure area before he met back up with Byakko at the boss room. This treasure room had three different chests inside it, all of which were sitting in the center of the room in a triangular formation. The map showed no enemies, but it was obvious to (Y/N) that there were four ‘new’ Grimm types waiting to ambush him. He of course just walked into the room confidently and activated the ambushing Grimm. As soon as he stepped in the proximity of the ambush, 4 flying Grimm swooped in trying to peck at him.

(Y/N) easily dodge out of the way of the 4 bird Grimm, stepping back to think of a way to deal with these flying enemies. These Grimm showed a bit of intelligence, as they flew high into the air refusing to approach him. Instead, they began shooting their feathers at him. These black feathers flew at him surprisingly quick, and they acted similarly to arrows in their flight patterns, but they were more like needles in their impact. (Y/N) used his fist to deflect any feathers that got close to him, and then he decided to go on the offensive. Using his incredible physicality, he closed the ground distance quickly with his dash, and then he jumped into the air to kill the closest Nevermore to him. The first bird had no chance as the human approached its aerial position too fast for it to react. (Y/N) grabbed on to the neck of the bird Grimm tightly, he then quickly shifted his center of gravity to bring the Grimm below him. As (Y/N) began losing his rising momentum, he held the Nevermore’s neck and skull in both of his hands and he slammed the beast against the ground. On impact, the pale white skull of the Nevermore shattered against the paved road, making the Grimm poof into black shadows that dissipated as (Y/N) stood back up.

As soon as he recovered, he went right back into the fray. A quick dash and a leap put him back on top of another Nevermore, this time he flipped himself upside down as he jumped into the air. Using his legs, he grasped onto the body of a flying Grimm. He then quickly tucked his legs in, pulling the Grimm deeper into his hold and as they descended, he used his momentum to flip himself and the Grimm in the air. The gained speed from the flipping allowed (Y/N) to slam the Nevermore onto its skull as they completed the flips second revolution.

Weak Point! {7566 DMG!}

Nevermore (Lvl: 2) has been defeated!

As the second dead Nevermore started to disappear in a smoke of black, the last two Grimm had finished recharging their needle feather attack and they began flying higher into the air trying to get out of (Y/N)’s jumping range. They flew extremely high, but (Y/N) was able to jump high and catch one of the risings Nevermore before it got out of his range. As he reached the Grimm, instead of attempting a new attack, he jumped off its back to gain even more height. This ‘double jump’ sent him far higher than the two flying Grimm, so he adjusted accordingly. As he began falling, he changed his position, so he was falling headfirst, and he put his fist out in front of his falling form. As he began crashing towards the ground, his spear like fist smashed against both Nevermores. They shot towards the ground like a Meteorite smashing against the ground forming a massive crater where they impacted the floor.

Looking at the items he received, he was disappointed to say the least. The shit in this dungeon was barely even worth his time. If he didn’t have no need for sleep then he wouldn’t go out of his way to conquer these dungeons, but since this time is free, he felt like he may as well do something productive with it. These were the thoughts that swirled through his head as he ran briskly to the center of the Dungeon to meet up with Byakko.

As he turned a corner, he saw the small cub curled up grooming herself at the entrance to the Boss room. “Hey Byakko! How did your hunting go?” After noticing her master, he tails began wagging uncontrollably and she leaped into his arms making all sorts of happy sounds. “I missed you to girl” he whispered to her as he pets her head. Byakko took a moment to absorb the heat that her master’s body let off before responding. Byakko’s mwrah’s roughly translated to ‘I learned a lot! But I didn’t get many items that you wanted’ as she said the last bit, her mood dampened slightly. “That’s good! I didn’t get anything good either so its ok that you didn’t. I’m proud that you were able to create so many new skills!” He reassured the tiger cub, gently petting her body. “Do you think you could show me your skills on this boss?” Byakko mwrahed in affirmation and the two of them pushed open the door to the boss.

(Y/N) quickly said yes to the cautionary message and walked into the boss room. The room was essentially an extension of the Vale environment, as the room depicted a slightly distorted version of the city’s square. The room was smaller than the square, but the buildings still appeared to reach infinity towards the sky. In the center of the room was an Alpha Beowolf, like the one that he fought in his first dungeon. Except, this one was smaller and less vicious looking.

“Alright Byakko, this fight is yours. I'll be back here watching so if you ever need help just lemme know.” The cute cub turned her head to face her master, she shook her head in understanding before turning back to the Beowolf. Her face took on an aggressive glare and she began growling and flashing her fangs at the Beowolf. The Grimm flinched back slightly at the aggression that Byakko showed him, clearly fear stricken at Byakko’s glare. The glaring tiger’s form then began sparking with blue electricity that coursed throughout her body. Every passing moment these sparks continued until her entire form was engulfed in blue lightning. After the charge was completed, she rushed forward at the Alpha at a speed that it was unable to react to. As she approached, she raised her claws and slashed them at the Beowolf. Eve though Byakko was much smaller than her opponent, the gash that her claws left in the body of the Alpha were extremely large and spanned from its head to its feet. At the impact of the slash, the Alpha Beowolf soared through the air, crashing into the buildings behind it. Blue lightning still coursed through Byakko’s form as she prepped her next attack. She opened her jaws and green energy was absorbed into her jaws. This Mana was then compressed into a ball of wind mana that she shot from her mouth at the place where the Alpha crash landed. As soon as the wind ball impacted the laying Grimm, the wind exploded in all directions, swirling into wind blades that eviscerated the former Alpha Beowolf.

Byakko Defeated Dungeon Master Alpha Werewolf (Lvl 5)!

(Y/N) looked at Byakko in surprise, clearly impressed by her showing of strength. “Damn Byakko has some interesting abilities. This is the second time I’ve seen her in action, so I am confident when assuming that she uses mostly wind and lightning-based attacks. Her glare wasn’t normal, I think it might’ve inflicted fear on the Beowolf, maybe even a speed or defense debuff as well. That first skill she used to cloak herself in lightning increased her speed and strength, while also adding a lightning affinity to her attacks. I know that because of the lack of additional mana I sensed from her claw slash thingy. The wind ball on the other hand was similar to the fireball the Behemoth used on me back before I awakened. The initial impact seemed strong enough, but that wind blade after affect was strong as well. She killed the Grimm in only two attacks and she’s only getting stronger, plus she has a ton more skills that I haven’t seen yet. Nice.” (Y/N) exited his mind as the incredibly strong Byakko bounded her way back towards her master, sitting herself down in front of his feet. She stared up at him, tail wagging uncontrollably back and forth, waiting for his assessment of her ability.

(Y/N) crouched down so that he was eye to eye with his adorable companion, “You did a phenomenal job! You are absolutely incredible, and I only got to see three of your skills! I can’t wait to see what you attain next.” He placed his hand onto her head and gently stroked his hand back and forth causing the girl to purr into his gesture. The tiger cub Mwrahed slightly as she purred deeply into his hand. As she did, (Y/N) received an interesting notification from the System.

Byakko would like to give you a Gift, do you accept?

Y/N

“Uhm, yes.”

Byakko’s Gift: +1 Alpha Beowolf Grimm Masks| +1 Beowolf Grimm Core | +9 Beowolf Grimm Masks | +5 Nevermore Grimm Masks | +1 Yellow Powdered Dust Vial | +15 AUB

“Byakko, is this the stuff you got while hunting in the Dungeon?” The tiger cub nodded her head in affirmation. “Wow, thanks! I'll see what I can do with these items, maybe we can make you some more Grimm snacks to help with that Assimilation Rate.” Byakko looked very happy with what her master said, and after their small talk the two of them walked towards the pure white rift in the center of the Square. As they entered through the white portal, they exited the dungeon and entered back into the night of Vale.

“Now that we know how strong/weak the Dungeons in this area are, how about we take care of as many as we can before 6am. It's still only 3:00 so we have quite a bit of time to grind before the sun comes up.” Byakko was clearly still up for a fight, and with that knowledge the duo sneakily made their way to another dungeon in the area. It was titled the same as the last and had the same recommended level as well. So, they walked into the Dungeon without much caution.

The interior of this one was the same design as the previous, except the layout of the maze was different. This was obviously expected and the two split off yet again, creatively killing all the Grimm, looting all the chest, and learning all that they could from each encounter. They met back at the boss room, and inside Byakko demolished yet another Alpha Grimm showing off different skills than before. They exited this Dungeon and then went to another one, doing the same thing as the previous two.

They continued their path of Dungeon conquering until the sun began creeping over the horizon. They had utterly decimated the Dungeons in the upper-class area, leaving only a single Dungeon remaining. This dungeon however was special, as it only appeared once all the other dungeons in the area were completed. (Y/N) and Byakko were poised and ready to enter the new Dungeon, but the rising sun turned (Y/N)’s attention to his internal clock. “Byakko, it’s about time to start heading back to Beacon. Aw don’t look at me with that sad look, I want to continue killing Grimm just as much as you do, but if were not back at 6 sharp Neyah and Nix will murder me. And it’s probably like 5:54am right now so I’d rather not push it. Don’t worry though, this will not be the last of our nighttime Vale escapades, this may become a nightly thing. Depending on, of course, our ability to sneak out of Nix and Neyah’s room at night, but that’s a problem for future me.”

At his short explanation, he scooped up Byakko in his arms and began traveling back towards Beacon. Although they only had approximately three hours to grind and the Grimm were abysmally weak in comparison to them, Byakko and, surprisingly, (Y/N) had still grown considerably in strength, while gaining some decent loot.

During this grinding, (Y/N) was able to confirm a suspicion that he had ever since he had first met Byakko. This suspicion was something he called the ‘Growth Rate’ of a person or thing. He called it the growth rate because it is a number that determined how many total Attribute points are acquired when someone levels up, and what Attributes they are distributed in. For example, while paying close attention to Byakko’s level and how her AP increased each level, he found her Growth Rate to be 50, which he thinks is high seeing how weak their opponents’ stats are. His own growth rate, however, was at an astonishing 122 AP per level. He found this extremely important because, he believes, that this is what determines how long it takes a person to level up. This is why he figures that Byakko leveled up so much more than he did even though they killed, pretty much, the same number of enemies. Looking over Byakko’s growth, he found that she had gotten a lot stronger just from leveling up and adding the fact that she doesn’t have the same insanely strong items that he does, her strength is formidable even when compared to his own, at least base to base. Examining his own growth, he found that he had grown immensely stronger just from leveling up twice. However, he thinks that most of his growth came from the vast number of skills he gained, fused, and leveled up. As he ran to the academy with Byakko in his arms, he recounted the skills he obtained.

“Using Speed Demon, Devil’s Step, and Mana Punch really ended up helping a lot in the end. Now I can use Speed Demon twice before the cost skyrockets and Speed Demon increases my DEX even more than it did before. Mana Strike is useful now that I can coat any physical attacks in additional mana to do more damage, and I got my Pay Rate to level two which unlocked Time and a Half which’ll be useful later. The most interesting of these skills that I got tonight was Double Jump, which leveled up into Triple jump. I even ended up with a ton of Grimm materials that I need to upgrade to see if I can get Byakko’s Assimilation rate to 100%, but we can worry about most of that tomorrow. After all this’ll probably be our last week to just chill before the plan really begins.” These kinds of thoughts ran rampant through his mind as he ran towards the entrance to Beacon with Byakko still comfortably sitting in his arms. After thinking a bit more about his idea, he came to the conclusion that he still needed to make a few more items before the end of the week, but before he could finish finalizing the list of things he needed, Byakko alerted him that they were at the entrance to the Campus.

“Thanks for the heads up, Byakko!” He thanked the adorable cub as he rushed through the gates of the path leading up to the extravagant academy. There was an enormous amount of people at the foot of the mountain that led to the Academy, all of them were waiting for transportation services to take them up the mountain. However, none of them noticed as a (F/C) blurr sprinted past them, running up the mountain at an insane speed. All they felt was an enormous gust of wind suddenly whip up out of nowhere, confusing some of the civilians with other Huntsman and woman taking notice of the unnatural occurrence.

As (Y/N) ran up the mountain side, he flew passed cars, occasionally jumping on top of a few when he had no other way of continuing his climb to the top. As he reached the summit of the mountain, he slowed his speed to a leisurely jogging pace as he weaved his way through the groups of people waiting in line to be barred entrance into Beacon. The small building that he was in before, where he met Velvet, was filled to the brim with people. The Line alone snaked along the inside of every square foot of the building, and into the outside where tons of people waited to be let in. The wildest part to (Y/N) was the fact that the sun had just begun peaking over the horizon and there was already this many people at the place. “How the fuck am I supposed to get in?” Was the most important thought on his mind as he stared at the endless line leading to Velvet who had his visitors pass waiting for him. “I could just teleport in, but that’s not a very good look. Even if I am a bit late, they’ll understand right? Probably not. Ugh.” He let out a small exhale in frustration at his current situation and he grumbled under his breath, figuring his only choice was to fight through the line till he saw Velvet.

He was about to start pushing people out his way when he suddenly heard a cutesy, but familiar, voice calling his name. The voice was coming from the closed gate where a bunch of Huntsman and woman were standing guard at the entrance. Looking over, the first thing he noticed was two long bunny ears bouncing up and down over the crowd of people. “(Y/N)! (Y/N)! Over here!” He weaved his way through the crowd and made his way over to the bouncing ears. Next to the gates entrance he found the girl that was calling out to him, it was of course Velvet. Next to the bouncing girl was the other Rwby girl that he remembered, her name was Coco, and she was the same girl that drove them up to the Academy like 3 hours prior. “Hey!” Velvet yelled as she ran up to (Y/N), her friend following slowly behind her. “You are right on time sir! The gates are about to open in a minute. Here is your visitors pass.” Velvet handed the shiny green and black metallic card to (Y/N), and he hung the pass around his neck.

He looked at the girl for a moment, taking in her full form before speaking, “Thank you so much Vel, I appreciate the help” he thanked the girl with a warm smile. “Honestly I got a little nervous because I thought you were stuck behind the desk, and I would have to sit in that long ass line.” He said while laughing slightly at the thought.

Velvet shook her head furiously one, to confirm that she was not supposed to be behind the desk, and two, to shake the blush off her face at being thanked and given a nick name by the Adonis. “No, no, no, I was just doing what I could to help, the thank you isn’t necessary. Also, my shift ended at 5:30am so I wasn’t supposed to remain behind the desk. I should’ve told you that! I’m sorry!”

“It’s not that serious Vel, so there is no reason to apologize. And plus, you are amazing for even making this pass for me this early, and you even waited here past your shift. You are too kind to me.” Instead of Velvet responding, the girl next to her did.

“Yeah Velvet, you are a little too kind.” Coco began eying up (Y/N), sizing him up, and trying to find an ounce of malice in his words. “I gotta say, your description of him was spot on. Attractive, strong, kinda rich looking, animal lover, kind, and exceptionally attractive.”

Velvet face grew even redder as she listened to Coco speak, “You didn’t have to say attractive twice!”

Coco continued, “I can’t really tell whether or not you have any alternative motives for talking to my Velvet, so I’ll ask you out right. Are you really this nice? Or do you want something from my Bunny girl?”

(Y/N) was left unsure on how to respond. He didn’t have an alternative motive for talking to her but saying that he is a nice person just sounds like an incredibly weird thing to say aloud. So, he went with his gut, “nah I don’t have any malicious intent with your bunny girl. I just came up here with my girls and she helped us out a ton. I always repay a kindness with a kindness so if Vel ever needs anything from me I got her without question. Same goes for you miss, you are the one that drove us up here last night.” He responded honestly, and it seems like that resonated well with Coco.

“Good answer. Don’t call me miss though, I hate overly polite titles like that. Call me by my name, Coco Adel, just Coco is fine.”

“Its nice to meet you Coco, I’m (Y/N) (L/N), just (Y/N) is fine.” Coco chuckled slightly at the joke and reached her hand out to shake his hand. He reciprocated the action and just like that, (Y/N) and Coco met on friendly terms.

Velvet smiled ear to ear as she watched the two of them converse, but she brought them back to reality by saying, “(Y/N) the gates are ready to open when you are! We were just about to walk to our dorm so, if you would like, we can point you in the right direction.”

(Y/N) took his eyes off Coco and turned to Velvet smiling at her proposal, “Hell yeah that would be a fantastic help if you guys don’t mind.”

Coco responded to his comment, “of course we don’t mind. Follow us, we’ll show you around for a bit.” After Coco spoke, the Gate entrance leading into Beacon opened and allowed the group inside. Coco and Velvet helped him out tremendously, pointing out important facilities, housing areas, and rules and norms to upkeep on the campus. About halfway to the temp dorms, they split off in different directions, with (Y/N) thanking them for their assistance. The CFVY duo pointed him in the right direction and sent him on his way towards Nix and Neyah. While the directions definitely helped, he mainly used his mental map as he sprinted his way to their temp room.

As he reached the building, he made his way onto their floor and searched for their door. After finding it, he stood in front of the door for a half moment. “Oh shit, please don’t be too mad im like 3 minutes late.” As he said his mental prayer, he knocked softly on the door.

He stood at the door for a moment waiting for a response and he didn’t have to wait long. The door suddenly flew open and behind the door was both of his lovers, Nix and Neyah. Nix spoke up first, “BABE!” She yelled while jumping onto him, wrapping her arms around his neck in a warm embrace. Byakko had to leap out of his arms at the surprise attack and Nix began rubbing her face around his chest taking in his comforting scent with each breath.

Neyah on the other hand was oddly quiet and she slowly walked up to (Y/N) and placed her hand on his shoulder. She then gripped his jacket tightly and looked him directly in his eyes. As she stared into his eyes, she only managed to groan out one word, “Sleeeeeeeeeeppppppp” and in that instant he understood everything.

These two beautiful women were completely unable to go to sleep without him acting as their cuddle buddy. With that knowledge, he lifted them up with each of his arms and carried them to the bed nearest to the door. When he reached the bed, he collapsed onto the soft bed with both girls still in his arms and as soon as they touched the sheets, Nix and Neyah cuddled comfortably into his body and immediately fell asleep.
