《The Awakened One, Book 1: Remnant》Chapter 10: A Chance Encounter

At his question, his newest companion responded with a loud Mwrah Mwrah! For whatever reason to (Y/N) this meant ‘wherever you wanna go’ and since that’s all he had to go off of he took that as her answer.

“Ok so we have Byakko’s answer, how about you Meta, do you have any recommendations?”

[Meta has no idea! Do what you think is best!]

“Do what I think is best.” He mulled the thought over slightly, simultaneously pulling up the system map function. He looked at the map scrolling around trying to find any other interesting structures or monuments to travel to. As he resized the map, zooming further and further out, he realized the true size of the continent he was on. On the map, it was the clear largest continent in this world, it looked as if it took up about a third of all the land space. The place where he was located was in the north-eastern hemisphere of the continent. The closest geographical structure to him was a mountain covered in snow and on this mountain, he saw, what looked like, the icon of a city. The biggest city icon on the continent was north-west of this one, and it looked a little bit different than the other one. The icon closest to him was black in color with a red outline showing off a lot of hostility even on the map. The other city however was green in color with a black outline, and was much larger, but it was further away. Seeing no real reason not to, he made his decision on where to go next. “Since you guys don’t really seem to care where we go, I have decided we’ll check out this red, fallen, city thingy. Are there any objections?” Byakko shook her head rapidly as a no, and Meta responded quickly with a resounding ‘No!’ And with that the decision was made. “Alright! Up the mountains we go.” Turning back around to the cliff where he exited his first dungeon, he walked up to the massive edge.

The cliff was tall, like very tall, it looked almost like the summit of the mountain had a massive sudden drop off leading all the way down to sea level. All this meant to (Y/N) was that if he could climb the cliffside, it would be a shortcut to the top. “Hey Byakko, you think you can climb this cliff without help? Do you want me to carry you?” In response, the adorable cub sprinted at the cliff, and leaped high up onto one of its ridges. From this position she leapt from ridge to ridge, climbing the cliffside at a rapid pace. Byakko needed barely any footing to keep her grip on the mountain side, so climbing this was as easy as walking. “Clearly you need no help” (Y/N) said with a smile. “But let me show you some true masterful ‘climbing’ technique! Speed Demon.” With his accelerated speed, and the AP he got from leveling, (Y/N)’s body began moving at a speed even he didn’t expect. He instantly reached the cliffside and jumped straight up, before maneuvering his body so he was parallel with the cliff. As soon as his right foot touched the cliff, he shot off that foot jumping higher up the cliff. At the pace he was going, he would pass Byakko easily, so he ran up to the girl and smoothly scooped her in his arms as he sprinted not climbed but sprinted his way up the mountain side. Reaching the top was nothing, as he made it all the way up in a matter of minutes. With each step up the cliff he got a better footing allowing him to run even faster than before, and since Speed demon didn’t have a time limit, his speed never let up. After leaping up the last bit of the cliffs edge, he landed softly on the ground with Byakko still curled up in his arms.

“We made it!” With that declaration he tried to let go of the White Tiger, but she refused to let go of him. For a moment (Y/N) considered explaining the reasons she should probably let go, but he then decides against it. Instead, he chose to carry her as he ‘walked’ south-westerly towards the ruined city. Using this time as an opportunity to introspect again, he opened the system map again in his mind. “The dungeon locations are incredibly inconsistent, and surface level treasure is literally nonexistent. There is a good number of small settlements here and there, but as far as big cities go there are only a handful. I wonder what’s going on in this world that made some shit like that happen? And the dungeon placements are very sparse. I was kind of lucky that I found a dungeon so close to where I spawned in. The dungeons seem to clump together in the big cities, but in mass open space they are nowhere to be seen, weird.” As he approached the settlement, he noticed something very concerning on the map. Numerous red arrows were scattered across the map, but that wasn’t what was concerning, all of them were facing the same direction and were converging on the same position.

Two blue arrows were back-to-back, facing the massive horde that was converging on them. “Oh shit! Byakko we may need to fight soon so Imma need you to prep for a fight!” (Y/N) turned up his speed, sprinting towards the battlefield while monitoring their condition via the mini map. The beast started moving in one by one, however the two were somehow managing to fight back as the red arrows that jumped in soon disappeared from the map. But every time they destroyed one, two more would attack in their place. (Y/N) then came to a sudden realization, and a look of concern crossed his face, “Will Byakko be strong enough to handle these guys?” The girl in question seemed to sense his concern and reassured him with a fierce hiss trying to show her strength, but it was not enough to curb his doubts. He had just met her, but he was already deeply connected to her, the last thing he wanted to see happen is Byakko getting hurt. He briefly considered telling her to stay out of the fight, but then he remembered something crucial. “Meta! Let me allocate my EX AP to Byakko.”

“Alright you should more than strong enough now Byakko! Let’s hurry up because I think some people are in danger.”

In the ruined city, two individuals were in a losing battle for their lives. The setting of this battle was a broken down, collapsing, abandoned city that was littered with Grimm. Collapsing buildings were all around them, and the only natural landscape in the area was a tall cliff that bordered the west side of the city, trapping them further inside the abandoned city. The enemies that attacked them felt considerably weaker than them, but the amount of them continued to increase and the waves of Grimm were relentless in their attack. “Nix what the fuck do we do!” The woman out in front yelled angrily. Even as she asked the question, she continued to attack the relentless Beowolves with her Dual edged spear, cutting them down instantly. The girl behind her, Nix, too a second to respond as she was busy shooting down the numerous bird Grimm that attacked them from the air.

“I apologize sister, but I cannot seem to find a path to escape! The Grimm are far too numerous!” The attacking Grimm did not let up for a second, as the entire horde continued to move in on the duo. As soon as the air surrounding them was clear for a moment, Nix’s pistol shifted forms, transforming itself into a deep black bell that had a vial of light blue dust vertically lining the mid-section of it. The instant the transformation finished, she rang the bell loudly causing a shockwave of icy Aura to shoot around the battlefield, slowing the enemies assault. Her sister took this opportunity to turn from defense to offense, splitting her spear apart into dual wielding spear heads. She jumped into the fray, slashing everything that her blades could reach. After her quick outburst she jumped back to her sister’s side and created a blade out of her Aura and turned it against the Beowolves. The white Aura blade shot forward into the horde, cutting down some of her enemies before disappearing in a shimmer of white. Even though she had just taken out a good amount of Grimm, more Beowolves just filled their place.

“Shit! Nix what the fuck are we supposed to do!” She growled out the question frustrated. In truth she didn’t expect an answer, but in her anger and frustration she hoped that her sister would come up with a solution as she always had.

“I-I- I am sorry! But there are just too many of them! I am so sorry Sister!” Tears began forming in her eyes as the realization that this may be the end dawned on her. She thought fervently, trying to come up with any solution to their current ailment, but it was for naught. The sudden realization crashed upon her heavily, causing her to slip up only for a moment, but that was more than enough time for the flying Grimm to close in.

“NIX!” The ferocious sister of Nix suddenly snapped her spearheads back together and transformed them from spear to bow. She quickly drew back the bow string and in place of normal arrows, the same white Aura formed three sharp arrows that flew forward with the release of the bow string. The arrows pierced the three flying Grimm killing them instantly avoiding the aerial threat. However, the ground threat became much worse as the horde of Beowolves closed in on the pair. Nix regained her posture and turned her bell into a dagger as she prepared to assist her sister with the incoming Beowolves even though she believed it was helpless.

“Sister, Neyah (Nay-Ah), I Love you so much” Nix softly remarked as she prepared herself for the worst.

“I Love you too Sister, but I refuse to let it end like this!” Neyah returned her bow back to the Dual headed spear that she began with and formed another spear of the same type out of Aura, holding each in one of her hands. She grits her teeth hard gripping her spears tightly in preparation for the slaughter that was about to begin. She let open her jaw to let out a roar to let her opponents know that she was coming for the kill, however her roar had an unintended, sound, intensity, and effect almost as if she wasn’t the one who roared at all. “ARRGGGHHHH!”

“ARRGGGHHHH!” Time around them seemed to freeze as the advancing Beowolves stopped there advance suddenly. All of them, at once, froze in place, fearful at the roar that came from above. Nix and Neyah looked up, searching for the source of the dominating howl. Flying in from atop the massive cliff was what looked like a person and an animal of some kind. The pair of sisters held their breaths at the sight, watching, waiting for the mysterious person clad in (F/C) Aura to do something, anything, to help them. The mysterious figure began falling quickly to the ground, as he extended his leg upwardly. The animal next to him began spinning rapidly as it descended, glowing a deeper crimson with every complete rotation. They fell quickly, rapidly approaching the horde from above. As the Aura clad person reached the floor of Grimm the world fell silent, waiting to see what miraculous event would occur. The silence was broken suddenly with another shout from the mysterious figure.

“Battle-Axe!” After the shout, the figures foot slammed against one of the frozen Beowolves, brutally crushing its skull killing it instantly. As soon as the contact was made, the persons Aura replicated their original attack in a ghost like after image that smashed back into the already dead Beowolf. The impact of the kick was felt all across the battlefield as a massive shockwave shot across the area smashing against the surrounding Grimm causing some to buckle under the force, while others flew across the area crashing into collapsed buildings and skidding across the barren streets. However, the attack wasn’t done as the second shockwave from the Aura kick traveled across the horde. The second wave was the same color as the figures Aura and all of the Grimm that the wave touched were instantly disintegrated, leaving almost nothing left of their existence. The figures companion, a white tiger, followed up their attack by shooting out its red-hot Aura across the horde turning the space around it into a sauntering, unbearable heat. Nix and Neyah were in complete shock at the destruction that the figure had caused, and the fact that they did it with one attack. As soon as they touched the ground they got to work, smashing, biting, kicking, and clawing their way towards the sisters. By brutally annihilating the Grimm in front of them, they had finally made it to the two astonished girls.

“Are you guys, ok? You seemed like you needed a helping hand!”

“Beautiful.” That was the only thought that could make its way into Nix’s mind as she looked into the eyes of their savor. An intense blush began crowding her face as she realized what she had just called the man. She tried her best to recover quickly, to respond to the gorgeous man that had saved her life, but she was a moment to late as her sister began speaking.

“Damn I thought nobody was gonna show the fuck up! Looks like we aint shit outa luck are we Nix!” Neyah looked back at her sister with a grin expecting to bask in the look of relief on her face, but instead she saw something very different.

“Neyah your being to crude!” Nix’s embarrassed face was scrunched up tightly as she tried to scold her sibling on her harsh tone.

“Huh? What the fuck are you talking about? You’ve never had a problem with how I talk. What’s so different now?” Neyah looked at Nix with a very confused expression, completely unable to connect the dots.

“You cannot speak like that in front of our savior! I am sure that your numerous curses and harsh language is very disheartening to hear! Its not very lady like!” Nix completed her explanation with a huff, completely exhausting the rest of her breath. She raised her head to look back at the man who had saved their lives, waiting with bated breath to hear his response.

(Y/N) suddenly looked over at the two girls who were staring at him expectantly. If he was being completely honest, he wasn’t paying much attention to their conversation, since he was much more focused on the fact that the fear preventing the rest of the Grimm from moving was about to wear off. “Oh uh, I don’t care if people cuss a bunch, it’s just a way of verbally expressing yourself, and I aint got a problem with it. Also, last thing, I am not your savior, or at least not yet. There are still a ton of Grimm left alive that I’m pretty sure are gonna start moving soon.” The two girls suddenly turned their attention back to the horde of Grimm that were no longer frozen in place. The Beowolfs began shaking off the fear, before turning their attention back to the group. “We can talk about all that stuff later, after we survive this onslaught” (Y/N) said as he got back into his signature brawler stance.

“Fuck Yeah! Let’s kick some Grimm ass pretty boy!” Neyah shouted as she crouched down low in a stance reminiscent of a stalking predator.

“I will try my best to support you both from the rear!” Nix turned her dagger back into a Bell and rang it loudly sending the frosty Aura around the field yet again, before returning it to a pistol to act as a ranged support. “And Mr. Savior, I am greatly looking forward to our conversation after this battle!”

“Mr. Savior? You don’t have to call me Mr. Savior, my names (Y/N) (L/N), just (Y/N) is fine, and this adorable tiger right here is named Byakko.” The white tiger chose to introduce herself with a loud roar that was more cute and less intimidating.

“The names Neyah, don’t forget it!”

“My name is Nieva, but my friends and family call me Nix, it is very pleasant to meet you both (Y/N) and Byakko.”

“Yeah, nice to meet you both as well, but let’s forget the pleasantries and fuck some shit up!”

“HELL YEAH/Understood” They both spoke simultaneously. And it was at that moment that the dwindling horde of Beowolves charged forward attacking the group with their size. (Y/N) rushed in first, crashing his fist against the first wolf he saw, killing it instantly. The next beast he approached received the same treatment, with the same affect. This continued left, right and center, as (Y/N) eviscerated all of the Grimm surrounding him. It got to the point that he no longer needed to think to destroy the enemies in his way, and instead he chose to relive the events that led up to this moment.

……….

Upon approaching the cliff, (Y/N) heard a terrifying scream prompting him to leap as hard and fast as he could from the cliff side. As soon as he took off, (Y/N) dug deep, forcing mana into his throat to let out a ferocious roar that echoed across the collapsed city.

“ARRGGGHHHH!” As soon as his voice rang out, (Y/N) could see the gravity of the situation. Under him as he flew were two girls, pinned down from the surrounding Grimm. He quickly analyzed the situation, observing the enemy at hand.

“They’re so…weak. This should be easy; I just hope those girls are alright.” (Y/N) let go of his companion Byakko and let her attack freely. He could feel that she was confident that landing from this height would be no issue for her. As he fell, he activated his Aura, preparing to use his new Semblance to turn the tide of the battle faster than he would have without it. “Overtime” As he thought the name of his Semblance, his Aura naturally flared up, prepping the ability for use. “Alrighty then, let’s get to work!” Preparing his attack in the usual way, he let gravity carry him down to the Grimm infested ground as he activated his skill. “Battle-Axe!” As his foot crushed the skull of the Beowolf, he could feel his Aura move to attack it again. It was an awkward feeling to feel the impact of his attack twice over, but it was oddly satisfying in an indescribable way.

Next to (Y/N), he looked over to see Byakko radiating hot red aura, and he watched as she suddenly expanded her Aura to the surrounding area.

Byakko used Venus’s Heat, expanding her domain, and searing all enemies within its range.

23 Beowolf (Lvl 3) have been defeated!

After falling from the sky, and completely clearing out the group of Grimm that were in their landing sight, they pinpointed the location of the duo that needed assistance, and began making their way to them, killing as many Grimm on the way as they could.

……….

As (Y/N) continued to one shot his way easily through the crowd, he got a notification that appeared like the damage ones.

Pay Up!

He correctly assumed that this was his Semblance increasing his Pay Rate, making his follow up attacks do more damage. In this battle specifically it didn’t matter much, as he was one hitting the Grimm in the area with simple, basic punches and kicks. After clearing his section of the horde, he looked around to see how everyone else was doing, and he was surprised to say the least. Neyah was slaughtering the Grimm that surrounded her none made it out alive as she skillfully handled her spear, slicing her way to victory. Occasionally, she would throw her Aura spear, sending it piecing through the crowd only stopping once it reached its range limit, disappearing before slowly reforming in her left hand. Nix was just as impressive; she was an incredible sharpshooter with her gun. Easily beaming Beowolf after Beowolf, destroying their heads killing them instantly. Whenever a stray wolf managed to get even remotely close to her, she easily shifted her gun to a blade, slicing the Grimm up with finesse before returning to her ranged attacks. Looking at these two attack the horde made (Y/N) question why they were in trouble in the first place, he simply guessed that it was the numbers that brought them into such a dangerous spot in the first place. Speaking of dangerous, (Y/N) watched as Byakko completely decimated the Grimm in her sector with a barrage of bites, slashes, wind and lighting. She did so with terrifying efficiency as well, getting each Grimm within the tick rate of her heated domain so they died to burn instead of a wound inflicted by herself. (Y/N) went to assist his adorable companion in killing off the rest of the Grimm, and after that the battle was over.

Quest ‘Savior of the Faunus Twins’ Complete!

*Quest Rewards*: Faunus Race Crystal Shard!

“Huh? I never accepted a quest to save these girls, so how did I complete one?”

[Meta believes that some quests are automatically assigned by the System! Most quests are those that you may chose to accept or decline, but there may be some that you do not have a choice to accept or decline! Meta thinks it has to do with the importance of the Quest Reward!]

“That’s pretty cool that Ill sometimes get rewards for doing something that I was going to do anyway, so thanks for the explanation, Meta!”

[You’re Welcome!]

Race Crystal Shard- A single shard that is only a piece of a whole crystal. Collecting enough of these shards will allow you to fuse them together, forming the whole crystal. This is but a fragment of a powerful Crystalized Essence that can grant wonderful things.

Race Crystal- Every race has an Essence to them, that makes them unique to any others. It is this Essence that grants them their special powers that are innate in all those who are of that race. When this Essence grows immensely powerful, it will condense itself, Crystalizing into what we call a Race Crystal. When absorbing this Crystalized Essence, you will be granted the power of the race that the Crystals Essence formed from.

“So, I can gain new races by absorbing a Race Crystal, but I first have to find all the Shards. That’s pretty dope, but what the fuck is a Faunus?”

After his quick introspection, (Y/N) looked around the empty battlefield that was now littered with Beowolf mask. This was a bit different as usually the stuff would be automatically collected and stored in his inventory, but this time the items remained on the floor. And even weirder was the fact that the masks were only on the portion of the collapsed city streets where (Y/N) and Byakko were fighting. “I guess we are the only ones that can generate items from the System, interesting.” (Y/N) plugged the thought into the back of his mind and walked his way towards Byakko that was doing something odd with the masks on the ground. “Hey, my adorable little tiger cub! What are you doing with those masks on the ground, you know you can’t eat them?” (Y/N) walked up to the white tiger at a leisurely pace, halfheartedly interested in what she was messing with on the ground. As he got closer to her, his concern grew considerably as he came to realize what she was fidgeting with on the ground. “Aye! What are you doing Byakko!”

(Y/N) looked on in horror as he saw the Beowolf mask go deeper and deeper into her mouth as she chewed and swallowed the mask. It was very clearly not her first, as the entire area had been cleared of the stuff. “Byakko why are you eating Beowolf masks! That’s gross! And its probably not good for your health, you should probably stop it.” Byakko hopped over to another mask lying on the ground and picked it up in her jaws gently. She then turned to her Master and excitedly bounced her way over to (Y/N). She proceeded to present the Beowolf mask to him as a gift, but (Y/N) decided to decline. “I think that you deserved to have it, after all you’ve been a really good girl today” is what he said to the excided tiger cub. Byakko seemed to perk up even more as she closed her jaws harshly on the mask, generating a sickening crunch that was similar in sound to glass breaking, but combined with the crunchy noise of chewing something hard. The sound was cringe inducing, but (Y/N) watched onward petting her slightly on her soft head as she ate the unlikely snack. As Byakko finished what had to have been at least her tenth mask, a notification suddenly appeared in his mind.

| Byakko |

Grimm Assimilation Has Begun

Current Rate (0.0%)

“What the fuck. What the Fuck!” (Y/N) freaked out in his mind for a moment before calming himself down, asking Meta for another explanation on what was going on.

Assimilation- This is a special Ability that is exclusive to Byakko! By consuming different parts of Beasts consistently, she is able to take on their aspects. After she has completely assimilated the beast, she gains their race and is able to completely transform herself into them.

“Holy shit that’s cool! I gotta see if I can feed her all the other Grimm shit I got and see if it’ll make the assimilation rate go up at all. Hey Meta, do you think that you could collect all the masks that are chillin on the ground for me?”

[Of course!]

+87 Beowolf Masks

(Y/N) began thinking about sorting through his inventory to find the other Grimm related Items he had to see if Byakko may want to eat them, but he was suddenly interrupted by two approaching women. “Yo Hero Boy!” (Y/N) peaked up slightly at the approaching girls, only paying half attention to their forms as most of his attention was on the white tiger in front of him.

“My name is (Y/N), but what’s up.”

“Nix and I thought it’d prolly be best if we got the fuck up outa the open. You know, so we don’t get fucked up again” Neyah explained. It was a completely logical decision, and (Y/N) had no reason to disagree. He was about to respond, but he was cut off by the other half of this twin.

“Yes, it would be best if we were to avoid open areas like this, so we don’t get ambushed again” Nix said. Before she continued with her explanation she began blushing slightly and covered her face slightly with her hands. “And it would be a nice place to talk like you said we would earlier” she whispered out the last part, barely loud enough for the group to hear.

“Of course, how about we got to one of those buildings over there. Most of the building is collapsed, but it looks fairly stable. Plus, it’s not so open that we can get attacked from all sides, but it still has a few different exits that aren’t very visible so we can sneak off if needed.” (Y/N) pointed to a collapsed building that was close by without looking up from his adorable companion. He used his sixth sense to analyze the structures surrounding them as they spoke, trying to find the best, and safest location for their current situation. It wasn’t that he was worried about more Grimm showing up, he knew that he could deal with them easily. However, he wasn’t so sure about the two ladies that he had just recently saved, after all it was a tough enough battle, and he didn’t know the limits to their stamina.

“Wow! You are very observant (Y/N)! To be able to determine all that information with a glance in such a short period of time is super impressive!” Nix was positively glowing with admiration for the man, her eyes glued to his form. Her admiring stare was cut short as her sister suddenly spoke.

“Yeah, lets hurry the fuck up, my legs are killing me, and I don’t think my Aura will be holding up much longer. Follow me to safety shitheads.” Neyah turned on her heels and started towards the designated building, her sister following closely behind.

(Y/N) got up from his crouched position prepping to follow the two. “Alright Byakko lets go.” The white tiger got up excitedly and rubbed herself softly against her master’s leg. The two then began following the sisters to the building, matching them stride for stride as they walked behind them. Now that (Y/N) was no longer focused on Byakko, or the Grimm horde, he finally began to take a good look at the two girls he had just saved. As he looked at their forms from behind, he noticed something spectacularly confusing. “Tails? Are those accessories or something?” His thoughts continued as he watched the tails swish from side to side as they approached the safe house. The interesting appendages were similar in design and color but very different characteristically.

Nix’s tail moved slowly, elegantly as it swished from side to side entrancingly. Her tail was medium length but was incredibly fluffy clearly showcasing much more fur than her sisters. Her tail was pure white with leopard print spots of black along its length. Neyah’s tail on the other hand bounced, swished, and curled in nonstop movements that were hard to read, but just as interesting to watch. Her tail was incredibly long, but it could look deceivingly short due to its movements and random kinks across its form. The fur was short and tight and was barely extended passed the muscle of the tail, but it still looked incredibly soft. Like her sister, her tail was a pure white base, but along her tail were black stripes like that of a tiger. “No, there is no possible way that their accessories, they clearly have motor function over them. Wait, does that mean this world has Demi-Humans. Or maybe-“(Y/N)’s thoughts were cut short as they entered the building, Neyah instantly making the place her home as she collapsed onto the floor, arms and legs spread eagle like a starfish.

“Finally, a fuckin break!” She took in a large inhale before quickly exhaling catching her breath and relaxing on the cold concrete. Her sister on the other hand, crouched down and elegantly sat herself on the ground across from her sister. (Y/N) plopped on the ground sitting crisscross as Byakko curled herself back into his lap, cuddling warmly into his form. They all sat quietly for a moment, catching their breaths, and gaining their bearings after the experience. (Y/N) however took this time to completely examine the two siblings, both appearance and strength wise. Firstly, he looked to Nix, and he was astonished to say the least. She was incredibly beautiful; her face was soft and noble with no blemishes tarnishing her beauty. Her skin was white as snow with cheeks that blushed a light pink color accentuating her cuteness to an unbelievable degree. Her eyes were a large and pretty grey that were impossible not to get lost in the instant you made eye contact with them. Her lips were a plump and pretty pink that were gloating a noble chastity.

Her hair was silver in color growing closer and closer to white as it reached the ends. Two thick braids hung low in front of her shoulders complementing her beauty perfectly. The rest of her hair hung low, completely covering her back and the floor around her. Atop of her head were two adorable ears that perked, and twitch occasionally as (Y/N) took in her form. Her clothing matched her beauty perfectly as she had a large black cloak that draped across her shoulders, covering her body warmly. The clothing under the cloak was reminiscent of shaman clothing, but with much more style and elegance. It was white in color ad had black belts tied to her waist and abdomen perfectly showing off her curves in the loose clothing. The top connected to the bottom half with thin, but strong, seems that allowed the rest of the cloth to run freely down her legs. These same legs were exposed to the open showing off how truly lush and plump her thighs truly were. Covering the rest of her legs were grey and black thigh high socks that were lacey at the hem. Where thigh met sock there was an incredible cleft that accentuated the thickness and fluff of her pale thighs. On her foot she wore long, black boots that went up to her calves. Nix blushed slightly as she watched her savior stare deeply at her, but even in her embarrassing stupor, she looked back at him with even more intensity, taking in every detail of his features.

(Y/N) then turned his attention to the other sister that was laid out, sprawled against the floor. Neyah was incredibly beautiful, but in a completely different way from her twin. For starters her skin was a vibrant caramel color that was incredibly soft on the eyes. Every feature on her face screamed ferocious, as her eyes and eyebrows were slanted aggressively. However, her eyelashes were long and silky creating this amazingly confusing combination that one could only call violently sexy. Speaking of her eyes, they were a faded teal color, with black oval shaped pupils inside them. This in combination with her brows and lashes made for an incredibly intense and dominating gaze that followed her eyes with every movement. Across her cheeks were dark brown birth marks that were lining the sides of her face with perfect symmetry. These marks looked like strong, short, aggressive brush strokes from an expert painter, only adding to the aggressive but sexy look her facial features had already established. Her mouth was stretched into a permanent seductive smirk that tantalized (Y/N) even at a glance. Neyah’s ears sat on the sides of her head like usual, but they were incredible sharp and pointed which gave her a incredibly attractive animalistic look. Her hair was much the same way, being completely white in color her hair was tied in one long wild braid that barely held it all together. Strands of hair spread out wildly from her edges continuing the aggressively sultry look that enamored (Y/N) greatly. Along her shoulders were two thin tightly braided strands of hair that were held together by golden ties that finished off her look with a neat but wild expression.

As he continued examining her form, he noticed that she was wearing, well, not much clothing as the only thing that covered her chest were tightly tied bandages that held here breasts together. Even with this high quality, tight covering the size and voluptuousness of her breasts was very clear. Her beautiful skin was covered in birth marks that could easily have been mistaken as scars giving her an even more wild look. Her body was hardened and toned as she was clearly very strong when it came to her physicality. Along her waste, covering her chastity, was a pair of very short, tight, black shorts that hugged her hips and ass with every movement. As (Y/N)’s eyes moved down her body, he noticed that her legs were covered in the same bandages that covered her breasts accept this bandaging was far looser showing off much more of her luscious thighs. Her feet were bandaged in the same way except she wore black sandals over top her bandaged feet.

However, after the destruction of the clan and Neyah received the spear, she used her incredible knowledge of weapons and combat utility to upgrade the relic into something much stronger. She transformed the weapon into a dual headed spear that could be easily separated into two separate blades that can be dual wielded. On top of that, when in the spear form it can be changed into a bow that she can use to shoot arrows from her Semblance.

“I knew that they had to be strong to survive for as long as they did against the Grimm horde, but I didn’t think that they would be this strong.” The group sat in silence for a moment, adjusting to each other presence and catching their breaths after the battle. The quiet didn’t last for long as Neyah suddenly sat up, springing to attention.

“So, who the fuck are you? I mean you’re pretty cute, and strong, but you kinda came falling from the sky when shit started hitting the fan and I’m confused where the fuck you came from. Seems kinda suspicious to me, cute guy falls from the sky to save two pretty girls sounds like some cliché shit, and its oddly convenient.” Neyah spoke in a very blunt manner, saying exactly what was on her mind with little to no filter. (Y/N) found comfort in her bluntness because it was very easy to tell how she felt about anything. Evidently, Nix didn’t agree with his mental assessment.

“Neyah! You are being to crude! (Y/N) risked his own safety to help us when we were in trouble! It is incredibly rude to accuse him of foul play when he is the only reason we aren’t as wounded as we should be.” She then turned her head to face (Y/N) and from her position on the floor, she bent over putting her forehead to the ground. “I sincerely apologize for my sister’s rude behavior, and I graciously thank you for your acts of heroism that saved us from a possible brutal end at the hand of those Grimm.

“No, no, no you really don’t have to apologize for something as simple as the way she talks. Honestly, I really like the blunt way that Neyah speaks, it makes her especially easy to understand. Plus, it is completely understandable that she finds me a bit suspicious. “(Y/N) didn’t notice at the time, but at his compliment about her honesty the tips of her ears began reddening and she turned her head down slightly. “And a thanks is unnecessary I was only doing what felt natural to me. Leaving people alone when they are in dire straits is just not my style, if someone needs help and I can provide it, then I will.” Nix raised her head and looked up to (Y/N) with admiration.

“That is very noble of you, but do you mind me asking what brings you to this area? This is not a place where people can be found, only Grimm travel this land.” At the question both of the Panthera twins focus fell onto the savior. It was at this moment that his mind began moving rapidly, coming up with an explanation to his issue.

“I can’t tell them about the Awakening thing because they won’t believe me. Even if they did buy it for a second, it’d probably cause more harm than good, so what do I do?” He asked himself the question, and managed to settle on the best possible solution, telling the truth. “I know its hard to believe, but I honestly have no clue where I am.” Nix looked over to her sister with a half confused, half expecting expression. Instead of looking back to her Neyah kept her eyes glued to (Y/N)’s.

“Go on.” Neyah had a serious expression on her face. Gone was the wild sexiness that enthralled him earlier, in its place was a piercing, threatening glare that dared him to make any kind of mistake.

When met with the look he was slightly enamored, but he cleared his throat and continued with his story. “Like I said, I have no clue where I am (true). When I came too, I found myself in the middle of some random forest surrounded by trees completely lost (also true). To find some answers, I chose a direction and sprinted until I could find anything significant. It was while I was running that I ran into a massive cliff side that impeded my progress, so I chose to climb up it. It was also at the base of this mountain side that I met this adorable creature that you see on my lap (all true except not exactly in that order).” (Y/N) then put his hand on her head, gently stroking her body from snout to tail as he did before, receiving intense purrs as a reward for his massaging. “Somehow, we just instantly clicked, and she jumped on top of me licking my face all over even though it was our first meeting. For whatever reason I feel like I’ve known his animal my entire life, but I have no clue why (I know that it’s because of the MAX bond level, but I don’t know why the level started out as MAX, so this is also true). I then picked up my new white tiger companion and climbed to the top of the cliff and continued traveling in this general direction. It was then that I noticed that something was horribly wrong. I heard someone shouting someone’s name extremely loudly and I figured they were in trouble, so I ran in the direction of the voice. The direction of the voice I heard came from lead to the edge of a cliff, I figured that it was incredibly urgent, so I chose to jump off the cliff screaming my lungs out. It was then that I realized the gravity of the situation and I decided to give my all to help you both. And I believe you both know the rest of the story.” (Y/N) finished his retelling with a heavy exhale as he relaxed back into his seating position petting Byakko with more intimacy. Nix. Yet again, turned back to her sister for confirmation.

Neyah’s intense stare suddenly relaxed back to her normal look as she slumped back down to the ground. She exaggerated a loud exhale of air as she exclaimed “He’s not lying.”

Nix perked up immediately as a wide smile found its way across her face. “See! I told you he was a good guy!” Nix continued on with her I told you so rant for a moment before Neyah sat back up from her position on the ground.

“Alright, alright! Damn! I know your right, but you aint gotta rub it in like that. I’m just tryna stay cautious, we can’t just be trusting everybody we see. Especially because… you know” as she spoke that last statement, she raised her tail across her body pointing to it. As Nix realized what she was referring too, her tail that had been sprawled out across the floor suddenly curled up shyly behind her back hidden from (Y/N).

Nix’s ears shrunk considerably laying flat on her head trying their best to hide themselves amongst her long hair. That wasn’t all, her entire form seemed to shrink multiple sizes at the exclamation, her head bent over in shame as she whispered, “Oh yeah, I forgot.” The air of the room fell still, and an awkward silence came upon the group.

“What is with this vibe.” (Y/N) looked around the room awkwardly, waiting for one of the two to break the tension, but neither of them looked like they were going to say anything. “Well, I don’t think I’ll be able to learn anything unless I ask the question. Here goes nothing.” (Y/N) cleared his throat just loud enough to get the attention of the two sulking girls, and then he spoke “I don’t want to pry or be rude, but I can help my curiosity so I’m going to ask anyway what exactly you guys are referring to?” The instant the words came out of his mouth the twin sisters faces turned from ones of dismay into expressions of confusion.

Nix was the first to recover, as she fixed her face repairing her noble expression. “You really aren’t aware of the current state of affairs are you.” In response to her question, he shook his head in disapproval. Acknowledging his answer, she continued with her explanation, “Well I guess I’ll start from the beginning. Me and my sister are what are called Faunus. As you can see,” she pointed to her ears, “we are a bit different from the rest of the humans in Remnant. All of those who are Faunus have some form of animal like traits that can be expressed in a multitude of ways. For example, I have these ears atop my head, and a tail to match. Neyah has a very long tail with eyes and an expression reminiscent of that of a tiger. Even though we have these extra features we are still very much the similar to regular humans. We are just as intelligent, just as capable, and just as strong, or potentially even stronger than, the Humans. Some of us even pertain regular human physical traits, for example even though I have these panther ears I still have regular human ears attached to the sides my head.” As she said this, Nix moved her hair slightly revealing the cute, pale human ears hidden behind her luscious locks. (Y/N) looked on in enthrallment at her explanation, but as she spoke things began to click in his mind slowly, but surely. “We aren’t very different from normal Humans, but we are… let’s say, treated less than kind by them.” Nix’s hands fell into her lap as she began fidgeting with her fingers, nervously, as she spoke. “The history between Humans and Faunus is less than stellar to say the least.” Nix then paused for a moment taking a quick glance at her sibling. “We- “Neyah cut her off by scoffing loudly to herself.

“Less than stellar you say. Less than fucking stellar.” Neyah began chuckling at the comment, stopping suddenly as she adopted a serious expression like the one before. “The history isn’t less than stellar, nor was our treatment. Those fuckers treated the Faunus like animals. We were slaves! Locked in cages, abused, and treated as less than fucking animals! That’s how it began, kept as pets, bread like dogs, and killed for sport nothing was too horrid or demeaning for those damn Humans!” Neyah relaxed slightly, adopting a more relaxed position than before. “Until one day Humans found a use for us Faunus. We are strong. The Faunus are powerful. Naturally born with strength and ability that can far surpass any born Human, and its because of this strength that the Humans found a use for the Faunus. Those damn Humans redefined the definition of a Faunus Slave from one of hard labor, to another of sacrificial pawn!” Her anger spiked as she clenched her fist tightly, trembling with seething rage. “Armored with nothing more than collars and rusted weapons, fed the bare minimum to survive we were shipped off in mass to fight in a battle that could not be won. We were FUCKIGN SLAUGHTERED!”

After the intense shout she took a deep breath, calming herself down slightly before continuing. “Masses of innocent Faunus fighting and dying against the Grimm that were plaguing Remnant. This senseless slaughter continued until on the battlefield a Faunus manifested a power that had never been seen before. While close to death, in the anguish of her fallen allies, she clutched tightly onto the heirloom her mother had given her, a small blue crystal that her ancestor had found when they were still free, and out of this crystal came ice colder than anything that had ever been felt. This ice fucking eviscerated all the Grimm that came close to her, and as such she easily managed to kill the rest of the Grimm on the Battlefield winning the first battle for intelligent life on Remnant.” A small smile sat on Neyah’s face at the thought, before that happy expression turned sour again. “Of course, this one success, that was earned by the Faunus, was completed discredited by the Human Commander as he took all the FUCKING CREDIT!” This story was clearly very emotionally taxing on Neyah’s mental state, as (Y/N) watched her punch the ground, shaking the building slightly in the process. Yet before he could stop her, she was talking again.

“This is the TRUE discovery of Dust. It was due to this discovery that the Humans began mining for it, mass producing the Dust, and with this new strength the Humans went to battle. They called it the ‘Great War’, the fantastical last-ditch effort for the Humans to valiantly fight back against the Grimm.” Neyah spoke the last part with an emphasized sarcasm. “With this new ‘human’ discovery, they were able to push the Grimm back, and winning the oh so Great fucking War. And as they say history is written by the winners and as such no one knows of the original sacrifice that was paid by the hundreds of thousands of Faunus lives. However, as reparations for covering up the history of our ancestors sacrifice and discovery of the substance that fuels our society, we got segregated to the small island of menagerie.” She completed her speech with a loud exhaling huff, as she slumped back down into her previous laid-back seating position.

Nix began to follow up after Neyah’s heart felt explanation before said girl suddenly sat back up with another comment. “Oh yeah! And we still get treated like shit to this day! What a phenomenal reward for our services don’t you think?” Nix turned to her sister looking at her warmly.

Waddling over to her, Nix placed her hands into her sisters holding them comfortingly. “Neyah, we are a long way from those times. It has gotten a lot better since then and that is something you cannot deny.: She then turned to (Y/N), “I apologize for my sisters aggressive telling of the story, as you can see, she gets quite passionate about the topic.” (Y/N) looked at the two girls with new perspective, truly seeing the amount of persecution and discrimination that they have faced up until this point for something as stupid as cat ears.

“No not at all. It is truly horrendous the way you all were treated, it appalls me that someone could treat another like that. And the fact that you all are still facing discrimination to this day after your ancestor sacrifice is outrageous. I know that it doesn’t sound like much coming from me, but I feel like I can relate in some way, after all Faunus history sounds very similar to Black History.” That last bit of his statement stopped suddenly in his mind and never made it out of his lips. In that moment, his brain began connected all of the dots of information he had received thus far on his journey. “Remnant, Grimm, Dust, Transforming Weapons, Great War, Discrimination against Faunus. Holy fucking shit. HOLY FUCKING SHIT! I’M IN RWBY!!!” His mind exploded at the sudden realization; all kinds of thoughts found their way traveling at light speeds throughout his mind leaving him frozen, unable to respond to anything.
