《The Break》chapter 51: Unexpected Visit[2]

At that moment the two former friends left the classroom to talk.

As soon as they left, the temperature in the room fell. Without any powers, the two girls still managed to affect reality to such a degree.

The blonde beauty with blue eyes looked at the other girl up and down, thinking about how this girl got so close to her boyfriend's best friend. And you can’t really blame her since they just happened to be so close after only a weekend.

The girl with pink and violet strands between her black hair on the other hand had only one thing in her mind.

‘How the hell did he choose her? And how the hell was this bitch able to make him hurt?’

And so, they looked at each other with such a silent air around them that neither wanted to even speak up.

But someone’s curiosity beat her to it again, making her mouth move faster than her mind.

“How did you get so close to Laith?”

“I bet you want to know, bitch.”

A vein was visible on her forehead but she held her anger in. If she was right, fighting her will only lead to defeat.

But just outride insulting her didn’t sit well, so she had to have a comeback.

“Oh~! I was just curious since Laith was always someone that held back interacting with other people in school since rumours travel faster than light. And I bet you heard the rumours as well. So either you two knew each other before and had such a deep friendship or…”

The ends of her mouth curled up as she looked at the annoyed Alyssa. She didn’t like to be mean usually but Alyssa insulted her without any reason that she knows so paying back felt that good.

“...you want something from him. You know, like a-”

“SHUT UP!!!”

VUUM

Pink energy flew out of her body, screaming to hit the frail girl in front of her.

But she also held back.

“Are you an idiot?! Is a provocation that serious to you that you would even endanger yourself and Laith!”

“Shut up! Shut up! Shut up!!!”

Although she shouted louder, her Will returned back, understanding that this was the riskiest thing she may have done outside.

“Don’t even dare say that word again.”

“But that doesn’t concern you, only Laith. And never reacted to that word so extremely. You know, you two are so different.”

Coming slightly closer to Alyssa, Gina’s smile stayed the same. Both of them didn’t know where this extreme confidence came from but that didn’t stop her in any way.

“He is smart, diligent, calculative and understands what he has to do and what he shouldn’t do. You are clearly an idiot, cling so much to him that you are unaware of your surroundings and right now you seemed too emotional. You two are so different that I have to ask how you two even got to know each other so quickly over just a weekend.”

Alyssa stood there with no word leaving her mouth. She was almost about to burst from what Gina just said but she held herself back.

She understood that what Gina said was true.

Alyssa wasn’t as smart as Laith outside of studying.

Alyssa was clinging so much to Laith that she had made trouble for Laith on numerous occasions.

And lastly, she was too emotional. She rather listened to her heart than to her head. And she did so countless times in her life. Even when her mother left all of a sudden.

‘You two… you two have 100%affinities. Even if that looks like something you want to have it may also be a curse. But what you should know is that your body and soul want only the best for you. So trust your instincts.’

But before she could feel that she may be wrong, Akira’s words came back to her.

He said it himself, didn’t he?

“I may be not as smart, not as independent or as rational as Laith but I am always following my instincts. And that is something I’m proud of. Any problem with that?”

“Only that you still didn’t answer my question.”

“I don’t need you to know about everything that happened between me and Laith. You have no right to know.”

Gina stood there now silently biting her lip. She doesn’t know how much Laith told her about that night but whatever he said, he must have mentioned how Gina wasn’t even considered in this situation. Her curiosity is something that has her made regret multiple choices once.

And maybe now, it will be the second time.

“What if I beat the answer out of you?”

“Are you an idiot? Clearly, you understood that I am an awakened, right?”

“Yes but you also understand that the principle is still protecting all of us, right?”

“I obviously know that!”

She obviously forgot about that.

The principal was very honest when he said that he will protect anyone in this school from harm caused by any awakened.

And since he has threatened Laith once, she remembered that she will also be confronted by the principal if she ever did something out of line.

“But you do know that I’m well trained.”

“That same goes for me, SLUT!!!”

As Gina screamed, she jumped at Alyssa with all she could. Seeing the punch approaching her in slow motion, she was baffled that the girl that just called her an idiot actually went out and assaulted her out of the blue. All while she knew she couldn’t win in a real fight.

But just before she wanted to move out of the way without any care did she realise that she fucked up and had to take the punch.

Because if anyone noticed her speed, strength or endurance, she would be found out.

And that would make Laith get found out.

So she took that punch like that, lowering any kind of resistance.

SMACK

“I thought you were better at me. But it seems without your powers, you can’t do shit to me-HE!”

A punch was thrown as Gina was still talking. Alyssa wanted to show her that she was overestimating herself but Gina dodged right on time.

“You seemed trained as well.”

“Have a few years of mixed martial arts under my belt. Hah!”

A kick that Alyssa blocked followed soon after. She understood what Gina meant when she blocked the kick.

‘Heavy for a [Mortalis] realm person…’

And soon, a fight that went around the classroom soon started with the attacks coming mostly from Gina. This exchange slowly attracted more and more attention as the fight went on. The first few students that saw the fight wanted to stop it but couldn’t enter it without getting hurt.

One student even tried to break the fight apart but was beaten black and blue by the two girls, leaving him just like that with full regret.

And when it caught the attention of even the teachers, the fight was already too complicated to solve just by anyone. And normally, the principal would already end the fight.

If it wasn’t for a note he found on his desk last night.

“Alyssa!”

“Gina!”

The two of us rushed to the two girls fighting but the moment I saw the expressions of the two and the kicks that were about to meet, I speed up slightly.

“Bitch!”

“Slut!”

PACK

PACK

I grabbed the two’s ankles as I arrived just in time to forcefully stop them.

“Stop it! The two of you!”

Pure silence. The moment I grabbed their ankles and shouted, I could tell that their eyes became clearer than before as if finally waking up.

“Do you two understand in what kind of situation you are? You two can’t just start fighting like that in the middle of the classroom.”

“But she started it!”

“You wanted it!”

“Get the hell out of the way, Leech!”

“Yeah, it was getting just so interesting!”

“Why do you have to ruin a girls' fight, fucker?”

“I SAID ENOUGH!!”

My voice was so loud it almost made the whole room shake but it was worth it as everyone stopped talking. I let go of the ankles and stared at everyone in utter disbelief.

“Is everyone here out of their fucking minds? Do you really want to see the end of a fight? Cause if you want to, I can give it to you outside just as well! And now just fucking look at yourself! Crazed after violence and hatred! Do you have nothing better to do than to watch two girls fight with each other? Because those that do try to stop the fight and look at their states now! Beaten just because they wanted to end a needless fight!”

“But…”

“I SAID NEEDLESS! And now you two! You two are the most childish adults I’ve ever seen! Look at yourself. You two just became adults yet you are arguing like little children in kindergarten. Do you two have no shame? Do you two have no rationality? Does someone always need to show you what is right and wrong?”

“Alright, that’s enough. Everyone! Go back to their-”

“No one should go to their seats until they understand just how stupid every last one of you is!”

“That is enough, Laith. As a teacher, I decide what the class will do.”

“Yet as a teacher, you were unable to stop a fight between two students. Even if they were fighting too fiercely, that should have been non of your concern and you should have been the first one to take a hit to stop a fight yet stayed back like a chicken! Everyone! Everyone is stupid here! Even me for trying to put some sense into your thick skulls.”

“Then just don’t try it, Laithy boy.”

“Don’t even try it, James!”

“Oh, but I will.”

This fucker smirked as he stood right in front of me. Didn’t you just see how I stopped the fight with my bare hands? Are you that dense to understand that I may be strong now?

“Don’t you dare berate me! You stood there like the rest of them instead of acting!”

“But you saw it yourself. If I tried to enter and stop the fight, then I’d be beaten black and blue. It was only a miracle that you came out there unharmed.”

“Then shut up and accept that you could also have created this miracle. And now stop arguing with me about something you are wrong about and let me enjoy my last year at high school.”

“But why should I let a monster like you enjoy school like that right after you made such a big scene?”

“Because you won’t like it otherwise.”

“I can’t even imagine what you mean by that. You may look strong and have become stronger in such a short time but you clearly don’t have the balls to start a fight again, don’t you? Especially under these circumstances.”

What the fuck is your problem? What have I really done to you that you hate me this much?

“Just let me have my peace already. I do not want to leave school just because someone made my school life not as comfortable as it should have been.”

I said this but it would have made my life just that easier. But unfortunately, I am kind of bound to this school since the principal is Alexander Lenkov, the lone hero, and his protection is what I desperately need right now.

But before I knew it, I wished that I wasn’t at school this time around. Because the next thing that went out of that bastard's mouth made me realise just how I was truly feeling.

“Why not? I mean, it seems like leaving just like that is kind of a family trait.”

Dead silence. The moment he said that everyone took a step back. Even the teachers instinctively took a step back, unaware of why they did such a thing.

But to be honest, I was thankful for that. I want to stay true to my words.

But this bastard made me want to start the fight for a very good reason.

CLENCH

I grabbed him by his collar and pulled him as close as possible. Looking him dead in the eye, I could tell that he felt absolutely nothing when saying this.

“Don’t. Even. Try. To. Play. With. Me.”

“Oh~. So scary~. And what do you think you could do if I di…dn’t…”

That was the moment everyone saw a new side of me, including me.

Because that was the moment I snapped.

Because that was the moment I realised that James deserves something more than simple words.

Because that was the moment when he made me so angry that I raised my fist and held it right in front of his face.

Nothing that would hurt anyone, right?

That is true unless you count the fact that something was coming out of my fist.

Not Will. nor was it any kind of force.

But the pressure that came with it was so strong that even the other people around me felt it.

Intent.

The understanding of a concept. The thing that is tied but also independent to your affinity.

Intent is something powerful depending on the user and can be either extremely powerful or as harmless as a fly according to the effort invested in that concept.

Yet to gain intent you have to fully understand a concept in your own way first. You can be taught an understanding or someone can transfer their intent to you but that is not as powerful as gaining that yourself.

And with my ability, I have already a complete understanding of artefacts.

Weapons, armour and accessories. All three are something I have a complete understanding of in every way thanks to my ability.

And this meant that something like having someone feel my intent is as simple for me as snapping my fingers.

Intent can’t hurt anyone in general but it makes people hallucinate in a certain way.

The hallucinations are all the ways I can use the concept of the intent to hurt or help you.

And this meant that right now, everyone must be feeling a knife at their throats.

Everyone.

“Laith?”

Even Alyssa.

But the most miserable one must be James. He was under the full force of my intent. And this meant that right now.

“Ha…ha…please…ha… don’t…”

He was seeing almost every weapon inside my armoury on his body, threatening to hurt him in the most gruesome way possible.

“Laith!”

But before I could continue, I was held back. She was behind me, hugging me tightly as her slender hands were slowly rubbing my chest. I could understand that she was hugging me the same way as usual but the meaning behind it was completely different.

“Just… stop…”

And that is when I came back to reality.

I just showed everyone intent. It was something even [Mortalis] realm people could do, so not like I showed them something unbelievable but the way how far I went was shocking.

Because just before that, I was talking about how the two girls that just fought were acting childish but now here I am, making James piss his pants with my intent.

I let go of his collar and let my hands fall down as I looked at everyone in disbelief. This… wasn’t what I wanted.

I wanted to be the better person!

“I’m sorry but I have to go.”

And I ran away.

I ran away from what I have done, with anxious looks directed right at me.

I went too far…

I went to fucking far!

‘Come to my office. Now. And stay calm.’

The Principal?!

Of course… I used intent on a [Mortalis] realm student. Obviously, I’ll be called by the principal. My only hope is that I can leave his office alive…

And I made my way towards his office, passing by teachers and students that looked at me weirdly. They weren’t there so they shouldn’t know about what just happened but it felt like their gazes knew everything.

And although I noticed that the number of students and teachers became less and less with each step I took toward the office, those gazes only made me more uncomfortable.

Every move I do is being watched.

It wasn’t the first time I was having this feeling. People have been watching me before. But it never felt this obvious.

Maybe because I actually had a reason? Maybe because now, they could be watching me out of fear?

I don’t like it.

I hate it.

Stop it.

CLICK

“Not even knocking. You seem very much taken by this experience.”

“Tell me about it…”

THUD

I let myself fall on the couch as I looked the principal in the eye. When I saw his expression though, it made me hate myself again.

This fucking pity.

“I’m sorry this has happened to you. I’m not sure what the basis of the rumours nor James’s hatred toward you is bu-”

“Don’t need it. I have been living with this my whole high school life. I am only disappointed at myself for immediately going with violence the moment I know I’m stronger than him.”

“But you had a justification for your violence. Holding all this anger and only letting it out the moment your parents were mentioned is actually quite impressive for an eighteen-year-old. Most teenagers would have already stopped pulling their punches.”

“I know but I have to be better than just that. I am awakened. I don’t have the luxury of just punching and kicking anyone I don’t like. I’d be any better than those fucking family bastards. And to be better than them, all I have to do is to focus my violence on them and those sacrifice fanatics. Maybe I could do something good for the world as well. ”

“Ahahahahahaha!”

Huh? Why is he laughing right now? Did I say something funny?

“I like your attitude towards those bastards! Hahaha! But… Hahahaha! I’m sorry. It is just that you remind me so much of an old friend.”

An old friend? Which powerhouse is it that he is talking about? I couldn’t imagine Gramps being that friend and I am not sure if it is someone from his childhood.

Looking at the principal, I could see a lot of nostalgia in his eyes and a little bit of…

Grief.

“You think too much about it. He is actually a [Mortalis] realm person… or was…”

“I’m… sorry to hear that…”

“It is fine. Now I called you here to talk. I’m not going to punish you nor am I in a position to punish you. What James has done is unforgivable and you have not used your ability nor your Will but intent, a concept that [Mortalis] realm people can understand just as fast as awakened ones.”

“Then what do you want to talk with me, principal?”

He paused for a moment. It seemed like it was something hard to explain, even making him take a big sip from his teacup.

“Do you know why I, second only to the immortal warhead, the lone hero, am here at a regular school being a principal? Don’t answer a rhetorical question…”

I wanted to open my mouth but before I could even say a single word, he already shot me down. Make it a bit more obvious, please.

“It was about forty-seven years ago. At the time, I was quite busy dealing with the ‘vide d'esprit’ cult as they became ever so desperate to complete a certain weapon made out of a million souls. They were extreme existential nihilists and found no value in anything besides knowledge, even living beings. I had my reasons why I was a lot involved with the sects and cults but this time, it was more than that. I was out there for revenge. I had my sight focused on only one thing. To get those bastards’ heads in my palms before crushing them one by one. But that is until I met someone who was in Paris for his holidays in the winter. Juergen was a young normal man in his early twenties when I met him in the 60s. And I won’t forget how he had just approached me out of nowhere when I was trying to spy on some suspicious people in a cafe. Hahaha!”

He laughed out loud again while his dark red hair began to look more like a lion’s mane. Talk about the resemblance. He was even as loud as one.

“That idiot couldn’t help himself when he noticed that I was not like a normal person. During my time in Paris, Juergen would do nothing but be right behind me. Even when I thought that I lost him for good, this idiot always found me one way or another. It was as if he was an awakened person but I was sure that he wasn’t. But after dealing with the ‘vide d’esprit’ cult, I had nothing that was pushing me anywhere. And surprisingly, Juergen was someone with a lot more intellect and wisdom than all awakened under 150 years of age yet he still wasn’t awakened which made me only more curious about his background. But with the years of hanging out while he had his mathematics studies going on, he decided to settle down in a school on the outskirts of Frankfurt at first and later here in Berlin, working as a mathematic teacher and later as a principal for his last seven years. When I asked him why he didn’t pursue more he gave me such an answer that even I was baffled for a moment.”

Clearing his mouth, the principal was most likely about to imitate ‘ Juergen’s voice’.

And he used such a voice that I was stunned because this was nothing like the principal’s usual one. So soft. So fragile.

So human…

“Sometimes, there is more to pursue than money, fame and prestige. You can try to work your whole life for that yet accomplish nothing. You can give up at the beginning without giving it even a thought, maybe even wasting your own potential. But I know my limits. And I know that thanks to you, I have knowledge that humans aren’t ready for yet. Barriers, teleportation, curing almost all diseases… giving humans too much will only make them want for more. Will only make them degrade each other more. We had enough of that. We first need to learn how to avoid such a situation to then develop ourselves even further. And you know just as well as I do that this won’t happen in the near future. And trying to discover more of the truth won’t bring me nor the humans any further since it all may be a complete lie in itself next to the real laws of the universe. I mean we even have multiple dimensions! Haha!... but I am content like this. I should enjoy what I have now, rejoice when I get some more and accept it when I lose some more. I’m not an immortal being like you nor do I regret my choices. But thank you for always being there for me, my friend. It was one of the few experiences that I will never want to lose. So thank you… old friend.”

“Are you alright?”

“Yeah… remembering is hard and telling it to someone like a kid even harder.”

His voice went back to normal just as he was saying the last sentence with one tear falling down his cheek. I can partly imagine what he wanted to tell me with this, besides telling me a bit of himself.

“What I’m trying to say here is that enjoy what you have, rejoice when you gain some more and accept it when you lose some more. But never do something you will regret later on. Accept kindness with love and happiness. Accept anger and sadness with strong dedication and patience. And anything in between just as it is. Don’t let something like your parents make you go wild but instead show your determination to push through any kind of hardships and one day no one can do anything to you.”

I sat there silently, looking down at the floor with my mind occupied by his words. I think this may be one of the biggest lessons I have learned in my life so far. I always had problems when it came to social interaction. Either I’m outright rude, simply weird or just too shy to make any interaction at all.

I tried to push myself to be more social, to not let my shy part just stay there. But that wasn’t the answer. Just being weird or rude isn’t making my social skills any better.

So I should try to accept more.

Yeah… accept more…

Like accepting the fact that I was about to harm a powerless person because of personal anger.

Instead of showing strong determination.

“I accept my defeat here.”

“There is no true defeat in life besides death. And the moment even death can’t defeat you, you have already won more than just the game.”

“Another of his advice?”

“One of so many… Anyway. You should get back to your class and focus on enjoying your remaining time.”

“But how when all of them saw my intent?”

“Do you really think no one suspected you being an awakened after that day? You even had your pressure partially released the day after that accident and now just a week ago, there was this mysterious fighter that protected the school from a maniac supervillain. If anything, those that didn’t suspect a thing should use their heads more.”

“Then it means that was it with me concealing my identity…”

“You should still remember that you are still human, no matter what. And making mistakes is something even Akira could make. And besides, no one has proof besides Jenise, Felix and Gina being a witness and Alyssa being an accomplice. And your reputation is already so low, no one wants to even believe something like the person they bullied became someone that could destroy this building in a matter of seconds.”

“Please don’t. You are hitting exactly where it hurts.”

“That means I’m doing my job. Now go back to class before the teacher will feel even more offended by your actions.”

“Alright. I’ll excuse myself.”

“Oh! And before you go!”

SWUSH

Throwing something at me that seemed to be a wooden box, I looked inside it, revealing a Japanese fox mask.

Wait. Japanese?

“Akira gave that one to me a while ago for a certain thing I had to do. Said he had someone make it for him with his preferred design in mind. This artefact has some pretty neat functions. One of them-”

“Change the colour of the hair and eyes, mask any kind of scent from the wearer, enhance brain func-”

“Yes yes… you can already tell.”

“Yeah… but the flaw here is that some functions are too high grade for the artefact to be only an [Uncommon] grade artefact. So whoever made this, had sealed most of them before giving it to Gramps.”

“Actually no. Akira said that almost all functions were sealed so the artefact would become even usable for [Mortalis] realm people. I needed time to unseal a couple so that your friend can use it much better than the previous owner.”

“Wow… thank you so m-”

Smiling, he waved his hand at the door and before I knew it, I was already next to the secretary's desk in front of his door.

“-uch…”

Didn’t even let me thank him properly for this mask. I can tell that it was already a finished product with all the potential it had used. Even unsealed and me having the power, I couldn’t upgrade this artefact in any way.

It was a traditional Japanese fox mask with the coloured lines actually being the runes. And if I see it correctly, it must be…

Ge’ez? That is interesting to see Ethiopian runes here. But I can tell one thing and that is whoever inscribed these runes was extremely good at it.

This craftsmanship was so good that I even forgot the rude behaviour of the principal.

But I had nothing to complain about now since my mind has been cleared a little, got the mask I ask for from the principal and I walked out of here with a new idea in my mind. One that I believe won’t change that quickly.

“So what happened?”

“The target got affected by it with the right amount.”

“So you actually do your job pretty well for that price.”

“What price? I am only helping out the younger brother of my master, sir.”

“Good dog. Brother! What should we do now?”

Walter looked back to his brother, Niklas, after handing a man with long, unkempt hair and a scar across his eyes a couple of fancy-looking bottles filled with a liquid that even he is unsure of.

“Now, we wait for father’s approval.”

“But why wait for his response when we have every material we need to start your plan.”

“We do but we won’t be able to move as easily after he enters.”

“Who?”

“Three… two… one…”

BANG

Pointing with his finger guns at the door of his own, smaller room, Niklas's smile stayed the same although the door that he had been pointing at was almost ripped out of the wall.

“What do you think you are doing with the warehouses that were under MY control, bastard!”

“Hey! Don’t talk to big brother like th-”

“Shut the fuck up, wuss!”

BOOM

A hit someone would never expect but Walter flew back, hitting and almost breaking through the wall. The person who just hit Walter fixed his fallen dark orange hair and clothes as they got a bit of dust on them.

“I swear, if it wasn’t for this, I’d never even entered your ro… What the fuck do you think you are doing here, Dinis!”

“I-”

“Don’t answer now, shithead! I need to clear this one first!”

Dinis lowered his head as he bowed his head to him.

Taking a deep breath, the person that just bombarded this room with his shouts looked angrily at Niklas.

His hair was darker than Walter’s and his body slightly less muscular but besides that, they were almost identical. But looking at the clothes and how ‘different’ his attitude is, you could tell that he was treated way differently than the others while growing up.

“Why would you break my door now, dear brother?”

“Don’t even think about calling me that. You are just a little bastard. So address me as you should.”

Taking a deep breath to hide the bulging vein on his forehead, Niklas slightly bowed his head to repeat his sentence one more time.

“What brings you all the way to my humble room, young master Maximilian?”

“You know exactly why I’m here! How dare you transfer everything that was in warehouse thirteen to warehouse thirty-six? And after all of that, even losing one chest!”

“Sire, it was because of that one intruder that ordered your men to bring the stuff to my own warehouse.”

“And how the fuck do you know that someone was coming.”

“I just knew?”

“You just knew?! You just fucking knew?!”

Grabbing the expensive bottle of scotch that was on the little table next to Niklas’s chair, he lifted it before…

CRACK

He hit Niklas with it right on the head, soaking the poor bastard with his favourite scotch.

“I won’t just stand for this anymore! I’m the one in control of my own things! Don’t even try to justify your actions and start begging me for mercy like you alwa-”

“That’s enough, Maximilian!”

“Father!”

“I welcome you to my humble room, master. I’m sorry that I have to present myself like this and not properly welcomed you.”

The master of the Peltro Family, Sebastian Peltro, entered the room and as anyone would have guessed, his strong presence was enough to make anyone ignore what they were doing and bow deeply to him.

Or else, they might have lost their heads.

His dark orange hair was kept perfectly with his full attire. He looked nothing but noble even if his heart was rotten to the core.

And entering the room of this bastard made him show a bit of that rotten part of him, disgusted for even being in here even if it was for something important.

“Spare yourself with the idle chat and let’s all get to the point. From now on, I’ll lend you about twenty elites of the [Discipulus] realm. I believe with your thought-out plan, this number should be enough, right?”

“Yes, sire! I’ll do my best to make the plan become a complete success.”

“Good. We have already lost our standing with all the Families because of one failure. Don’t make it become a habit and show the world what it means to mess with a Peltro.”

“Yes.”

“Good. Maximilian, come with me.”

“But-”

“Now.”

“Yes, father.”

And just like that, they left the room as it was. Dinis followed behind his master, Maximilian out of the room, leaving only Niklas and his almost unconscious brother Walter on the floor.

But before Niklas looked at his brother, dark orange energy moved from his body, trying to repair the door and everything that has been broken by the two unwanted guests.

All while clenching his teeth together with all the anger he possessed.

“Are you alright?”

“Never… been…better…”

“Seems that fucker advanced a realm.”

“Yeah… I can tell…”

Trying to stand up, Walter patted his clothes with his left hand before moving closer to his brother.

“So? are we starting as soon as possible?”

“Patience, little brother. If we jump in right now, we won’t come far. And besides, we should let the parasite we planted destroy everything from the inside a bit. We are taking your revenge here, after all. Everything has to be perfect for my little brother.”

“Understood. But then when?”

“Thursday. I have to get someone special for everything to work perfectly. Ehehehe…ehehahahaha! AHAHAHAHA!”

“AHAHAHAHAHA!”

And soon, several extreme peals of laughter escaped his mouth, even reaching outside of the room and making any servant stay away from it.

And soon, their preparations will bear fruit, bringing more chaos into all of this than they would have ever expected.
