"Oh?"
Lola smiled with interest and gestured for Anno to continue.
"Every year in the spring, the activity of demonic creatures increases dramatically. From time to time, they attack the villages and towns around Valcam City!"
Anno's tone suddenly became serious as he looked at Lola and asked, "Miss Lola, don't you think that Valcam City is a bit crowded now?"
"What do you mean?" Laura frowned slightly.
The development of Valcam had always been smooth, and it was entirely due to her father, Viscount Raynor.
Now that Anno had the intention to criticize Valcam, Laura was naturally unhappy inside.
Anno knew that Lola misunderstood herself and hurriedly explained.
"Please don't misunderstand, I don't mean anything else.
As far as I know, Valcam City was originally just a border city of 200,000 people, but now 300,000 people are living there.
The extra 100,000 are almost all escaped from the surrounding villages and towns that were attacked by the monsters.
Over the years, the villages and towns around Valcam have been decreasing.
Now the southern border of the kingdom, there are less than forty villages and towns left, right?"
What Anno said was the information he gathered in the city in the past two days.
On the surface, Valcam was prosperous, and the streets were full of pedestrians.
But the truth is, the population of Valcam is already about to exceed the threshold!
The extra people should have been living in the surrounding villages and towns.
But under the attack of the monsters, these villages and towns have now turned into ruins.
The reason for this is simply because the power within Valcam City is not enough to scatter to protect the surrounding towns, which is why these tragic events keep happening.
More and more villages and towns were being destroyed, but the number of monsters didn't seem to have decreased at all.
"So?"
Lola's good-looking eyebrows furrowed together, not understanding what Anno meant.
"I think that the reason why the monsters are rampant is that we have always been passive in defense and have basically never taken the initiative to attack!"

Anno's voice suddenly became louder as he stood up from his seat and pointed outside, "If we let the professionals of Valcam get out of the city and take the initiative to clean up the monsters, then the safety of the surrounding villages and towns will naturally rise!"
Lola had expected Anno to come up with some unique insights, but she didn't expect that what she said was all nonsense.
If Valcam's professionals could take the initiative, would her father have waited until now?
"Mr. Anno, you came here to seek my father's cooperation just to say this?"
If Anno nodded her head, it would mean that the other party was nothing more than that.
But Anno shook her head!
"No, no, no, Miss Lola.
Lord Viscount is the one who can govern a city of 300,000 people in an orderly manner, so he must have thought about such a problem.
It's just that, for some reason, this method simply can't be carried out!"
Anno narrowed her eyes at Lola and whispered three words.
"Mercenary group!"
After Anno's investigation, except for the very few mercenary regiments in the city that was on Viscount Raynor's side, the rest of the mercenary regiments had allied long ago.
To get a higher bounty, they deliberately did not pick up the monster rewards offered by the Viscount, resulting in tragic events happening constantly.
Every spring, they can't wait for the monsters to make some noise, so they can get more bounty.
Such people, it is impossible to expect them to come out of Valcam of their own accord.
Lola grew up smart and clever, and after the age of fifteen began to help Viscount Raynor handle the city's affairs.
Viscount Raynor also intends to train Lola, the only son.
Now at the age of eighteen, Lola has actually taken over many things in the city.
Therefore, she is also clear about the actions and ideas of the mercenary corps.
When she heard Anno say the words mercenary corps, a glint flashed in her eyes.
"The mercenary corps is only for the bounty of the professionals, unless the monsters attack the city, otherwise not under the jurisdiction of my father.

And the city's guards are already relatively small, and also guard the safety of the city and the village, it is impossible to go out of the city to hunt monsters!"
After Lola told the reason, her gaze was inquisitive.
"What do you think, what to do?"
"I checked, based on the rough calculation of the seals issued by each profession, the professionals of the Valcam City Mercenary Corps add up to more than two thousand five hundred people.
And then excluding the one thousand Chamber of Commerce guards who have been traveling between the various cities, the seven hundred or so guards stationed in the city, and the surrounding villages and towns, there are still nearly a thousand professionals in the city!
Among these thousands of people, although 90% of them are level 0-5 professionals, there are also strong people who exist like Mark.
These people can be completely used up!"
Lola didn't expect Anno to investigate the number of professionals in the city so well.
But she still didn't know what use could be made of these uninspiring professionals who were either screened out by the mercenary corps and the Chamber of Commerce, or those who were withdrawn and solitary.
"I know, these people are low-talented.
After they are eliminated, they don't have enough resources and basically cut off the possibility of further promotion.
But while talent is important, hard work and sweat are equally important.
Who can guarantee that among these thousands of people, there won't be strong people?
But now, they couldn't join the mercenary corps and the chamber of commerce, so they had no commissions or money to upgrade, and could only do the same work as ordinary people in the city.
This is a great waste!
More than that, every resident in the city could choose to become a professional.
But because of the presence of these thousands of people, it makes them feel that even if they work hard to become a professional, they may still end up as ordinary people.
At that time, the 5 silver coins for learning basic skills would not be returned.
With this kind of thought existing, the residents of the city will be less willing to become professionals.
I think this is the reason why there are only five thousand professionals out of three hundred thousand people!"
"Even if you're right, there are buried people among them.
But we can't, nor can we afford to train everyone for just a few people who might be buried!"
Lola felt that Anno had a point, but it was basically impossible to change the status quo.
The power of the magic creatures need not be mentioned.
And most of those picked leftover professionals were only level 2 or 3.
Without a senior professional to lead them, they simply don't have the strength to go out and hunt monsters alone.
The Viscount is also more unlikely to entrust the task to them - if they did, it would be completely to let these people send to their death.
The corners of Anno's mouth rose wildly.
After saying so much and laying so much groundwork, the topic was finally led to this.
"I didn't say to let Lord Viscount train them, but I have a way to let them train themselves! When they grow up, they can completely relieve Lord Viscount's worries!"
Lola's eyes lit up and she hurriedly asked after them, "What method, tell me quickly!"
"This method, it will take some time to see the results, also need the Viscount Lord's support ......"
Anno "heyhey" smiled and began to discuss with Lola.
The natural way is to start an adventurer's guild so that the city's professionals are registered as adventurers, and then take on tasks to make money.
The tasks here are different from the large tasks taken by the mercenary corps.
The adventurers' guild started with small tasks so that low-level adventurers have the opportunity to develop.
And these tasks will need the help of Viscount Raynor to provide.
This is also Anno's mouth 'Viscount Lord's support.

Forced Development (What does it truly mean to live a fulfilling life?)
To get things started I would like to admit that this story does not bring much new to the table when it comes to the over-saturated Litrpg genre in terms of things like mechanics and power systems. Then what exactly am I trying to bring to the table with this work? A nice slow-paced novel about people maturing and growing older think of it as the re: zero or jobless reincarnation of Litrpgs. A story that tries to take into consideration how a worldwide system would affect the economics and culture of a world. A story that is much more character-focused than the typical heavy progression-focused novels this genre is known for. The RPG system, like any good power system, is there to actually explore the themes of the story and not just as a plot device for characters to get stronger. This is a story where we will see the growth of the Mc from being a baby to when he dies of old age. With plenty of heart-racing actions and intriguing plot developments along the way. Exploring themes like; What does it mean to improve at something and what does it mean to mature as a person? How does magic, the constant threat of monsters and people so much stronger than the average joe that they can destroy countries affect one's culture both on the micro and the macro scale? How people are affected by the culture in general? Generational trauma Nature vs Nurture Talent vs hard work What is morality, society, and people's opinions on both? What does it mean to be human and what does it mean to be alive in the context of a world with multiple sapient species vastly different from one another in basic biology? All these questions are going to be explored from multiple angles using the system as a catalyst for those discussions. So if any of does questions sound interesting to you what are you waiting for, I'm sure you are going to love this story. PS - Chapter come out every Friday at about the same time.
