《One Versus Destiny》Chapter 80: The Thousand Dragons

I killed the remaining three deviants and waves, and was on the thousandth monster wave. It was a thousand of the dragons that had destroyed Magicspestone.

I knew my category was equal to them, and Doom’s grandfather, at jade-category, killed them like I killed the porcupines. However, they were dragons.

A dragon’s scales were the bane of all attacks. Its breath was the harbinger of death. I knew the name of more than one jade-category who died against a ruby-category dragon. Worst of all, I didn’t have an ace like the World Warper to take them out. Its aura was also domineering to most. At short range, its claws and fangs injected venom. At normal category, the claws were sharper than uncut diamonds.

This is all to say that a dragon is a very powerful enemy. It was considered a legendary creature. The only perfected races were dragons, demigods, sphinxes, hydras, and a type of specter called oms. To put it in comparison, a deviant was only an arcane race. The order of race types was common (humans, Earth’s animals, and things like that), uncommon (elves, scalekin, insectoids, and things like that), rare (outsiders, a race called gestaltians, and things like that), legendary (mostly undead), mythic (mostly sapient plants), arcane, and then perfected. In addition, there were true-races, one rarity ahead of normal, pseudo-g races, two rarities ahead of normal, and g-races, four ahead of normal. A human would be common, and a guman, the g-race of a human, would be mythic.

I saw a system message for what they were. Gragons.

Gragons were the g-race of dragons. They were so powerful they could annihilate the city of Chicago in one breath.

I pulled up a core I had stolen from the Americans. I ate it.

I ran towards the dragons. First, three dragons from the left flank died. Then, seventy-two dragons on the right flank died. All had died of the same thing-beheading.

I stabbed through the spine of the leader.

I jumped up and did a flying side kick on a dragon in the front, taking four dragons out of commission. I started a wanton slaughter of the dragons, combining perfect swordplay with powerful afflictions and ultimates related to death.

Soon, only six dragons remained. I was charred and missing a leg, but I didn’t care.

I condensed a ball of mana. It was soon so condensed that it, only the size of a beach ball, could destroy the country of China.

It exploded, not damaging me.
