《INTO THE ARCHAILECT》CHAPTER 10

Two months had passed since Moyo was stuck in this dungeon, inch by inch he had fought for every part of the landscape he had explored, fought till he bled, till his bones broke from attacking monsters higher than him and healing back. His hair had grown in a rough form, flowing down towards his shoulders and tied to his head with a piece of cloth. Twitching a bit as he sat on a rock in the middle of the jungle, meditating as he refined the aether shards in front of him, a pit had been dug up to his side and the carcasses of different creatures roasted above it on a skewer made of sticks.

Moyo breathed in, exhaling as he opened his eyes, noticing the creatures of the dungeon that seemed to observe him from afar, they had learnt the hard way not to attack him in a one-on-one fight, he was the new top predator in the forest. Frowning at that thought he looked towards the mountain in the distance where the supposed dungeon boss resided, he had thought with him rampaging around in the forest the boss would have decided to come charging down in retaliation with a new predator around. For weeks he had rampaged around the jungle, trying to get a glimpse at what it was to no avail, Moyo was getting frustrated.

Without being able to guess the kind of creature the boss was, he was going in blind, that was a problem for later, now he wanted to clear his way to the mountain. Standing up he brought up his stat table, smiling to himself at the boost in his level

Name: Moyosore

Path: crushing blade

Body: titans shield (+50% defense against mental attacks)

Race: human

He had been stockpiling his points for no reason other than the thrill of fighting handicapped, feeling generous he proceeded to use them. His strength was fine for now, what he needed were endurance and willpower. Not to brag but his body could handle whatever punishment was brought against him, he needed to reduce the fatigue and increase his mental capacity to handle more battle intent his core managed to churn out. With that finalized he added 80 to both endurance and willpower respectively, mentally accepting them as a rush of energy coursed through his body, his mind sharpened, he felt his body and mind brimming with power, grinning as he stared at the table again,

Nodding in satisfaction he began walking towards the direction of the mountain, his willpower spreading his perception out in a circumference around him, his metal pole on his shoulders as he began jogging, feeling the eyes of the denizens of the jungle as they followed him, well, what was left of them anyway. Turning abruptly, he blasted towards the direction of the remaining creatures the observed him. Bursting out within their midst and unleashing his domain of blades among them, snorting as he got no notifications of his skills going upwards, only his level going up two digits. Staring at the body parts that surrounded him, Moyo sidestepped the gore and blasted forward towards the base of the mountain.

Halting as he got to the base of the mountain, standing in his front was what looked like a soldier ant standing on two legs, staring at him with its other limbs. Moyo stared at the info of the creature as it came up,

Evolved rucar hive soldier level 45

Moyo stared at the creature in silence, gripping his rod tightly, the rucar hive soldier not moving an inch. The soldier had glistening black carapace that looked bigger than its counterparts in the caves, its antennae were moving all around, its dark eyes staring blankly at Moyo. A subtle sense of power oozed from the insect, showing signs of sentience, Moyo knew well not to underestimate this creature. As he raised his pole to begin gathering battle intent, the soldier screeched and blasted forwards, crashing into Moyo with the force of a boulder.

Moyo felt the bones in his limbs snap, gritting his teeth as a shocking lance of pain went through his body, he twisted in the air, never wavering as he sent a series of edge of titans towards the soldier who right before his eyes blurred in the air, appearing next to Moyo who barely brought up his pole to block the attack the soldier threw his way. Again, the punch broke his barely healing arms again along with his rib cage.

Landing as he unleashed his domain of blades, producing an uncommon aether shard from the bundle he got off the dead creatures he had killed a few moments ago, taking it in and blasting it out as battle intent blades at the soldier that had entered his domain of edges. The soldier weathered the sharp edges in the air within the domain of blade, the sharp edges of the blades in the air sparking off its carapace. Moyo swung his pole wrapped with tightly controlled edge of the titan, bringing it down in a crashing arc of power, the soldier raising its arms up to block the strike, it was sorely mistaken.

With a determined finality the edge of the titan ripped through the arms of the soldier, the crushing force of the skill crumpled the chest of the creature, not before it spat out a shockingly straight accurate line of lava at Moyo whose battle reflexes managed to save his head from having a burning whole through it by twisting to the side. Shifting backwards to assess the damage he did to the creature, panting slowly, his endurance and willpower his saving grace. The insect gave him no respite, despite the crack on its chest carapace it came at him, once again unleashing his domain of blades Moyo stepped forwards to battle this monstrosity in a duel for endurance. Hits after hits, cuts after cuts the two traded blows, Moyo dimly aware that his skin had been cut open in places, seemingly being pumped with poison from the insect, realizing he should had expected it seeing as its lower form siblings did too.

Moyo was beginning to feel the effects of the poison as his body struggled to break it down quickly, his battle intent core squeezing the last dredges of battle intent, Moyo growled in determination, should his core become empty then he would beat the insect into submission. With his willpower he pushed his battle intent around the pole in a blast, pounding and ripping off the whole left side of the soldier as it screeched in pain, its bodily fluids pouring out in copious amounts.

With a mad dash he swung his pole with the last dredges of battle intent at the insect, the intent sizzling off as it got stuck in the cracked skull of the insect, and with all his strength he crushed the insect to the ground, tearing through the head in no small amount of gore. Having no more strength in him he crashed to the ground exhausted, the notifications flowing across his Hud,

Level 45!

Titans’ wrath(r)95!

Edge of the titan(u)25!

Domain of blades(u)15!

Moyos’ body fought off the poison in it, Moyo using his blood absorption skill on the dead rucar soldier, gaining a greater rucar poisoning perk, also the 10% increase in attribute points against insect creatures became 20%, wincing at the fact that the poison of that rucar soldier was stronger than even that of the hive queen. He had been lucky enough to end the fight as quickly as he did, grabbing the few uncommon shards the insects dropped and closing his eyes as he refined it into his core. He frowned again as he noticed the uncommon crystals were not enough to fill his core any longer, he was right then, it seemed his core was growing in depth or something. Producing the remaining uncommon aether shards with him he refined them also, nodding with satisfaction as it seemed to fill up a little more.

With his body healing at a rapid rate he sat up, calling up his stat table,

Name: Moyosore

Path: crushing blade

Body: titans shield (+50% defense against mental attacks)

Race: human

Level: 45 (initiate) (112points)

Title: bane of the hive

Skills:

Blood absorption(L) 9 Titans’ wrath(r)95 edge of the titan(u)25 domain of blades(u)15

attributes:

STR: 200 END:300 W.P:350 CNS: 200 DEX: 200 INT: 5

Sighing to himself as he was stuck at deciding with attribute to increase, the battle had proved that his strength, endurance and willpower as well as dexterity that governed his speed were lacking. Quietly ruminating he decided to throw it all in endurance, figuring to himself that his willpower held well in face of the creature, he had just run out of battle intent to use, his body had tanked the brutality and would continue to do so, but if he grew tired, if fatigue caught up to him in the middle of his fight with the next creature which could very well be the boss, he would be dead meat regardless of battle intent or not. Dumping the whole 112 points in endurance he felt his body grow thicker, his muscles stretching and solidifying in a stronger form he couldn’t put his hands on, all he knew was that it would take a greater and longer amount of time to bring him down.

Standing up he looked towards the mountain, grimly realizing that he was close to the boss,

But not today he thought to himself as he turned back towards his camp in the woods where his roasted meal awaited him. He would train harder, rank up his skills the hard way instead of using aether shards that he couldn’t even currently spare, and by a week from now he should be ready, or as ready as he could be.

Walking back into the forests he felt the whole forests become still as he gave off a…feeling, finally realizing that he did, it was like a switch bulb came on in his head, he willfully pushed out the feeling as a notification appeared in his Hud,

Congratulations! You have acquired skill: ambience of the swordsman! (u)1!

Smiling to himself as it levelled up quickly with him dashing through the forest and passing creatures that were filled with terror, he checked the info on the skill for the first time, frowning when he realized he never did so for domain of the blades and edge of the titan, he brought them all up at once:

Ambience of the swordsman(u): your presence now holds the sharp edge of one who wields the katana with blood on it, it fills your surrounding with it. Any sentient being withing your vicinity would be struck with overwhelming terror and a decrease in speed, note: being might break the hold of the skill if at a greater level than you.

Domain of the blades(u): your katana rings true in the air; you can gather battle intent in the air around you in a barrage of edges that cuts anything within its space!

Edge of the titan(u): your willpower and might has proven your right to wield the katana, you can gather a greater amount of battle intent on your blade as your very will crushes as well as cuts your opponent at the same time.

Reaching his camp he sat down, carefully analyzing his skills, noting that two of his skills dealt with his surroundings, controlling his surroundings to his favor to be exact. His mind began to wonder, could he fuse those two skills together?, he had no idea how he did it the first time though, perhaps using them both simultaneously could help?. With determination he released both his domain of blades and ambience of the swordsman together,

The domain sliced everything around him, wincing as it diced his meal also, he fused his willpower on both skills, noticing how they both interacted with his environment. The ambience held any sentient creature in place or slowed them down seeing as there were rarely any creature currently in the forest that could beat him and his domain of blades kept slicing through the air with sharp battle intent. Pondering to himself he tried imagining a skill that seemed to hold any being in place with his shear will but cut down any specific target he wanted with the power of his domain of blades, his willpower held strong as he began to feel his head throb,

Notice! Synchronity between skills: domain of blades and ambience of the swordsman, fuse? Y/N

Note: skills might drop or rise in tier depending on availability of aether shards!

Moyo smiled, producing a legendary aether shard from the folds of his robe, his master had given him one, holding on to the rest just in case of emergencies. He hadn’t deemed his fights necessary enough to use the shard, but he was about to try and create a new skill, he needed all the help he could get. Mentally accepting the fusing, he broke the aether shard as the pure aether in it was sucked up in a globe in front of it,

Evolving……calculating tier…. legendary aether shard available…. legendary aether shard absorbed…. calculating…success!

Notice!: skills domain of blades(u) and ambience of the swordsman have evolved into skill realm of the titan(r)!

Realm of the titan(r) level 10: you have decided to wield your very presence like a blade, your realm literally holds the power to cut down your foes at your will, again you have taken another step on the path of the swordsman as a titan!

Grinning and shouting in success as he felt mentally drained, reminding himself of the need to invest in his willpower next time should he have the chance, he grabbed a piece of the diced meat he planned on eating close to him as he bit into the hot oily body, the heat of the meat doing nothing to his skin, not even feeling any discomfort for someone who had bathed in literal lava.

He now had one legendary skill, two rare skills and one uncommon skill. Moyo smiled to himself, turning to look up at the mountain as he smiled,

Soon…very soon….

For the next week Moyo trained like hell, using every chance he had to unleash his realm, cutting down trees and creatures of the dungeon alike. Whenever his willpower waned, he would rest, meditate and continue. The realm itself had no need of battle intent, simply his domineering aura that rang true. Only when he decided to cut down anything did he wield the battle intent he had, the creatures he killed replenished his core for him anyways.

Finally getting the realm to level 20 and his level to 50, Moyo stood at the base of the mountain, staring above at the pinnacle, with a thought he brought up his table, deciding to put the 100 points he had gathered from making the dungeon a desolate wasteland as nothing remained in the now decimated jungle and its surroundings. He placed 50 in willpower and 50 in dexterity, he had a feeling he’d require his speed for this fight, mentally accepting it he felt lighter, his perception grew further as he sent his realm towards the mountain where a deafening roar replied his challenge.

Smiling to himself he looked at his new stat table,

Name: Moyosore

Path: crushing blade

Body: titans shield (+50% defense against mental attacks)

Race: human

Level: 50(Acolyte)

Title: bane of the hive

He had done it, from a bumbling fledgling he had made it to an acolyte, he had crossed three tiers in three months at an astonishing rate. Now as he prepared to go face the boss of the dungeon, Moyo felt no fear whatsoever, only the thrill of the battle, the fact knowing that he was about to go toe to toe with the boss of the dungeon on equal footing. With a grin he stepped to the bottom of the mountain, crouching and blasting upwards in a jump, a single thought in his mind,

The katana advances….
