《The Red Snowman》The King of Stone

Tiny orbs of lights, known as wisps, traveled far beyond the regions known as 'space'. It was their pilgrimage to the boundary of the unknown, which they greatly worshiped.
It took a multitude of times greater than eons to even cover a fraction distance of their journey. Many wisps gave up on their way, many settled down in one of the purple twirls, or in other astronomical locations, many passed the duty to their children.
One couldn't count which generation finally reached their goal, but they were there. At one of the areas at the boundary of unknown.
At first, wisps were welcomed by a golden forest, where golden leaves were carried by the wind. Fruits of that garden cured all woes, such as bad mood, hunger, or injuries.
Many wisps stopped here and lost their watchfulness. Two beams of golden light flashed over a forest, and every wisp caught in the light turned to stone. Only the wisps hidden in the shadows of trees survived.
Leftover wisps were lost, many left, scared. Only a little group decided that they would look for answers in an attempt to save their comrades.
They left the forest and found themselves in front of an array of pawns – chess figures, who had a form of soldier statues, with shields, spears, and helmets. The number of pawns was uncountable, one could look in any direction and see no end to the figures.
Many years passed, during which more wisps gave up on their journey.
Those who endured arrived in front of what appeared like an infinite tower, that reached far beyond the clouds and skies.
The story of the tower is a long tale of tremendous proportions, one that couldn't be told by as simple and unproficient writer as me, but I will assure you that wisps faced many challenges along the way to the top of the infinite tower.

Yes, you heard me well, even If the tower was infinite, it still had a top and it could be reached. I may only ponder by what wonders was that possible.
At the top of the tower, was a round chessboard with monumental statues of knights on horses, that clashed against each other. The earth trembled with each blow, storms of dust covered the chessboard and swept the wisps away, many fell off the tower, who knows where they might now be...
Those who ventured farther towards the center reached a moat. Behind it were two colossal bishops with two hollow eyes at the top, they slowly rotated around their vertical axis and shone brightly with two beams of golden light which turned anything they touched into a stone.
At last, in the center was a stone queen. The largest piece of all. She wore a vast gown and held a sword with her both palms. Far over her head, the clouds formed a circle of thunder and lightning. Right above it hovered a restless, stone ocean. Rain of stone drops poured down the chessboard, drops crashed against the tiles, turning into fine dust and being carried away by the wind.
The wisps couldn't find the answers to their questions, since their only savior wasn't present there.
"Where is the king?" - The most courageous wisp approached and asked the queen.
"The King is Dead."
was the answer.

Magriculture (Rewrite)
When Aurum Industries announced the first Full Immersion Virtual Reality Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (FIVRMMORPG if you're hip) Limitless Online, most people saw it as an opportunity to live out their sword and sorcery fantasies. John, however, saw it as the opening of a new and as of yet uncrowded job market. One he was willing, and eager, to exploit. Determined to make money through virtual hard work and effort, John sets his sights not on the heights of magic or the perfection of the sword, but instead upon the tilling of the soil and the sowing of seeds as he explores the wide and wonderful world of magical agriculture all from the comfort of his own bed. Disclaimer: This is a rewrite of the original "Magriculture", which some of you may have read. (To those who did, you have my deepest gratitude, it is absolutely because of your patronage and comments that this rewrite happened, and I feel the story is better for it.) That said, this story is not a complete and polished work, there will be mistakes and errors, an occasionally these errors may mean I need to rewrite portions of the story (as of this posting the story has gone through two major rewrites already, and I'm seriously hoping there won't be need of a third.) Because of this, there may at times be changes. Such changes may be as small as editing a few numbers (such as going back and changing how much mana an object holds) or it may force me to re-write entire chapters (this has happened once already, and I'm really hoping it doesn't happen again, but... life). Minor re-writes will probably never be posted here. Major rewrites probably will. Anyway, what this boils down to is: If you're looking for a fully cohesive story with few to no errors and publisher level editing, this is not the story for you. If you're looking for a cohesive plot that's more than "Man farms, man farms, man farms well, man maybe makes money" you're probably also in the wrong place, but I will attempt to entertain you anyway.

Our protagonist finds himself placed in an unfamilar world; his highly magical studies are put to the test as he tries to integrate into a different, but still magical, universe. This story is not particularly heavy, and may, at times, feel somewhat whimsical. This is intended. If you're looking for a nice trip along with a man whose abilities don't entirely fit into his new home, be sure to give Inherit a try. [Participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge!]
