'Mission of Peace'

Ken and Marsha sat with their ‘college student’ daughter, Sarah.

‘Ring, ring’

Marsha answered the phone and hung up.

“Well?” asked Ken.

“Records expunged …” Marsha sobbed.

“Don’t be sad, Marsha. Sure it cost us our life savings, but she’s safe now.”

Marsha nodded.

Someone knocked on the front door.

“Sarah, it’s me, George!”

“Oh, it’s my boyfriend, let him in!” said Sarah.

George stepped inside, followed by an alien armed with a vaporizer.

“Traitor!” Sarah glared.

“Remember your promise,” said George.

“Yes, George, whatever you want.” The alien handcuffed Sarah. “These ‘woke humanists’ won’t ruin our ‘mission of peace.’”
