《Experiment 636》Chapter 10- Remember

Weeks passed. 636 was still chained in her cell. She had refused to eat anything so the doctors had to resort to crueler, more forceful means. It was… painful.

It wasn’t until the third week that the doctors decided she had enough time to calm down and brought her in for more tests. This time however, it was a fairly large group of people restraining her. Scared of what she might do.

636 couldn’t explain what she had done to the scientist who touched Seth’s body. She wanted him dead and he was dead. That’s all that mattered.

The doctors chained 636 to a chair and attached a large device to her head. There was a standard countdown before pain erupted through her brain. Images went in and out of focus and the pain grew more intense. A ringing noise bounced around her head as it ached.

It felt as though her mind was being crumpled and ripped apart. Memories flashed behind her eyes. They were trying to tear her apart. Trying to break her back into their perfect little experiment.

No! She wouldn’t let that happen.

She reached once again for the power that had remained dormant the past few weeks. Crush them. She was going to crush them.

The same blue and orange light emitted from her hand like mist. The power taking a visible form.

The guards noticed the light coming from 636 and shot a tranquilizer into her shoulder. She fought to stay awake, not wanting to give in.

This place doesn’t deserve to have you. No one belongs in a cage.

Seth’s words never left her mind. The doctors didn’t deserve her power.

The white walls started to crack and the table in front of 636 crumbled up into a distorted ball on the ground.

Another dart hit her shoulder but she still fought against the urge to sleep. She would not give in so easily. Not anymore.

A third and then a fourth dart broke her skin, finally putting her to sleep.

They performed the same test everyday for the next three months. Everyday they would chain her to the chair and dig into her brain. 636’s will to fight was growing smaller. All she wanted to do was sleep. To feel some sort of peace.

She was starting to forget. Memories were becoming jumbled together in confusing ways. Everyday her mind would physically heal but the subconscious was hard to put back together.

After she was returned to her cell she would repeat the same thing over and over again, in an attempt not to forget.

“I’m Experiment 636. I’m fourteen years old. His name was Seth. He was fifteen years old. They killed him. I’m Experiment 636. I’m fourteen years old. His name was Seth. He was fifteen years old. They killed him.”

They killed him. They killed him. They killed him.

636 would say it over and over every single day. She vowed to never forget the boy from cell 13. When she turned fifteen she added more to her vows.

“I am Experiment 636. I am fifteen years old. His name was Seth. He was fifteen when they murdered him. I will escape and find my name.”
