As we were about to drop the crickets on our back, suddenly a loud croak echoed that almost surprise me to death.
A large splash of water drove us away from the female frog and a large and strong male frog emerge, landing exactly beside the female frog.
"Hey, what do you think you're doing?" a sweet voice full of temptation echoed.
"What do you think? Don't.. don't you like it?"
"Hey! Get.. get down~ from my.. ah~"
"You sure? Don't you like me here above you?"
"But.... but.. what.. ah~ my husband! What if.. he saw us?"
"Come on, Froggie, how long did you think you're husband went out? It's almost been three days, but where is he now? Maybe he's already dead."
"Froggo, don't you dare say that!"
"Why? Did you love him? But don't you make him leave to be with me?!"
"Froggo! How dare you say that... Hey! You're hurting me now! Get off of me this instant!"
"What?! You bitch! How dare you love any man other than me?! Ha?!"
"Hey! It hurts! I don't want to mate with you! Get off.. ah~ ah~"
"You make me come here even when I'm from the other pond, and you said you don't want? Do you want to die?"
"Ah~ ah~"
The two frogs continue to unite their bodies for a while.
"Grey... Grey... did.. we just witness her cheating on her husband?"
"Damn her! How.. how dare she cheat on him? She deserves to die!"
"Hey, Grey.. calm down! You can't attack her. You know yourself that if we got in trouble, we could die from this point."
"So what?! I don't care! She.. she deserves to die!"
"Did you know how much Froggy loves her?! Did you know how would he feel if he was still alive and saw this scene?! You probably can't understand the guilt I feel right now! This guilt was engulfing me, so if I can't make her pay, then.. I.. I don't think what would I do."

"But... we can't do anything! We can't interfere with them!"
"Shine! I didn't force you to come with me. It's just that I don't care if I die, at least I give Froggy some justice!"
"Then what about you?! What if you truly die?! What will happen to those who wish you to live well? Why are you so selfless?"
"Shine, I don't want to argue with you. What is it to you if I'm selfless? And besides, it's not a certainty if I will really die or not."
"Grey, you know.. sometimes... being selfless is being selfish! You're selfish that you're only doing what you think is right? But what about the person who cares about you? Those who love you? Do you also think what would they feel if you die?"
"But.. I.. I didn't mean that.. way."
My anger was almost subdued as I saw the tears on Shine's face, the fear and firmness, that totally touch the bottom of my heart.
This is the third time someone got worried about me. It makes me remember my siblings and the person I love. It also makes me wonder about the feelings those who I love from my previous world would feel about my death.
"Grey.. let's calm down for a moment and think of a suitable way, okay?"
"If.. that's what you say."
"That's good, Grey. For now, let's accomplished the task Froggy has given you."
"Yeah.. okay."
I didn't know why, but I just can't bring myself to turn her down. Maybe it's because she is the only one who's just like me, or maybe I was just too lonely.
"Shine.. I just want.. to know.. you don't know me nor do I know you.. but why I do feel like you know me too well? And why.. why would you get worried about a stranger?"

"Wh-what? Grey.. you're not a stranger to me, and I'm not a stranger to you right?"
"Ye--yes."
"If you saw someone in trouble, even if you don't know that person, will you help or not?"
"I.. I will.. help of.. course."
"So.. did that answer your question?"
"So... It's just out of empathy."
I can't help but felt a bit disappointed, but I don't really know why.
"Why do you seem to be disappointed?"
"What? No.. I'm.. I'm not."
The two of us then wait for the male frog to leave the Froggie alone before we bring the crickets.
"Hey."
"Who's.. who's there?"
"Look down. We're in front of you."
Shine called the Froggie to look down on us, but we didn't expect that a long and flexible tongue will quickly strike the place where the two of us were standing. If not for our level to be promoted to 3, we might get inside the stomach of a frog.
"Hey! How dare you attack us! You better stop you're tongue or else we will kill you!"
"Eh?! You.. you can talk to me?"
"If not.. then why did you understand?"
"What do you want from me?"
"We're just here to deliver these crickets."
"Crickets?"
"Hahaha... So you already forgotten about it? Well, you might get happy if I tell you some bad news."
"Hey.. what.. are you talking about? Why did you give me crickets? Is it Froggy?"
"So, you still know his name? I thought you already forgot because of your new man."
"You! How.. how did.. you know? You.. can't possibly be watching us?"
"So what? Froggy has been killed by some animals, and he gives us these crickets to bring to you."
"You'll probably be happy? Right? Because he's already gone. You can be with him now."
"What? What.. did you.. say?"
"We said that your husband was killed. He was killed while trying to impress you. But too bad, the one he love was actually cheating!"
"Well, I hope you would be happy with your new man, bitch!"
"You! You.. you're lying, right?"
"Why would we lie? You can live freely from now on."
The two of us didn't want to talk with the frog, and although I still want to teach her some lesson.. I give it up and we then leave the pond.
I don't know how would that frog would react, but I don't care anymore! Such bitch deserves to die.
The two of us, since Shine promised to bring me somewhere once again begin a new journey.
"Congratulations to the host to drive an ordinary frog into despair and committing suicide. Able to obtain a part of the frog that can be mimicked: Hind Legs. The host level increased by 0.5.
Note: This is a rare killing. The two hosts were able to drive a pregnant frog into despair and commit suicide by using insulting words. The two hosts are able to obtain Hind legs and Forelegs. Also able to obtain 1 point."

The Oresteia (Modernized)
All three of the great Greek Tragedians have written plays about the bloody chain of murder and revenge within the royal family of Argos. Yet theirs is in fact not a story of tragedy, but rather one of redemption. As they move from darkness to light, from rage to self-governance, from primitive ritual to civilized institution, their spirit of struggle and regeneration becomes an everlasting song of celebration to be heard throughout the ages. Forming a discourse set against the emergence of Athenian democracy out of a period of chaos and destruction, the Orestian plays are compelling stories of the tensions between our obligations to our families and the laws that bind us together as a society. In the beginning, we witness how a king’s decision to sacrifice his daughter and turn the tide of war inflicts lasting damage on his family, culminating in a terrible act of retribution. In the aftermath of regicide, we behold how a son must set out to avenge his father’s death by committing a most egregious sin. In the end, the sinner is tormented by supernatural powers that can never be appeased, but ultimately finds redemption and ends the curse on his house once and for all. Woven through all of this is the story of a friendship so close that it elevates itself to brotherhood - Where the blood of the covenant is shown to be indeed thicker than the water of the womb. In this very brief twelve-chapter modern rendition of the Orestian plays, I have chosen to place my focus mainly on the lives of the characters Orestes and his best friend Pylades. The chapters, each around 2000-2500 words, are split up evenly between them in first-person narrative. I hope that you will come to enjoy reading this heartwarming story, but more importantly, that you see how the conflicts portrayed in the story, whether human or institutional, are still much very relevant to our societies today. Note on Sources: The details of this story is very loosely based on The Oresteia by Aeschylus. And I mean very loosely. Other sources that I referenced for detail and inspiration are Mythology by Edith Hamilton, Electra by Sophocles, and Iphigenia in Tauris by Euripides. You may also find that I have quoted some of these works, and others (such as Shelley's Ozymondaeus), without citations (average of 1-2 such quotes per chapter). I did this because I do not have the ability to describe certain scenes nearly as well as some of those writers. If you read a particularly beautiful piece of prose here, chances are it's probably stolen lol. Also, I wrote this during the summer between my high school senior year and my college freshmen year. It was the summer of 2020, and being quarantined apparently gets my creative side out lol.
