Kimi Seiko sat on the cool stone outcropping high above the village below, thinking about what her spooky friend just explained. After a few minutes humming it over, she finally said, “Okay, so it’s the Keystone.”

“I think the White Temple had a different name for it,” Morgan said. “Something melodramatic, like their leader’s. They’d always been like that.”

“Yeah, and when you remember, we’ll call it that.” Kimi shook her head. “Anyway, they’re swarming this place because of the Keystone, right?”

“I believe that when I activated it, the stone briefly connected to the World Net, and the local metafauna noticed.”

“So, this plan of yours is going great.”

“What should we do?”

“Those are serious professionals down there. They’ll hold back the monsters, for a while, but eventually will need to evacuate. Our opportunity comes after they leave, though we might want a few more of those… things.”

Morgan gave her a pensive look, then said, “I can’t do it quickly.”

“It’s fine.”
