《Interpersonal Chemistry》atonement

Mitch readjusted the rearview mirror, and a smile crept up on his face when it reflected the guitar in the back seat; it wasn’t in perfect shape by any means, but hopefully this was a step in the direction for atonement.
When he got home, he left the other two guitars in the trunk and grabbed the black one to bring inside. Thinking better of it, he turned back and grabbed a Chlorox wipe from out of the glove box, then cleaned the lacquer veneer. Once he was satisfied with his work, he sprinted up the front porch stairs and began to look around for signs of Avi on the first floor. When he couldn’t find him in the livingroom or kitchen, Mitch hurried up the stairs and knocked on his bedroom door. The entire time, he couldn’t stop vibrating.
“Hello?” came Avi’s voice from the other side, and Mitch gulped.
“It’s me,” Mitch responded, ignoring how stupid he suddenly felt. “I know it’s late, but-” The door creaked opened, Avi’s bemused face peeked through the crack and caused Mitch’s hands to tremble. This would have been much easier to convey over text, he realized “I. Uh, this-” He held the guitar out by the neck, putting a little more space between them. “This is for you.”
“Wait, what?” Avi’s eyes went wide as they landed on the guitar. “This isn’t yours?”
“No, it’s yours. My friend, well, bandmate. And friend. Darius is his name,” Mitch rambled as the door swung open, Avi in nothing but thin gym shorts emerging from it as he gently took the guitar from Mitch’s grasp. “I bought it off of him. It’s yours.” Though he specifically wanted to avoid the word ‘bought’, Mitch could barely focus on anything other than keeping himself from sputtering.

“You bought me a guitar?” Avi’s smile spread wide. “For no reason?”
“Yes,” Mitch nodded. “Well, no, there’s reasons. Because we’re friends. And I owe you so, so much at this point. Thus. Guitar.”
“Oh my god, that’s maybe the nicest thing that anyone’s ever done for me!” exclaimed Avi as he admired his gift.
“Well it’s kind of beat up, but I’ll tune it for you tomorrow. And re-string it. And I’ve got a bunch of picks that you can have,” offered Mitch. “I didn’t have any time to do that tonight.” In retrospect, he should have taken care of all of that ahead of time, but the excitement of finally having something to offer to Avi clouded his judgment.
“Take your time, I won’t be able to practice until after Graveyard Smash, anyway.” Avi shrugged, then set the guitar down on the floor next to him and leaned up against the doorframe. “But thank you. I really appreciate this.”
“Hey, you’re the one that keeps investing your time in playing. And me, I guess, heh. It’s the very least that I could do,” Mitch rubbed the back of his neck. “Anyway, I’m gonna crash. Have a good night.”
“You too. Sleep well,” Avi responded, still in the doorway while Mitch turned on his heel and escaped to Jodie’s room. He turned back to look just once, and caught Avi watching him from down the hall; he appeared to be surprised before shifting into his usual friendly demeanor. Mitch gave a small wave, his face and chest hotter than the surface of the sun, and Avi waved back.
He practically dove behind Jodie’s door to escape further scrutiny, his heart thundering so hard that he worried it may bruise a rib.

Ashes of the Primordial
With the upcoming shutdown of the servers for Ragnarok Games’ deep dive VRMMO, ‘Ashes of the Primordial’, the player log of those online for the final night was depressingly empty-looking. A revolutionary level of realism drove Ashes to the forefront of the games market, billions of players enjoying their journey to power and glory as an avatar of their own creation. The final enemy of the game-world defeated, the company announced, in line with their stance from launch, that they would be shutting down the game exactly six months after the defeat of Sutr, the final boss. Ammanas, the player responsible for Sutr's defeat, stays online until the end. However, as the countdown hits 0, the start-hub of his dive rig (what would typically greet a forced ejection from a game) was no where to be seen and instead darkness greets him as he fades into unconsciousness. Awakening to unfamiliar sights in an unfamiliar body, one which turns out to be a lot more familiar than he first thought, now he must figure out where, how, why and what to do with the new world he finds himself in. Author note: I don't own the cover, just something found through a google search. This is also my first story and the MC will basically be unimaginably OP yet never really utilising his full power. He just wants to find somewhere to fit in to the new world he finds himself in and despite both his nature as a loner and his interests he will find himself forming connections with the denizens of this new realm. Hope you enjoy

Truck-kun Gets Sacrificed
Driscoll is my own version of a world with a game-like "system" of endless possibilities. MC has his own status, classes, skills, magic, and a living greatswordstaff in a world of monsters, demi-humans of all kinds, and even the supernatural. Sound good? Well, at first for Tru, it was a dream come true(I'm sorry). At least until reality hits him again and again. His quest from God is vague and must be discovered by him along the way. Hopefully, he can figure that out someday but for now, this new world's threats and his potential for power are motivation aplenty. With His new partner by his side, he's ready to embark on his mission of infinite sacrifice, however many lives it takes. The setting is pretty standard for fantasy, with my beginner attempts at writing. Litrpg elements are definitely involved here but It'll calm down as the story progresses and the world's foundation is laid. Judeo/Christian themes and principles take a major role and will be a backbone for much of the story. The fights will paint a picture in the mind rather than just be a bunch of number crunching. While he is meant to be a sacrifice to save all of Driscoll, he needs to gain enough power and influence to be a worthwhile sacrifice, or so he thinks. And so carnage will ensue as he avoids death as best he can while at the same time sacking himself for others. Truck Coon is your average determined, jiu-jitsu practitioner, tax associate that just started his new career. He dies to save kids from a semi-truck(Truck Coon got truck-kun'd, making him Truck-kun) and is transported to another world rather conventionally by God. Upon his arrival, he is quickly confronted with his first conflicts in the wild. Give it a shot and let me know what you think. Chapters are currently between 2300 and 4000 words and I try to post weekly, but also deal with severe limitations that cause late posts often. I have zero actual experience with writing stories and only recently started reading web novels in 2020. If you end up hating it, let me know your thoughts in a detailed comment or review, especially if you love it though :D I want to get better and welcome the feedback, so expect changes to be made with any flaws that y'all point out which I don't already have plans to address in future chapters. That being said, keep it constructive in nature, please. I have no Idea how the formatting and such will go, so if you like or dislike some techniques I try, give me that well-appreciated feedback! Thank you for reading.
