《Gerald the Dungeon Companion》What is important?

Obviously I’l have ta go about and see what’s worth drinking or no, Gerald thought whilst wetting his lips.
It would require him having to brew some potentially poisonous fruits if he were unable to identify any fruits or tubers that would be usable in the nearby vicinity. But his herbalism and bushcraft skills would be more than up to the task, having pestered a very esteemed druid for some training back in the day.
1.FIND ME A DRINK
Having taken care of the most important task, Gerald was left feeling slightly stumped as to what would be a worthy secondary endeavour to pursue.
Looking around for inspiration, he spotted his bush which sparked off an idea.
What’s a good drink if you dinnae have a nice cosy place to sleep it off when you’ve had too much?
So down it went into his list.
2.MAKE MYSELF A PLACE TO REST
Ach well, if I was goin’ta go about and think about sleep, then I might as well add food ta the list.
3.GET ME SOME GRUB
Then realising that it would be more important for him to have food and not have to commit suicide whenever he was hungry rather than having a good nap, he swapped the third and second entries in his list. He did so by crossing out the numbers before adding their changed positions next to each entry.
Ok now I sorted myself out, what am I to do for the kid?.... Obviously we’d be needing more monsters so that’s going on ta list.
4.FIND BEASTIES
But where would I stop? How strong would they have ta be? Would the kiddo not be needing other things? What a’makes a good dungeon? He wondered.
Then recalling how Isaldra’s own stretched over many levels of which there was a multitude of environments and biomes, he surmised that it had something to do with variety. Whether it be from vegetation, minerals or treasure he wasn’t sure in what level of importance. What he was sure that there needing to be variety in the hazards available to challengers.

A trippy mushroom forest with two weak-ass monsters wasn’t going to cut it.
He wasn’t too sure as to how he was to label such a wide topic so he kept it simple.
…
Meanwhile behind Gerald, Lorry lumbered into the clearing to see what was going on.
In it’s black and white vision his maker shone in her green brilliance as usual whilst resting against the weird little creature. Seeing nothing off, he then lumbered back into the mushroom-trees to continue in his work.
…
5.GET MORE STUFF
Now that Gerald was satisfied with his list, he concluded that he should be doing his job whilst he was at it. For Gerald wasn’t particularly keen at the idea of pissing off the Queen of dungeons and consequently getting hunted down by a legion of Swallows at her disposal if he were to fail in his task. Such as get his charge killed or going about not knowing what pencils were. It was just frankly embarrassing.
6.TEACH KIDDO
Then just as he was just about to wrap it all up, he still felt a slightly bothersome irking feeling. It was as if he had missed something important.
Then recalling the whole reason for his list, he added his final job to it.
7.GET REVENEGE ON THE BLACK LIZARD
Feeling slightly chuffed with himself at some work well done, he went over it once more before putting his notepad and pencil away into his ring of holding. He also decided to nap himself a dozen pencils but left the rest as they were. There was no point in cluttering up his limited storage with useless items after all.
He just about to get up from his seat and get on with the first items on his to-do list but chose not to. This was due to how Silky was still seemingly still taking a nap against his leg, so he decided that staying put for a few moments longer would do no one any harm.
Actually now ta I think of it, what’s inside? He wondered whilst holding his ring up for inspection.

I'd like to say something like this is a unique story, blah-blah, but it's not. The story itself is your typical fantasy story with magic, fightings, plot armors, good friends, beautiful ladies and whatever there always is in such stories. I pretty much enjoy typical stories. So I've decided to write one myself. The only thing is the story isn't going to be centered about the Main Character. So let's leave all of the above to him, we'll meet him eventually anyway. This is the story of MC's counterpart. While our greatest Main Character conquers the world, cultivates, and whatever else, what does his destined other half do? Sit and stoically wait for him to come out of the closed door cultivation? Really now... Just thought it might be interesting to write such a story. Let's see if I manage. I'm new to this so, dear readers, please, don't be harsh on me. But if you have some words for me, so I can improve, don't keep them to yourselves, all help is deeply appreciated. And I officially promise to be very slow and inconsistent with releases (myriads reasons for this.) But I'll still do my best to finish the story someday. WARNINGS! (I thought a lot, and in the end, I'm putting it here. Better safe than sorry.) First of all, you can probably easily guess, but English is not my native language. And everything that comes with it. I don't think that it excuses me though, so I will improve with time, but warning you nevertheless. Second: No harem, no BL, no Romance And the last but not least: Beware of psychological pressure on characters and characters' deaths. Not much, in my opinion, but still, if you're overly sensitive to violence or mind games, better drop before starting. In any case, you've been warned. With all the above said, welcome, and enjoy.
8 158Shadow Falls
If you wanted to protect someone you loved, how far would you go, and what would you be willing to sacrifice? This question is at the core of this emotional rollercoaster of the book, Shadow Falls: the Rise and Fall of Erida VanIsle. This book emerged from four years of collaborative storytelling centering on the main character, Erida VanIsle, written by author Myra VanIsle. In this book, VanIsle goes beyond the events that led to Erida's sacrifice and explores forty-five years of the cost she paid to protect the sister she loved more than life itself. Shadow Falls explores the family tragedy which led to the separation of two sisters on completely different paths polar opposite of each other. While Erida set upon a path of darkness and power, Myra set out to be a beacon of light and hope bringing justice and peace to others. Be warned, the story VanIsle tells is dark and not easy, because you can't have the light without the dark.
