《Tribe of fang》Chapter 15: Dreams from between?

Well I did spend the night on a snowy cliff… I guess that's what people call meditation.
Rounding the corner of the mountain the fire is still flicking across the cave walls. Walking deeper into the cave I came upon a pile of my sleeping family and new found friends. After looking at them for a couple of seconds I quickly Turned around and laid at the mouth of the cave. Crossing both my paws over each other I rested my head within seconds I was asleep.
When I finally opened my eyes the bright light almost blinded me forcing me to shut them once more. I slowly wiped my eyes before opening them… it was white completely white. Looking around there was nothing in sight staring down at my hands. I slowly moved each finger… This felt familiar… but wrong.
Within a few seconds a loud Crack rang through the air before a large black gate metrialized, large twin dragons were inscribed on the door… looking at the detail put into it… it must have taken ages. Looking up at the dragon's black charcoal eyes they gave me a sense of… comfort. Before they quickly dashed around the room with a piercing gaze scanning every detail of the bright white room before falling upon me…
How'd I not notice it before… the details… there alive. Peering into the eyes of the dragon a large painful roar erupted from the gate before it was forcefully flung open. Peering inside the door it was pure black… empty as I stared longer my eyes became fixated. I could not longer look away. I was filled with pure… the sound of click clack interrupted my thought.
The sound of heels clicking across the floor began to quicken before finally a small black wooden cane stretched out from the black mess of a gate. Within a second a man in his mid fifties strolled out the gate before gently shutting the door behind him and rubbing the dragon's tail.
The door violently vibrated before letting out a cat-like purr…

Quickly turning around, A younger looking man pointed his cain at me. He felt familiar… Almost like, family couldn't hold back a smirk.
“So… Well I should call you Fang now, how do you like my present?”
A crooked smile filled his mouth as he chuckled before continuing.
“Well there's no doubt you would like it.”
Lifting my hand… I quickly stared at my hand before looking back at the man.
“Wait before we continue… Why did you take that form? It's fairly human…”
Looking down at my legs I quickly get the jest of what I look like…I don't…
I'm not human… anymore.
Without a second thought I quickly changed… there was no discomfort or pain just… returning.
Giving me a final once over he quickly nodded before continuing.
Shall we get to work?
Taking a step forward on the floor my voice shook for a second before I caught myself.
“Ww.. What am I supposed to do? Why'd you let me come here.”
Within the second a small smile crossed his mouth before quickly fading into a frown.
“Nothing. Do exactly what you want. You are my eyes and ears of this land… the las…” his black night eyes began to drift as if he was daydreaming of some sort.. Before he snapped back.
Lifting up his old curled fingers he gently taps his eyes and ears before speaking.
“ Be a king, be a devil, This world was once given by a caring, just god, To every race that walks this surface of this realm every being it dream, Nightmare… God or demon they thrive in this world.” He paused for a second running his fingers through his silk gray hair.
“I.. thought I could bring m.. I mean something new to this old world… The god that once cared for this world was shunned. Now new “Gods” Are trying to take over… I don't want this relic to truly rot away on a shelf… I'm unfit to care for this place.”

Spending his arms across the white room he expressed a dim smile before turning completely sour… Looking back at me he quickly pushed a smile.
“I leave it to you… everything. Ask the system while it does have an attitude it can be quite helpful.”
*Ping
It good you still remember me, K ~
The Blue screen quickly flashed in front of me before turning around.
“Yes, yes I remember you, Aki. Nice to see you're still doing your job.”
*Ping
Yes, just like always…
Wait wait just when could anyone else see the window before …?
I thought I was the only one? Staring blankly at the two of them happily going through a conversation it finally hit me.
What did he mean, leave it to me?
Turning his cane is his hand a couple times he looked at the room once more before walking closer to the large dragon gates. Running his fingers over the door it hissed before gently puring… the large dragons moved and squirmed inside the metal gate. The sounds of faint metal screeching filled the room. It moves on its own.
“I think it's time I head back to my realm, I leave this one in your hands… you're welcome to visit anytime.” Taking a look down he quickly smiled at his sharp fang teeth before correcting himself.
“I mean paws.”
Waving his cane down towards my paws he laughed before turning around and waving his hand behind him the door quickly shook before slowly creaking open just enough for him to squeeze inside. Slipping between the door they quickly slammed shut the door shuddered and steam poured from the cracks before a warm breeze filled the room. But… the door never disappeared.
Slowly Walking towards the gate a low growl filled the room. My face tightened, staring right at the door, I stepped closer.
Its low growl soon turned into a small whimper before the door quickly shrunk down about two thirds. It now stood about 9 feet tall and had a dark glow behind it almost sucking in the surrounding light…
Without thinking I stepped even closer until I was about inches away from the door. It whimpered and grew louder but I continued just ignoring it. Until finally touching the door it quickly was sucked into my body without another thought… the whimpering stopped…
*PINK
A sharp sound sounded through my ears before I was forced awake. Slowly opening my eyes I was right where I fell asleep. I didn't even move an inch. Standing up I quickly took a look around the cave, everyone was still fast asleep in their pile. Did no time pass at all?
Aki?
…No response…

Well that explains some things… I guess we all have to wait to ask…
But what was that dream, and why did my race get mixed up? Walking to the mouth of the cave a cold breeze filled the air, stepping out everything around the mountain was covered in a thin white layer of snow.
Walking inside the forest I quickly collected as much dry wood as I could and brought it back to the cave. When they wake up they can start another fire… looking down at the fire pit I quickly turned around. I don't have fire magic… Now that I think about it… Why can't I make magic?
Running around the corner of the mountain I rushed up the mountain at full steam. The snow from last night fell heavily. It was almost up to my belly now by the time I got to the top it cleared up a lot. But I was out of breath lying down at the top of the mountain. I stared off for a bit while catching my breath.
The village… I wonder if they have magic?

The Weather Vane
This is the first few chapter of my new book available on Amazon. The beginning is very light and fun, but more mature content comes later. From medieval fantasy to ultra high-tech to dinosaurs, The Weather Vane is a grippingly fast-paced adventure full of fun and excitement, literary flourish, and colorful characters. A group of ascendant masters find themselves in the afterlife and learn that they are newly recruited into the cosmic battle of good versus evil. Before they can join the fight, shipwreck strikes and they are lost in the ether. Stranded in a magical land beyond the reaches of the universe, The Weather Vane follows our crew of heroes as they try to piece things back together even while The Dark Lord’s forces march, maraud, and murder at every turn. Themes of darkness chase the overall levity of The Weather Vane which suffers not a lull as the climax begins near the beginning of the book and drives on through the greatly satisfying finish. The most epic of epics.

So when a clique of Mean Girls wannabees start sullying her good name in the Art History department of her university, what is she to do? Contacting the Dean would make a big fuss, and likely would give her the wrong kind of attention. But her subdued pride demands satisfaction! If only there was a way to get back at these girls with out jeopardizing her desire to remain in the background. The only solution? Magic learned from the forbidden texts of her part-time job. Getting Hard (Journey of a Tank)
Herald Stone always built tank characters in every MMORPG he played. To be immortal—that was his first Goal, a simple childhood dream. However, the turbulent realities of life put an end to his gaming days. Years passed, and Herald Stone, now having attained success and stability, was presented with the opportunity to redeem himself...to fulfill his first Goal. Trivial? Childish? Others might think so. But Herald Stone always fulfilled his Goals—every single one. No matter what. Immortality beckoned in Mother Core Online, and this time Herald Stone would answer. Choosing a long-forgotten race, hidden away in an unknown region, the journey of an immortal tank begins. This is the tale of Herald Stone...getting hard. Schedule: Mon-Wed-Fri ~1.8k-2.3k words per chapter. Also published on Scribblehub. My other ongoing story: REND | Royal Road Expect a focus on building a true tank in MMORPGs. Heavy game elements and numbers are present. But actual math will take a backseat to strategies involving skill builds and synergies that steadily become more complex while remaining understandable. The main character is atypical in LitRPGs or web novels as a whole. He might take some getting used to. Character arcs will develop over a long period. What you see now will be different as the main character changes. The start of Getting Hard is slow-paced (more so than others of the genre) and includes world-building and character development before focusing on the LitRPG.
