《Potestera- Race for Power》Ch 44 Sneak Attack! Shotun’s Treasure

When the debris from the explosion cleared out I was able to make out that the whole area where the giant hand had struck.
And I saw that it was devoid of anything, not even any remains or traces of Shotun.
“So you managed to escape you little Rat, it doesn’t matter the outcome of this fight has already been decided, this is good, struggle a little so you can know the fear of facing absolute power, the annihilation of your Clan will be the stepping stone for the emergence of a new power in Potestera the rise of the Ancient Titan Sons Clan!”
I looked towards the direction Binomas was directing his words to.
There floating in the air was Shotun, although not visibly wounded, it was extremely obvious something felt off.
He looked far worse than he had looked only moments ago, as if he was resisting an enormous amount of pain.
He took out another one of those blue bottles he had used before and drank it, but it did little in making him look any better.
“Who knew the Titan Hand Clan was hiding such secrets, I'm sure the number of atrocities your Clan has committed in order to gain this power aren’t few, indeed I underestimated you Binomas, and now I'm suffering the consequences of my mistake. But don't think the fight is over Binomas! You're going to have to see this through to the end before you can boast your arrogant dreams! And even if you do kill me after today you should know that the entire world will know of the ancient secret and knowledge that the Titan Hand Clan possesses. People will be seething at the mouth with greed. Do you really think your small clan can withstand that kind of assault? i don't care if you establish your headquarters in the middle of the willful leader’s estate deep within Volunterra, there will be no hiding from the world and its dark intent!”
“I'm sure the supposed future struggles of my Clan are bringing comfort to you, on the eve of witnessing your own Clans demise Shotun. But you don't have to worry about that, you miserable half baked mage. How can one hope to reach the peak without a little hardship? Believe me I've thought this through and made adequate preparations. Your blood will not only serve as payment for my son's life, but also as the sacrifice for the coming of a new era, and the same for the rest of your clan members' blood. I'll make sure to wipe out any traces left that your Clan ever existed, you be sure of that. Worry more about your offsprings life instead of my Clan Shotun because their next.”

Shotuns’ grim face changed into one of anger.
He tightened his grip on his staff and took a battle stance.
“Enough talking Binomas let’s settle this once and for all, I don't know what sin me or my Clan have committed to suffer this tribulation, but I'll make sure to end this with honor and courage.”
Binomas laughed in ridicule.
“Is that a close combat stance Shotun, is that how you're choosing to face me in your final moments. I don't know if I should take it as an insult or take pity upon you. It really does seem like you've run out of options. Crushing you with my bare hands! I couldn’t have asked for a better payoff to my efforts!”
“ I said no more Blabbering! Defend yourself you Monsters Bastard!”
Suddenly Shotun with a flash disappeared from where he was and reappeared in front of Binomas.
Teleportation spell!
Truly an Arc Mage was a mighty existence!
I wasn’t the only one who was surprised, Binomas had also been caught off guard.
A crouching Shoton in a low offensive stance, struck out with the base of his magical staff with lightning quick speed.
Binomas who had no time to react took the full brunt of the attack square in his chest.
Immediately a terrifying event occurred.
In a matter of seconds his armor disintegrated and he was sent flying towards the side of a hill.
Shotun scoffed and screamed while chasing forward to attack Binomas, not intending to give him any breathing room.
“Your lucky your Armor was good! Next time you won't be so lucky!”
Binomas barely had time to react and defend against the second upcoming strike.
He shielded his body with his massive glove covered hand intending to intercept the trajectory of the staff.
Again, once the staff struck his hand, the glove disintegrated, as if it was made out of sand and the force of the strike almost knocked Binomas, a giant gray hulk, down to the ground and put him in a vulnerable position.
Immediately Shotun quickly followed with another deadly strike, and again Binomas barely managed to defend with his last remaining glove that suffered the same fate as its counterpart.

Binomas again was hit away and made to tumble in the ground, ending up in a miserable state, different from the imposing look he had assumed after awakening his Titan Blood powers.
Again Shotun rushed forward not wasting any time, he knew he couldn’t afford to give Binomas the chance to counter attack.
With the tip of the blue jewel on top of his staff, he thrusted forward knowing that all of Binomas' visible armor pieces were gone.
It was obvious that Shotuns staff was no ordinary staff.
It seemed to possess extremely deadly close combat capabilities.
To be able to disintegrate something upon making contact was an extremely terrifying weapon.
The fact that Binomas was able to survive three of such strikes was an extremely impressive feat.
But suddenly out of nowhere Shotun stopped and flashed in a brilliance of light.
He had teleported away and as soon as he did a massive liquid mass fell where he once was.
Immediately the ground where the liquid landed on was burned through leaving a massive hole.
It was a sneak attack someone else had entered the fray!
I saw were Shotun had teleported to and was shocked to no end.
It seemed the mysterious corrosive liquid hadn’t totally missed.
It had managed to touch his Robe, and now Shotuns upper body was exposed, revealing a number of strange tattoos.
Suddenly another shadow appeared from behind Shotun!
This too he seemed to have detected, and with a violent swing from his staff he counter attacked whoever was striking him from behind.
Double sneak attack!
But they both had failed, now both new enemies could no longer try the same thing anymore as their positions were revealed.
“So you finally decided to join in. I see you guys are as overrated as ever head of the Big Mouth Clan, head of the Fierce Nose Clan. If you still have to rely on these two idiots then maybe Titan Power Inheritance isn't so great after all.”
“Even when on death's door you still have time to mock, I was wondering how you were capable of casting spells so quickly, those tattoos i'm sure aren’t just for looks. So you’ve mastered such a technique, and that staff isn’t a normal Magic Casting Staff, no it must be a rare treasure, the universe is certainly rewarding me today. I'm indeed surprised by your trump cards, not only that; but your ability to fight isn’t too shabby, perhaps ending you with my bare hands won't be such a disgrace for a mighty Warrior such as myself. Big Mouth head, Fierce Nose come let us end this miserable Mage.”
“Binomas remember to keep your promise to share Shotuns and his clans treasure equally with us ok.”
“Yes Binomas you can't keep all of the good stuff for yourself.”
“Of course my brothers today will be a bountiful day for all our Clans and a day of redemption for my son's death as well. For aiding me in my grief I will be sure to greatly recompense you. Besides do not forget he is responsible for both of your sons deaths as well.”
“Of course we haven't forgotten. I'll make sure to skin him alive and boil him in my spit for what he has done to my only male heir.”
“Yes yes revenge! You hear that Shotun! Don't think I can’t smell the fear oozing out of you!”
Shotun stood his ground and again took another battle stance.
He seemed ready to fight to the death.

Unique Fusion Magic Hex
World Essence. The mysterious energy coursing throughout the entire land of Vor'ten, and very possibly the entire world. This energy has allowed humanity to flourish, building great empires and vast kingdoms, conquering nature itself with just a sweep of their hand. Humans were the strongest existence, and with the help of channeling this World Essence, many were able to turn into Magic Knights, gaining magical abilities to combat the various fierce beasts throughout the lands.Alas... those glory days of old were long gone. Humanity has now been pushed to the brink of destruction, and now the remaining members of the human race are encased within giant domes known as 'Alkkras', made with the last remaining bits of the World Essence. It was said that those giant domes were the last gifts left by the remnants of the ancient human race, as a means to protect the future generation from the attacks of the many wild beasts roaming outside. Five Spiritualist Invokers, all combined together, used the last bit of the World Essence and sacrificed their lives to lay a gigantic, 1028-seal formation magic array to form these barriers, forever saving humanity, but also trapping humanity within these barriers. However, the humans were never completely helpless. No matter how little World Essence was left, the humans still had some remaining. Realizing the incoming crisis, the humans found a way to seal World Essence inside a special type of crystal. Soon, these crystals began to become implanted into weapons, turning them into World Essence Weapons, and they began to display properties of their own. Extreme heat. Bone chilling cold. Absurd sharpness. These normal weapons, after being imbued with the energy of the World Essence Crystals, began to form natural affinities to elements. Fire. Water. Earth. Wind. Darkness. Light. Using these weapons, one could become a Chevalier that wielded the power of the elements. However, if one wanted to reach a higher level of enlightenment and understanding, one could become an Invoker. Via the study of magic array formations, one could directly use the power of the World Essence to cast devastating magics upon the enemy. These people were Invokers, highly valued for their combat potential by the Army. These weapons and magical arrays were used in the great fight between the humans and the beasts long ago. They had long since been put away in storage, almost long forgotten...However, after ten-thousand years of suppression, the human race is beginning its counterattack against the Beasts... Synth was an Invoker in the Magecroft Academy. However, his talent was terrible, being only at the Spark Stage. This led to him being looked down upon and bullied. He was unable to cast any Calamity-rank or even Destruction rank spells, and was only able to cast Coalescing rank spells at the age of 17, a record low in the academy for cultivating these rare Invokers. Even though he put in more effort than anyone else, he was still unable to advance his Channeling Energy. But due to his constant research and study, Synth ended up creating a power that would go against the heavens - he had found how to Fuse spells together. After trying it out once, merging the magical array for the Small Fireball and the Mortal Judgement skills, he was able to create a mid-rank Destruction tier spell, Holy Judgement Flame. However, after this, no matter how hard he tried, he was unable to fuse more spells together or even cast them, and noticed a weird, pentagram shaped formation on his left arm. He would later call this mark the Fusion Magic Hex, a curse that prevented the wielder from casting magic that wasn't their own...This meant that with the exception of Synth's newly created skill, , he was going to have to create unique magic arrays if he ever wanted to step on the path of becoming an Invoker! This power that destroyed the laws of the Invoking System, and his unyielding persistence in testing and creating new spells, would later gain Synth the nickname the Unique Fusion Hex, and lead him to become one of the strongest beings in the entire World!
