The months passed by quickly. During that time Lukas and Jane grew close. And during one fight where the SS supervillain Titan got annoyed Lukas was reducing his collateral damage and decided to take that personal, Before, the media nicknamed the Warden the ‘catch hero’ because he would only catch or block debris, but would not actually fight. After that fight however the world knew not to take him lightly, as Titan’s broken body lay in the rubble of a building that was their warzone everyone knew. The Warden could fight.
That night Lukas was sore and bruised, but Jane was left with a shattered left arm and a minor concussion. The reason was Lukas could not catch debris if he had to catch fists instead. Jane was given a week to recover and while they nursed each other, they got intimate.
A week before the Aegis would arrive Lukas came to the decision he loved Jane. And that night she said yes and he gave her a soul ring. He explained to her it was like an engagement ring but you can talk to each other through it and it was completely private. In addition, it provided her with a public log of his actions. Such as what he said out loud or how heavy whatever he caught was.
The day Aegis would arrive the two decided to take the day off and go to the park. If he was not allowed to stay as a Warden representative then she would go with him after resigning from the force.
“ Save for the noise pollution, the bum living under the walkway over the pond, and a lack of wild birds. This reminds me of the Warden Recreational Park. Where [Initiates] and academy students would spend their free days relaxing or studying.”

“ What kind of wild birds?”
“ There are the ones we call ducks that would sit on the water, then there were the pigeons who were generally a menace to one's homework, or forehead if they were a dragonkin. I swear those birds can land crap between one of their horns from fifty feet up.”
Jane giggled at that, remembering the pictures of their kind she had seen.
“ One of the things that superheroes and villains worked on long ago was to remove certain... pests from the city. Believe it or not, not long ago a lot fewer people got killed in their fights. There was more... well I guess you could call it to honor back then. Money and property theft, some minor injuries with some knocked-out guards, then the super would show up and knock out the goons before the big two would fight. It seemed so civil back then compared to now.”
“ So what changed?”
“ People, some villains broke from the norm and nobody could stop them. That caused a new generation of heroes to appear, who took the fights too seriously for the old-timers. Many tried to teach the younger generation, but it was too late. Things had escalated and they really never died down. Those that did not adapt died or retired. Willingly or not.”
Jane closed her eyes and remembered playing as a kid in a ‘secret laboratory’ of one such oldie.
“ It is now all about power and popularity. Who has the bigger name and best toys? After that beatdown of Titan, many know solidly where you would place in the hierarchy. Those above will leave you alone because you do damage control more than actual fighting. Which is a blessing I guess. Because that would have made me a target.

And well, those below, they got to ask how they compare to Titan. If they do not stand a chance against him, how are they to compare to you. Again, you being on the sideline helps you, because you are not a threat to them.”
Lukas nods to her understanding and she slaps his arm.
“ I am being serious you know.”
Lukas nods to her again.
“ I know you are, and I am listening.”
“ To music, your head is bobbing to it.”
This time Lukas shakes his head.
“ Not quite. Something is going on. Something outside the norm...”
Lukas was not able to finish his sentence as he pulled a shield from his inventory and instantly moved to in front of Jane as he felt the impact of an energy blast hit him.
“ My you got fast reflexes. And I was not told about a shield.”
As the attacker talked Lukas activated the emergency equip option of his armor and he was instantly annoyed where a bunch of his fur was caught in the seals of the armor. He swore he will have to have Jane help him clean off the adhesive later.
Before Lukas could orient himself from becoming encased, he was punched in the side of the head hard enough to make his head ring as he turned his awareness outside the suit again. To his surprise, it was not one attacker but four surrounding him. With a quick motion of his right hand, he caught the one going for Jane before tossing him at one of his partners.
“ Very quick reflexes, strong to boot and that punch he took would have taken the head clean off a normal S rank hero. This is looking more interesting by the moment.”
Lukas focused on the talker as he got ready to defend himself and Jane again.
“ Why are you attacking me? I have not offended any of you.”
“ On the contrary, what you represent offends us. A goody-too-shoe with a savior complex. If we let you go to reduce the body count...”
The thug just raised his shoulders.
“ Well, the boss will be angry.”
Lukas blinked as he considered his options.
“ And how is it you decided to deal with me then? Take Jane as a hostage? It would be the smart thing to do to keep me idle.”
“ Not quite, you see, I and the gang are professional killers. We don’t do alive.”
Lukas blinks in surprise and his body straightened out and raised up in excitement.
“ Oh, that makes this easy.”
A sword materializes in Lukas's right hand and he lowers it slowly as four heads hit the ground simultaneously.

The Grey Realm, an Erebus Story.
Written by: Staugroan and The Inklets. Edited by: Claudia Adams. In the beginning there was a god, who watched over and made one world his own. Soon after the god grew restless, but happened to stumble on a small world filled with life. This world was named Erebus by its peoples; humanity. The god was so fascinated with this new world that he started to copy it back home, creating oceans, forests, deserts, and so forth. Then the god created life and eventually his favored creations who would be immortals and be the better of mankind in every way-the elves. So often the god had traveled to Erebus that the two worlds became linked by magic and their inhabitants could cross at will. Relations between the races flourished, and a great empire was born in the Grey Realm, home of the elves. But the god once again grew restless, and set loose great beasts that stood at the top of any food chain, the apex. At first the elves met the challenge and fought them head on. But mankind was not so lucky, they died in droves to push back even a single apex. Something had to be done. Elves and man worked together to begin sealing off the worlds to protect mankind, to limit the ways in and out to better fight the apex off and keep their fellows safe. The ritual had adverse effects the likes of which neither the elves nor man could predict; the sealing of the worlds started slow, but the magic had never been done before, and in their ignorance it spread to completely cut the two worlds off from one another. It ejected the apex, and other magical being back into the Grey Realm, saving Erebus. At first the elves were content, they would find a way back once the apex were dead and gone. But the seal had done more than keep Erebus locked away. The powersource of the seal was magic itself, from both worlds, and it consumed it all greedily. The elves, weakened without their magic, crumbled into ruin, and the apex were free to hunt the other races of the Grey Realm. Two-thousand years later a strange phenomena is occurring and magic is slowly returning to the Grey Realm, and tears open that allow passage to Erebus. Thu'lain and a few elves must make the journey to fallen kingdom of the elves Anosora, in the hopes of reclaiming what was once theirs. They must face their nemesis the apex, and survive not only the species that have turned against them, but a terrible being left behind by the god to kill even the apex. Uch'l'thein, the faceless terror.

The Shadow Paradigm - Book 1: Project Orb Weaver
Gardening, cooking, innovation, preservation, charity events... Madzistrale, Tom and Gabzryel does it all. But when they encounter the mysterious Shiakar Paradigm Society, a clash of paradigms ensues. Although both groups are aiming to make humanity stand stronger, their ideals and methods could not be further apart. Between the trio's optimistic yet naive ideals, and the SPS's tried-and-true surgical methods, determining the answer which methods can better humanity is a struggle that both parties must resolve in their own ways... Welcome to the 7th revision of my 10+ years ongoing novel trilogy. This revision took out some flawed plot concepts to re-introduce a more down-to-earth, film noir-like ambience, where a battle of wits is what will determine the outcome. It also added instead more in-depth expansion into the lives and mindsets of the characters, especially the heroes (a missing factor in older versions). Third-view limited storytelling was also introduced more prominently over my favoured third-view omnipotent, with each chapters concentrating as much as possible on a single character's point of view instead of head-hopping. So I shall begin uploading the chapters as I finish them; they're edited as much as I can, but there'll most likely be some typos and mistakes. As always, I welcome your comments and critiques, and I hope you enjoy reading that story as much as I did creating it! A parting poem to introduce the story (translated from its original French version): Credit: Les Mots, Mylene Farmer & Seal Firmly, the sky writhes When a mouth begets a death There, I will give my life to hear you To tell you the most tender words When all becomes all alone I'll break my life for a song And to lives that stoop to notice mine I know I will say goodbye But a fraction of this life I would give anything, anytime The universe has its mysteries Words are our lives You could kill a life with words Soul, how would it feel? If our lives are so fragile Words are mysteries Words of feelings Words of love, a temple If one swept the world away One could touch the universe I will tell you how the sun rose high We could with a word become one And for all those words that hurts us There are those that touches us Which illuminates, touches the infinity Even if nothingness exists For a fraction on this life We will give anything, anytime The universe has its mysteries Words are our lives We could kill a life with words Soul, how would it feel? If our lives are so fragile Words are mysteries Words of feelings Words of love, a temple

Gamer
This story is abandoned and has not been authorized for distribution on any sites but RoyalRoad. Given the Gamer ability after shattering a crystal inside a game, Jon's world is upturned as he is thrown into a life he considered fantasy. Making new enemies and encountering a god, he cannot escape the quest which is forced on him. Different worlds and different situations, can he come out on top? He's neither perfect nor a saint, he is Jon. Welcome to Gamer. This has been dropped, I didn't like the way I forced a few plotpoints and I lost my notes on the story itself. Read below if you want to be spoilered. As far as I recall, he would change race into a higher human after using a spell to overload his mana repeatably until his body forcibly adapts, he would train up his rift usage spell with some better targets than God's Realm because he keeps hitting his stats limit until the cost lowers enough that he can actually grind it. His world is being invaded by multiple worlds, so the god had many backup plans where a lot of people went into their own fantasy settings and came back to defend Earth. Jon never is the strongest one out there, he has to keep grinding and grinding before he gets stronger than the other heroes, and at that point the invasion is nearing the final stretch. Jon's two biggest advantages is that he can keep grinding without hitting a cap he can't evolve, and that even when he is eventually killed. He would have respawned in the nearest 'Safe Zone' after dropping a level and everything he did to gain that level. I also had a bunch of ideas for mini-arcs where he would play in multiple worlds in multiple situations, not that great of an idea in retrospect.
