??? says "Stage 3 rewards: Choose an item!"
'Huh? What does that mean?'
Just as I am feeling confused a window appears in front of me with a long list of items. They are all the items that I acquired while going through the test and it is asking me to pick one. My immediate thought is of Rocksplitter but just before I select it I decide to look through the list.
The backpack is on the list, but I already have a bag of holding and while another would be nice I don't want to waste this chance. To my surprise the chief's sword is on the list even though it was destroyed. So is the axe the emperor of ice was using, and it is a really nice axe from the description.

However, what catches and holds my attention is actually the three piece set that Raindrop made me. It is listed as a single item even though it is a set of three and I just can't manage to pass it up. There are other items that interest me quite a bit but the set seems to be the best option.
In the end, after going through the list several times, I go with the set Raindrop made. Clothing might not be as useful as some of my other choices but considering what I already have outside it is the best choice. After all, none of the weapons are the equal of Blitz, and the armor can't even compare to what I have.
??? says "Stage 4 rewards: Choose a follower!"
'A follower?! What?!'
A new list appears before me, listing everyone I had contact with inside the test. This is going to be an even harder choice than the item was, I met some great people. My first thought is Raindrop, having an elf on my side would be awesome.
However, she would be the only elf in this world as far as I know and that would be hard on her. Besides, in all honesty I have enough women problems as it is, no need to add to them. Rockskull is also ruled out, being the only dwarf would be a serious issue.
Even though I already decided I don't need any more women, Zimmy is still tempting. She may not be as much use in a fight, but her manager abilities would be really useful in the future. However, the thought of her and Ruby in the same room quickly kills that idea.
Roland is really tempting, as a strategist he would be super valuable when the war starts. Then again Nived would give my group a mage, which we are lacking. Depending on his potential he may even be a candidate to inherit the tower.

One by one I go through the rest of the males on the list, and while useful, they don't compare to those two. Although, the warden does come close. So it comes down to a choice between Roland and Nived, and I can't make up my mind. Both would be very valuable to me, and both were people I got along well with.
Instead of comparing values I take some time to think about their personalities and how I think they would adapt to a new world. In this case Roland loses out, he didn't seem like the type that could adapt to a new world very well. Besides, Nived already stated he wanted to follow me back to my world, so he should handle it better.
If he can become an archmage and inherit the tower that would make a huge difference to the war. It would also affect things a lot after the war as well, much more than Roland would. Although, the thought does cross my mind of bringing Roland through and marrying him to Mercy.
He would make an excellent king, and his personality is a pretty good match with Mercy. However, I decided long ago that I didn't want to play matchmaker and I am going to stick with that decision. So in the end I select Nived's name on the list.
??? says "Offering the choice to the selected follower! He has agreed!"
'It gave Nived a choice?! If this is just a simulation, why would it offer him a choice? Come to think of it, how is it possible for someone from inside the test to come out? The more I think about it the more confusing it becomes!!'
??? says "Stage 5 rewards: Title!"
New Title: Magus Knight Captain!
Magus Knight Captain (Upgradable)
All stats +10!
All Resistances +10!
+20% to Strength when wielding a melee weapon!
+15% to Intelligence when casting a combat spell!
'Wow! That title is awesome! And it can still upgrade more!'
??? says "Rewards Complete! Now exiting test world!"
The next thing I know I am back in the gate room with a very confused looking Nived. I don't know what he was expecting but this obviously isn't it. Apparently he didn't get to keep any of his items, he is just wearing clothes.
Yui says "Ash! You succeeded! Wait, who is this?"
"Hello, Yui, I'm back! This is Nived, a mage from the test."
Yui says "From the test?! How??"
