《I Died and Got Summoned to Another World as a WHAT?!?!》Ep. 353 Captain's Test Part 7

The goblins surrounding the camp thought twenty of their number would kill me so they turned their attention back to the camp. Meaning I take them by surprise when I suddenly show up amongst them and start killing. Seeing me killing their comrades they start gathering around me trying to overwhelm me.
As soon as I see the first one turn to run I use Lion's Rage, all the ones in range go insane. Unfortunately, there were still a lot of goblins outside the range, and they all start running away. All the noise has alerted the miner's outpost, some of the goblins that ran that way get killed by the guards.
In all a little under three hundred get away, while I kill a little over two hundred. When the guards come with torches and see me surrounded by so many corpses they look terrified. Only after I show my captain's badge and my adventurer's badge do they settle down and thank me.
Only giving the guards the briefest of waves I take off after the fleeing goblins. Killing the fleeing goblins is easy, at least the ones I manage to find, by my count I am still missing a hundred goblins. Goblins are small and light, they don't leave much in the way of tracks, not that I am a professional tracker or anything.
While hunting the missing goblins I almost walk into the main force, if they weren't making so much noise I would have. After climbing a tree I am finally able to see the main force, and it is basically an army. A rough count shows over five thousand goblins as well as around a thousand orcs.
Currently they have stopped their march, the goblins that escaped me are currently reporting to an orc. He must be the leader of this force, but getting to him certainly won't be easy. Six thousand opponents is a little much for me to deal with on my own, at least all at once.

However, as I watch, the orc issues new orders and two thousand goblins split off from the main force. They start heading towards the mining outpost, two thousand is still a lot, but I think I can manage it. So I drop down from the tree and quickly move ahead of the goblins.
After moving a decent distance from the main force I climb another tree and wait for the goblins to arrive. Luckily, they followed the route I thought they would and they soon arrive at the tree I am hidden in. As they march past I wait until the middle of the column arrives and then I drop down amongst them.
Dozens die before the rest of the force even realizes it is under attack, then they start swarming towards me. There are far too many attacking me for me to be able to dodge all of them so I quickly activate Storm Armor. This way those that do manage to hit me die from electrocution, but I am still getting hit.
While hundreds of goblins are dying my HP is also falling rapidly, not to mention my captain's armor is getting trashed. If I didn't have Sacred Touch I would probably die against this many goblins, but unless I run out of sacred power I am fine. I can't imagine how this fight must look from the outside, with me cutting down dozens of goblins every second.
As soon as I see the first goblin turn to run I quickly activate Lion's Rage, I don't want any to escape. Unfortunately, there are quite a few goblins still outside the range of the taunt's range, in all about five hundred goblins run. What's worse is they are all running towards the main force, and I still have a lot of goblins to kill so I can't chase them.

Unable to do anything but watch as the goblins escape I take out my frustration on those that Lion's Rage taunted. By the time there are no more goblins for me to kill I am left panting for breath. I have never used Sword Dance for such a long time before, it is really exhausting.
Still having managed to kill over fifteen hundred goblins all by myself is quite the achievement. Looking down at myself, I really miss my cleaning crystal, the goblin's green blood smells horrible. After catching my breath I start walking in the direction of the main force, I need to see what they are planning next.
When I catch up to them I find that they are marching again, and there are more than there should be. After counting again my only guess is that the commander recalled all the scout and search parties. With one thousand orcs and almost five thousand goblins grouped together there isn't much I can do against them.
What's worse is they are marching towards the village, if I don't do something they will reach it by dawn. Even if I returned to town and got the army to mobilize I doubt they could get to the village in time. Not to mention any casualties the army suffers now will make a huge difference when the real invasion comes.
Well, I guess I have to figure out something on my own, I either need to kill them or stop them. Killing the commander would be the easiest way, without a leader they should fall into chaos. The problem is how to get to him, my longest range attack is Wind Slash at thirty-five feet.
There are a lot of goblins and orcs I would have to get through to get within thirty-five feet of him. If I can't kill him, then my next best option is to get the army to chase me, hit-and-run. Unable to think of a better option I decide to give it a try, so I take off running towards the army's rear.
The screams of the goblins I cut down echo through the night and cause the army to stop. After killing over two dozen goblins I turn and run into the forest before I get surrounded. As I run, I look back and find a couple of hundred goblins are chasing me, I was expecting more.
With so few chasing me I immediately slow down, I don't want them to give up after all. As soon as the goblins are several hundred feet from the main force I suddenly do a 180 and charge into them. I quickly cut my way into the middle of them and use Lion's Rage, then I kill them all.

I Don't Seem So Bright in a Well-Lit Room
The universe is a very strange place. It will take even stranger heroes to save it."Absurd. Existential. Ridiculous. Tragic. Comic. The antiheroes of "I Don't Seem So Bright in a Well-Lit Room" are a kind of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern with space packs, inadvertently colliding with their destinies against a starry background of witty wordplay. With a vision as sprawling and limitless as the loveably goofy universe in which it's set, Browning's wit, wisdom and heart are always at play, combining to form a wonderfully panoramic and very silly heroes' journey that visits every trope of its overlapping genres and draws moustaches on all of them."- Marcel St. Pierre, author of "Vengeful Hank" and "Cliché and Wind Go Hitchhiking".(Sci-fi /Dark Humour/Absurd) *Completed!
