《I Died and Got Summoned to Another World as a WHAT?!?!》Ep. 345 Mage Knight Test Part 7

Lion's roar, a skill I don't use very often because its main effect is fear, but it does do a small amount of damage. Moreover, as a beast skill it doesn't use any sacred power, meaning I can use it freely. The skill description doesn't show a cooldown for the skill but when I back away from the room and try it I find there is one.
It can only be used once every thirty seconds, but that isn't too bad, I can still use it freely. Its damage is tiny but over the course of a few hours using it twice a minute it will definitely add up. With this I think I have a chance of killing all ten elementals, besides it isn't a big deal if I fail.
So I approach the room again and get ready, looking around the room is a decent size so I should be able to kite them easily. I will use knight blade to focus on one elemental while backing in a circle around the room. This way only one elemental at a time will be able to attack me, yet all ten will be within the damage range of lion's roar.
With my mind made up I move into the room, instead of waiting at twenty feet I charge straight in. The elementals are spread out a little, so I wait until the furthest one is within thirty feet. At that point all of them are within range so I let loose with my first roar to test its effectiveness.
As soon as I roar I see immune messages above every elemental followed by forty damage. Them being immune to fear doesn't surprise me in the least, but the double damage doesn't make sense until I realize a roar would count as sonic damage. Being made of rock it is understandable for them to take double damage from sonic attacks.

Now my confidence in winning is quite a bit higher, but I still start moving backwards slowly to keep from being surrounded. If they manage to surround me, even I would have trouble dodging all of their attacks. As long as I can avoid that, this battle should be simple, if long and boring.
Luckily the elementals aren't very intelligent, they try to come at me in a straight line. If any of them thought to go around the others then I would be in trouble. As it is, all I have to do is keep backing up at a steady pace and they just follow me like a bunch of ducklings.
As I back away I constantly attack the first elemental with my knight blades, always hitting its chest. At the same time every thirty seconds I use lion's roar to do damage to all of the elementals. Using this method I defeat the first elemental after thirty minutes and start working on the second one.
About an hour into the battle something strange happens, I start to see HP bars above the elemental's heads. Seeing the immune message for fear and the damage dealt was already strange but I thought it was part of the test's system. Now that I am starting to see HP bars as if I was playing a game, it increases the weird factor by quite a bit.
Although, it is really useful in this case, all the elementals have lost around an eighth of their HP so far just from the repeated roars. Now I know I am going to win this, even if I run out of sacred power I can just roar them to death. After all, they can't catch me unless I do something stupid, which I plan to avoid doing.

Finally, the third elemental goes down, the second took me twenty-six minutes, the third took twenty-four. Thanks to the roar slowly wearing them down I can kill each one a little quicker. With seven left to go I might actually finish this before I run out of sacred power.
Although, I will admit that after roaring so much my throat is seriously starting to hurt. I'm positive this is the first time I have used this skill more than once or twice, it should definitely level up. If I trigger that skill boost again lion's roar might even gain a couple of levels.
If I had my choice I would remove the fear effect and increase the damage. After all, most of the time I don't want my enemies running away, that means I have to chase them. That is the main reason I haven't used the skill more, but I doubt there is an option to let me edit a skill, that would be way OP.
I will just have to wait and see what happens after I finish defeating all these elementals. While it is fun to think about the possibilities, I have no way of actually affecting the outcome. The fourth elemental dies after only twenty minutes, only six more to go.
Due to the pain in my throat I start using lion's roar only once per minute. Even if the remaining six elementals take twenty minutes each I will still be fine. In fact at this point I could stop using lion's roar all together if I really wanted to.
The main reason I don't is because this is boring and I don't want to drag it out any more than I have to. The fifth elemental dies after nineteen minutes, marking the halfway point. In total I have been kiting them for around two hours, and I have enough sacred power for a little over two more hours.
While I am getting tired, I am fairly sure I have enough stamina left to finish the fight. The remaining five elementals are already down by a quarter of their HP just from the constant roars. Although, after this fight I have decided I am not going to challenge any of the other mage tests unless I somehow acquired more spells.
After all, the only reason I am able to pull this off is because the elementals are so slow. If I was fighting a faster monster there is no way I could pull this kind of stunt off. By kiting the elementals like this I am basically cheating the system and I know it.
However, that is not going to stop me from finishing this fight and taking full advantage of this test's rewards. After all since I don't have a class and can't gain levels, my rank and my skills are the only way I can get stronger. The sixth and seventh elementals both die in around eighteen minutes each.
With only three left to go I get a little impatient and start using wind slash to kill them faster. I only stop when I only have enough sacred power left to activate knight blade one more time. The sudden burst damage allowed me to kill two more elementals in twenty minutes.
