《I Died and Got Summoned to Another World as a WHAT?!?!》Ep. 310 Kechara Part 6

What really surprises me is that the Temple of Wind is mentioned in the very first paragraph. Even taking my time I can't believe what I am reading, but it stays the same even after I recheck my translation three times. According to this, the city I found was built to protect the temple, but the temple wasn't built by them.
Since I can't trust this information easily I put the history book away and look through all the others I picked up. Finding the one that seems the simplest I start translating it, the title reads 'Basic Combat'. If I remember right this was one of the books I found in the boy's room in the mayor's house.
Since it seems to be a teaching book the language used should be a lot simpler. While I may not learn anything from this book it should be much easier to translate. Once I am more sure in my grasp of the language I will go back to the other books.
After staring at the book for around an hour my eyes start to ache so I put the book away and decide to get some sleep. However, I really don't want to sleep on the stone, so I start going through my pouch looking for something I can use. While I have the hide and wings from Kechara's mother I don't want to use them here since it might upset her.
The only other thing I have is the piles of silk rope I made ages ago out of silk from the giant spiders. Since the hammock is made from the same thing I figure I can pile the rope up in a way that should be comfortable enough. Before I go to sleep on my makeshift bed I burn through my sacred power.

My last thought before sleep claims me is that I should be able to rank up in the morning. When I wake up I realize the sun is already up, it seems I overslept a bit. When I open my eyes and check on Kechara the only way I can tell she is asleep is from the soft snoring.
The reason for this is that her wings have finished growing and are wrapped around her hiding her from sight. As much as I want to wake her up and see if anything else has changed I decide to wait. I can wake her up after I have ranked up, so I drop into meditation and start pouring my power into my core.

Wind Armor
Level: 1
SP Cost: 100 Duration: 1 minute
Projectile Defense: 50% Magic Defense: 10%
'Well, that seems really useful! Let's try it out. Wind Armor!'
When the spell activates it covers my body in a light layer of air that is moving rapidly all around me. As I stand up and move around it feels weird but the spell isn't affected by me moving. No matter how I move around the armor completely covers me, this is a really useful spell.
After a minute the armor fades away, but even with a short duration I am still really happy with my new spell. Even though I haven't run into anything that uses ranged weapons lately I can think of many situations where this spell will be really important. Between the spell and my drake armor I should be pretty much immune to ranged attacks.
Especially once I level up the spell some, hopefully the defense will increase when it levels up. Since my rank up is out of the way I decide it is time to start cooking breakfast. The smell of food cooking is the easiest way I have found to wake up Kechara in the morning.

When Kechara wakes up she seems confused, her wings are wrapped tightly around her and she can't really move. So for a few minutes until she figures out how to untangle herself all she can do is wriggle around like a worm. I find it hilarious and despite trying hard not to, I end up laughing at her which earns me a dark look.
When she finally figures it out and unwraps her wings I quickly notice that her wingspan is larger than her mother's was. If her wings are fully grown that means she will probably end up about twice the size of her mother. As she is getting up and inspecting her wings I also notice that she is already as big as her mother was, she grew more during the night.
I can't help but wonder if I am the reason she is growing so big, maybe her mother's growth was limited by the available food. While her body has gotten longer it is still streamlined, she won't have much trouble fitting in places. Of course that may change as she matures, I will just have to wait and see how she develops.
Kechara is standing and flapping her wings, it looks like she is working on her control. By the time the food is ready she can already flap just one wing at a time or flap all of them at different speeds. Of course as soon as I say food is ready she folds away her wings and rushes over to eat.
As she is eating I realize my schedule for going to the temple was way off. I expected it to take me at least another day or two to rank up, and Kechara is progressing much faster as well. After checking the food left in my pouch I think I still have about a month's worth of food for both of us.
Since I don't have to worry about food I can probably spend the next couple of days training Kechara and then head to the temple. Of course that will depend on Kechara and her instincts, after all I can't teach her how to fly. That will be the next step, so after breakfast I take her outside where she has room to test her wings.
