《I Died and Got Summoned to Another World as a WHAT?!?!》Ep. 130 Divine Revelations Part 2

Krenocia says "Alright, but please keep your questions for after."
Seronia says "We will start with the summoning of the first demon. You see back then our followers were only one of three great empires on the continent. There were also numerous small kingdoms, but the empires are what's important for the story."
As Seronia talks the globe unfolds into a square map that just shows the continent. As she talks lines appear on it to show the borders of all the nations. The first thing I notice is that only about half the continent is covered by the lines.
Seronia says "We were at war with the empire to the south on the map, and we were doing just fine. That is until the other empire joined the war by attacking us."
Krenocia says "Fighting a war on two fronts against equal opponents wasn't possible so we looked for other ways to fight. The empire's archmage at the time summoned a demon. It was rank five when he summoned it and let it loose against the second empire's army."
Seronia says "It worked well at first, the demon held off the second army while we battled the first army. That is until the demon ranked up from all the souls and broke free of its shackles. Before the archmage could arrive to subdue it the demon opened a portal."
Krenocia says "The armies of the two empires retreated and our empire was left fighting an army of demons. Our forces spent the next two hundred years fighting a losing war, until we gods got directly involved."
Seronia says "By then there were hundreds of higher rank demons and even demon lords. We fought to protect what was left of our people as they fled to this peninsula. We killed dozens of greater demons but in the end there were just too many for the nine of us to handle."

Krenocia says "The other seven died as you already know but we bought enough time for the barrier to be cast across the land bridge. With the demons unable to chase our people we started trying to recover our lost power."
Seronia says "We hid the true history of all of this so that our followers wouldn't lose faith in us. At the time we hoped to rebuild our forces and eventually retake the empire that we had lost. The two of us didn't know at the time how much the humans would weaken without the level system of Arkat."
Krenocia says "And now you know our great shame."
"Is it okay to start asking questions now?"
Seronia says "Yes, at this point we have nothing left to hide."
"Okay, first, why didn't you save the empire from the dragons if they were your only hope?"
Krenocia says "We couldn't. By that time the temples had already weakened us and we wouldn't have been a match for the dragons."
"Dragons are that powerful in this world? Couldn't you have just picked them off one by one?"
Seronia says "Yes, dragons are equal to a god once they reach a certain age. The two of us together couldn't kill even one dragon, keep in mind we are not war goddesses."
Krenocia says "I think you misunderstand something. The empire wasn't destroyed by many dragons, there were only two."
"Two dragons destroyed the entire empire?"
Krenocia says "Yes. Now do you begin to understand how powerful they are?"
Hearing that I sit silently for a while just digesting everything they have told me so far. A lot more things about the history of the world are making sense now. I also realize just how much the goddesses have gone through, especially since they couldn't see each other for such a long time.

"What about why you can't see the main continent?"
Seronia says "Our sight is restricted to where we have followers."
"Is that why the other continents on the globe were dark?"
Seronia says "Yes, our followers never went there."
"Then how do you know they are there?"
Krenocia says "Back when we had our full power we could fly up and look down on the world."
"Just how dependent on your followers are you?"
Seronia says "A god without followers will fade and die."
Your insight into the gods has raised your Int and Wis by +2!
'Huh! That's cool, but weird at the same time.'
"Wait! If a demon got enough followers would they become a demon god?"
Krenocia says "Yes, but that is very unlikely to happen."
"Why?"
Krenocia says "Because it requires true worship not just fear and I doubt any demon is capable of being nice enough to gain followers."
"Does your followers' perceptions affect you?"
Seronia says "Yes, if the belief is widespread enough and for a long enough period of time."
"Then why haven't you spread the perception that you are both goddesses of war?"
Krenocia says "Haha! We have tried, but it didn't work. Humans refuse to see females as capable of war."
Seronia says "We have had to work fairly hard to keep the humans from turning us into sex obsessed!"
"Ahh, yes, the typical male ego. I hope you put all sorts of horrible curses on those types."
Krenocia says "Yes, we did."
"Good! Although, I am surprised they haven't tried to make a male god to rule over you."
Seronia says "They have, and it could have worked, but they all had different ideas of what the god should be like."
"So human worship can create a god?"
Seronia says "Yes. If a million humans believe in a single idea for a few centuries it will become a god."
Krenocia says "That is how most gods come to be, at least the original gods."
"Which type are you?"
Seronia says "We are original. We were created by a small tribe thousands of years ago. That tribe prospered and grew and conquered other tribes. Some of those tribes had gods who joined us, others we defeated. Eventually our tribe became the core of the empire."
By understanding the origin of the twins your Cha increases by +5!
'Wow! Gaining stats just from a conversation? They truly are goddesses!'
"Alright, I understand about gods, now tell me about demons."
Krenocia says "What do you want to know?"
"Everything. From how they are created to how they grow. What different types there are, what kind of politics they use, and anything about the unique ones."
