"Requirements to join the Hero's Guild!"
"Must fulfill the following:
- Must not be a part of the Villain's Guild
- Must have at least one heroic deed to your name or Hero name.
- Must respect your seniors, both in work and the elderly.
- Must have citizenship.
- Must be at least level 20.
- Must follow the Universal Code & Conduct booklet issued to members.
If you are incapable of fulfilling these requirements then you may join the Adventurers' Guild with the exception of Hero's Disciples."
Having read that my hopes were dashed as quickly as they came. Reflecting a bit on whether I should really make such a huge life and how, I decided to call Maddy over to my apartment.
————————————————————————————————————
"Okay, let me get this straight," she gave a pause, "After getting struck by a chunk of the moon you were offered an evolution by the System. A capability that should only be accessible to monsters. Deciding, rashly might I add, to accept the evolution you became a much envier version of yourself with increased strength. With this strength you were given you decide that you want to be a hero but can't because you can't fulfill the requirements. Having a moment of clarity you decided to call me. Did I miss anything?"
"I leveled up too."
"Oh, and now you can become stronger because you unlocked the experience stat. Oh, I need to sit down."
After calling my friend Maddy over, I explained the situation to her where she then lectured me for being an idiot and is currently slumped on my chair.
"You know Ally, we have been friends for our entire lives and I have seen you do some idiotic things but this takes the cake…why? Why do you want to be a hero?" She looks over at me with one hand on her cheek, disapproval clear in her eyes.

"Maddy. I want to be a hero that people can look up to, not those heroes that do it for fame or money, but I want to be someone who a child can aspire to be. Plus I'm not a regular human like you are, I can actually level up!"
Maddy stares at me for what seems like an eternity, proceeds to take a deep breath and gives a long sigh.
"Well, if this is what you want to do I'll help you. I mean you did trust me with this information, but I will be honest, when you have publicity anyone can take a good look at you and figure out who you are. So! If we are going to do this then we are going to do this right." I am really thankful she agreed to help me.
Reaching into her purse, she brings out her phone and types away at it. After peeking at her phone I see that she is on a Guild webpage.
"This is the Adventurers' Guild. Or as some people call it the Neutral Guild solely because heroes, villains, and well, really, anyone willing and able can join. Now it is recommended that you only join the three guilds as part-time jobs and to keep a stable day job, so you are going to keep your job as an accountant and I will be honest this will be tough on your sleep schedule."
"Oh, yeah, my sleep resistance turned into sleep immunity." I stated remembering that my skills upgraded after my painful evolution.
"Okay…Then you're probably going to be a night-time hero. So, back to the Adventurers' Guild, it will be the most likely way for you to level up since they facilitate trips into the dungeon to kill monsters. Now, they work on commissions for monster parts but occasionally, there are jobs for specific monsters." Pausing for a second, she catches her breath then continues. "The requirements for this guild are as follows: Follow the Universal Code and Conduct booklet, possess citizenship, and stay in dungeons of your rank. For heroes, don't fight with villains in dungeons and on guild grounds and vise versa for villains."

"Umm, Maddy, can you explain that rank thing you talked about?"
"It's just the usual rank system you read in novels, the first six letters of the English alphabet, and do enough jobs to rank up. You can do jobs one rank above but you can't do jobs a rank below."
"Alright, you mentioned people could join the Guild, what are the most common?"
"Ex-military and ex-police are the most common, well, it used to be the homeless until they put a test in place to make sure you are able after they had a large percentage of newcomers die."
"Maddy, thanks for helping me, but I think applying to the Guild is something I'll do alone."
"Alright, I need to sleep tonight, I work the night shift today."
"Oh, where are you working now?" I asked.
"Security at the Museum of Natural History but I think I might try the police academy again."
"Well. Good luck."
"Thanks."
After she left I had nothing else to do today so I went to bed.
