《A Quest in Egypt ( A Story Of Jinns And Witches Book 1 )》Prologue

The weapon hurt Iblis. He breathed shallowly, his head spun, and he shivered with every step he took. The weapon jammed between his ribs cut him deeper. He screamed as he plunged his fingers into the wound to pull it out as the object burned his fingers.
"We can still win this, " he whispered before falling to his knees.
All around him, the dead bodies of his friends and followers lay on the battlefield. They had fallen one by one in their effort to defend him and the world they had worked so hard to build.
He looked up; the sky had turned into an ever-changing array of colours. They were the souls of fallen jinns. Each side had suffered significant losses.
Then he saw Yazmin. He quickly crawled to her; her black and golden armure shredded. She was coughing blood.
'' No, no, not you!'' He uttered, pushing her long dark hair off her face.
"Where is she?" he asked in a strained tone.
She gave him a weak smile. "She is safe, my child."
He smiled back and caressed her hair. "I am here; you are not alone."
She nodded, "where are they? Have you defeated them?"
He shook his head and his eyes shone, "no, but it is not over."
She extended her hand and grabbed his arm. Her piercing green eyes filled with tears, "run my child, you need to run."
He shook his head, tears running down his cheeks, his lips trembling, and said in a shaky voice, "no, I will not leave you. I can protect you."
She shook her head. "No, you must go. If you die, it would have been for nothing. Run, find her, rebuild what we have lost, and make them pay for what they have done to us. I beg of you."

Iblis looked around again; he could see shadows approaching. He leaned down and kissed his aunt on her forehead. "I will come back for you; I swear it."
She murmured, "quick my child, run, run!"
He started sobbing, kissed her again, then ran.
Not long after, a horde of riders holding flags of the coalition appeared and reached Yazmin. Pippa Southill came down from her horse and approached Iblis' aunt.
She kneeled and looked at her, "My, my, how the mighty have fallen."
Iblis' aunt grunted, grabbed a handful of soil covered in blood and threw it at her face, "do not rejoice witch! You've won the battle, but not the war!"
Pippa let out a chuckle, then a voice behind her said, ''it's time for you to get the treatment you deserve, Yazmin.''
Pippa pulled out a glass sword and yelled, "this is for our families! " But it was in vain. Yazmin had already taken her last breath.
Pippa dropped her sword and felt a hand on her shoulder. She turned toward her sister, "she's gone"
Willa nodded, ''we won. We can now put all this behind us.''
Pippa shook her head. ''We need to find the other one. Hopefully, she will be among the dead or most likely injured.''
She gazed around. All across the plain, their soldiers were rounding up the wounded and capturing those trying to flee.
''We cannot rest until we capture Iblis. We need to find him, by any means necessary," she shouted to her soldiers before running back to her horse.

The Cosmic Interloper
Synopsis: A cyborg transhuman escapes her corporate indenture and through unfathomably unlikely circumstances, she ends up in a fantasy world of full of unique magic, angry people with sharp implements, and the whole flavor-spectrum of divine entities. Hilarity ensues. Features: - No blue boxes or cultivation, this is not a LitRPG nor about martial arts - Hard-ish Sci-Fi meets hard-ish magic - Generally trying to keep this "rational" Rationale: My primary goal with The Cosmic Interloper is to write something that I myself would enjoy reading. Of course, that’s not the only motivation, but I think it’s the most important one for me to keep in mind, especially as the author. In fact, this whole story came about because after consuming oodles of fiction, I found myself craving a very specific type of story which I couldn’t find many examples of. Then I asked myself, “why not write it myself?” and here we are. Disclaimer: In general, while I’m not writing a comedy, I do intend for this story to be funny and a bit wacky or absurd. That said though, I am using this story as a vehicle to explore some potentially dark topics including (but not limited to) slavery, speciesism/racism, and existential questions of self, consciousness, and identity. Still, I’m going to leave the “traumatizing content” tags off, because I don’t feel that what I’ve written so far (or plan on writing) exceeds the threshold that would be necessary for me to tag it thusly. Also, [insert your favorite boilerplate “views expressed” disclaimer here]. I shouldn’t need to say this, but the main character can be wrong on occasion (gasp!) and the way she views the world is not the objective truth (if such a thing even exists).
8 162The Last Woman on Earth: A Military Sci-fi Intrigue
A disillusioned military officer and the self-proclaimed ‘last woman on Earth’ embark on a journey to uncover the truth behind a world without women. Second Lieutenant Alexei Vronsky is clinging to his sanity after his comrade was killed in a prolonged siege, but the time for self-loathing and wall punching is over. He finds an intruder in his room, who claims to be a woman—a mythical creature only existed in ancient texts. Against his expectation, she has no wings attached to her back, no laser guns on her shoulders, and not the slightest idea about the endless war between the Republic of Moskva and its vassal states. Suspecting she’s a government experiment, Alexei determines to find answers to the impossible existence of women. However, the deeper he digs into the dark, the further he realizes there’s more to the eternal war than he’s allowed to know. And the sooner he can stop the cycle of needless deaths the better, before he's shut down. Permanently. [Apart from being a war novel, this story is also a progression fantasy. The MC will get stronger, acquire more special abilities and fighting gears. They come later in the story, though.]
8 124The Daily Diary of a VRMMO-playing Dragon (Complete)
This is the story of a dragon playing video games to save the love of his life. By the author of The Blue Mage Raised by Dragons, The Godking's Legacy, and Demon's Journey.
8 143Anti-Hero: Journey of Fear
There is a story where the hero makes friends, completes quests, and saves the world. This is NOT that story. In the VR world of Fate: Experience Acute Realism, the main character cuts his way through both the players and NPCs alike. This story takes a close look at how a true full immersion VR would be played. The setting is an open VR world where the players struggle to survive with a lack of knowledge and the NPCs panic in regards to the Travelers invading their world. The anti-hero of this story is cold and calculating. Sparing no one from his reign of terror he gives into occasional bouts of kindness before he is forced back on the path of blood and tears. For where there is a hero who seeks to bring people together to help the world move forward, there is an anti-hero who brings people together to seize the world for himself. WARNING: This story contains extreme violence, in every single chapter. This story contains references to sex, but no explicit scenes. This story has light to mild swearing. My chapters normally range from 4,000 to 5,000 words. This story does not contain happy endings, middles, or even beginnings.

8 204I thought I was right
My story is about magical angels that have to save the world. I am new to writing so there are lots of plot holes. I am trying to fix them but please be lenient. My main character used to be an angel but the demons have overthrown them. Now a magical human, they must fight to return balance to the over world.
