《Let's Play: Chronicles of Zurefgar》Intermission: Renma

Against all odds, Renma was the first one to ‘finish’ building his character. Not in the sense that he reached level 80 faster than the rest of us, of course, but because he actually had everything else already set up - other than level and item. Duh.
He completed the Discipline path and is now just spending the remaining points on the Atonement path. He also had all of his custom abilities set, including that archangel thingy.
Yes… archangel… where did I see it before? Owh, it's Tsalazar.
Let me guess, since Tsalazar was such a showoff, Renma might have seen him duelling and suddenly got inspired.
However, what surprised me was that… Renma seemed to be successful in actually not being Tsalazar. Yes, many players that are inspired by Tsalazar would choose the similar path of going offensive when turning into an angel. They failed miserably of course… because of the lack of originality, unlike Renma.
Speaking of originality, how on earth would Renma pick an angel of death as some kind of saviour form? To make it worse, he actually aimed for Jackal’s Pilgrim set which was based on the egyptian death god Anubis. Death related holy priest that focuses on healing, where would he get inspiration for that?
Don’t answer, I knew it would be my deskmate.
Anyway Renma’s custom abilities are really something to watch. As we know, [Guarding Radiance] is his go to ability. Blocking 1 instance of damage on a whim with low cooldown is very useful indeed. It is amusing to see that he thought about it without the influence of my deskmate. His other go to ability would be [Righteous Devotion] for constant healing. Bet he made this ability because he’s just too lazy.
Both [Diffracted Judgment] and [Spiritual Judgment] actually have almost the same effect. It converted damage done into shields. The difference was that the diffracted one had a cone shape after hitting something while the spiritual one damaged and slows everything around him. Both were rarely used. I am not sure why he wasted a custom ability slot for such abilities.

Two other abilities that he actually spammed but others don’t barely realise their existence are [Jibril’s Grace] and [Mikhail’s Vow]. The first one is a buff for faster casting and movement speed while the latter gave MP cost and cooldown reduction on defensive spells as well as making a mini guarding radiance on both of Renma’s palm. It is rather amusing to see that he actually took advantage of the martial arts he learned in real life to defend himself in game.
By the way, the two abilities are named after an archangel, so… you should know where this is going.
Yes, the two must be casted on Renma before he could assume his archangel form. Thus, the form doesn't take any custom ability slot because it is the combined effect of the two. Cheating, that is surely cheating.
However, I have to say that the archangel form was not his best ability. It was actually [Purification] that would brought up Renma’s character usefulness into a whole new level. Deleting all buffs and debuffs with a flick from his fingers on a low cooldown basis is something any player should be aware of.
Sigh… I know Renma is a very reliable priest, but… it just ticks me off when my deskmate often chose to play with Renma and just ignored me.

Gods How I Hate Nature
While there are always choices in life, lately they’ve all tended to skew between bad, terrible, and suicidal. Tome finds himself typically choosing the latter. As if people and plants consistently trying to kill him wasn’t bad enough, he finds himself sent off to a Mage Spire along with a self-righteous other worlder (as though there were any other kind). Add to this some powerful figures in black, a sadistic instructor, an uptight law keeper, and Tome just wants to go back to his room, down a pint, and forget about everything… But, when someone starts a fight, especially someone bigger and stronger, you bide your time and strength. Before you can get revenge, you have to settle for surviving and slowly gaining power. That means accepting the most suicidal choices, doing the jobs no one else will do, always smiling, and not slitting that other worlder’s throat… (The story will incorporate comedy, but it will be a dark story. This won't be a happy, uplifting tale, but it also won't be too morose or depressing. Though if you're rooting for the other worlders, then I suppose it will be...)

Maitbudi
Fermboi was a man of one ideal: make the weak strong. When his rebellion against the king proved futile, he was given another chance at life. This time, he sought to do nothing after realizing the hopelessness of it all. Aventina wanted to do nothing more than to follow her father’s footsteps. On a retaliation raid against her tribe’s enemies, her brothers perished. Spared by a leader of her enemies, she returned home to find herself the chief of her tribe. Bolahulag, half-civilized and half-barbarian, half-lowborn and half-royal. Raised in his mother’s civilized tent in a sea of barbaric shelters, Bolahulag was hesitant to follow his paternal way of life. After a battle between a civilized king and his father, Bolahulag was sent as hostage to learn the economy and military of the nation his father defeated. Derai knew nothing more than being an orphan, but when a merchant took her in, the world she thought impossible soon became a reality. Monghe, stuck in a school exemplifying strength for most of his life, began to understand what he needed to do in order to be strong instead of weak. Story is mostly about nothing. Fermboi does most of the nothing. Aventina does most of the military things. Bolahulag does a balance of economy and military. Derai focuses on economy. Monghe spitfires what it means to be a typical hero. Hopefully this is enough to give a general idea to people who don’t like going blind aside from the work being purportedly “good.” Who am I kidding, my writing is terrible. I hope it improves though.
