《Let's Play: Chronicles of Zurefgar》Intermission: Warlock

According to what I heard from other players, warlocks are relatively easier to play compared to wizards due to their easier targeting capability. Unlike most wizard abilities, most warlock abilities lock on a specific target when casted. On top of that, they can be more static in their positioning due to their abilities to have some sort of demonic defensive power up or having summoned demons to block damage for them.
Alas, easier might it sound, yet it never meant to be any easier to master which in turn trapped a lot of people.
Unlike wizards who you could clearly see what on earth they are actually doing with an array of magical bombardments, warlocks are often more subtle. From what I see, they mainly play with curses that do damage over time.
Oh, but it does not mean that it will kill you slowly. I mean… Some warlocks could kill you in mere moments by stacking up the damage over time on top of one another.
By the way, lore-wise, my diligent deskmate once mentioned that warlocks - though also using fire and ice based magic - are not manipulating energy like wizards do. They are leaning towards using dark or demonic magic to unleash fire and ice. My deskmate also pointed out that warlocks are probably wizards who went astray due to their thirst for power and knowledge. Well.. that is a lovely loremaster for you.
Ahem, back to the main topic. Warlocks have six paths to choose which are Pryomania for fire magic techniques, Conflagration for combination of fire and dark magic, Cold Snap for pure ice, Chilling Touch for combination of ice and dark, Affliction that focuses on nasty curses, and of course Spiritualism that focuses on the usage of summoned demon.
Anyway, rakhs is the only race that does not have a warlock for obvious reasons that old man Ril’Dil has been telling us through the quests.

This is an original tale made as an homage to the famed Studio Ghibli and Guillermo Del Toro, all-the-while taking inspirations from numerous animes and fantasies alike (Too many to love! Too many to name!). When a bloody catastrophe strikes a young boy's home, desperation brings about an unknown visitor. Plagued with gut-wrenching fear and an oncoming spiral into madness comes the boy's only hope of survival. Ripe with desperate opportunity, arrives the many-faced creature rushing to make a deal worth several lifetimes. "To find your way into your parent's arms again, you'll need to become a Valiant." He explained. "A Valiant?" I responded suspiciously. "...One must perform a 3-part task in which you must demonstrate the essence of a Mother, the essence of a Father, and earn the essence of a Gaurdian." He explained with haste. Innocently playing into the unknown visitor's tempting hand, the boy agrees to a deal hopelessly intertwined with a journey like no other and is sent to the mysterious and massive city of New Dwarden. Faced with outrageously colorful characters, towering and seemingly alien animal life, and even talking frogs-lemur's, the boy must adapt to grand adventure to complete his impossible task.
