《Let's Play: Chronicles of Zurefgar》Intermission: Avenger

I will be honest…
I was completely shocked when I saw Zackhs. Like… he picked the generally least chosen class. Talk about being bold and overly positive.
Here is the thing, avengers are superbly powerful in defensive terms, especially against magical attacks. And, like it or not, a lot of attacks in dungeons are actually magical in nature. Even against physical ones, they are superbly strong because they can pick a path that has some shadowy tricks like those provided by rogue’s Subtlety path.
The problem? Levelling is beyond nightmare-ish. Especially if you are levelling alone.
Why? They dealt really small damage. Small, like, small small. And this statement was made by a beautiful girl who once played a defensive warrior who took the Unbreakable path, and is currently playing as a defensive guardian paladin. Putting aside [Sanctity Edge], my other abilities and normal attacks still deal more damage than avengers of similar level.
But to be fair, their threat management is also much better than mine. Some avengers even have better threat management than warriors.
But still, imagine comparing those damage output to other non-defensive classes that deal more damage. And think about how long it takes to deal with one monster at a time with this class when levelling.
They are really unpopular because of this dependency.
However, it needs to be addressed that they are superbly powerful at maximum level when played right. The combination of unbreakable defences like those of warriors and their shadow magic made them very hard to take down.
Slowly, their opponents will run out of HP or resources without realising it until it is too late. Well, dealing very small damage over time with shadow magic is definitely much better than not dealing damage at all.
Seriously, I would gladly clap my hands in approval when any of these avengers proudly claimed that, “Defence is the best offence.”

Anyway, avengers are only available for the undead class for clear reasons. They also only have three choices of paths which are Concealing for magical resistance and some physical defences, Shadow Embrace that empowers their curses and some trickery, and Regretful Blessings for buffs and debuffs. Boy, look at those path names. My childhood best friend should have taken this class and made a character named Edgy Wrespati. That definitely suits him.
By the way, if I met my deskmate earlier in the game I would not be hesitant in taking the avenger class. I mean, someone would have dealt enough damage and I would be a much better defender for the others.
Also, I will definitely steal Zackhs idea and pick a vampire-esque look so I would still be pretty. Perhaps more beautiful and a bit more mature. And thus I could keep my deskmate’s gaze upon me for a little longer…
Ugh, the temperature on my face has unwelcomingly increased, this must be a fever.

It was rumored that even the mighty krakens were under the control of the sea witches. Who, what, or where these witches were, no one knew. But no one sought them out either. The avarice of a mad king leads to the folly of a kingdom. Only a single turret survived the catastrophe, a single tower which protrudes outwardly from a boundless ocean, rumored to house the very creature which wreaked havoc and devastation. Wolf's Oath Book 1: Oath Sworn
In Aralt ‘Wolf” syr Tremayne’s world, skyships sail above tidal extremes, crystal swords are Tuned, and the soul-touched inspire both awe and fear. The latter doesn’t phase him, he carries a Tuned blade, and as for the ships…Aralt prefers to keep his feet on solid ground. As revenge against a common enemy boils in his blood, Aralt struggles to do his oath-sworn duty and secure sanctuary for the heir-apparent to a mystical dynasty. Death, Aralt realizes, might be the greater mercy. ---------------------------------------------------------- What to Expect: Character-driven Plot Novel Pacing (which I accept isn't typical for serials) Elaborate Worldbuilding (you gotta pay attention) Soul-bonded Swords Sentient Wolves Longish Chapters What Not to Expect: Litrpg (sorry!) Harem (not sorry!) Magic System Short Chapters Dancing Bears (at least so far) Seriously, this is a second-world low fantasy/science-fantasy featuring a strong, but flawed male protagonist, a cheeky teenage boy that’s driving him crazy, a wee bit o’ Scots flavor, and a whole lot of culture clashing. I’m preparing to relaunch this story on Kindle once the second and third books are ready and I’d love some feedback as I move through those revisions. I'm serious about the feedback. All comments are welcome. I'll name a characters after you. And kill them, if you want. :) Oh, did I mention soulless assassins and cannibals? Yeah, Aralt’s day is not getting any better. cover image by brosedesignz

Nexus
Not a real reincarnation. Welcome to Nexus. A place where the multiverse intersects. Chris Garcia was trying to do the right thing for his sibling when he is shot and killed. Instead of his soul moving on to the next life. He is given another opportunity. Well of course he takes it. Or there will be no story. He gets some ability then dumped into the Nexus. He has much to learn, lucky for him, his ability brings him allies so he won’t die so quickly. (This is my attempt to improve my writing skill. Constuctive criticism are highly welcome) *Note: Some things will develop fast. Other will be a slow burner. Tags will be added as I progress the story. (Honestly, I have no idea where this story is going anymore). Please don't rate this story yet. Give me till 100 chapter to figure out what I'm doing haha. If I can simply entertain some of the readers, that's enough for me. Thanks for taking the time to read! I decide to not edit past chapters. Only touch up on grammers if I get around to it. I want to see the progression of my writing skill.

Rozmowy Nie Na Temat- Kuroshitsuji. [ ZAWIESZONE ]
