Heath looked at his watch and saw
Heath
Name: Heath
Age: 15
Affiliation: None
Rank: Beginner (No Evaluation)
Poke Dollars - 400
-
Team – 1
He then saw other tabs which was: Market, Missions, and Quest.
“Sick” Heath blurted out before clicking mission and reviewing the ones he had left.
[D rank: Clear the Growing Beedrill colony]
[F rank: Gather 10 Sitrus Berries]
[D rank: Clear the Sentrets in Littleroot Crossing]
[D rank: Catch a Taillow]
‘I should’ve seen which one has updated, but too late for that now.’ Heath clicked on the only F-rank mission left and scanned the qr code that was register with the quest.
[Mission issued: Gather 10 Sitrus Berries]
Reward: 5K Pokédollars, Random Item
“The item wasn’t a part of the rewards yesterday?” Heath said confused.
“Huh?” Piplup chirped still on Heath’s head acting drowsy.
[System can add rewards, once evaluated]
“That’s actually pretty cool but where does the items come from”
[..]
“Okay…”
Heath managed to make it to the forest and hastily went through the bushes and shrubbery. Once inside Heath took the retook the path, he was on the previous day but when he got to the tree from the battle of with Kakuna he turned north towards Oldale. The forest was a lot bigger than in the game but so was most of the things in this world. The only thing Heath saw that was consistent was Humans, food and pokémon on average. Even pokémon weren’t sometimes consistent as they would be bigger or smaller but generally, they were the same size of the game’s pokedex. Heath managed to get to the territory where the Sitrus berries were and unlike the Oran berries they seemed to be more abundant.
“Piplup snack on this to wake up” Heath handed the Sitrus berry to Piplup who was happy to accept the delectable treat. Once Piplup was done, they continued collecting berries which only took a couple of hours. During this time Heath and Piplup manage to collect 8 Sitrus Berries.
“We only need two more” Heath said to Piplup who was eyeing their surroundings for any berries that appeared.
“Nido Nid” Nidoran(M) muttered as it appeared as it looked slightly agitated.
‘I can’t hear what it’s saying, is it only my pokémon… but no I heard Torchic’ Heath thought before getting behind Piplup continuing until he felt safe.
“Are we going to battle?” Piplup asked with a chirp. Heath thought about any chance of evading but upon remembering yesterday he thought.
‘We need to get stronger’
‘Observe’
Nidoran
Age: 9
Gender: M
Rank: Copper (Lv. 10)
Potential: Silver
Moves: Peck [Minor Mastery], Focus Energy, Leer, Poison Sting
Ability: Rivalry, Hustle
‘What is Minor Mastery, Torchic had it too? And two abilities? Ugh we really do need to get stronger’ Heath promised himself to train himself and Piplup to ground things when they got back.
[Pokémon that focus on using a move during training or through experience can obtain Mastery which improves the move being used. Moves with mastery are stronger and faster than its non-mastery counterpart.]

[Like Pokémon who aren’t limited to 4 moves, pokémon also aren’t limited to one ability]
‘That’s cool but fuck that. The Nidoran doesn’t have Poison point or mastery over Poison string so that’s the only good side. I should catch this for the professor’ Heath thought.
“Piplup be careful it has poison string, so avoid that move the best you can. Capitalize on any misses with your quickest water gun.” Heath quickly demanded.
‘Okay I’m ready’ Piplup remained focus on its opponent with a fiery passion. The Nidoran seeing the Human and the pokémon look at it like prey he became slightly unnerved.
[Nidoran(M) Has become unnerved]
Heath took this as his chance to take the advantage, so he quickly sent out his first move.
“Piplup climb the tree and use Water Gun on the Nidoran. Avoid any hits” Heath ordered. Piplup quickly ran to a tree not to far from where they were at and scaled it. Reaching the top Piplup jumped, while quickly dispersing two water bullets. The Nidoran dodged the first and second like they were nothing and charged a poison sting. Having Rivalry, its attack was stronger than most, so it recklessly ran towards Piplup once the penguin had landed on the ground. Being warned this might happened. It charged up a Water Gun while waiting for the Nidoran who was quickly approaching. Before the Nidoran hit, Piplup jumped to the side of its body to avoid the attack while spraying the Nidoran with a Water Gun. Piplup manage to hit Nidoran straight on. Being hit the Nidoran rolled on the ground a couple of time before getting a grasped on the ground. Seeing this Heath directed once more.
“Get close and use Water Gun again, dodge if it attacks”
Piplup charged up a water gun while running towards the Nidoran who currently had its eyes close.
‘Is it using focus energy? That might be bad with its attack boosted so high naturally’ Heath thought.
“Use Water Gun now” Heath commanded.
Piplup saw that Nidoran was planning something, so it shot out a fast bullet that quickly approached the Nidoran. When it was about to hit, Heath saw something unexpected. The Nidoran used Peck, which slit Piplup’s Water in half. The Nidoran who had a glowing horn charged its way over to Piplup who when seeing this felt his body become alert to the danger ahead
“Avoid the Peck at all costs. Continue to use Water Gun” Heath ordered.
“Okay” Piplup chirped before jumping up and using Water Gun. Unfortunately, the Nidoran hit Piplup which cause Piplup to get hurled up in the air. It shot the Water Gun which unlike previous time propelled him towards a tree. Almost falling off Piplup landed on a branched and viewed that the Water Gun hit the Nidoran on it’s back. Piplup then used Water gun again and this time he continued using it for a couple of seconds when it ran out of energy for the move. There Nidoran laid unconscious, and Heath went over from where he was commanding while Piplup joined. Grabbing a pokéball and pressing it gently on the unconscious beast, a red flash enveloped the purple creature and the pokéball hummed in Heath’s hands. Making three jerky shakes before the vibrations stopped completely.

[Would user like turn Nidoran [M]?]
‘No’ Heath thought, before another ding was heard
[User has captured his first pokémon. User is gifted a Potion]
‘Pokémon 1 Status?’

‘Piplup’
Piplup
Age: 7
Lv. 9 (Copper)
Exp: 57/141
Moves: Pound, Growl, Water Gun
Ability: Torrent
‘No wonder the water gun was split. We need to get a mastery soon’ Heath thought.
‘System where do your items go to?’
[Items given by the system has been transferred to your SSD.]
‘And previously?’ Heath asked the system.
[..]
Heath took out a Sitrus berry and used it on Piplup who was mostly had damaged from the peck.
“Jeez that Peck got you good huh,” Heath said as it handed a berry towards the sitting Penguin.
‘I’m fine’ Piplup refused the berry insisting that it was fine.
“I need you to be more than fine but Okay, we might need that Piplup. Stop being childish and recover, what if we face a stronger Pokémon?” Heath insisted. Piplup shook its head once more but after Heath poked the bruised spot Piplup to chirp incessantly. Heath offered the Sitrus once more but this time it resulted in Piplup taking it. Heath looked around the area they were at to make sure there weren’t any Sitrus berries and luckily, he found a couple other berries.
“We could use this Pecha berry for poison since we only seem to fight pokémon with poison moves”
Heath said before thinking about the Torchic fight which he thought was bullshit. Getting out of his thoughts he stored a couple of Pecha in a regular pocket in his sack before putting the rest of the berries in his SSD. He went back to Piplup who seemed to appear a lot better than when they finished the fight. They continued on, finding Berries and Capturing pokémon for hours before they decided to take a break for lunch. Heath took out a two bowls, one for water and the other for food. Piplup once Heath was done, immediately tucked in while Heath just sat down next to his blue partner taking out his own food.
‘We got the 10 Sitrus Berries like the quest specifies. I wonder what the additional rewards will be?’ He thought, He went to his C-Gear and looked at the submission part of the quest before the system intervened.
‘Would User like to finish the F-rank mission: Gather 10 Sitrus berries?’
‘I wanted to see how I would do it normally though’
[The user would have to use the transfer device installed in all SSD’s and transfer the item via the government’s protocol.]
‘Sounds complicated’ Heath thought before accepting the System’s offer.
[F-rank mission completed. Money transferred to bank. Item has been chosen and put into SSD]
‘Are the berries in there or no?’ Heath thought before looking. They had managed to collect 23 Sitrus berries, Piplup ate three in all of the battles he had today, and there only appeared to be 10 in there left.
‘I’m a little disappointed, I had a small amount of hope that the system would allow me to keep the berries but this is alright’ Heath thought as he took out the Item. It was a red bandana that perfectly contrasted Piplup’s colour.
‘What is this?’
[Defying Bravery]
A lost Bandana which was worn by the first caught Piplup in Hisui. This Artifact is said to give the Piplup line at a small boost in power when being Brave.
Affect passive: gains ability Speed Boost.
Conditional Active effect: +5 Levels
“Holy Shit Piplup come here” Heath called. Piplup had just finished but taking interest in its trainer interest it waddled its way over.
“What do you think about wearing this?”
‘Okay?’ Piplup chirped confused but Heath put the Bandana around Piplup’s neck, Heath immediately recognized it as Piplup looked like a Mystery explorer character.
“You look cool” He complimented.
“I always look cool” Piplup replied to which Heath chopped in its head causing Piplup to fall.
Piplup waddled away leaving Heath to its own devices.
“Spoiled” Heath smiled as he ignored the Piplup who was acting like a prince. Heath then went over his inventory.
‘So, we fought a lv. 10 Nidoran from earlier, then a lv. 7 Pidgey, a lv. 9 Seedot, and another lv. 8 Nidoran which I managed to catch. Unfortunately, Piplup had to kill the lv. 9 Poochyhena and Rattata which I thought would be the easier captures. At least this time I keep the bodies and they also give more experience than when I catch them’ Heath thought as he pulled up Piplup’s stats
‘Piplup’
Piplup
Age: 7
Lv. 12 (Silver)
Exp: 232/288
Moves: Pound, Growl, Water Gun
Ability: Torrent, Speed Boost
‘A lot of question sprung out when Piplup hit the Silver rank, I asked him if he felt better but he just responded by shooting a Water Gun at a tree and then smirking. I was about berate him but when I saw the tree and the damage he had done, I felt slightly proud. I immediately asked the system when was the limit rank for silver? With it replying that based on information gathered Silver starts when User’s pokémon reaches the level of 11. It looks like Piplup has finally developed into a proper pokémon to battle against trainers with.’ Heath thought then looked at the sky, which was beautifully clear before concluding.
‘Close, but we still need to do more battling’
He proceeded to look at his remaining quest.

8 177The Saga of Armageddon: The Call of Crows
Bjorn Stormtamer's world has been turned upside down in more ways than one. His shipmates have left him for dead on an island for quarantining victims of a disease that he now has. His partner in battle despises him, his family thinks he's dead and everyone else thinks it was good riddance. Moreover, the world is under attack by a virulent plague that kills with light and an empire from the east whose intentions are unknown but whose methods are merciless and bloodthirsty. Little does he know that the world itself is nearly on the brink of cosmic collapse. But when a bold, charismatic woman from another nation seeks him out, Bjorn discovers that the plague he has was not a plague at all, but a trial. A trial to determine who is worthy to wield the power of gods in order to give humanity a fighting chance against the winds of fate. This novel was written 2 years ago and isn't exactly my best work. I'm still improving my skills, but I encourage you to enjoy it for what it's worth. ALSO, the whole plague thing was written about before the COVID pandemic. The plague is fake and actually magic in the story, but that has NOTHING to do with real world events. I am under NO CIRCUMSTANCE trying to make ANY kind of statement with it. Please just enjoy the story and stay safe.
