Magic Duel Arc.

Flashback to the night before.

Professor Asparata mentions that she has an idea.

Both Valoran and Artemsia look curiously and await what idea Professor Asparata has.

"How about Artemsia joins our Academy?"-Professor Asparata says.

Artemsia looks shocked to hear that. However, she is excited to hear that this could be possible to spend more time with Valoran and meet new people.

" I would like to join"-Artemsia said with a smile.

" Is that possible for her? She has not taken the enrolment exams."-Valoran asked.

"It is fine. Just come to the academy one hour early tomorrow" -Professor Asparata said.

With that Valoran and Artemsia teleported home as their assistance was no longer required since the city guards are now taking care of the situation involving the children and parents are starting to arrive with tears of joy and are glad that their children are alive.

They arrive home.

They walk into the door where Aelina awaits them both.

"Where have you been you two?"-Aelina asked.

" I am sorry mother I was helping out my teacher with something and I asked Artemsia for some assistance"-Valoran said.

Aelina knew that Valoran will be safe from any danger.

"Valoran. I know your power and no one can hurt you. But I am still your mother. I will always worry about you. A Mother always worries about her child."-Aelina says.

"I'm sorry Mother. I promise I will not put you in that situation again." -Valoran said.

Artemsia also felt guilt as she did not tell Aelina the situation before she left.

"I am sorry. Valoran contacted me and I asked for my help. I should have told you. "-Artemsia said.

"No. Thank you for helping Valoran when he was in need."- Aelina said with gratitude to Artemsia.

Now that the matter is settled Aelina prepares dinner for Valoran and Artemsia.

" I made some dinner."-Aelina said.

"Thank you I can eat something right now"-Valoran replied.

Valoran then informs his mother about Artemsia being able to join the Academy.

" Mother. Tomorrow Artemsia and I will be leaving a little early tomorrow. Artemsia was offered a place at the academy. "

"Yes. He's right I was offered a chance to join the academy. It would be a great place to learn about the modern age as well as try to adapt to this new age along with it."-Artemsia explained.

"It's fine. I am glad you did. I am sure that someone with your capabilities will easily be accepted into the Academy"-Aelina said.

" Thank you"-Artemsia replied.

With that Valoran and Artemsia, both ate their dinner and went to bed.

The next morning.

Valoran and Artemsia are getting ready to leave the home for the Academy.

"Ready to leave?"-Valoran asked Artemsia.

"I am. Let's go." -Artemsia replied.

With that, they both left the house and started walking toward the Academy.

Valoran then asks Artemsia questions about her freedom.

"Your new life. How is it going until now?"

"It's a miracle. I am still adapting to the new era"-Artemsia said.

"I know attending the Academy will help you with that. "-Valoran replied.

"I hope so" -Artemsia replied.

They arrive at the academy where Professor Asparata eagerly awaits them both.

"Morning to the both of you"-Professor Asparata said with a smile.

They both reply with:

" Good morning"

They then headed inside the main building. Artemsia praised the Academies interior.

"What a beautiful Academy"-Artemsia said.

Valoran chuckles a little.

" That's what I thought of"-Valoran said chuckling.

They arrive in front of the headmaster's office.

Professor Asparata knocks on the door.

(Knock. Knock)

"Come on in"- Headmaster Aegnor Aldon said.

They walked into the headmaster's office.

The headmaster stands up from his chair and greets both Valoran and Artemsia.

" Greetings both of you"

"I presume you are Artemsia. Professor Asparata mentioned your extraordinary talents"-Headmaster Aegnor said.

"You have my thanks" -Artemsia replied.

"Normally, we don't grant new spaces during the academic year. However, we have made exceptions for those who possessed a vast amount of talent for magic"-Headmaster Aegnor said.

" It's true. I spoke highly of your capabilities and we think you fit in just fine"-Professor Asparata said.

"Correct. I hereby name you Artemsia as one of our students"-Headmaster Aegnor said.

He then gets a uniform for Artemsia ready.

" This is your uniform. It's not measured by your body. If it's a little too small or too big let me know and we will sort the matter in no time"-Headmaster Aegnor said.

"Congratulations Artemsia"-Valoran said.

End of flashback.

Artemsia walks toward Valoran and his group of friends.

"You must be Valoran's friends. It's nice to meet you all"-Artemsia said with a smile.

Atticus, Selina and Biatrix all introduce themselves to her.

Once they have introduced themselves professor Asparata has another announcement to make.

" Listen up students. We need to prepare for the magic duel against Halivaara second class academy. It's less than a week away.

Each team will assign one team captain as the representative."-Professor Asparata said.

"You should be the captain of our group Valoran. "-Atticus said.

Selina follows up with...

" He's right. You are the best choice"

Even the quiet Biatrix agrees.

"I also agree with you being our captain"

Professor Asparata then looks toward Valoran's group.

"Is it safe to assume that you will be the captain Valoran Silver?"-She asked with a smile.

Valoran stands up.

"Yes I will be the captain of this group"- He said with a firm voice.

" Excellent. You will be group 1."- Professor Asparata says to Valoran.

With that settled Professor Asparata begins to explain the unique rules of the tournament.

"Listen, class. The rules for this year's duels are a bit complicated.

1. It's a 1v1 match between students. The winner gets 3 points.

2. It's usually the same year group competing against one another. However, you can gain more if you are able to defeat a student who is a year above you.

If you can defeat someone in the second year group you gain 5 points.

If you are able to even defeat a third-year student you will receive 7 points.

3. During the magic duels. 2v2 matches are also taking place.

If you win you will receive 3 points.

If you defeat someone who is in the second year you will receive 5 points.

Defeating a third-year tag team will earn you 7 points.

4. There is a twist, however. If you are confident enough you can duel with an audience member as your tag team partner. If you manage to win with an audience member you will receive 10 points and even more depending on the age as well as strength of the audience member you are duelling together with. "-Professor Asparata explains.

" Seems easy enough"-Valoran says to his teammates.

"Students since we got less than a week, please train and prepare as much you can"-Professor Asparata says.

Professor Asparata then explains the role that the team captains.

" Team Captains. Your job is to assign the order of your team's participation. You also hold more value. It means that if you are defeated in a 1v1 or a 2v2 match the other team gains double the points."-Professor Asparata explains.

With all that explained Professor Asparata excuses her students for them to prepare and train.

"You are excused. Please head to the arena and begin your team training."-Professor Asparata says.

Valoran, Atticus, Artemsia, Selina and Biatrix head toward the arena to train.

Valoran explains that Artemsia is also a powerful magic user just like himself.

"Please listen. Artemsia is helping me train you all. She's powerful and has a vast knowledge of magic, sportsmanship and hand to hand combat."-Valoran explains.

The others are thrilled to hear that.

" Great"-Selina says.

"I am excited to train with you"-Atticus says.

"Let's see what you got."-Biatrix says.

Next, all 5 start to train more intense than in the previous training sessions.

Selina and Biatrix train with Artemsia.

They attack her with swords first.

Artemsia is enjoying herself training with both of them.

"You have a lot of potential but your techniques are still unrefined"-Artemsia says.

Selina and Biatrix are glad to hear that.

" Thank you for your kind words"-Selina says.

"Valoran was right. You are very powerful"-Biatrix says.

They then start working on magic.

In the meanwhile.

Valoran and Atticus are having a conversation.

"Atticus out of everyone you are still behind. This is not due to your lack of strength and magic power. It's because you are still lacking confidence in yourself.

In comparison to before, we met I see a huge development in you. Your confidence has improved significantly. But. We will be fighting in front of thousands just in the arena and more since this will be broadcasted across the world.

This means your confidence must be improved further."- Valoran explains.

Atticus then looks worried but headstrong at the same time.

" I know and I will do my absolute best to train and improve."-Atticus says filled with confidence.

They then start training on magic and sportsmanship.

Over the next week for hours and hours on end, Artemsia and Valoran trained the others.

Until the week is over.

Valoran, Artemsia, Selina, Biatrix and Atticus are all gathered inside the Arena with all the other students in the academy.

The arena is completely filled with hundreds of thousands of people from all races cheering and can't wait for the duels to begin.

One of them includes Valoran's mother.

She is cheering on Valoran.

"VALORAN. SHOW THEM WHAT YOU GOT. YOUR MOTHER BELIEVES IN YOU. YOU TOO ARTEMSIA SHOW THEM YOUR POWER" -She yells.

Valoran then looks a little embarrassed which is unlike him.

"Oh, mother"-Valoran says in a quiet tone.

" What a lovely mother you have there"-Biatrix says.

Then...

The Halivaara second class academy arrives inside the arena.

The expression that they emit toward the rival students is almost toxic.

Valoran and the others quickly pick up on that fact.

"It seems that they are not on friendly terms"-Valoran says.

"Your right about that"-Biatrix says.

Then with both Academies in a formation with the Halivaara students on the right side and with Halivaara second class academy on the right side.

Then a demon narrator and a human commentator enter the centre Arena.

The demon narrator starts to announce the beginning of the duels.

" LADIES AND GENTLEMEN. WELCOME TO THE YEARLY ANNIVERSARY BETWEEN BOTH HALIVAARA FIRST AND SECOND ACADEMY. THIS YEAR WE WATCH ONCE AGAIN SOME INCREDIBLE DUELS. HOPE YOU ARE READY.

LET THE DUELS BEGIN"

With that, the academy students went off the arena.
