《Journey to Another World.... because of my Neighbour》Chater 10: Escort Quest (2)

For 6 days I worked in the Magic Guild, the first 3 days only translating ancient language books. However, for the last 3 days, I have been trying to research as well. Of course, good research material was locked behind Guild Points but for me who could directly read the ancient language, I could get research material anytime.
Magic is the use of Mana outside of skills. Of course, Magic skills are Skills that come from magic. At first, Magic did not exist, but people in early civilization started using Mana to control things other than skills. Such as elements, so the system adapted to it and made Skills out of these Magic spells.
So you could in a way say If there is no skill for it, we can use magic spells for it and get Magic Skills for it. Of course, magic itself is quite limited. Currently most magic is dependent on different elements. However there is a small amount dependent on Runes, Runes are the language of the universe. They're extremely hard to use and harder to research.
Currently, there are 18 Known elements. Or at least that's what ancient documents say. Morden society doesn't have any examples of some elements and doesn't believe in them. These elements are:
1. Fire
2. Water
3. Air
4. Earth
5. Light
6. Dark
7. Wood
8. Blood
9. Ice
10. Lightning
11. Sun
12. Moon
13. Soul
14. Gravity
15. Nuclear
16. Sky
17. Space
18. Time
These are the elements that the ancient Texts refer to as the True Elements. Of course, there are some sub-elements also mentioned as Hell Fire, Heavenly Fire, Phoenix Fire are Sub elements of Fire. However, some Scholars believe that these are just variations of the fire elements and suggest that Sub elements are more closely related to Elements that are born out of other Element's combinations. Such as Soul Fire being a combination of Soul and Fire element or Moon Water being a combination of Moon and Water Element.
Of course, if that is the case the argument can be made that the Ice element is then a sub-element as well and is the combination of Air and Water, but since even after replacing Water and Air in place of Ice, the spells do not work then that is not the case.

Currently, I was trying to create a spell using 2 elements. However to do that you must understand what is mastery of elements. First of all, a Mage would have Mastery over 4 Basic Elements and Affinity with Light and Dark. While a Magician (Master) would have Mastery over the first 6 elements and Affinity with the next two which are Wood and Blood. A Great Mage would have Mastery over the first 8 Elements and Mastery over the next two which are Ice and Lightning. A Sage would have Mastery over the first 10 Elements and Affinity with Sun and Moon.
With Affinity, you could use said element but cannot combine it with another one. That is where extra Magic Mastery comes to play. After you become a Mage you can master elements other than the 4 you already have. Such as me, who has Mastered Space element, a Mage can only master 2 elements other than the first 4.
That is the reason I was waiting for getting 10 thousand guild Points. There are elemental mastery scrolls that the Guild sells. The rare the scroll is it's more expensive as well. A Light and Dark element mastery scroll are 1000 guild points while Wood is 5000. They don't sell Blood element scroll as it is banned to use Blood element in Makkara kingdom. As for Ice and Lightning, each costs 10,000 Guild Points. I am planning to buy the Ice Element one. As I have already created a Spell that is a combination of Ice and Space elements.
Thus after getting myself to 10,200 points today I went into the guild shop and bought myself an Ice Element Mastery Scroll. Upon using it
{Ice Elemental Mastery acquired: Mage (Space) evolved to Mage(Space & Ice)}
Thus I used the spell I had created, as it could be used Indore quite easily.
Frozen Space: Creates a Space separate from the universe and freezes the target in this space completely.
This was an OP spell, only problem was its long chant.
Tomorrow Flora will be leaving Tut so after finishing up with Magic Guild, I went to the Adventurer's Guild. Flora had indirectly invited me to come to Runburg as well, so I was thinking of accepting the said invitation.

"Welcome to the Adventurer's Guild, how may I help you?" Flora asked.
"Hi Flora," I greeted "I was also thinking of going to Runburg, as you said it's a great city and I would be awarded for my deeps by your father as well. What do you say?"
Flora's lips curled up just a bit as she answered "Well, how about you come with me. As an escort of course."
Thus I accepted the escort quest and left the Adventurer's Guild. The next morning I came to the meeting place, there was no carriage or anything there. Just two people Flora and The Knight Garin.
"How are we going to Runburg?" I asked confused.
"Oh, good you're here. We'll be using Two-Tailed Lightning Horses."
After waiting for half an hour a Tamer came with Three Horses. They were actually monsters but Tamed. I have heard they are quite fast as well.
Flora and Garin climbed one horse each and I took the last one. I had no idea how to ride a horse. I was thinking about how to break it to them. But suddenly I remembered my Taming skill and used it.
{Two-Tailed Lightning Horse is already Tamed Monster}
{Would you like to ask for temporary ownership from the Tamer or would you like to use Demon King's Authority to forcefully take the ownership?}
When I chose the former, the Tamer looked at me, smiled, and nodded.
{Temporary Ownership Acquired}
After this, I became quite confident in using the horse, after all between Tamed Monster and its Master is a mental bond that you can use to give orders. Now all I need is to balance myself atop the horse.
Our speed was extraordinary, I would say we were going faster than any train I have been in. If not for my stats I probably would have died just from the wind pressure. There were many monsters who we avoided but many more whom we had to fight. Of course, as the escort, I was the only one fighting. They didn't even help. Most monsters were around level 20 to 25 whom I fought so I got a lot of experience.
We did not stop even at the night, Twin Tailed Lightning Horse can go up to 3 days at full speed before it gets tired. And as your level goes up, you can go on without a night's sleep quite easily. Thus even at night, we kept running. During the night monsters were more aggressive and we had to fight almost all that we came across. Since both Flora and Garin knew of my Inventory I used it freely and kept all monsters that I killed in it. I can then exchange these for money and stuff later. The second night we stopped before a forest. In the plains just outside it. According to Flora, who was quite chatty now, well at least for a person who hardly talked. "This is the Undead Forest, it's named like this because there are numerous undead-type monsters in this forest. And as these monsters only come at night, it's best to cross it tomorrow. "
This time I had my sleeping hag in my Inventory so I took it out and Flora took out a tent. She had a Spacial Pocket, it's a Magic Item that works similar to Item Box skill. Of course, unlike my Inventory both these had limits. Inventory didn't have any limit to how much I could store in it.
"Why are you taking out a sleeping bag, we'll all sleep in the Tent" the tent was a 4 BHK apartment. With bathroom attached. Being Rich is quite good I thought.
After a good night's sleep, we resumed our journey. I was already at Level 18 and after the Undead Forest which in the day didn't have many monsters, I advanced to Level 19. It took us till evening to reach Runburg.
The city was Simply a Fort. And security was also quite tight. But as soon as Garin showed a badge, we were allowed to enter without any chacks.

Magnus
Updates daily at 23:06 UTC. 2/1/2021 NOTE! This trilogy is being published by Aethon Books starting with book one on 5/1/2021. All books have been removed from RoyalRoad. This story was posted on RR in its entirety before being removed. Magnus Cromwell kills for a living. He’s organized, professional, efficient. Like a machine. But when his family’s life is on the line? That’s something else. That calls for the kind of warm-blooded vengeance that scorches earth and summons tungsten rods from space, leaves a whole lot of melted flesh, and no one to tell the tale. It should've been a blue milk run. As by-the-book as it gets. With his sister Nina out safe and the opposition decimated by hypersonic gunfire, MC wondered where they got the guts to even try. Then something hits him. Lays him out cold, and leaves him waking up to a fantasyland with nothing but his armor and a half-written note to guide him. It's a strange place where even stranger predators eye him for their next meal. Where his life’s on a timer, and where the darkest horrors haunt his dreams, painting visions of death. There's no right day to mess with Magnus Cromwell. But the universe sure managed to pick the absolute worst one. --- - MC is stone-cold, strong(OP), and gets even stronger, but he'll still face his fair share of challenges, both internal and external. - LitRPG-lite. No stats and an unconventional system. Expect abilities and progressions, but there will only ever be a handful of them. - Science Fiction and Fantasy collide, with a touch of mystery, Lovecraft, and body horror. - Professionally painted art scenes! - This series is finished. A Huge thank you to RoyalRoader MikeWe for the banner, and to NoDragons for his help editing the synopsis. Legend of the Guild: Point Blank
Status: On hiatus indefinitely, because I'm going to be busy and the story is now at a place where it needs major reconstruction. Curt is a young gunslinger from a small town called Ore Town, situated in a barren wasteland known as the Dusts. While sabotaging the gang threatening his town, Curt is forced to take a leap of faith, literally. He plunges into the sea of clouds expecting death, only to arrive in an entirely new world beneath his own. Saved by a young girl using magic, Curt isn't too sure what to make of his second chance of life. When he meets a fellow Duster who had fallen years ago, he's roped into becoming second-in-command of a brand new guild. Guild duties aren't easy, especially as Curt is tasked to recruit fighters to take on the Grand Guild Tournament, where the winning guild takes home an enormous prize pool -- and most importantly, a mysterious ticket to the fabled "Star City" that exists above the clouds. Going with the flow only takes him so far, and Curt soon finds himself burdened with more responsibility than he bargained for, including the fate of the two worlds. ==============================Wordpress This webnovel is written for fun, and everything posted is essentially a first draft. Beware of typos and lack of creative descriptions — my main priority is to get the story out over writing quality. Still, I hope you enjoy the story. Updates are sporadic, but I aim to release a chapter (~2000-3000 words) at least once a week. Average release time is 1 chapter/3 days. I took inspiration from the lore of the MMO, Dungeon Fighter Online (Dungeon & Fighter), and there may be easter eggs or references to the game, but the story and characters have become wholly original and standalone. [Note: Profanity tag is up because profanity is present, but infrequent]
