《Journey to Another World.... because of my Neighbour》Chapter 7 : Situation In Town

I reached the town when it was close to noon. However, something seems to be off about Tut. While it hasn't been much time for me, I could see something had happened.
Some carriages could not enter while waiting at the gate. A lot of people were coming going to a tent that has been set outside. Most people had worried expressions on their faces and some even looked as if they had lost all their will.
So I went to a coachman and asked him.
"Hey, do you know what's happening here?"
"No, I've tried to find out but they're only letting Adventurers inside that tent, where they're having a meeting on something."
"I'm also an adventure"
I was a bit curious but of course, I didn't move towards the tent until conforming it with a few more people.
"Stop! Are you an adventurer? Do you have an Adventure's card?"
"No, I'm only an H-Ranked Adventure"
Only Adventures who were at F-Rank or above get an Adventure's Card. So of course I didn't have one.
"Only Adventures with Adventure's Card are allowed to enter."
The guy looked like a guard, of course, some guards and other people were also going in without any Adventure's Card but I don't think I had any choice but to just move on and wait like others to enter the city.
As I turned around I heard a voice say
"Let him in"
It was a low voice but when saw who had spoken, she was almost a hundred meters away. Flora was the one who had let me in.
Of course, the guard didn't say anything and let me enter. So I went to Flora and asked her directly "What exactly is going on?"
"You'll know soon enough, I called you for a reason. Fellow me"
As soon as I entered the tent I was surprised to see it was more like a house. A big one at that. In the hall, a lot of Adventures were gathered along with some guards and were listening to a guy clad in Armor. He was wearing shiny blue armor and looked to be in his 50s. He was giving instructions to the group when we entered.
Then Flora said to him "Garin, come with me"
"Yes, Young Miss"
He excused himself from the group and followed us to a room. I didn't know how there was a room like this in a tent. Magic? Yeah, I'd believe that was the case but what kind of magic?
The room was better than the inn room I was in, it had windows and a small fireplace as well. 4 people were sitting on chairs when entered.
Men and Women were sitting close to each other. They were both in their late 30's. The man looked extremely skinny and was wearing a Magician's robe. These rob were an expensive item that I had read about when I found out I'm a mage. He also had a wand, so definitely a magician. As for the woman, she was a 7-foot-tall bodybuilder type of woman. A large battleax could be seen close to her chair, leaning towards the wall.

As for the other two, they were sitting far from each other as well as from the men and women. It seemed that the men and women were a couple or at least close friends. As for the other two, there was an old lady, maybe in her 70s or even older, who had a staff and was also wearing magician's robes. The other was a middle-aged guy in the guard's uniform, at least similar to guards.
After we entered Flora introduced them to me. Of course, her expressions were still emotionless.
"Ishant meet Sanya and Rago from the C-Ranked party Magic Axe, Lady Guala of the Magic Guild, Guard Captain Mill and you already met Garin, el Joven a knight from this County."
"And everyone meet Ishant the Space Mage"
At that everyone's eyes widened, they looked at me as if I were a new type of fossil that an archaeologist has just discovered. I suppose the secret was out. But still, did she know about my Hidden Class?
My Appraisal has leveled up and I also wanted to peep into her Status and get some revenge.
{Appraisal of the individual was blocked due to the influence of a higher level skill}
{Due to the influence of Demon King (Hidden Class) some of the information was forcefully acquired}
{Name: Flora de Vangulis
Age: 19
Gender: Female
Level: 50+
Class : [Magician (Master)] [???]
Job : [Noble(Rank - ???] [Women Of Letters] [???]
Skills : [Appraisal(Level 8)] [Sword Talent (Level 4)] [Archery (Level 7)] [Increased Status Effects Resistance (intermediate)] [Insight (Tier III)] [8 Element Basic Magic] [Forgive (Tier ???)] [Null Barrier] [Meditation (Level 10)] [Enhanced Senses] [Intuition] [Block Appraisal (Level 5+)] [???]...[???] }
Well, I did get a lot more information this time, however, she also looked at me strangely.
"What did you do?" She asked.
"I just used Appraisal on you," I answered honestly.
She narrowed her eyes "You don't have that skill, but I still feel you're telling the truth"
Wait so she could not see I have Appraisal. Why? Is the hidden Class truly hidden? So she can't see its skills even when using Level 8 Appraisal.
Before I could reply to her she turned back to her normal cold tone and said.
"Moving on, we are here because of the situation in Tut"
So when in the morning most Adventurers went on their quests, reports started coming in of high-level monsters sightings in the outer layer of Giant's foot forest. So the guild issued an emergency quest for it immediately and most Adventures had to go deal with it. The guard office was also informed and they sent a lot of guards to the forest side to protect civilians that were coming to the city.
Due to the emergency, all the authorities were focused on the Giant's Foot forest. However, at that time a group of bandits entered the town from the opposite side. Without any guards patrolling there. The only ones to stop the bandits were two guards at the gates. And against 30 or so bandits they didn't stand any chance.

Once in town bandits started getting hostages, most people who could stop them were on the opposite side of the town. So they captured more than 1000 civilians. When the news reached the authorities their hands were already bound.
Sacrificing a dozen or so hostages wasn't uncommon for the safety of the whole town. But what about 100, maybe if they're in a desperate situation. But more than a thousand people weren't something they could overlook.
Bandits' demands were simple, to get all authorities out from the gate close to Giant's foot forest. Bandits knew that with only two gates in the town if they were to circle the town it'd still take them till tomorrow morning to reach. That is if only elites are to travel.
During that time the bandits can loot the town and be out of the opposite side gate during midnight. And once all the authorities are out they can spread out and loot it thoroughly after all no civilians would be any match for them.
"Of course, this grand plan isn't to loot just a small town, what they really want is Job stones, specifically Adventure's Job stone that's in Tut's Adventures Guild." Flora clarified.
"What are the job stones?" I asked out of curiosity.
Flora paused for a second but replied" To get a Job you need these stones and specific spells related to that Job, you might have seen it when you become an Adventurer. All Jobs require a Job Stone and that spell to bestow a Job. Now think what'll happen if they are sold at Black Market?"
Anyone would be able to become an Adventurer. But why just Adventurer Job stone, there are other guilds here too.
"You might be thinking why are we only worried about Adventurer Job stone and not others? Job stones also have Ranks. In most towns, you'd only find a D-Ranked or at best a C-Ranked job stone. However, in our whole kingdom, only Tut and the Capital have B-Ranked Adventures Job stones. So with this stone, they won't just be able to become adventurers but B-Ranked Adventurers. "
Now I understood the gravity of the situation when your rank rises you get more Job skills and more power. A D-Ranked Adventurer can demand and village without a chief to follow all his orders upon announcing an emergency or a C-Ranked Adventurer is allowed to cross borders without any formalities.
These powers are given to them to do good and if they misuse them then the guild will take action against them. But what if they didn't register with the guild in the first place.
"Now why am I here, while it's true I'm a Mage(Space) I'm not actually that powerful."
At this point, Flora took a parchment and gave it to me. She also looked at Lady Guala. Lady Guala also took a parchment but instead of mine which had a spell, this one had magic circles drawn on it. She put it on the floor.
"As a space Mage, you can use space magic even if it's a lot more powerful than your current level can handle, you'll only need more Mana."
After Flora said this Lady Guala continued "The spell in your hand is a high-level space magic spell which can make a tear in space for half a minute. These Magic circles will be used to force that tear to open at the Adventurer guilds basement"
"And as far as Mana goes, this old Lady has a lot of it, while it's quite taxing to transfer your Mana to someone else, even that above their capacity. We don't really have a choice."
Wait so they don't know about Gate does her Appraisal only show her about Magic(Space) and nothing else?
I could certainly use Gate and not bother the old lady. After all from the heavy atmosphere, I could tell that it'd not just be taxing on her but might even be dangerous. But do I trust them?
After all, it was a Trump Card of mine, However, there were too many things I was hiding, the Hidden Class. Other Titles as well.
Now that I thought about it, of course, she couldn't see my Titles. Or she would have definitely asked me about it or shown great surprise. It wasn't just being a space Mage-level thing. Not being from this World, having a god as a friend. I'm pretty sure those things were not something that you could keep an emotionless face after reading.
I took a deep breath, having too many secrets would only make my life harder. And it's not like I'm telling it to random people.
"If you want to go inside the Adventurers guild, I can do it, my own way. However, I must first ask you that, this information will not leave the room."
The room fell silent for a moment until Flora said "I take the oath of secrecy" and soon after that Knight Garin followed. After that, the rest of the four also took the oath. We were the only ones in the room so I used Gate this was the first time I saw the genuine surprise on Flora's face. After all, she could probably feel the fluctuations in magic as well as the highly concentrated space element at the gate.
"Let's go," I said.
"Wait you're coming?" Asked the guard captain.
"Isn't the plan to get the Adventurers Job stone and get back?"
"No, since we didn't have any way to come back we thought we'd just hide in the city after getting the stone. They can't wait till morning so won't have so much time to find us" Flora replied.
"But if you're offering then I'd not hesitate, after all with you, the risk would be a lot less. If you can open the Gate back then we'd be able to completely secure the Adventurers Job stone."
So we all moved through the Gate.

The times and struggle of a orc cook in the Demon Lord's army. (On Hiatus due to reasons seen in summary)
Title needed a change. So a full honest update to you all who are reading and following this story. I'm putting this story on a Hiatus not only because of I'm trying to improve my spelling and grammer (which is slow going) but also due to other reasons listed down below. 1) The story is getting a full re-write as these last months have given me time to see what I have already writen and what else I have planned is not gonna work no matter how much I've tried with what I call 'test chapters' to see how what works or not. 2) I don't really have the time to write, mainly thanks to life deciding to throw a bunch of stuff and leaving me exhausted both mentally and physically. And what little free time I have is barely enough for me to do anything that other than sleep or play a game for maybe 15 min. 3) I have a job and bills to pay. Some of which are overdue. It also dose not help that thanks to the new inflations in prices, I've been struggling to get things in order. So now you all know. Once things have calmed down and gotten somewhat in order again, I'll be posting the new first chapter as soon as I can along with a new summary for the story. Until then, I hope you all have a nice day and enjoy all the other stories you can find around this wonderful site.
