《Journey to Another World.... because of my Neighbour》Chapter 4 : An Escort Quest

After the class acquisition I was pretty happy and to enjoy myself I went up to eat food outside the inn. The food in the inn was cheap and bland but the street food was pretty good. There was a stall which was selling some really great spicy deep fried rabbit meat. A lot of people also eat meats of monsters as it tastes more delicious then animals. The reason is said to be, because it has high ammount of mana in it. But not all monsters can be eaten and those that can be aren't easy to get. Thus most food in range of my pocket was animal one. But the deep fried rabbit meat which was cut into thin slices and poured with all kinda spices. Some even new one's that were probably only available in this world. I actually found out that most things from my previous world such as plants and animals were in fact in this world. But there were a lot things that were only in this world. As an Indian having new spices was really a great experience for me. And the best part was due to Always Fit I no longer needed to control myself to eat less.
Of course I can't eat more than my stomach can like Bratus but it's still amezing.
After that I went back to sleep at the inn. I needed ro to earn more money now and I had heard that while this town was one of best in this kingdom it was due to it's large businesses, even the Kingdom's headquarter of Marchent guild was here instead of in the capital. But it wasn't as good for Adventurers since living was more expensive and hunting grounds not enough for all the Adventures already in the city. So I needed to change the city.
The next day I went to the Adventures Guild, since what's the best way to leave the city? An escort mission. There was only single escort mission I could take. Even that was on G-Rank but since I could take a Quest one rank above mine it was okay.
They would be leaving tomorrow at dawn so for today I went to hunt Slimes again.
After I was done for the day I did not level up. I was thinking I would be able to today but all slimes were just around Level 2-4 so I was still short of 800 Exp from Level 6.
Next day I woke up before dawn, which was pretty hard without an Alarm I'm telling you.
That's why I had asked the inn keeper lady about it and she said she'll wake me up.
I reached the city gates and it was looking like sun is about to come up. There was already a party of 6 there.
They were called Arthur's Fellowship and were a F-Ranked party. Arthur was actually the leader and a 30 year old so man. He was quite polite and told me that they were just doing it since they were already going to that city. By the way we were going to a city called Tut it was quite close, you needed cross the plains and then there's a dense forest. However since a lot of people are going through it. It wasn't counted as anything dangerous.

He asked me what was my class so I just said Mage since I thought telling him I could use Space Magic which I had already read wasn't common and was even counted as legendary. It said only in big Kingdom's you'll find people who can use it, would not be a good idea.
But for some reason he was still quite surprised.
"Wait! You are really a Mage? Not a Magician but a Mage?"
"Yeah, why are you so surprised?"
"You don't know? Maybe you just got this class then?"
"Yeah, I just turned Level 5 two days ago and got it, is it a rare class."
He looked at me and nodded
"Of course it is, you see even for F-Ranked parties like us finding a Magician is extremely hard. Even a novice Magician can enter a E-Ranked party. But what about a Mage it's the upgraded version of Magician Class so of course it's amazing. Of course, since you're just at Level 5 you'd not be able to get into high Ranked parties such as C-Ranked ones but I'm sure some D-Ranked party will be ready to take you in just as investment."
I didn't have an idea that Mage's were this important. What about Mage(Space)? Maybe I should get into a high level party?
Nah it'd be troublesome I shouldn't get into a party, after all how can I trust these people. Also since I was physically good as well and I'd just be getting better at Magic as well so going solo didn't sound to bad either.
After the rest 3 Adventurers arrived we waited for the marchent that has requested the escort to arrive.
The other 3 Adventurers were all G-Ranked and watching me for a while one of them asked
"Hey, aren't you that fellow who got scammed by some pretty girls?" He asked me laughing.
Well he wasn't really asking more like telling other about it without directly telling them about it.
After which one of the two Adventurers asked him about what happened and he told them about what had happened in the Adventures Guild.
I didn't really think It'd last more than a couple of days since it's not much of story but apparently it was still going on.
I just ignored him and went with Arthur and his party. In Arthur's party there were two swordsman, one axe-men, one archer, a girl with a dagger and Arthur with his war hammer.
I had of course prepared for the journey and had put my supplies in the item box but I soon found out that the merchant is going to provide us with food and water. We only needed sleeping bags. The only thing I didn't have was also the thing he would not prepare.
Of course I knew I would need a sleeping bag, it's just a decent sleeping bag costed 8 Silver and I had only left 10 Silver. I wasn't going to spend even that on sleeping bag
This job was of course better paying then the Slime subjugation which only gave 5 Bronze.

Here I'd be getting 4 silver. It took us till evening to reach the end of the plains.
In the plains the only monsters we found were Slimes, of course we also found Slime (Red) and Slime(Acid) as well as a high level Slime(Dark).
Which I helped kill with my new Skills.
The work of rear guard was quite good since I only need go aim and fire.
Of course I reached level 6 after that.
In the night I had the worst shift. Which was 2nd shift. So I had to wake up in middle of night to do it. But again I couldn't sleep well at all since I didn't have any sleeping bag.
In the 2nd shift of night watch there were Arthur, me and the dagger girl sho was called See. She told me her class was Thief that was why she also had this shift.
The reason was obvious, this was usually the time when monsters would attack and the time everyone will be sleepy.
Just as we were close to the end of our shift. See shouted "Everyone Up!! It's the lightning Bats. "
After she shouted, I looked where she was looking i also found a group of Bats. I immediately used Appraisal on the Bat that looked biggest and was in the centre, probably the leader.
{Lightning Bat (leader)
Level : 17
Skills : [Command] [Lightning Body] [Thunderous Eco]
Lightning Bat (leader) is the leader of Lightning Bats and leads a Colony of them. It is superior to Lighting Bats. It's [Thunderous Eco] has left many people stunned}
With Appraisal I can view quite a lot of Data about monsters. I had previously only used it on Slimes but those guys didn't have anything special. And at the time of Slime(Dark) we didn't get enough time to do anything.
Of course almost everyone woke up within minutes and we were waiting for Lightning Bats to come down a little. As they were flying high and trying to observe us.
After a couple of minutes I heard an extremely loud sound, it almost broke my eardrums. It was probably the leader's [Thunderous Eco] except me and the Thief See, everyone was in Stun status effect. And the Bats started attacking at that time.
Usually people had only seen 4-5 Lighting Bats around here but today the number was close to 20 and they also had a leader class with them. This situation could be considered extremely bad. Thus I instantly used Spacial Flux and then Fireball back to back. I couldn't use Spacial Flux back to back as it costed 3 times as much mana as Fireball and the other three basic element skills.
Mana Cost for Fireball was 50 while for Spacial Flux it was 150. But of course it was much more effective as well.
A single Spacial Flux pushed all the Colony of Bats far as well as damaged them.
{Killed a Level 4 Lighting Bat : 1200Exp (120Exp × 10) acquired]
{Killed a Level 5 Lighting Bat : 1500Exp (150Exp × 10) acquired]
{Killed a Level 3 Lighting Bat : 900Exp (90Exp × 10) acquired]
{Killed a Level 5 Lighting Bat : 1500Exp (150Exp × 10) acquired]
Others also recovered from stun and some started shooting arrows. Arthur hit his hammer on the incoming Lightning Bat (leader) and as it got a little far i used Fireball on it again and again until I got the notification.
{Killed (in corporation) a Level 17 Lightning Bat (leader) : 8500Exp (850Exp × 10) acquired}
{Level Up}
{Level Up}
I was now level 8, I had found out that at 10 I'll get new Class Skills so I was waiting for that now.
As soon as the leader died other Lightning Bats started retreating and we were good again. See who was not stunned when I had used Spacial Flux asked me what skill was that and I Just told her it was a Extra Skill I had. She did seem little doubtful but did not pursue the matter anymore.
The guy who was previously laughing at me about the guild incident looked like he had eaten something wrong. After all everyone saw how I helped Kill the Lightning Bat (leader). He was already shocked before when he found out that I'm a magic user but now he keep avoiding me as if I'd start shooting magic at him.
The rest of journey thought the forest started at the down and it was mostly easy. The only tough opponent was a Slow Wolf we found
{Slow Wolf
Level 12
Skills : [Lazy Aura] [Strong Jaw]
Slow wolves are extremely lazy and it's Lazy aura makes others lazy as well. If you overcome it's Lazy Aura it's extremely easy to fight]
Which is what happened, Arthur overcome the Lazy Aura due to him being quite a few levels above than that of Slow Wolf. I wasn't effected either but Arthur killed it in one full swing of the hammer on the head so I didn't need to participate.
We soon reached the city Tut. After going to the Adventures Guild and getting my reward I headed to find an inn. It was only for single silver and all meals included. Pretty cheap huh. The rooms were decent but once I ate the food I found out why it was cheap. It reminded me of my days at PG where bread was soggy and there was no vegetables in vegetable soup.
The forest we came from was called Giant's foot because in the map it looked kind of like a foot. It was quite large forest and best for Adventures as the outer parts were good for newbies but the deeper you go the more powerful monsters you'll find.
I thought it'd be best to go to the Adventures Guild tomorrow and get a request so that I can go in and Level up as well as earn some money.
