Lt. Col. Slane's Office, Amethyst Merchant Marketing Office.
1157, 26 Aug 2025
Yesterday afternoon, Lt. Col. Slane received reports that Count Terrek's eldest son took over Dourk Tavern access to Amethyst Merchant commodities, along with the equipment Old Man Dourk had bought.
Lt. Col. Slane immediately opened an old operation draft designed to gain access to Makai Royal City through Merry Gold Union, which would be launched if Amethyst Merchant commodities were well received by Kandez Region's residents.
In the operation draft, an option to devour Merry Gold Union became one of the priorities. But in the end, Lt. Col. Slane modified the operation draft. He didn't want to see Dourk Tavern dragged into the conflict between Amethyst Merchant and Merry Gold Union. Because even if he was committed to not involving Old Dourk, there was no guarantee Merry Gold Union would do the same.
Lt. Col. Slane even warned Old Man Dourk not to enter the special commodity market which was monopolized by the nobles. That way, even though Old Man Dourk only became a means of promotion for Amethyst Merchant, he could still live his days in peace.
An option to lure Lady Yuuri Arasmus in a gentler but time-consuming manner was adopted to replace the first option. However, shortly before the operation was launched, there were incidents in Berril Plain.
And now, when the operation was about to launch, who would have thought that Lady Yuuri Arasmus' son was cheerfully devouring Dourk Tavern.
Today, after lunch Lt. Col. Slane would go straight to Walluo City to launch a countermeasure for Osvik Terrek action. Along with a plot to manipulate Osvik Terrek as a bridge to reach Lady Yuuri Arasmus.
After all, even if Lady Yuuri did not give Osvik the power to represent the Merry Gold Union, intelligence showed that she was willing to do anything for the sake of her children.
Of course, there was also an option to destroy Osvik Terrek and start a war trade if Lt. Col. Slane thought that the idiot deserved it.

Lt. Col. Slane was about to turn to the wall clock, when the telephone on his desk rang and the small light above number 3 flashed brightly, a sign that it was a figure with access to the level of an office head.
Without wasting time, Lt. Col. Slane picked up the receiver and dialed the number 3.
"Slane here."
[Good afternoon Ser Slane, I am Rutim from West Gate Registration Office. A moment ago, there was an incident with a guest we identified as Ser Osvik, the eldest son of Count Terrek, the leader of Kandez Region.]
Lt. Col. Slane was stunned for a moment. Then, he cheerfully grinned from ear to ear, because the fish he was about to snare came to him voluntarily.
"Rutim, give me the details."

West Gate Registration Office, Magwurt City
1314, 26 Aug 2025
If Darek was a local who passed the espionage class given by IDG with brilliant grades, then Rutim was a local who passed the administration and management class with equally stunning grades.
It only took 10 days before Rutim became proficient at ten fingers typing. On earth this was a common achievement considering the standard syllabus for typing courses was 2 hours per day for 10 days in a row. However, Rutim was taking the typing class while she also had to take the language and math lesson from scratch.
Seeing Rutim's potential, the instructor from Amethyst Merchant then included her in the office administration and management program. And Rutim completed the program with a satisfactory score within 14 days. In which there was an archiving advanced level, computer applications for office administration, and human resource management.
Rutim was then appointed to head the West Gate Registration Office. After leading the West Gate Registration Office for a month, Rutim proved that she possessed the quality that Amethyst Merchant's higher-ups expected. The Head of West Gate Registration Office position was then given to her for the next four years.
Unfortunately, Amethyst Merchant did not find another local with potential like Rutim. Therefore the other three Registration Offices still had to be headed by a supervisor from Amethyst Merchant. Something that was not quite right considering that the Registration Office was a bureau under the authority of Tuscan Region. While Amethyst Merchant's personnel were very limited in number.

Lt. Col. Slane's entourage entered the West Gate Registration Office through the side door, and as soon as he got off the Humvee, Rutin rushed over to greet him.
"Good afternoon Ser Slane."
Lt. Col. Slane smiled at Rutim, who at first glance was no different from an office lady on earth. She wears high heels, a gray knee-high skirt, a white blouse, and a coat that matches her skirt. Meanwhile, her hair was tied in a ponytail.
"Are MCG personnel still checking the equipment Osvik brought?"
"Yes, Lieutenant William came here personally."
Lt. Col. Slane knew that Lt. William had an intimate relationship with Rutim. So he was not surprised if the highest MCG officer in Magwurt City took the time to come to the West Gate Registration Office.
With a casual tone Lt. Col. Slane said, "Take me to him."
Rutim immediately nodded and took Lt. Col. Slane into the multipurpose hall beside the main building.
---
With great care, Lt. Col. Slane looked at the solar power plant, water pump, and piping system, the ice cube maker, and the clock spread out on the floor, then turned his head to Lt. William.
"How badly was the damage?"
"Nothing's broken. The person who tried to re-assemble this solar panel seemed quite thorough in following the details of its arrangement. However, he doesn't understand the underlying principles. So he also doesn't fully grasp the safety procedure."
Lt. William pointed to a black grip-shaped mark on one of the distribution connectors before continuing.
"He seems to be touching it recklessly and exposed to electricity. Fortunately, the power is too low. So he will not suffer burns. Even though I am sure he will feel the horror of total paralysis which would make him unable to breathe for a few seconds."
Lt. Col. Slane nodded slightly. He understood the principle of 20 watts would not have any effect on the human body, while 200 watts would roast the same body until it was burnt inside and out.
Lt. Col. Slane then turned his attention to the clock that lay not far from his feet. "How about this clock?"
"Like I said, not broken and just running out of battery."
After pondering for a moment, Lt. Col. Slane said, "Make sure all of this equipment can be reinstalled tomorrow at Dourk Tavern, but in the report write that all this equipment is completely damaged and we have to send new equipment to Dourk Tavern."
"Understood."
Lt. William did not understand the reason behind Lt. Col. Slane's order. But he was in no mood to ask. Because right now there was something else bothering him.
"That Osvik bastard dares to touch Rutim, so can you do something?"
"Absolutely."
Lt. Col. Slane replied steadily, even though he didn't know the details of what happened.
As soon as he came out of the multipurpose hall with Kim Dong Ree, Lt. Col. Slane immediately approached Rutim who was waiting for him near the door with some of his bodyguards.
"Before we met Osvik, was there anything you didn't say on the phone?"
"U-ummm?"
Black clouds filled Rutim's face, before finally she took a deep breath and said.
"In the passport processing, Ser Osvik squeezed my butt."
Lt. Col. Slane immediately stopped walking and looked at Rutim's butt closely, and he had to admit that Rutim's butt did have a very provocative curve.
"I'll make sure Osvik pays for what he did."
"Thank you for your concern, Ser Slane. Rutim will never forget this kindness."
Rutim then gave a small but sincere bow.

Natural Alchemist
Will is poor. This is a fact he does not like about himself. Even back at his home village he was considered poor, but poor in the big city means something completely different than poor in a small village... It means ten hour days of hard manual labor with barely enough money to survive, and poor living conditions. He's sick of it, and desperate for change. Perhaps that was what made him decide to spend such a large portion of his savings on a mysterious potion from that beggar... That, and it seemed so special when he held it. But ever since that day, he's been having the strangest dreams... And the work is really starting to take a toll on his body... Author's Note: I wasn't sure which mature content warnings I should put on this novel, as I'm pretty much pantsing the story. I'm putting them there mostly as a percaution, but also to not limit myself as to where the story can go. This is my first time writing and publishing anything substantial. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
