After closing his laptop, Joy came over here with the rest of the group.

[ Oh, yeah. Everything's cool, we were just making sure that our guests were okay. ]

One of the soldiers responded to him.

[ I'm glad to hear that since it would be a real trouble if they were troubled. ] ( Joy )

Joy glared at everyone as he calmly said that to his teammates. Don't tell me that he saw everything that happened here?

[ N-no, we would never do that. Right? ]

While he had a forced smile on his face, another soldier looked straight into my face.

"Go along with this, or I will destroy you!" Was the kind of thing I could understand from the expression on his face.

I could just blurt out to everyone that they are being a bunch of idiots who don't know what they're doing. But that might slow down our trip…

The best option I could think of is to just ignore them a bit longer until we reach our destination.

[ I'm going to the lake, Chloe go check on the sisters. ] ( Hatsuko )

I could feel everyone's killing intent directed at me the moment I ignored them. I usually would have killed them without a single thought, but now that we are going back to the civilised city, that might bring up trouble.

We took a short break before setting off once again. This vehicle had enough conserved food for everyone so we didn't need to hunt any monster around.

[ This is really weird… ] ( Joy )

He reacted as he was looking at his own laptop.

[ What is weird? ] ( Llyod )

[ We have been travelling for more than 20 hours and we still haven't encountered any kind of monster. ] ( Joy )

Not encountering a monster might be a lucky thing, but in this kind of place it's definitely something to be worried about.

[ That must be our lucky day then! ] ( Soldier 1 )

One of the soldiers in the back happily said.

[ That's what I thought as well, but in the radar I can see that all of monsters are avoiding us… it's as if they don't want to get close to our FMTV. ] ( Joy )

[ Maybe they got scared because of the engine? ] ( Soldier 2 )

[ Did you already forget that most of our FMTVs were annihilated by them? ] ( Joy )

[ Oh, right… ] ( Soldier 2 )

They are right for worrying about this kind of situation, but there is a simple answer to this…

And that is me.

I've been scaring all of the monsters that are weaker than my aura. Of course, I don't want to cause trouble here, so I only directed the effects only to the monsters. But by doing this, it also increases the chances of attracting a monster which is almost as strong as me, or something even stronger.

The place inside here became quiet again for the following hours. Or that's what I was hoping for…

"Hatsuko! Hatsuko! Can you hear me?" ( Chloe )

"Master, I want belly rubs!" ( Shiro )

"Hey, stop ignoring me--"( Chloe )

"--Master!" ( Shiro ) "Hatsuko!" ( Chloe ) "Master!" ( Shiro ) "Hatsuko!" ( Chloe ) "Master!" ( Shiro ) "Hatsuko!" ( Chloe )

After managing to form a telepathy connection with both Shiro and Chloe, they both have been using it nonstop. Maybe I should just remove the effects of this skill, but I'm not sure if that's a good idea. We could use this, in case something comes up. Both Chloe and Shiro were staring at me intensely as they were both yelling in my mind.

"Hatsukooooo!" ( Chloe )

"Belly rubs!" ( Shiro )

And ever since they started, they don't seem to be stopping.

"Both of you, I didn't use telepathy so you can do things like this. I already explained that you have to use it only if something happens." ( Hatsuko )

Both of them looked down as I was saying that.

"We know, but still! I have nothing else to do besides talking to you like this." ( Chloe )

"Master is a meany." ( Shiro )

And that's how the first night began while travelling like this. Since our only job was to keep the roads clear from any monster or anything else, we had to travel during the night as well. All of the soldiers agreed on taking turns on who was gonna drive each hour.

[ You girls can sleep and leave the rest to us. ] ( Soldier 3 )

Saying stuff like that with a gross looking smile would put anyone in alarm, that's why I pretended to sleep the whole time. In the meantime, I told the girls to sleep and take as much rest as they could. And that's what they did. They came near me and leaned on each of my side in order to sleep.

[ That bastard sleeping without a care like that! ] ( Soldier 1 )

He clenched his teeth in anger as he complained about me.

[ While we risk our lives over here, he gets to be surrounded by pretty girls. ] ( Soldier 3 )

[ I'm so jealous, I could just beat up that worm and show those girls what a true man is like. That way, they may let me have my way with them. ] ( Soldier 2 )

[ Ooh, that's a great idea but what if they decide to kill you because of that? ] ( Soldier 3 )

Staying awake was the right decision for me. They think that we are asleep, but little did they know that I was fully awake and listening to every word they were saying. I don't care anymore if they can send us back to U.G.C, the moment they get closer, I won't hesitate to cut them down.

That's what I thought as I continued listening to them.

[ Are you guys going to take this seriously?! Can't you see our situation here? ] ( Joy )

Joy who was asleep, woke up with an angry tone in his voice while making sure we wouldn't wake up.

[ But, Joy! Aren't you jealous of that weakling being here without doing anything? ]

[ Are you serious? You barely know him! You better take this seriously. You are a soldier and you should be more disciplined than this. If you don't like it then go back and cry over to your mother's grave! ] ( Joy )

It became quiet again and the onyl thing that could be heard were the clenching sounds of someone's teeth and the vehicle's engine.

The first night travelling was finally over and all of the girls were finally awake. Since the last words that Joy said, until now, no one said a thing. Most of the soldiers seemed exhausted and really tired from spending most of their time awake. Well, I was awake the whole time as well but I wasn't in the same condition as them.

More than 25 hours had passed ever since we set off from the military base and we stil haven't arrived yet.

I've been wondering how long until we reach our destination?

[ How long until we reach there? ] ( Hatsuko )

I asked Joy since he was on his laptop.

[ Hm? Oh, right, we should be there in two hours. ] ( Joy )

He responded to me with an exhausted voice. I could even see eyebags on his face the moment he turned around.

[ … ] ( Hatsuko )

Well, since we will arrive in about two hours, I don't think they plan on resting near this place.

Well, soon enough I will be back in that city as well. I'm really curious to know what everyone has been up to.
