The way these zombies were moving was rather simple. As I had thought, the only special thing about them was their strength and the skill to spread their own kind. Another thing that I had to be wary of, was to never get touched by those disgusted things since I wasn't sure if the infection would affect me or not. That's why I created a barrier around me in case those things touched me.

Since I didn't want to bother with killing every single one of them, I created some swords and had them fly around and kill every zombie that was near them.

But how were those zombies created? Did Angels or Demons do this or were they affected by the disaster?

“Master.” ( Shiro )

As I was cutting down all of the zombies near me, I heard Shiro calling out to me directly into my mind.

“What is it?” ( Hatsuko )

I asked her.

“Chloe said she wants to come down there too.” ( Shiro )

“What? Didn't she hear what I said about the zombies?” ( Hatsuko )

“She said that she doesn't like watching” ( Shiro )

Why didn't she listen? She already knew what those zombies would do if they managed to restrain a female.

[ Hatsuko! ] ( Chloe )

From behind me I could hear Chloe's voice calling out to me, but when I turned around to see, Shiro and the sisters were with her as well.

What the hell are they thinking?!

[ Didn't I say to stay put until I cleared this up? ] ( Hatsuko )

I turned my back on everyone and slashed any attack that was coming towards us. The zombies were slowly surrounding us now that Chloe and the others had come down here.

Shiro and Chloe took one side, covering my back from any possible enemy and leaving in the centre of us, the sisters.

[ You did, but I couldn't just sit by and watch you fight every zombie. ] ( Chloe )

She complained after taking her own fighting position.

[ Do as you like… ] ( Hatsuko )

I already told her what would happen if she gets caught by those things, and I can't force her to stay back. But just in case, I placed a barrier around everyone in our group before the zombies got near.

[ Alright then, here I go!! ] ( Chloe )

She charged towards the zombies with a smirk on her face as if she wanted to show off her power.

“Shiro, too!” ( Shiro )

Shiro charged towards the zombies as well while changing the shape of her nails into a bigger size.

All of the zombies had already changed their target from the military base to all of the girls around here. A group of zombies were going towards Chloe while groaning and releasing all kinds of sounds. It was as if they were hit by an adrosporic effect on their rotten bodies. But Chloe managed to take them down easier than I had thought. She came close to their bodies and easily cut off their heads while dodging their hands or teeth. She was cutting down all of the zombies one after another as if she was picking up flowers in a field. Even the way she moved her daggers was fast and smooth at the same time. Her whole body looked like she was moving around the air like a feather while exterminating every zombie in her sight.

At that moment I realised the true form of an assassin who had the right skills of killing an enemy with ease, but that was for as long as they had a humanoid form.

Shiro also had a group of zombies that were trying to attack her, but she managed to cut them down before they could even get close to her. By waving her hands just like a cat, countless blades made out of air formed and killed the zombies. Shiro focused on cutting their limbs so that they couldn't get up again and reattach their own body parts.

Now what's left was Angela and Demonica who were by my side with their expressionless eyes who were looking at me. From what I know they still couldn't use any of their skills or powers so it was up to me to look after them.

I don't know why everyone decided to follow Chloe and come down here. Especially these sisters…

Maybe they didn't want to be left alone?

Since most of the zombies were being cleared up, I decided to stay with Angela and Demonica. But there would be some zombies who would notice the sisters who were by my side, then deciding to attack them. But their attempts of even getting near the sister were pointless since I would cut them down with a sword without even moving from here.

And as minutes passed by, all of the zombies were finally down.

[ I'm done here! ] ( Chloe )

She was coming towards me as she was saying that. But what surprised me a little was the fact that she had a smile on her face while having blood splattered everywhere on the ground.

“Shiro too!” ( Shiro )

She came near us as well after finishing off the last zombies.

[ See? There wasn't anything to worry about! ] ( Chloe )

She said with a big smile on her face while having a confident look.

While I was checking if Chloe and Shiro had any signs of injuries, I heard a lot of people coming towards us.

[ [ [ [ [ [ WOOOOOOOHHHH!!!! ] ] ] ] ]

[ THE MONSTERS ARE ALL DOWN!!! ]

They were all of the soldiers celebrating their victory without anyone injured in their own group. Everyone was shouting in joy while raising their own gun in the air.

[ Huh? Huh? Huh?! ] ( Chloe )

Chloe was a little confused by the sudden reaction of all the soldiers. Even Shiro had her tail standing up while hissing by the sudden noise.

[ SOLDIERS!!! GET IN ORDER! ]

But before they could get close to us, all of the soldiers lined up in two straight lines with a big gap that opened their way to the entrance of their base. The moment someone ordered all of the soldiers, it didn't even take a few seconds before they could line up that perfectly.

Between the lines, two soldiers were coming through while puffing their own chests. The way they were walking was perfectly in sync.

[ The Sakuru military base thanks you for helping out in taking down the zombies! If it's alright with you, we would like to thank you somehow! ]

A blonde looking guy said to us while slightly bowing to us together with the other soldier next to him.

[ Ah, it's no big deal! We just helped Hatsu-- ] ( Chloe )

[ --No can do! We barely held back all of those monsters. If it wasn't for you and that girl next to you, we wouldn't have survived. ]

He talked over Chloe as he got up and insisted on thanking them somehow. He insisted while keeping an intimidation and formal voice at the same time.

Also what does he mean by it was thanks to Shiro and Chloe? They did help me kill the zombies, but after I had exterminated a great number of them.

[ Can you please follow us this way? I can see that you have been travelling a lot. New clothes and fresh food would be the right thing for you, no? ]

He suggested after taking a look at everyone here.

[ Wah! N-new clothes!! ] ( Chloe )

She became excited the moment she heard about getting new clothes.

Well I can't argue with that since Chloe had ripped, old looking clothes, Shiro was only wearing my jacket which was enough to cover her private parts of her body, and the sisters had simple dresses that had become a little stained on our way here.

[ Then follow us this way. ]

He said as he led us the way inside the border of this base.
