《Black Prince: Cruel Magic》Chapter 28.0 - Becoming the Chief of the Locus Tribe

“Good. Then we should talk about how to deal with the purple—”
However, before Damon could finish Fabienne interrupted, “I think we should make the appointment of a new chief official. We can't fight the purple mouth tribe tiptoeing around this issue.”
Damon wanted to embrace Fabienne that instant. She was truly a smart and cunning woman; his affection wasn’t misplaced. But for now, he had to stay quiet.
Next Dominique spoke. “Yes, with his magic we should be able to deal with any problems.” The other hunters nodded as well. They had had enough death for the week.
Now the only person left with power was Gabrielle. Not only did Damon give her this position because of her intelligence and affability, but also because of her wish to make everyone happy. As such, in a situation where everyone agreed she’d go along with the consensus.
“Of course, I see no problem,” she said.
Fabienne turned to Damon, “Then we should proceed with the ceremony immediately.”
Damon followed her to the chief’s hut. There, she opened the trap door and took the metal blade used for the ceremonies. Next to the hut, Dominique started a fire in which they burned the blade for fifteen minutes. In this time every tribe member gathered around Damon. When the blade had cooled down, Fabienne went to Damon and made two cuts perpendicular to the scars which symbolized his belonging to the Lotus tribe.
After letting Fabienne spread the green cream on his new wound Damon sat on a wooden bench in front of the chief’s hut. The tribe’s people formed a semi circle around him and seemed to be waiting for something, yet Damon wasn't told what to do next. Thankfully, Fabienne came up to him and whispered in his ears. “You have to say the name of a person, they’ll come up to you, kneel and all you have to do is place your hand on their heads and repeat their names.”
Damon nodded and did as told. Luckily enough for him he had the memorization skill. This was a skill which teachers desperately needed back home. Especially for the first month. Anyhow, he called up the fifty-three members of the tribe and as such the ceremony ended. The tribe members dispersed, and the only people left were Fabienne, Gabrielle, and the newly appointed chief of the hunt Dominique. He called them into his hut and sat down on the chief’s pelt. When everyone was comfortably seated around him, he asked the crucial question. “How many tribes within a week’s travel?”
“Four,” answered Gabrielle. “There is the Carmen tribe to the east, the Gabon tribe to the south-east, the Vélanie tribe to the south, and the Picard tribe to the west.”
Damon nodded, “Do you know if the purple mouth has attacked any of them?”
Gabrielle shook her head. “We don’t know what’s going on in the other tribes.”
“Where do the purple mouth tribe live?”
“They live to the south-west.”
“Then we should go to the Picard’s, or the Vélanie tribe. Do you know which one is stronger?”
“I’d say the Vélanie tribe.”
Damon nodded, he now had to decide whom to bring. Although bringing every fighter might be beneficial in terms of subjugating the purple mouths and his own political security, the village may be attacked once again and there wouldn’t be anyone to go hunt beasts.
But to make things easier, they had a lot of dried meat from the previous monster wave so that shouldn’t be an issue. As such he could bring all the warriors with him. The purple mouths shouldn’t have too many troops to play with anymore anyhow.

As such, to preserve his power he decided on the following deployment, “I’ll bring all the hunters with me, Gabrielle, pick five archers amongst your elves, you’ll come with me. We’ll leave in four days. For now, let everyone rest.” Damon turned to Fabienne who had a displeased look, “I need you to look over the village, we can talk later.”
To end the meeting, he asked Gabrielle to draw a rough map of the surroundings so he could try and formulate which tribe to head to first. She used landmarks such as rocks, large trees, and large mud ponds to illustrate the terrain and distance. Finally, when he memorized it, he dismissed Gabrielle and Dominique. However, before Fabienne could escape, Damon grabbed her hand and pulled her into his new hut. “I’m sorry, I know you want to come, but I can’t trust anyone else with the village.”
“No one’s going to attack,” said Fabienne, “even though they’re a large clan losing fifteen people is a huge blow to them.”
Damon shook his head, “that’s not the only thing I’m afraid of.” He didn’t want to say it was to secure power, since it sounded too vain. So, he left it at that and kissed Fabienne.
Her lips were soft. They intertwined their tongues and their bodies in a passionate embrace. He removed her rough leather clothes and caressed her smooth elvish skin. It was so much softer and beautiful than humans. When he remembered his ex-girlfriends back on earth, he couldn’t help but to gag. Thinking back, his dreams of the past were probably represented when his soul got used to his new body. They continued to kiss for a few more minutes. Damon removed his clothes as well and placed her on the fur carpet. He started to finger her pussy and lick it until she let out a loud moan and came.
Fabienne got on his stomach and edged Damon’s cock. He couldn’t take it any longer and wrapped his arms around his waist and put his dick into her cunt, he grabbed her ass and started pull her in as she moved her hips. After being edged on for so long, he came inside her in a few seconds. But he didn’t stop, his cock was still hard, and they fucked until the sun rose.
This scene went on for the next three nights. But, on the fourth morning Damon turned to look into Fabienne’s eyes, “I have to leave.”
Her body still nuzzled on Damon’s chest seem to press tighter into his chest. “Don’t take your time, I’ll be waiting for you. When you come back let’s continue, I want to have your child.”
Damon's head started to twirl. He never planned to have children at twenty-three. But for this undeveloped world, humans had kids at sixteen, and from what he gathered from observation the new parents in the elvish community were about twenty-one.
But, who cared, Damon had come to love Fabienne and being the chief of a tribe was probably better than being a poor peasant. He could spend one hundred years with Fabienne, raise their child and leave when the time came for her to pass. He had made up his mind, “Yes, I promise to come back and give you a child.” Although they had been doing it all day for the past three, elves would need to fuck for a few weeks without end before life could be conceived. Such was the curse of long-lived races.
Damon exited his hut and made his way to the village gate. There, the eighth hunters and six archers had already gathered.

Damon walked to the front, “Today we’ll go to the Picard tribe. This is not to make war, but an alliance against the purple mouth tribe. If it succeeds, we’ll go to the Vélanie tribe and do the same.” Damon turned to Gabrielle, “lead the way.”
She nodded and they walked out of the village.
Damon’s group did their best to avoid the discreet salamanders and crocodiles. However, unlike those two beasts which didn’t actively search for prey, the giant frogs acted more like scavengers. Not only did Damon suspect they had much better vision than elves, but they were also quicker.
Two hours into their trip, one of them used these abilities to tail. If we let this keep up, they would no doubt attack us as soon as we neared a salamander or crocodile. As such we had to kill it. Damon thought. Two hours later when they found a little hill, he ordered the archers to release their arrows, and Damon used an earth spear when the frog jumped towards him.
The group continued their journey and arrived at the village within three days. Damon approached the village gates alone, leaving his troops a hundred metres behind to show his good will.
“Who goes there?” said the man on the dirt wall.
“I’m the chief from the Lotus tribe, we want to discuss the purple mouth tribe.”
When the man heard those last words, he called out to another wood elf who then sprinted away.
Damon guessed that they’d also been targeted by the tribe, however, if the purple mouth tribe only had one hundred people it shouldn’t be enough to attack two tribes at once. Damon guessed that they had expanded a good bit since the last time the Locus tribe received information about them.
A minute later a wood elf who stood just above five feet looked at Damon from the dirt wall.
“I am Clarice, the chief of the Picard tribe, who are you? You aren’t a wood elf, are you?”
Damon nodded and introduced himself, “Hello, I am Damon, the new chief of the Lotus tribe. I’ve come here because our chief and his two sons were killed by the purple mouth tribe. I joined their clan before the incident, I come from the north where the humans live, they chased me out, thankfully the Lotus tribe took me as one of their own. Since I can use magic, they decided to elect me as the new chief.”
The other chief’s eyes widened. “Magic? Can you show me?”
Damon nodded and made an earth spear emerge from the ground. The Picard’s hunters who went to see the commotion started to murmur. Dominique, Gabrielle, and the rest of the Lotus present couldn’t help but have a smug look on their faces.
Although the chief’s eyes went wide, he still didn’t seem convinced, “Then how did your chief die?”
Damon looked to the ground with a dejected expression, “It was an ambush. I, with the son of the chief and ten hunters went out to kill five of their men outside. But then another enemy group with five hunters, and archers killed the chief and his first son while our group was dealing with the others.”
“I’m sorry for you loss; however, we have also lost men recently. But if what you said is true, counting the ones who attacked us they should have lost twenty-five elves. They shouldn’t be able to attack anyone anymore, less they go extinct.”
Damon shook his head, “Remember I said I went out with one of the chief’s son and came back alive. There was another attack and this time they used beasts. Fifty of them to be precise.”
“Beasts how, and fifty, how is that possible?” He asked with great concern.
“When the battle ended a group of fifty salamanders, six crocodiles, and one giant frog attacked our village. In that fight we lost the last son of the Chief, and three other hunters. In fact, the hunters you see here are all that are left. I’m afraid the purple mouth clan has found a way to control beasts. They used men to assassinate our strongest fighters and then planned to use beasts to eliminate the rest of our tribe, however, what they did not count on was that I am a mage.”
“So, you want to attack them directly?” asked Clarice.
Damon nodded, “Although I don’t know why they’re doing this, I’m afraid that they’ll continue to send beasts our way until we’re all dead. Since you’ve also been attacked, they might be planning to do the same to you. Our only hope at survival is to deal with them directly.
Clarice turned to the side for a few minutes and the gates to the village opened. “Come in.”
Damon entered the village. It looked identical to the Lotus tribe village. Damon told his group to stay and talk to the locals while he went to the chief’s house.
“How any hunters and archers do you have?” Asked Damon right off the bat.
Clarice looked down, “I only have fifteen warriors left and twenty archers.”
“Do you know how the Valérie tribe is doing?”
Clarice looked down. “They’ve been wiped out.”
Damon couldn’t breathe, he didn’t expect this situation to happen. “How can they wipe out a tribe and still have the men to attack both of us?”
“One person escaped, and he said that after a few skirmishes, they asked to either join their tribe or be exterminated.”
Damon had made a mistake, he thought these were just minor skirmishes to gain more land due to a lack of prey, but now he realized a Genghis Khan had appeared.
“When were you attacked and was it the first time?” Damon asked.
“A month ago, and yes it was the first time.”
“Shit! No wonder they have too many men. They probably send out the conquered troops to do the dirty work, then use the newly conquered people to take over the next tribe.” No he wasn't a Genghis Khan but an discount MLM Genghis Khan.
Damon didn’t know what to do, should he go back to the Lotus tribe and defend it or directly attack the purple mouth tribe. If he went to defend his tribe, he’d lose more troops, while the purple mouth’s continued to expand. He could only do so much with a sword. But if he went to them directly, the tribes they’d subjugated might rebel. Plus, it didn’t seem like they would attack right after an attack. The hate would be too great, and the tribes would probably fight till the last men. If they wanted the weakened tribes to join them, they would probably wait a few months before inviting them in.
“Clarice, I need you to come help me attack the purple mouth. If we do the subjugated tribes would have no reason to continue their actions.”
Clarice nodded; with magic we might be able to do something. I’ll lend you four hunters and ten archers. That’s all I can do. I won’t go since I need to defend this city in case any other tribes think of something stupid.”
That’s true he had forgot that compared to the Lotus tribe which was located on the outskirts of the swamp. Other tribes might have much closer neighbours. Anyhow, with this contribution they should be enough to deal with the purple mouth tribe. Damon accepted the offer and thanked Clarice.
Clarice pointed out fifteen elves and told them to follow Damon. They set out at once and went towards the purple mouth tribe.

Hi there! I'm setting off on yet another adventure, come join me :3 Unusually for me, there's only one perspective this time, and it's quite a bit more action-oriented than I usually write. Don't worry, though: everything's still as character-driven as always, and I never get tired of writing dialogue. Just to acknowledge it up front: this story is heavily inspired by EVE Online and the many stories generated by that world. However, since this is a fantasy setting, not sci-fi, don't expect any real parallels. Chapter publish rate for this one will be whenever I write them, as with Epilogue. I don't expect to move as fast here though, since it's not for NaNo. The plan is chapters somewhere in the 4k-5k range, and hopefully frequently. The Last Science takes priority as always though. Special thanks to Reaver and Ace Arriande for pushing me to get this going, and to all my fellow writers whom I've stolen from been inspired by. You're all wonderful people and I love you Quick reminder: Patrons get to read ahead of what's published!
