《What the Green Bird Sees》March 11th - Gloaming

Gloaming (noun): twilight, dusk
The teddy bear has seen the sunset about a thousand times.
From the little windowsill, it would watch every evening as the sun dipped below the horizon and pulled a blanket of stars over its head. There were always a few precious heartbeats of time, where the sky was the loveliest mix of orange, yellow, turquoise, and purple.
Those moments reminded the teddy bear of its owner.
Having already long departed for her journey in college, the owner of the teddy bear hasn’t been home in years. However, the sight of her multi-hued clothing and her equally colorful personality never faded from the bear’s memory.
It missed her often.
And it would seem like the god of stuffed animals answered its wordless prayers tonight, for the next knock on the door belonged to none other than its dearest human.
She brought another human home.
Linked together hand in hand, the two of them practically tripped over each other’s feet as they joyfully stumbled into the room. They chatted for a while, ate some snacks for another, and they were completely absorbed in each other’s eyes.
The teddy bear felt sad. Its owner hasn’t even looked towards the windowsill.
Though an inanimate object could never feel, the lengthy years of her physical absence didn’t seem nearly as long as the few hours of her emotional distance. It knew it would never matter to her as much as another living being; in fact, it wasn’t even upset at her for ignoring its existence.
It only felt melancholic for her lost memories of childhood.

Art of Mortality
New Synopsis after chapter 56: Long long ago, there was a mortal who despised the gods and envied the immortals. Why do the mortals have to die when the gods wish them to? Why do worlds have to perish when the gods say so? Why do only immortals get to live forever, why not mortals like him? As his family, friends, and his loved one died, he lamented. He wailed, he cried. He cursed the immortals, blasphemed the gods, spat at the heavens. But he was just a mere mortal. His curses were pointless, his blasphemous words were useless, and his spits only returned back to fall on his face. At last, he thought, enough was enough, he would definitely do something about it. He decided that it was time for the multiverse to know what a mortal can do. He was the first mortal to cultivate. Eventually, after a long struggle, he killed the Immortals, enslaved the Gods, and shattered the heavens. He reshaped the multiverse and rewrote his fate. In the end, he reincarnated as he decided upon a grand scheme, a scheme to rule 'All and Always'. He came up with the concept of what is known today as 'Paragon'. And with this, all of reality, 'All and Always', was finally reforming, according to a Mortal's Wish. Synopsis (Old): In the vast and complex multiverse, what can a mortal accomplish? In the grand scheme of things, what can a mortal change? In truth, what is a mortal, and what is mortality? Being mortal is being ordinary, the same as being trash, or so says The World. "No, mortality is an art, and a true mortal is a grand artist. Being the root of all, a mortal can become anything.", says a young mortal boy. Meet Edward Alexander, a mortal boy walking the path against gods and immortals, fighting to the end to rewrite his destiny, and change the grand scheme of things. Can he really change the grand scheme of things? Or maybe he himself is the Grand Schemer? To know the answer, follow Edward Alexnder on his journey to demonstrate the Art of Mortality.*******

HIVE - LOCKED UP IN SPACE
Somewhere in the vast universe, an alternate reality to what we know.. which occurs in the year 3016 where Earth has already made contact with other sentient beings of space and has become much more technologically advanced. Meet the good-for-nothing anti-social NEET Jasper. Let's just say that he was born under an unlucky star, being wrongfully incarcerated in the galaxy's most infamous private maximum security prison, home to serial killers and many cut-throat criminals. Will Casper be able to prove his innocence and adapt to the cruel and oppressive prison system and rise up the food chain? --------- Alright. Before I start off, this is going to be my first fiction. It could be dropped anytime and there might be random hiatus inbound. This fiction is basically a first draft~ish.(?) So please pardon my two-dimensional characters or my shitty grammar or poor use of descriptive words in this fiction. Doing this purely for fun and it's going to stay that way. Let's take this step by step alright? [There isn't really a set in stone plot drafted so it might flop after a bunch of chapters lmao] Reviews with constructive criticism are appreciated, I will try my best to improve as we go along.

A Demon's Journey
Cole wasn’t expecting to be threatened with decapitation the morning before his high school graduation, but alas, The Tower was practically meant to train humans to slay demons like him. Even if his new reality was bleak, Cole didn’t intend to idly adhere to it. There were four tiers to clear The Tower, but could Cole trust his new companion to guide him through them? Could he really make it to the top with essentially everyone trying to kill him? Even if he could, would he be able to survive the world that awaited him beyond The Tower’s walls? Cover by Jack0fheart Certain tags won't fully manifest until later in the series, so that's something to keep in mind. This is my first novel, so go a little easy on me. Forced Development (What does it truly mean to live a fulfilling life?)
To get things started I would like to admit that this story does not bring much new to the table when it comes to the over-saturated Litrpg genre in terms of things like mechanics and power systems. Then what exactly am I trying to bring to the table with this work? A nice slow-paced novel about people maturing and growing older think of it as the re: zero or jobless reincarnation of Litrpgs. A story that tries to take into consideration how a worldwide system would affect the economics and culture of a world. A story that is much more character-focused than the typical heavy progression-focused novels this genre is known for. The RPG system, like any good power system, is there to actually explore the themes of the story and not just as a plot device for characters to get stronger. This is a story where we will see the growth of the Mc from being a baby to when he dies of old age. With plenty of heart-racing actions and intriguing plot developments along the way. Exploring themes like; What does it mean to improve at something and what does it mean to mature as a person? How does magic, the constant threat of monsters and people so much stronger than the average joe that they can destroy countries affect one's culture both on the micro and the macro scale? How people are affected by the culture in general? Generational trauma Nature vs Nurture Talent vs hard work What is morality, society, and people's opinions on both? What does it mean to be human and what does it mean to be alive in the context of a world with multiple sapient species vastly different from one another in basic biology? All these questions are going to be explored from multiple angles using the system as a catalyst for those discussions. So if any of does questions sound interesting to you what are you waiting for, I'm sure you are going to love this story. PS - Chapter come out every Friday at about the same time.
