The final meeting for the business deal went perfectly without a hitch.
He nearly burst from the sheer wave of joy and relief rushing like adrenaline through his veins, pulsing and pulsing as if the emotions replaced his heart.
A torrent of congratulations flooded his ears. The pretty coworker he had a crush on was winking at him, the manager of his division was nodding proudly, and even his biggest rival was glancing over with admiration, albeit with some jealousy.

He professionally acknowledged every person crowding around him, ever the flawless businessman he always presented himself to be.
She would’ve been overjoyed.
Hidden in the bathroom, away from the reckless champagne and the obnoxious hoots, he opened his wallet and revealed a photo of a young girl.
