《Odyssey Of Zero: Journey Ablaze》Episode 54: Coming Storm

Magi fell on top of Drima, crushing him beneath her before pulling herself to the side. She hacked and coughed loudly, as she tried to keep herself intact. Slowly approaching from the broken wall of the other room was none other than Dante, now with full knowledge of what had happened.
"'Lass, the young and noble smith of a small town with amazing powers who set out to save the world alongside the 'Goddess of Life'", Dante scoffed, "It was all such a haze...all the time. That jackass...Gladeon. You bastards are so unbelievably wicked to the core!", he yelled.
"He's so...god...", Drima grunted as he god up.
"So what? You dumb shit actually thought this through all the way or not? You surely knew how to bring back a force so destructive but not a moment did you think of how to control or contain it. Consequences.", Dante spread his arms wide.
"By all means, you have the right to be mad, I get it! But you have to realize, we did this to protect you!", Magi fully recovered.
"Protect me? Protect me?! You bitch went ahead and slaughtered my family, you murdered Ikarisa in front of me and leveled my home to the ground!"
"Then what about all the sacrifices we pulled off to raise you?! We risked our lives for it!", Drima yelled.
"The only thing you risked was the lives of others, just to satisfy your relentless ego, and the only sacrifices made were those of everything I had!"
"Kid, you have every single right to be mad, I get it. But-", Magi was interrupted.
"You don't get jackshit! You built me up just to watch me fall or something?! Everything...Cecilia...I...", Dante began to break down.
Drima looked and nodded at Magi, "Maybe..."
Magi nodded back as she approached Dante and trying to lay soft words on him, "I'm...sorry...", she said with her voice cracking in the process.
Dante looked Magi straight in the eyes, "I hate you.", he said with an upmost serious and menacing look.
No punching, no resistance, nothing came out of both sides. Dante simply slapped Magi's hand away from him before he walked by her. It was almost as if he knew that he could do no more damage to her than this...and he wanted her to hurt. He long viewed death as a luxury compared to life's suffering and though he lacked both the expressions and words to properly inflict said damage, he did it in his own way. He passed by Drima as well, going to the wall behind him while easily walking through the wreck that once was his lab. With utmost ease, it only took Dante but a casual punch to completely severe the reinforced lab wall to bits, including the rocks and dirt behind it, making a clean hole from the underground. He quickly climbed out and disappeared from the scene of the wreck. All that was now left behind was a Magi torn apart and a Drima left in awe.
"Kid was right...I would never think he would be able to control his powers to this decree by simply remembering. Muscle memory is the one thing I thought he'd surely retain, but still...no burst, no yelling, no crying. This is...fascinating and horrifying at once."
"He is the most powerful thing in existence, supposedly. Sorry for the lab, Drima.", Magi silently said with her back against Drima, refusing to show her face.
"Nuts and bolts is all this is. And it's really not my budget anyways, maid bots are already starting the cleanup process. I would be lying if I didn't say I'm pissed about the drag down for the next few days, but like the kid said, consequences. I knew what I signed up for when I did this to him back then and now."

Magi dropped seethed her sword and went towards the elevator, "I'm going. Gardard is deep within Victoria, so he shouldn't be long to Dirunon anyway."
"Uh, Magi. Are you alright? Your hate powers must have kicked in full throttle, no? If there's any problems, I can run you some antidotes.", Drima worryingly said.
"That's the problem Drima. He...hates me.", Magi held her tears in, "Luna left Lina up top to the guards for protection. She didn't want her anywhere near Dirunon when we know what's about to happen. Take her down when you can, the soldiers and guards around her are piss scared and are literally backed to a corner."
Drima was yet again left in awe, "I...sure.", he watched Magi go up the elevator, "When did you stop your journey to power...to care for some kid?", he whispered.
Coming up on the top floor, Magi slowly came out the elevator and started walking down the hallway, claymore behind her waist and breath rapidly increasing. She was way more broad in her way of expressing herself, but at that moment she had to endure hits that she had never done so before. It was as if her powers were eating away from her little by little. Yet questions kept appearing in her head. Why was it like this? Why did she feel in a way she shouldn't? Why did she give it all up, the quest for power and excitement? Before she could find the time to answer any of it, she quickly turned her head to the squeals and yelps of nearby soldiers.
"God on a stick, please don't come any closer! Y-You...you...you cute little girl!", the guard captain backed up to the corner of the wall with the rest of the battalion.
"But...mister Drima said that I should apologize! Admitting your mistakes is the first thing towards adulthood, and I need adulthood right now! Otherwise I'll never catch up to my big sis!", Lina approached the soldiers gently, only to have them pull back in terror.
"Oh god! Captain! Captain do something!"
"What do you want me to do against this?!"
"Oh come on, don't act like a wuss! Now...does anyone want to help me-", Lina cracked her fists.
All the soldiers simultaneously began screaming at the top of their lungs, morbidly afraid of her beginning to crack her fists.
"Save us all, please!"
"Oh god!"
Lina pulled a flower pot behind her back, "-Pant some flowers at the garden!", she scratched her head, "With all the fighting and the excitement we did quite the numbers on the flowers...so we should plant them back to fix our mistake! Oh, and don't worry, if you have any questions, I know a whole lot about gardening! We had a huge flower valley back home!"
"W-Wait, you want my battalion of high ranking royal guards to help you...with gardening?", the captain asked.
Lina jolted up, "Oh, would you rather train with me then? I've been getting a little bit sore as well!"
"No! Please don't kill us all, we have families!", the soldiers yelled.
"Gardening! It's gardening time men! To the royal garden, now!", the captain yelled.
Magi momentarily chuckled as she paused and looked at the tiny Lina moving to the front and cutely leading the way for the soldiers towards the royal garden.
"There's simply no end to the wonders of this world.", she chuckled, "I can never see it all."

A beep echoed in Magi's ear, before Drima's voice started to be transmitted through it, breaking her train of thought.
"Magi? Is this working fine?"
"Yeah, I can hear you clearly. How are you doing this, I thought most of everything was destroyed?"
"Maid bots work fast. I managed to rebuild the command center at least. And with it, I've got some good news and some bad news. Which one do you want first?"
"Bad."
"Oh, ok. Bit of a downer today. Let me see...yeah. I'll put it simply. Dante is god damn broken in every aspect. And I mean it. He is extremely dangerous. I managed to take some biometrics while he was out and listen to the A.I.'s report: 'Subject contains irregular amounts of Obsulyte within it's core. Said substance is questioned as pure Obsulyte source as it emits similar aspects but can be registered as entirely new, as formal measurement method failed to give correct results.'"
"Tell me something new. I already knew what I was going after."
"But that's just the words on paper. You don't have access to the numbers right now since the system is a temporary backup, but I have them. Magi...his power isn't limited to just large bursts anymore. It amplifies everything he does with ease and further gives him some sort of permanent increase to innate abilities. He's a Diru, but compared to normal data on them, his strength is substantially higher and so is his mobility. Additionally...good god. Everyone else might not even be able to make a dent on him. He is bulletproof."
"He, what?!", Magi said in surprise.
"His powers are like spreading poison that doesn't kill. It's all over his body and his skin will hypothetically be able to take on any form of heavy artillery ammunition and survive any form of explosion. Not even the Garuda SSS which is a new and illegal L.A.B. Obsulyte based, supersonic prototype sniper will make a scratch. For full context, the bullets of that weapon are also Obsulyte infused and you bet that it's been tested on the field. Of space. The target practice happened with a satellite send in space...and it's bullets destroyed it from Y axis absolute zero and kept going into the emptiness of space.", Drima flipped through Dante's biometrics.
"This is...absolutely insane. How can someone so...mortal, have something like this?! Drima, I need to inform the others, I had no idea he would escalate his power level so unreasonably high. We might be in more danger than before. Maybe we can...do damage from inside to neutralize him?"
"Already ran that in and it is a possibility, but what's on the cover of the book is also on the inside on this one. Hell, feed him Obsulyte grenades or dark matter nukes, his insides are as durable as on the outside. And while you could poison him before...yeah. There's more awkwardness to this hellish mix. I managed to collect some form of blood while he was dormant and it appears he hasn't got white blood cells. His powers are now his immune system.", Drima flipped through L.A.B.'s prototype reports.
"So I should give up any chance of poison working again?"
"Precisely. I would try to come up with a cocktail of all available harmful nerve agents or straight up heavy classified toxic gasses but you saw what his powers can do outside, so I doubt any microorganism will be able to make a dent as well.", Drima flipped through a black market website, looking for illegal chemicals.
"Ok, this is bullshit, I thought I was fighting an almighty, world ending being, not god damn Sait*ma on steroids!", Magi angrily said.
"Who is that?"
"I dunno, the kids love him though. Look, your good news better be anything close to redeeming or I'm calling this off!"
Drima chuckled, "Genius should have me in the dictionary. We can definitely have a probable chance of winning!"
"A definite chance at a probable win. You go, 'genius'.", Magi said with annoyance in her voice.
"But I'm serious. There's a total of 3 candidates for taking him on. One, obviously, is Yuno. Whatever Dante has, Yuno shares, him being his Guardian. That alone gives us a solid chance."
"I knew that but...who are the other two?"
"You'll be surprised. Hikari is one of them."
"What? Hikari can swallow grenades for breakfast as well now?"
"Apparently...she could probably do so? I have an Obsulyte monitor on the elevator that records who comes down to my lab for safety reasons. I have no idea why, but Hikari seems to share some form of same rated energy. Very, very faint, but the computer matched that feint aura to 100% of what the biometrics report was."
"Your biometrics are as suspicious as you. I thought it was just characteristics?", Magi folded her arms.
"I mean...it's a measurement of some sort. I call it biometrics but you can go with analysis, status, vitals or something."
"Whatever. Hikari's feint signal is not any hope to rely on anyway. Interesting, but don't wait for me to lay on it."
"I didn't expect you to rely on her. I expect you to rely on yourself."
"Excuse me?"
"I'm serious. Magi, your Obsulyte signature is compromised with a similar signature to Dante's. And my solid explanation is that you take your opponent's hate to use it as a battery to fight. That in itself has an upper capacity since there's only so many opponents you can fight and only so much hate, spite and vengeance someone can generate. But apparently Dante's powers latched onto you when you took his hate!"
"So I have his powers now? I can swallow grenades for breakfast?"
"For the love of- enough with Grenade O's! I don't know how it may work or how you're going use it, but you have it. Do with it what you will. His powers seem to be like water and electricity, super conductive and latch on anything around it...but..."
"Shit...", Magi frowned, "Non compatible host's...like Viola..."
"No need to worry just yet. Like I said, there's Hikari and Yuno. This is incredibly new and we don't know much of anything, so we can only speculate. For now, we have to hurry to Dirunon. Even if you wanted to call it off, there's no way to beat around the bush. You will have to face him. Now hurry."
"Right. And...don't forget to pick up Lina later."
"Got it...where exactly is she?"
"Gardening with a battalion of Gardard's finest soldiers and their captain."
"She what?", Drima said in surprise.
"Sorry Drima, I've gotta go.", Magi inhaled and a exhaled a long breath, "Alright. Let's go."
Magi tore parts of her armor apart, crushing it with the mere power of her palms, having already stored an immense amount of power from Dante's snap after his awakening. Only a few key parts of her armor remained intact, removing weight off her shoulders and allowing her to gain much more mobility than what she had before. She swiftly took off the palace's main gates and started to quickly make her way towards the place where her siege had succeeded, following the same path behind Dante. It wasn't long left before she would face her actions inevitability. She knew that as well as everyone else who were anxiously waiting at the ruined palace of Dirunon having much more time than needed to prepare themselves. Even then, they knew that overpreparing might prove to be insufficient.
"God...", Yuno frowned.
"You ok Yuno?", Terna asked.
"I am...but like I expected, Dante recovered his memories and let his guard down. I saw...everything.", Yuno turned to face the spot where Cecilia's life was brought to an end.
"Was it really that bad?", Anya worryingly asked.
"Worse than you think. And don't expect me to go into detail about it. That's his call...even then, the memories are strange as they are horrific. There's parts where he really shouldn't be able to look in to remember faces and words, but he does. It's weird..."
"I think I know what you mean. Dante was able to do something with his brother and sister. They had this weird thing where they could like...communicate at a distance, much like phones. But it goes a step deeper than that, his little sister told me that they could see and hear whatever the other did, almost like an intercom call."
"So they had sight sharing? Interesting but at the wrong time, it could screw them over completely.", Tiki folded her arms, "I know I've seen things I wouldn't pass onto others."
"No way it fully worked for them all. Sight sharing only worked with Dante's sister apparently. But...why?"
Enemy stepped in, "Simple. Dante always had his guard up, so much like you not being able to view his memories, everyone else couldn't do it either. And his big brother...well, he was blocked off entirely."
"Why would he block off family?", Luna asked.
"Simple, they despised each other. Hell, I dunno what happened, but it was way too well known around here that those two did not see eye to eye. Dante is a disgusting being after all, there were many times that I sensed his urge to kill his own brother. And you made 'that' your friend.", Enemy scoffed.
"Hey, watch it!", Anya stepped in front of Enemy, "Hikari agreed to let you help fight, not smack talk."
Enemy stepped an inch off Anya's muzzle, "If your pea sized furry brain hasn't realized it, I'm doing this for Hikari, not you. Last thing I want is for her stupid ass to kill herself attempting to fight this monstrosity and dragging me with her. I'll say what I want, when I want it, got it? For all I care, you're in my immediate command. So stop being a crying, little, literal bitch of a dog and step back, before I decide to back out and watch you go six feet under."
Anya backed off, "You say all this big talk, but in my eyes, you're a bigger, more selfish monster than he could ever come close to being."
Enemy folded her arms, "Then why is it him we're fighting?"
Anya stopped for a moment, angrily looking at Enemy. She knew that at the moment she was right, but was never about to admit it. She clenched her fist and grit her teeth, only for her to remain stationary, before turning around and walking away.
"I should've never left that day. Maybe then I could show you something different about him.", Anya walked away.
Enemy stared at Anya with her typical aggressive look and whispered, "Show me what I've already seen?", she didn't move as well, losing herself in her train of thought.
"Oi, dog! Where are you going?", Tiki yelled.
"I'm going for walk."
"What the hell do you mean 'going for a walk'?! The meatbag will arrive any minute now! You're looking to get killed or something?!"
"At least I won't have to look at that prick's face.", Anya pointed her thumb over the shoulder at Enemy.
Tiki stepped forward, "Why don't they ever discipline-", she was stopped by Yuno.
"Nah...give her some space. Remember the fact that she was the closest out of everyone here to Dante. It's only natural after...all this.", Yuno grabbed Tiki's hand and pulled back.
"Tsk. I just don't want to have to worry about an additional burden!", Tiki gave in, in her own way.
"Worrying shows a sense of attachment. Perhaps you grew to view her as a friend than an ally?", Luna asked.
"Shut up you walking bucket head! Go set up a timer or something to utilize that dumb ass of yours!", Tiki angrily replied.
"You guys are legitimately the weirdest group Hikari could ever strive to find in this world.", Enemy sighed.
"At least you look a little more relaxed now! That's great!", Terna cheered everyone on.
"I am relaxed all the time. It releases stress and prepares the muscles for a steady hold of a blade. If you spend just a little more time studying the songs of old heroes' lore than singing the verses for some no-life, impudent, perverted ugly bastards, you'd probably know a bit more too. I'm off to the throne room. I need some...space.", Enemy took a weird look around.
"How rude.", Yuno sighed, "She brands herself as Enemy but has lost the plot of that word..."
"It's...fine. I know I can't flip mountains or draw a sword, but I'll get used to all this. Eventually anyway...", Terna smiled.
Tiki let go of her anger, "I agree with Enemy on a certain extend...but not entirely."
"Oh that's new.", Yuno chuckled.
"Relax, midget dragon. She's still way too early in to be actually useful. Just enchant and keep us alive. We will clean up the mess for you.", Tiki jumped up the cracked gate's wall, "Remember to not die and don't take long to get into position. If the plan doesn't work, I'll kill you. Looking at you, diva."
Tiki took shelter underneath some shade from the partially destroyed roof of the palace. Down bellow, Terna lowered her head in front of Luna and Yuno, in reaction to Tiki's harsh words.
"Terna you know that Tiki is-", Yuno was interrupted.
"Yes! A step closer to becoming a song!", Terna laughed.
"A what?", Luna asked.
"For Tiki to admit it, I'm absolutely improving! One day, I too can be added to a legendary song that passes through the ages!"
"You're sure excited about some....interesting commends from her.", Yuno backed away.
"This is exactly what I wish for Yuno. If I become a song that everyone can remember and be motivated in the future, just something they can look up to, I'll be the happiest ever! And any positivity from those who have experienced legends is more than welcomed!"
"I feel like this is specific to Tiki, but...whatever floats your boat I guess?", Yuno passed through the destroyed gates, "I'm gonna go take position. You guys can sort yourselves out and get ready."
Terna turned to Luna, "Luna, what do ya say? Wanna pair up while I enchant you?!"
Luna nodded, "Our collaborative effort should raise a challenge for our target."
"Cool! Let's hide and get ready!"
While the final two went to prepare for their ambush against Dante, he himself landed to the central plaza of Dirunon, his landing echoing a signal of readiness to his friends to the palace above. He quickly began making his way up, avoiding pausing to take in the destruction of his surroundings, knowing full well where to head towards and that stopping to gaze to the destruction would only take precious time away from whatever he had left. He dashed quickly towards the front of the one area he knew he would never be able to avert his eyes from no matter how hard he tried. A hollow and empty black garden with a destroyed fountain and burned flora was before him, and a small river of spring water formed under the fountain's cracks. Around him the benches he once hopped on alongside the few people close to him barely held on their own weight from the support the fire had taken away. His eye's slowly moving up his eyes to the little spring water's river flow, he gazed upon the building closest to it. Again, nothing our of the ordinary. A half destroyed house with it's characteristics burned away by the flames and time. But to him, it was surely something with looking at.
"Gone...", he muttered to himself.
It was almost as if he could see the projection of his image's memories right before him, playing the scene of a time much better than the one he was at. He forced his look away as he kept dashing through the debris, further inside the city. He quickly came to a fork in the main road that he knew exactly where both ends would lead. Right through the park and Viola's restaurant, direct road to the royal place in front of the military grounds in the garden. Left, the road to more uninterrupted nature, that would gradually get thicker, before ending up to where the one who gave him everything she ever had and wanted to give more than even her life rested. He pondered for a moment in front of the two roads, before finally deciding to make his move. Left towards the temple. He passed to what he thought would be the same flower thick path, only to be met by the devastating endless black that took the flowers life away. With nothing to look back into but make his way to the same place he fought his first powerful being. More destroyed than he remembered leaving it behind like, he did not know why he chose that way. Something just kept drawing him more and more near that one place. He entered through the single wooden pole that was left from the gates. Going forward every single building inside was reduced to ashes but the sturdiest one, being the main one at the center, that still upheld some form of material to show. He made his way above it all to go a small shrine he knew was built directly behind it, hoping to still find it standing. What he instead came across, was a familiar face that he hoped would never leave to see him this way.
"Hmm?", Anya slowly turned around, "Hm!", she jolted at the sight of Dante.
Dante dropped down from the wreck, "Anya...what are you doing here?"
Anya didn't say a word rather than slowly move out of the way, slowly revealing what she was gazing upon. The shrine he thought would still be standing was indeed wrecked, but no reaction came out of him, had he gotten used to expecting for the worse. However, as he slowly moved forward, he started realizing more and more why he was there. Despite scrambling his memories as hard as he could, he couldn't understand why he was seeing what he was seeing. A plaque from of random origin was pinned behind a bump of dirt in the ground. And on it were the letters that forced him to hold his breath. The plaque wrote but two words in a messy manner. "Cecilia Elisia". He stood before the grave not realizing how it got to where it was. He could then feel the sweat rolling down his face, almost as if he had gotten sick to the core. Anya slowly approached behind him, still keeping him at a distance.
"Dante? Are you...alright?", Anya softly asked.
"Did you...know about this? Not the city, I now know about that too. But...this?"
"No. I stumbled upon it. The temple was the first thing I could think of visiting. You know...it was our place."
"She didn't deserve to die by the way. Despite everything I've been through...only now do I realize what I would have truly had in store had it not been for her."
"You cannot deny that Cecilia always went hard on you though. Dante, I'm going to be honest, when you weren't serious you were always...sad. You know that she wasn't perfect, but that she tried her best."
"I was never sad. I was just expelling weaknesses. As something with this 'curse' should do."
"You cannot deny the obvious for long, you know.", Anya tried to approach Dante.
Dante backed away, "I never did ask you that question I always wanted. Why did you approach me? Then and now, that is. And why did you stay after realizing what was behind it all?"
"Because I quickly realized what was behind it all. We all think of something of ourselves, but the way others think of it will always be different. I, for one, knew that aside from the monstrous power behind it all and the serious, poker faced, child soldier, it was...well, you. And to be completely honest, I can see you still."
"'Child soldier'. I was dragged into this but refused to get out of it when I had multiple chances to do so...wonder why. And another thing to wonder is exactly what you saw and see now. I promise you, there's way more to it down bellow. And, of course, not in a good way. How many people relied on me and how many more I betrayed. My sister was nearly killed for being around me. My Silverlances were completely wiped out and my home was destroyed out of my impotence."
"Hardly an impotence. Yuno told us some of the important details, while leaving very key ones out. Of course, he did it to let us help you, but he really wouldn't give up anything critical. We know how Kagh manipulated the Silverlance's trust and how he killed them. Not you. And as far as reliance goes, that's on everyone else. I mean, for crying out loud, you essentially let the ministry of defense and one of the most universally feared and powerful military forces in the world to a 12 year old child. That's on them. I'm by no means underestimating your skills, Cecilia trained you, but to lead on something like this you lacked mandatory experience."
"Still, for Kagh to be right only to be wiped off a decade after...", Dante scoffed, "Ironic. His experience led him to ruin everything, run away and then become some form of Sentinel. I'd also be lying that, looking back, I didn't enjoy slaughtering him and his son in Eterna city. Morals would always look down on revenge to cloud how absolutely fantastic it feels accomplishing it. Riko turned my brother against him so I turned his insides out and Kagh turned my own men against me, killing them all at one grand explosion by the marina, so I killed him in one slash and nothing more. Well, "me", Mellistar did my "dirty work" but I can't both understand why he was so riled up compared to me and why I hardly haven't heard from him in a long while. Perhaps he's gone? Beats me."
Anya paused, "You're kind of...out of it? Those aren't exactly "Dante" words you know."
Dante sighed, "Anya, do yourself a favor and don't bullshit yourself with my mental state deteriorating due to my abilities. Well...partially. I'm sick of standing upright to this shit and acting as if the moral high ground is something that I must always stand on to prove something to someone out there. I took revenge and I enjoyed it. It's natural. Eye for an eye doesn't make the world go blind, it just makes it a better place by removing the one who made the first aggression. Granted, a murderer such as myself doesn't have much to say on the matter, since life taking is trivialized in the world we live in. Wars and mindless aggression left and right demand sacrifice, and those above wish for it. If I were to brag momentarily, the only thing I do right compared to other morons throughout the pages of legends is that I aim for the root and head of the problem. Those standing in my way are just obstacles."
"You...are right. Partially. I can understand exactly how you feel, since I could count my uprising against my dad my revenge, but nowhere near was it close to yours. But I realized something very quickly that day. The more time I spend seeking that revenge, it ate away on me. I mean, it's what everyone would tell you, but it's honestly true. I'm just glad it was over now. I can't imagine what others who spend years on it must feel like.", Anya exhaled.
"They feel like shit, obviously. Someone goes ahead and kills your entire family, destroys your hometown and degrades you by locking things you rightfully own away. Come on, you're gonna tell me to let go? Piss off. You say that it will eat you away, while the only thing ignoring it would do is the same, while letting it go would only continue the cycle, as they who did it will do it to someone else again. I'm just the guy who puts an end to the cycle. That's what the feared and looked down upon "vengeance" is. A means to an end. But in the end, I'll be afraid to put an end to it...because I don't know what will be after it. What a sacrifice."
"You know, you could just let us help you to it...that way you can carry us with you."
"No way. That is my business. And you'll not interfere."
"And exactly what is that business? Do you even know what that vengeance is for? I mean, Kagh and Riko is dead...and everyone in your family is-", Anya corrected herself before even speaking out the word, "Missing."
"I guess I'm going for the head.", Dante shrugged, "Both Makaro and Kikaro will get their asses kicked from me. They're supposedly the ones behind it all, no? Those who give the orders are to be pronounced dead by their last scream."
"I would say you're doing crazy talk but...given it's you...", Anya shrugged.
"Everyone keeps slapping the same thing into my head. 'Strongest being across every world that can easily end worlds by just looking at them', or something along those lines. By proxy, Makaro and Kikaro are just some half assed ants compared to that, no?"
"And we can help you along the way. I know that you can easily take them on and kill them both in one fell swoop, but that doesn't mean you have to force yourself to do so."
"So what? Drag you down with me? My big sister left us when she was just 10 and my other siblings are dead because I brought it upon them and, if you heard about her, Viola was corrupted after saving my sister from said corruption and probably ended up dying as well. And Cecilia...that one I just didn't bother to do passively.", Dante seemed to lower his voice.
"What do you mean passively? She died on that day, no?"
"She did...by me. I found Cecilia bleeding in the corner of the palace walls. I...killed her. I was the one who forced her underground.", Dante looked at his mothers' grave.
Anya lowered her ears and tail at the hearing of the truth behind the critical information that Yuno tried to seal away from her.
"And even then...I don't know where the grave before me came to be."
Behind him, Dante heard a soft sigh as he did not even bother to turn his head, knowing full well who it was and being obviously irritated and annoyed by their presence. Magi pulled her hands off the ground and away from her weapon, slowly approaching Dante without the slightest bit of hostility.
"You...you buried her yourself, Dante.", Magi said.
Anya turned and looked at Dante, "Wait, what?"
"And you know that how?", Dante angrily said.
"I...I was watching, with Gladeon. After his fight that fatally injured Cecilia he completely changed, breaking out his controlled state. I've never seen him like that. He was afraid to approach, not the powerful being named Dante, but a simple, broken kid. It was hours that you were just...moving. Nothing else."
Dante grabbed his sword, "You know...back at the lab, I did not let you live. I beat the shit out of you and hoped to leave you for dead, just like you sick shits did to Cecilia. To be honest, I dunno why I didn't. And to be even more honest, I thought that your piss drunk, completely mush brain would realize that it wasn't a blessing, but an obvious warning. And now...", Dante lift the seethe above his head, "I'll show exactly what you've all been afraid of for so long. Because I knew this all along...I just couldn't remember."
Dante tightened the grip on the sword's handle, as Anya backed away in fear and Magi prepared to fight. As a red flash appeared above head, Dante drew his sword, discharging the red lighting around him and tearing the ground around him apart. The echo of the sword being drawn was heart up all the way to the palace, signifying the beginning of the fight, with everyone moving to the sounds calling. Now standing before them was not their friend, but their momentary biggest threat they would ever have the displeasure of facing. Dante threw away the seethe, it disappearing into the ether, and stood with an over the shoulder look before Anya and Magi.
"Hmm.", Dante snapped his fingers, dispelling lighting energy from them, "Exactly what they were all afraid of me for. Me.", he turned around to face Anya and Magi, pointing his giant sword at them, "And now that it ain't suppressed anymore, I'd like to see you struggle."
Anya revved up her chainsaw blade, "Big guy, please...calm down a little.", she fearfully looked at Dante.
"So the mighty have fallen, huh?", Dante scoffed, "After all that was heard and all that was said, you side against me to make my closure procrastinate itself? Seriously, you think you will do a thing? Just some dumb dog with a fancy lumberjack tool."
"You have to realize that we care for you like you do for us! You're just like that moron, Enemy! Your actions speak against your words! I know you care! And unlike her...god dammit, I love you, Dante! You're like family and that ain't changing! You're like a little brother to me!", Anya poured her heart out.
Dante seemed to relax his rage, lowering his sword as the opposing side did the same. The expression on his face seemed to sadden at the hearing of those words.
"I can't...say otherwise. To say I wouldn't view you the same way...that's why...", Dante exhaled, "I see you as my big brother."
"Watch it!", Magi yelled at the top of her lungs.
Dante instantly dashed towards Anya, finding a clear opening since she had lowered her guard. He took a swing, only to be barely blocked by Magi, who was knocked out of stance, while Anya was sent flying backwards from being at the front of the collision.
"God...damn!", Magi grunted, "This is so bad...I'm overcharged and he's still-!", she recovered.
"When will you realize to heed warnings not given by you?!", Dante walked up at Magi, "Just-", he smacked Magi's blade, her blocking the hit, "back-", he got blocked again, "off!"
"Ghk!", Magi gasped in her struggle.
The last hit from Dante's sword against Magi send her sword flying right next to Anya, who had recovered, only to watch in terror of her friend's abilities. Dante then pinned his own sword to the ground, using his elbow to bash Magi in the stomach, forcing her on her knees. He swiped his knuckles across her face, jumping to the side and widening his stance and sending Magi at a daze.
"Checkmate.", Dante tightened his fist.
Gatherings a powerful surge of energy around his fist, he thrusted forward with an expert technique, landing the punch directly on Magi's face and dispelling along with it, all that energy. A brief pause came to the air around them, before the energy blasted off all at once, sending Magi flying high up in the air and throwing bricks and dust around the away, forming a massive cloud of smog in the nearby air. The ground torn apart shook as the terror had risen up to an all new high. Dante then simply picked up his sword, dusting it off and moving towards Anya. Anya then grabbed both Magi's sword and her chainsaw sword, pushing her fear away and taking a stance against him.
"I just showcased you one of the best scenarios you could come across. You deadass won't run away?", Dante looked at Anya while holding his sword in front of him with one hand and pushing the end of the edge's flat side with the other, constantly discharging red lighting from it.
"I'm facing Dante right now. Not a monster. So shall we get this training session going?", Anya completely turned it around, smugging at Dante.
"Seriously?", Dante took a weird look at Anya, "Whatever. I'll knock you out like the other one. Well...kind of.", he rolled his eyes, preparing to take everyone on.
Clouds of rain seemed to be forming on the horizon, as the real fight was about to come crashing down on every single one of them. It was no joke and it was not a game. This time, they were facing a true force of absolute destruction.
