《Odyssey Of Zero: Journey Ablaze》Episode 1: Where Fates Cross Paths

After all events inside his nightmare that happend last night, Lass groaned as he came back to his senses, ,no jolting, no screaming despite all the pain and the fear he felt and the blood and death he saw, he kept on calmly getting up after every morining, nightmares felt nothing to him at this point, after all he was used to it by now.
"Gnn...ah!”, he took a long breath as he stretched, “Nightmare after nightmare. Whatever, it’s another day, One comes and another one goes.", he picked up the amulet from the desk. "Damn old man, really had to take the risk didn't you?"
He gazed at the amulet his father had bestowed upon him, always wearing it after a long nights rest. And despite his usual look at the old looking amulet, this time it took on the frown of a sorrow face. It had only been but a month that he had been ambushed with his father during a supply run on the way to a nearby town, his father was fatally wounded in the process, part of him trying to remember the dream, he desperately tried to make a connection between it and his father but as usual there was no avail, he just wanted to understand why it all kept happening over and over in what felt like an endless cycle. The dream that haunted him the night prior was nothing unusual to him, but the dream itself he knew, it carried a meaning different than all the other dreams that he had before, non the less, at this point he exactly knew how to separate dreams from reality and that not all dreams would've been guiding or meaningful, rather than some being the usual torment he was forced to experience, with no meaning to them and no explanation. He sat down to eat what little he had made for himself as a breakfast, gazing at the morning view of a mountain nearby.
"Breakfast is the same, the morning is the same, even that boring ass mountain." He sighed gaezing towards the window. "All the same. At least the story of the old man makes the view of that mountain somewhat interesting."
It has been told that on that mountain sprouted an unbelievable story, where the first Champion fought the gods, long time ago the world was split in two, the skies belonged to the gods and was called Kaima The Gods Domain. On another hand the land was soulless, emptiness that stretched as far as the eye could see, it was called Riza The Land Of Nothingness.
One day one of the 3 gods betrayed her brothers, Ikarisa broke their oath and gave unbelievable vast of life to Riza, as the balance was required she began by making humans that could harness and maintain the lands, but she also created monsters to destroy and plunder, Ikarisa though had a weakness towards humans, they say that gods have no feelings, no emotions, she had indeed fallen for human named Dante and Dante being among the first creatures to come and walk upon this world was quick to discover the existence of Ikarisa, to where they both fell for each other. And as their love continued, the other two brothers Makaro The Judgmental and Kikaro The Blood Seeker found out their sisters betrayal, they sealed Ikarisa away within Riza in a cage that neutralized her powers, but in doing so there where a ton of side effects, having control stripped away from her, humans gained the ability of free will and monsters became way stronger and out of control, Riza has once again turned into a living hell with multiple monster and human races fighting for dominance, that's when Dante had enough, in a reckless attempt he managed to come into contact again with Ikarisa and he received her release from the worlds bound before being captured by the Sentinels that where placed to protect her cage, after a while Dante found out he had powers unlike any other being in that world strength, speed, mind where all far beyond what other beings possessed.

He did what he thought was right and confronted Makaro and Kikaro in a fierce battle that shook the land, he managed to defeat them and seal them back in Kaima, but at the cost of his life, Ikarisa was once again free but devastated from the loss of her beloved, upon burying her beloved instead of returning to Kaima the goddess chose to stay in Riza and endure all the pain and hardships of life giving away most of her divine power and turning it to powerful relics that she ordered special individuals to scattere them across the land and never to be seen again. She swore amoung herself to look after and protect the land of Riza in the name of her beloved and the first Champion. Such was the story transferred from mouth to mouth over centuries and millennias throughout this world.
After he had almost finished his breakfast clouds seemed to form in the nearby area creating a cloak that covered both the sky and the piercing sunlight.
"Bad weather huh...whatever. I take it as an invitation for a day off." He said as he calmly got up.
Not long after the inevitable happened as rows of heavy rainfall began to droll all over the fields.
He washed the dishes that was left after he finished his breakfast, “Yeap, just in time. Wait, what the-“
Looking at the full of rain scenery it was easy for him to spot something out of the ordinary. A petite looking girl walking across the heavy rain her body was covered by what little cloth she had to go along with, all lost in despair and soaked to the bone it was but natural of him to immediately get up and help her right away, dashing out of his comfort and exposing himself to the waterfall of a rain that was mercilessly poured on the ground down bellow he softly grabbed the girl at the moment of her collapse.
"Hey! Its ok, you have nothing to be afraid off! Lets get you outta here!"
"T-Thank...you..." She said as she fainted.
She was soaking wet and weak, few were the words she had spoken before she succumbed to the strange safety she felt in Lass's arms, he brought her up and made sure to put her on a warm bed before descending to the kitchen to prepare a quick meal and medicine to treat her so as he thought to be dire situation but upon returning he was surprised but relieved to see that she had woken up, tightly clenching her soft first on the bed sheets as she was scared to make even the slightest of actions.
"Huh. Snapped out? I see...you where in a rather bad shape, what were you even thinking doing out in the rain all alone in the first place?", he retained his calm.
"I-I...I'm sorry..", she said in a low voice.
"I uh...nevermind. I don't know what came over me like that but, have we like met before?" He said as he looked at the girl. "It's a weird thing to ask given the circumstances but, something about you feels so so familiar, are you perhaps close to the supply line in the town? I think I may have seen you before…"
She said not a word rather than just listen to his. Even though his words were somewhat harsh and bold, it was again a strange feeling of familiarity that filled the air as those words where enough to make her calm down.
"So...there's no work to be done today, I'm off to get some things done around the house while I can, the weather doesn't allow me to do much of anything else anyway, If you need anything I'll be downstairs, but try to get some rest before anything else ok?"

"Ok..." She nodded in a careful manner.
As the time has passed and the noon has fallen it was then when she decided to wake up, after checking the bedroom she was surprised to see it was empty she then rushed down the stairs swiftly only to turn around fast only to see him cleaning around the kitchen.
"So you're up? good I got caught up in things so I forgot to have a bit for lunch, so why don't you just wait a bit and I'll make us something to eat, I promise I’ve got some skills in cooking."
The tiny girl only nodded as she backed away slowly trying to avoid Lass while keeping him in check.
”Oh and I did try to contact someone from town to get you somewhere safe so, they might send one of the nuns to come check on you, ok?”
She widened her eyes as she kept moving further backwards. It was obvious that she had been through much enough as what it was, Little did she know that the direction she was backing away into ended up being a shelf full of ceramics.
She unintentionally knocked the shelf down. "A-Ah!" She cried as she covered her head.
"Watch out!" Lass cried out loud.
Lass swiftly crossed across the kitchen and put himself over the tiny girl as shatters and cracks filled the room from the crushing dishware.
"I-I'm sorry" She said as tears rolled down her face.
"Hey what are you crying for? You not hurt, are you?”
"I...I broke them..."
"Are you kidding me?" Lass tried to calm her down. "As long as you're okay broken dishes mean nothing.”
"E-Eh?"
"Yeah, don’t worry. It is an inconvenience, yes but I’d argue that anyone’s safety is worth more than some plates, right?", he said as paused for a brief moment. "Lets try this again. Alright...you go sit in the living room for a second while I clean this up and we can have a little talk after okay? Nothing big, don't worry.", he grabbed a broom. "She's quite easy to drop some tears isn't she?", he quietly said.
"Ok..”, she made her way out of the kitchen.
Cleaning the mess and going to the living room he was surprised to see that she has picked up the laundry from the ongoing storm and was sitting wet once again, tinkering with what seemed to be a half dead flower.
"You stupid...whatever did she go out for again. She has her own stupid ways to get herself into danger."
Approaching her calmly, this time he was able to softly give her what he thought to be a nice gift.
"Alright so...here's some not wet comfy clothing that I brought for you. Should fit you so why don't you go ahead and change real quick?" He laid a pair of clothes on the table. "This should be good enough I believe. I'm no fashion expert but dad received this pair as a gift and a small would-be promo of a clothing line from someone. We were supposed to give this away with the next customer that'd fancy it but...yeah."
She then once more nodded not saying a word and did as Lass said going upstairs to change her clothing. Once she had finished changing and going downstairs she was met with unpleasant sight simply yet to be terrifying to her. Lass was holding towel over his bloody hand coming out of the kitchen it was dripping from the freshly opened wound.
Lass took a weird look at her. "Hmm? What's with that face? Come on no need to be like that! This is why I didn't want you to be in the kitchen when this happened, these plates were made by a special ceramic twice the sharpness of glass if broken, blacksmith knowledge. My dad liked making his own things instead of buying them for some odd reason.”
Rushing to his aid the petite girl grabbed his hand eagerly and began some sort of ritual, a tiny spark of light fell on Lass's hand as it began to heal up and soon after she had finished chanting he pulled the towel off, the blood was completely dried and the wound was completely closed as if it never happened in first place, it was then when he took a look at the withered flower the girl was tinkering with before, completely revitalized standing up the flower was looking as if it was among the first to catch a sip of a morning dew.
"Alright then, some explanations are inbound right?"
"Y-You're not, scared?", she said in surprise.
Before another word could be spoken the door loudly thud, as a soldier from the outside was waiting for an audience.
"Stay here, I'll go." He said as he opened the door.
"Greetings citizen! Have you perhaps come across a petite girl running around these fields?!" The soldier loudly said.
“What the hell? A Reingard soldier is he doing here? What the…no, wait something’s definitely up.”, he whispered. "Uh no, this one right here is my little sister, Maria. But why exactly would a soldier, come all the way from Reingard to be here?", he put on his best act.
"The aforementioned person is extremely dangerous, they must be captured and prosecuted, as per orderd from the king himself!" The soldier said slamming his spear.
"I...alright, I'll let you know if anything comes up, have a good day." Lass said as he tried to push the soldier away.
He then slowly turned around to face the petite girl.
"Really who are you and why are you being chased like that?"
“Why didn’t you…give me away?”, the girl asked.
”For two main reasons, one, you don’t seem extremely dangerous to anyone but yourself and two, the last time this place saw a Reingard soldier was probably during the World War. And also, I asked for a nun and he felt almost zero to none of the nun criteria. But I’d much appreciate if you gave me any lead to go by at all, considering you and the soldier are quite suspicious.”
Through her teeth and with a heavy breath, the girl tried to give Lass her previously concealed identity. "I-I...am Ikarisa. And that person, he was no soldier. He was, one of them." She said in a scared voice.
For the first time in what he would refer to as forever, Lass's face lit up with surprise as he couldn't believe the cards that fate had displayed before him.
