《Travels along the Astral Road》'Sandstorm'

Wu Guang's plan was simple, use smoke to hinder the archer and then close in to close quarters.
There was a campfire near each of the tents and as protection against the wind, they were located on the inner side of the camp. Because of this, the nearest campfire was on Wu Guang's side. Taking a piece of firewood that was slightly burning, Wu Guang simply threw it towards the tent.
The tents were made of common cloth and they were oiled to serve against rain, so the flame started almost instantly.
Wu Guang did not hear or see any of the bandits at the moment and the same applied to them, so using the smoke, he could actually disappear from their sight - which he proceeded to do by lowering himself and slowly crawling back towards the main tent.
The smoke and the fact that the bandits would probably expect him to utilize it for an ambush served him to escape, as he managed to cross the zone where the archer and another bandit could have seen him if they were not glued to the tent's direction.
These last actions could be looked at as haphazard, but Wu Guang's had decided on a different plan at the last moment. Although it was mainly the same, in place of advancing he first retreated. The new plan was to use the confusion and the bigger tent to circle around the bandits and eliminate the main danger, which for him was the archer.
Wu Guang had decided the danger levels after concluding that the archer was one of the supposed advanced Body realm cultivators, which meant that probably he could infuse qi in his muscles which would strengthen the force enough to wound him, even considering the fact of his skin and battle robe.
Wu Guang had discarded the blade bow, but he could reach it from the point he was right now without alerting the bandits, but after thinking of it, he decided to not. The latter was because he would need time to aim, which would diminish the chance of a stealth attack, after all, the bandits would start searching for him in a few moments. So in place of reaching for the bow, he reached towards one of the throwing daggers. The 'Underground Biting' daggers were made of chitin, so when Wu Guang infused and covered the one in his hand with qi, the normal brown color disappeared and in place, the dagger appeared as if made from transparent crystal, illuminated by the qi inside and outside it.

Using the west corner to peek towards where the bandits should still be, he saw three of them. The three were standing close to each other, almost as if discussing something while carefully scanning the terrain before and around them. As the three were the ones that used leather armor, the archer was present amongst them. Quickly scanning the situation and finding that no signs of it being a setup Wu Guang acted on the spot, deciding that waiting more would be dangerous.
The qi-covered dagger left his hand in such fluid motion that only a person observing it closely would have noticed the fact, although if an expert looked at the throw the surprising factor would be not the swift and fluid motion. An expert would point out the fact that the throw did not require any visible effort or concentration, showing familiarity and training unattainable for someone of such low level.
After the dagger left his hand, Wu Guang started moving towards the bandits, without waiting for the result.
Right as he took a step from behind the tent he was noticed by the leather armored bandit that carried a spear, but before the latter could react and notify his companions the dagger arrived and hit the archer on the back of the neck, killing him on the spot.
And with this prelude, Wu Guang's first hand-to-hand battle started.
The spear wielder was just about to open his mouth when his companion that was armed with a bow suddenly fell on the ground and only after he noticed the pommel of a knife or dagger and blood flowing underneath, the former mind understood that their opponent had killed him. The sword and shield bandit also reacted instantly as he felt their companion fall and turned around, only to notice Wu Guang who was slowly approaching them with a saber in his right hand.
"Bastard" Was the only word that escaped the mouth of the spear-wielding bandit before he started moving towards Wu Guang with his companion following closely behind.
Judging from their calm approach and the fact that the one-armed with shield and sword took point after a few steps, Wu Guang's thoughts about them being soldiers was confirmed. The fact that another bandit was missing bothered him, albeit not enough to stop his mind from quickly formulating a battle strategy.
He was currently armed with a saber and intended to use the 'Sandstorm' school he obtained and as most of the movements were intended to be used against soldiers. And considering the difference in cultivation, he did not fear being outmatched. To be sincere he knew that he surpassed his opponents in everything, even in experience if his memories were included so internally, Wu Guang considered this simple training.

When the distance shortened to ten feet from the starting one hundred or so, the bandit with the shield suddenly darted forward, intending to tackle Wu Guang while the spear one stopped on the same line, seemingly intending to land a blow if their opponent dodged.
Regretfully for them, 'Sandstorm' movements were made to deal with such opponents. So in place of dodging to the side as one would expect, Wu Guang kicked the shield and jumped backward.
The spear wielder did react quickly and lunged forward but his attempt was foiled as Wu Guang saber made a full circle while he was landing, not only blocking the spear but also almost sending it flying, such strength was applied behind the seemingly casual sweep. Wu Guang did not land and stay still, but in turn, utilized the landing motion as spring to jump forward. With his target being the shield and sword bandit.
The latter reacted timely, confirming his experience, but unluckily his slash was blocked by Wu Guang's saber. And before he could recover his guard, a punch landed on his face, sending him tumbling backward.
With this brief exchange, Wu Guang confirmed that his opponents had military training. And quickly evaluated their strength "The Shield bandit managed to recover after a few backsteps. And his face had not suffered damage from the punch. From this, his cultivation should be around the 8th or 9th level of the Body realm. The other bandit should be on a similar level as well".
In this situation, Wu Guang was sure to win even without resorting to qi techniques, after all, they could not infuse qi in all of their body at the same time, and the parts that they infused would be done so for a brief time or they risked running out of qi. While in Wu Guang's case, he could easily maintain all his body infused at the same time, and even while fighting, his dantian would sustain such usage for several hours easily.
He also noted that their training wasn't bad at all, at least in the case of the shield bandit. The latter managed to infuse qi in time as if he did not, Wu Guang's punch would have most probably incapacitated him.
But Wu Guang was not interested in fighting for several hours, especially when there was a missing bandit and he still did not know anything about Yuan Taotu and 'Big Chopper', so in place of standing there, he started moving at full speed, which albeit possible for the bandits to recreate briefly still was impossible for them to maintain. Using the fact that he could maintain both speed and power at peak levels without any issue, Wu Guang followed with several slashes and punches, from which only some of the former were blocked while the latter did not miss even a single time while landing on the nearest, in this case, the shield wielder.
This was the real essence of the 'Sandstorm' school, which was to use the weapon as support. While the real attacks would be landed via punches and kicks. The kicks were not used by Wu Guang, mainly because most of them were meant to be utilized when fighting against a single opponent, while a pair of opponents was recommended to be fought with the hands, leaving the legs for movement and evasion.
Albeit 'Sandstorm' was enough to deal with his opponents, he still wanted to use Qi techniques. So Wu Guang disengaged by jumping outside the range of both bandits and prepared to activate the 'Flaming Fist'. Only for his left hand, as he decided to try out the strongest method he had thought of, which was to use a combination of the fist and the saber from the sandstorm.
Both of his opponents were still silent and looked calm, but the fact that the shield bandit face and uncovered arms showed several bruises as well that both were now grasping for air when compared to the fully intact and unflustered Wu Guang made clear how the battle had progressed until now.

Peerless Hegemon
Warning: Can be quite tearjerking and depressing (or so others say). If you are weak to that and hates that kind of thing, then this story is not for you === Ye Feng lived two lives in one lifetime. First, he basked in the light of Righteousness, becoming an idol of peace and justice. Second, he trod the mired path of the Darkest Path, becoming an object of fear and death. One lifetime, Two Identities, countless experiences, still without purpose. A meaningless existence. An empty husk. In his selfishness of wanting to fill the void in him, he became the catalyst that destroyed Reality. He now controlled everything, ultimate power, uncontestable by none. But he cast it away, to be reborn anew. With a new name and a family, his goal was to understand, his place. To understand how to no longer feel empty. With his family consisting of a Reincarnated Twin Sister and Parents with inscrutable pasts, his desire was not that of grandeur. In this lifetime, he wishes not to hold power, not to gain eternal life, nor control of everything, he only wishes to live, and hopefully look at sunrise with a smile on his face. === Disclaimer: The story focuses on the Main Character’s emotional and personality growth. He is someone who is, obviously OP in some perspectives but almost crippled in others. He is not soft and does not spare anyone because it is “Bad” so expect that there would be genocide and some bloody encounters. I want this instead of just the MC’s search for life and its complication. Where Philosophy and values exist. A story where every action has proper consequences, and not everything can be conquered with a single punch (unless it can be, no need for an unnecessary complication if it can be avoided). Further Notes: This is a story that will gradually increase in word counts and become Chunkier as it progresses and will almost never be below 2000 words, but if the word count will only lengthen the chapter at the expense of a finished tale, it could and would be cut off before 2000 mark), give it a try, it won’t disappoint (I hope). And if by chance that you like it, giving a good Rating and Review will be encouraging to me and possible readers. Schedule: Monday and Friday If you want to read ahead and/or support me to creating this story, you can do it through my Patreon (link below the next chapter button.) This is also a rewrite of this: Peerless Hegemon [OLD] | Royal Road

NEVER SPLIT THE PARTY: The Adventures of The Creeping Bam (BOOK ONE: The Job)
TAO is a broken world held together with nothing but magic and the will of the gods who protect it and its people. Then thousand years ago THE SUNDERING struck and Tao was almost torn apart by a terrible magical cataclysm which resulted in the planet almost being halted in its journey through the cosmos. It took all the power the gods of Tao could muster to restore its orbit and set it turning again, but in their efforts it was forever changed – its axis was drastically altered, and it now spins in such a way that one face of the world is forever turned from the sun it orbits, leaving half the planet in perpetual darkness. The various humanoid races that survived and now thrive within the habitable parts of THE DAY LANDS have come to live in perpetual fear of what lives beyond THE BORDERLANDS that separate them from whatever dwells within THE NIGHT LANDS, but for ten millennia it has kept its secrets. The land of RUNDAO languishes under the rule of their warlike Northern neighbours, the TEKTEHRAN EMPIRE, while a small, ragtag band of motley adventurers ply their mercenary trade fighting monsters and protecting the common man from the various dangers that haunt the night and prowl the hinterlands on the edges of civilization. THE CREEPING BAM have amassed a modest reputation in their years together, but they’re still just a small-time party of sellswords, thieves, outcasts and mages. They’re also exactly the kind of underdogs the people of Tao doesn’t yet realise are needed to save the world from the encroaching darkness they doesn’t even know is coming … This is a love letter and homage to the high-fantasy worlds of the tabletop RPGs like Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder and Warhammer and the sword & sorcery cinema and literature I fell in love with as a kid growing up in the 80s, from Robert E. Howard’s Conan the Barbarian (and the awesome Schwarzenegger movie, STILL my favourite fantasy film EVER), The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit and Ron Howard and George Lucas’ Willow, to the more grown-up and edgy worlds of grimdark masters George RR Martin and (my all-time favourite) Joe Abercrombie, as well as a BIG DOLLOP of Terry Pratchett’s immortal Discworld series. IMPORTANT: This story contains material which some readers may consider to be mature, such as battle violence, some strong language and occasional mild sexual scenes. If this is not your kind of thing, this story is not for you. I am also serializing this story on Tumblr, Wattpad, Quotev and Sweek.

I'm JUST a Farmer NOT an Adventuerer! (Isekai) Light Novel (Watashi wa tada no nōmindeari, bōken-kade wa arimasen!)
Simple farm life in a simple village is all Aiel has ever known. Monster slaying? Exploring?... Those are things for adventurers, knights, and heroes, aren't they? But what Aiel doesn't know is when one day a cute, but clutzy adventurer accidentally stumbles into his village, his life will never be the same._____________________________________ I've always liked the idea of stories about people who travel to other worlds that are different, yet familiar to what they know. Stories about "what if" world's where things operate like what a modern person would see in a video game. But another more so would be what it is the people we call NPC's actually think. This story explores such a situation on such a world. My story is called: "I'm JUST a Farmer, NOT an Adventurer!!!" A lighthearted comedy Isekai light novel currently ongoing. I really appreciate feedback and take it all under consideration. Everything helps me improve my story. Let me know your thoughts, what you would have preferred to see, or even things you'd hope happen. I always enjoy hearing people's thoughts. I hope you enjoy reading! MAZE - The Endless Quest
As all kids do, Hera wanted to be an explorer. Sadly when she turned 18, she discovered that her stats and lack of skills made her fail the requirements to become one, and she went to work on a bookstore. That should have been the end of her story. But when she wins a lottery to have her level up, she discovers a hidden skill and a rare one at that. The system gave her dream back, and this time she is not letting it go. ############################## The story is about a world where game-like systems are the norm. Everyone has a level, status, and even skills are a common thing. If your stats are good, you can also become an explorer, someone that ventures inside a place called MAZE, a dungeon of sorts filled with monsters, creatures, and things that the natural world is missing, such as magic and demi-humans. The story follows Hera, a woman who wanted to be an explorer, but her status were too low to become one. One day she wins a raffle that allows her to level up for the first time giving her the chance to achieve her childhood dream. It's more about how things work and what you can do with them than about power or revenge. The rhythm might be a bit slow for some, but that is the idea. I want to give sort of a slice of life feeling to most of it.
