《Travels along the Astral Road》Weapons

"Yes. I acquired all the weapons Young Master ordered" Seeing that Wu Guang did not yet ask, she decided to report on her own before he checked the weapons
"Every weapon except the throwing daggers and the staff come from the same person. One of the guild merchants was preparing them for a group of caravan guards, but they did not return from their contract on time. So he was happy to sell me part of their shipment right away, even at a lower price. Although the clubs are of low quality, all of the others are medium-quality ones. The main reason for the discount was not only that the clients did not arrive, but also the fact of all weapons having a sparrow on them, the logo of the group"
"I don't see any problem with the latter, they are meant for training anyways"
"I thought that Young Master would not have any problems with it, but still got almost a fifth of the price off"
"That's even better. And Miss Li, don't call me Young Master, my name is Wu Guang"
"Then allow me to do so, Master Wu" Li Xia face was crossed by a small smile and afterward she continued
"The staff is a normal martial staff made of cypress. Low quality, but I was assured of its sturdiness. I had some problems with the throwing knives, but I managed to find a set as requested. This set is named and of common high quality"
"Miss Li, I thought a high quality, even if it's a common weapon should be priced above 25 silver? And a full set of throwing weapons should be far more expensive?"
"You are right. But this set can't be considered high-quality. They are made from non-spirit underhill bug chitin, so their damage is minimal when thrown without the user being a cultivator. Still, they can be used for training, so I brought them for Master Wu to decide" With this said, Li Xia took a black harness from a bag she carried in one of her hands and extended it towards Wu Guang.

Receiving the harness, Wu Guang saw several grips poking out of the cloth. Taking out one of the knives he carefully examined it. It was very light and felt perfectly balanced. The chitin used as the material was half transparent and brown in color. The blade was sharp, but light and with the material being softer than iron, if someone threw it without enough force the blade would not penetrate even a simple board.
After the examination, Wu Guang concluded that most probably this set was meant for a cultivator of the Spirit realm because if covered with qi while thrown, the knife would be a deadly weapon.
"They seem to be good enough for training. I am interested in them. Miss Li, did you say they are named? And what would be the price?"
"Yes. They are from the stock of a merchant that died while traveling, the name he had mentioned when storing them in one of the guild warehouses is 'Underground Biting'. As there is no owner and they can't be used normally if Master Wu buys them the price would be 17 silver coins"
"I see. I will indeed buy them. I trust that the other weapons are what you described, so let's finish the matter before unpacking. How much else do I owe Miss Li for the weapons and services?"
"The low-quality ax along with the mid-quality shield, big saber, small saber, short spear, long spear, hammer, sword, and two iron clubs amounted to 21 silver in total. The staff was a silver and half. Adding the 17 silver from the daggers, the amount would ascend to 39 silver and half. As informed previously, my services would be a tenth of the sum, but considering that I went over the provided sum, I will half it"
"Miss Li did everything right so there is no need. Here you go" Said Wu Guang while taking out one gold and five silver from his pouch and passing them to Li Xia. Stopping her with a motion when she wanted to return the silver Wu Guang made it clear that he did not make a mistake with the extra six silver. Then turning around and walking away, he went to look at the rest of the weapons.

After checking that the weapons he bought were indeed what Li Xiang explained, Wu Guang actually thought that he got very lucky. Only the nine medium quality weapons should already cost about 35 silver, while the throwing knives set he was still carrying in his hand was not a common one, it was a weapon intended for cultivators, and by such should cost at least thrice the amount he paid. Being a weapon designed for use with qi would actually solve his need for a weapon after he forms his dantian but doesn't acquire a spirit weapon.
"Miss Li, everything is checked, thank you for the services. Let me return your badge" Saying this Wu Guang passed the guild badge he was given as a sign of their agreement.
"Thank you Master Wu" Li Xia accepted the badge while slightly bowing. She had a smile drawn over her face and Wu Guang actually took a good look at her, noting that Li Xia was actually not much older than him, and if one ignored her baggy clothes and dusty unkempt hair, she would be considered pretty.
Meanwhile, Li Xia had straightened up and started speaking
"Master Wu, I will take my leave then. If you require my services again, I will be at the same place for the next few days. Best luck during your training"
In response, Wu Guang also intended to say his farewell when an idea crossed his mind, and instead, he asked
"Miss Li, before you leave. I wanted to acquire another weapon, but I had a bit of a problem with it. Maybe you could help me?"
"What weapon are we talking about?"
"I wanted to buy a quality bow and I was recommended to a merchant surnamed Li from the western district. I did try to visit his store, but he was not available. I don't know if I will be able to visit again, if you know of him, maybe you could either get me an appointment or ask for what he has available?"
Shock flashed across Li Xia face, but she quickly hid it behind her normally expressionless face and nodded while saying
"I do know of his store, and indeed it is considered the best place to get a bow in the city. I do know that the store has been opening rarely, but I will find a way to contact Mister Li, please leave it to me"
Wu Guang noticed the change of expression Li Xia had, but when she accepted, he decided that even if there was something strange going around, he should not question.
"The maximum price I can afford would be 30 silver if it's a high-quality bow. But if it's something superior, I am open to discussion. Obviously, your commission is not included in that sum"
"It may take some days, but I will notify Master Wu when I reach a result. Is there any deadline?"
Thinking for a bit, Wu Guang decided that he would need at least a full day to get used to it, so he said
"Four days from now"
"Understood. Then I will take my leave"
"Take care, and I will wait for your news" Said Wu Guang with a light smile. And right after, he called the guard that stood some feet away from them.
When the latter approached, Wu Guang asked him to guide her and the porters to the exit. He also mentioned that Li Xia may return in the following days and should be led to him in such case.
