《Glimpse of Eternity》Interlude - The Glasses-Wearing Nurse's Melancholy
Advertisement
A certain nurse was walking through the halls of a certain hospital. She wasn't some world-shaking beauty, but she was most definitely a head-turner. Shiny black hair, tied in a neat bun behind her hair gave her a clean impression. The black-rimmed glasses that framed her eyes also added a bit more to her charm.
Her destination? An extremely luxurious private ward located at the end of this hallway. It didn't take long for her to reach it either, as it was quite close to where nurses stayed on standby.
She walked up to the door, framed by two tall men in black suits. Bodyguards, obviously.
She had been assigned to this room's owner for about a month now, so the men didn't stop her.
'These guys are way too intimidating. Well, that is part of their job, I suppose. There're so many of them though, two hanging around by the gates, two by the main building's entrance, a bunch of them patrolling the hospital, and then there's these two. Aren't there way too many of them? It's like they own the hospital or something...' The nurse thought. There had always been a few of these Bodyguards near this private ward, but the number didn't really exceed four. They had also never been so blatant about their bodyguarding.
All of that changed about a week ago. Their numbers multiplied and they'd started acting differently.
In fact, the nurse didn't know that there were a few more bodyguards disguised as ordinary hospital patients or visitors roaming around even before a month ago.
"Excuse me, I'm coming in," The nurse called towards the inside of the room. She opened the door and went inside when a response didn't come after a few seconds,
'This room is as stupidly luxurious as always.' She thought while giving the room a quick scan, her eyes stopping on a young woman in a maid uniform.

'It even has maids too... two of them at that' She thought with a hint of exasperation.
Even though she had been coming and going here this past month, she still couldn't really get used to it. Still, she had a job to do. So she turned her gaze away from the maid and walked towards the only bed in the room, where a young man was currently laying. The nurse traced her eyes over the tubes connected to various apparatuses that were currently attached to his body.
'This is another thing I can't get used to. He's so handsome! Some eye candy is always appreciated with how the majority of the people I got assigned to are kids or older folks.' The nurse stared at Ken a bit longer.
His facial features were mostly western with only small traces of his Japanese heritage. His face had a perfect symmetry to it, almost as if it was artificial. His nose was high with a bit of sharpness to it, which most people would have to get an operation to obtain. His lips, just like the rest of his face were perfectly symmetrical, with a 1:1 ratio between the top and bottom parts. His eyes were closed at the moment, but the nurse had seen Ken when he was awake before, and she knew he had pretty bright blue eyes.
'If you describe his face part by part, they sound nice, but it can't fully convey just how crazy his looks are. It's the kind of thing you have to experience in person.' The nurse thought seriously.
'Even his hair is a plus, despite...' The nurse then turned her gaze to Ken's hair, which had the color of ivory. It was a hair color one would normally associate with the elderly. 'It looks super good on him though!'

'Plus his appeal isn't just his physical looks. He has ikkemen aura oozing off of him like crazy, even a married older woman like me can't help but get a bit nervous around him. Well, there's none of that aura right now though...' The nurse thought.
(Author's note: Ikkemen - A Japanese term for Handsome/Cool guys.)
"Ehem." One of the maids seemed to have realized that the nurse had been staring too much. The nurse, embarrassed by her blunder, quickly started to go about her work quietly. She examined the various apparatuses attached to Ken, while noting some things down on the clipboard she had brought with her.
'Poor Mr. Ken, he's been in a coma for a month now.'
Ken was quite well-known amongst the nurses in the hospital. Even though he obviously came from some sort of crazy rich family, he was always polite and well-mannered. Although he had a habit of teasing people he got a bit closer with, the people involved never took it the wrong way. Interactions with him generally went well, as long as you weren't intentionally being rude.
'And he even gives out all sorts of things. I think he called them 'offerings'?' The nurse thought.
These so-called offerings, were gifts brought by various people whenever they came to visit Ken. Of the things, those people brought, only a few of them would actually be used or consumed by Ken. If Kyouka liked anything there, Ken would give it to her. Some would be sold online. And most would be shared with the nurses, bodyguards, or maids. When he would give them out to the nurses assigned to him, he would tell them to share them with the other nurses, since he had no use for them. The things he would give out were various expensive wines or sweets. Sometimes he would give out the branded bags and wallets he got instead of selling them off. Added to his pleasant personality, his reputation in the hospital was sky-high.
On another note, these visitors were actually the main reason the ward had to be furnished and decorated so luxuriously. If it weren't for these people, Ken would have been fine with a normal private ward, although the comfy bed, bookshelves, and refrigerators would have still been added eventually. Kyouka's stuff, including her armchair and table, would have also been put there by her at some point.
Once the nurse had finished checking and noting things down, she gave the young man one last scan with her eyes, before turning around and heading for the door.
'The Heavens are truly cruel' She couldn't help but think as she left. "*Sigh*"

Tales of the 33rd universe - A Mech Designer story
Meet Marcus Caelum, since young he wanted nothing else to play with mechs. He studied, worked hard and he finally did it, now he is a Mech Designer (provisional). He achieved his dream and now is the time for realization, he now will learn that not all is great, that there are things to learn and that if he wants to do the job well he better adapt. Cover taken from a Battletech manual. This is my "first" novel so do forgive the quality a bit.It is mostly a Slice of life following what I believe a Mech Designer life would be. It will have action, science, comedy, dark moments and some adventure. It will barely have any romance and little actual combat (he won't go off fighting enemies everywhere, the MC is not a fighter). It's medium sci-fi, most hard science with some mana altering normal materials. The pacing is a bit slow, it takes some time for the story to advance. The first arc is completed and the novel is until further notice on HIATUS.I may continue the Tales of the 47th Universe to try my hand at another style and pacing. More info in chapter 22.

It was then did John use a dark magic that did he got them out of that situation. But in exchange for the princess's safety, John Sarvod was exiled from A'vetheas for using 'demon magic'. What will he do after the life he knew was uprooted and taken away from him? Will the 'demon magic' that caused his exile from the Elven Tribe bring him into a slow descent into madness? Book 2 description: Having found a life for himself outside of A'vetheas, a family, enrolled to a good school, and a potential romantic partner, John Sarvod continues on with his life the best he could, carrying himself forward, until... He messes it all up again. This time, however, it isn't because of his magic. It was by his own demerit. What is the cause of despair? Find out in Consignor Book 2. Old description (Without spoiler) John Sarvod, user of the most powerful healing spell [Heal], the rare ability to heal and recover all injuries, is the only human that lives in the Elven Tribe. Though he was gifted with [Heal], he could not cast any magic other than his one and only [Heal]. Aside from his current training to become a royal scribe, he is known to all elves as the ‘Healer of A’vetheas’ and had gained a certain amount of respect from them due to how much he works. But life for him in the Elven Tribe, A’vetheas wasn't never always like this. Because he was human, and that the Elves have isolated themselves from the outside world, his presence initially was not welcomed by the elves that thinks highly of him today. It was all thanks to the Elven Queen who brought him in, and the Elven Princess, Raina Valindra Eridi, that he could reach this day. But things changed when the Raina that he so adored used the teleportation device for a small date with him, where they met with danger that the [Heal] that he relied all this time could not save him from… In his desperate attempts to save Raina, John ended up committing a taboo of the elves. As for his punishment when he returned to A’vetheas? That was just the beginning of him, continuing the path that he had inevitably taken prior to the life he had before he lived in A’vetheas. This is a story of a not too average person end up becoming something that he could have never imagined. A monster? A demon? A god? Only time will tell. It is just a matter of time that John Sarvod would embrace his true self. Content Warning because I want to have flexibility, and maybe it gets overwhelming at times. I have a backlog already, this story won't be dropped. Edited: romance tag to action tag, story has more or less of both, but yeah. There's slice of life tagged in because my story progresses not too quickly (by my opinion) I like to take things slow, I suppose. :3
