《MY Life In The Multiverse》Chapter 147: New house and Maid

Today, Yuki finally found a big house that could accommodate him and his friends, in fact, it was an underestimation to call it a house since it was nothing short of a huge mansion that was built in traditional Japanese style.
"Waa, Yuki, can we really live with you here?" Asked Ashiya suspiciously and Yuki warmly smiled at him and said "Of course you can my dear friend"
"This is great! Thanks a lot, you really are a good guy " Replied Maou with an excited look on his face and Yuki replied with a wider smile as he said "No need to thank me, just pay me 10 times what you were paying that fat purple monster and we will be even"
Maou and Ashiya froze as they stared at the greed-filled eyes of Yuki and they couldn't help but curse in their heads 'How could we believe this guy would do something out of his good will, there's no goodness in his twisted heart!'
"That's a bit too much isn't it?" Spoke Maou with an awkward look on his face, but Yuki was a greatmaster of shamelessness so he wasn't fazed at all as he replied "Nah, it's only fair, this house is equipped with the best facilities… It's a level of luxury you will never achieve if you keep working at that MgRonald…"
"Yes but, we can't pay that much" spoke Maou while putting on poppy eyes trying to play on Yuki's soft side but he had nothing like that for demons like him, only trickery and more trickery as he sighed and said "And here I thought this would be a worthy fortress of a demon lord such as yourself… too bad, it seems like I misjudged your worth"
Maou and Ashiya instantly turned serious as the latter said "Well hold on a second, my lord is indeed worthy of such luxury"
"Indeed, and having such a base will make it easier to attract followers in the future" Responded Maou with a thoughtful look on his face
Yuki smiled evilly to himself as he thought 'The fish took the bait…'
…
Meanwhile, Emilia couldn't help but shake her head while Mashiro stared at them curiously, as for Shizue, she simply giggled slightly at Yuki's antics before she entered the house with the two girls to check it out!
Meanwhile, everyone forgot about Yurei as always thanks to his lack of presence, and as for Hanzo, there was no sight of him…
In fact, it almost appeared like everyone didn't care about the existence of that parasite… as for what happened to him? he was facing the most terrible fate he could imagine… having to work!
After the trip to the park, he suddenly found his magic power getting sealed by Maou, and one event after another led him to a building site and now he had to work his ass off every day to repay the demons and one ghost for the pain they thought he caused them which was worse than torture for his lazy ass…

….
After Yuki tricked the demons into paying him a big load of money through all kinds of tricks such as inflating their egos and telling them that this was nothing for great people like them… A knock sounded on the huge gate of this great house, and as Ashiya went to open the door, he was surprised to find that it was a beautiful girl in traditional Japanese clothing, and even her accent seemed different than that of Tokyo as she said
"Pleased to meet you dear sir, I'm here for the interview of a maid position posted by mister Yuki Chibana, Is the position still available?"
Ashiya didn't have any change on his face other than surprise as he asked "Yuki posted a maid request? I will go inform him, please come in"
"Thank you very much" Said the girl with a bow before she suddenly realized something and said "Ah sorry, I forgot to introduce myself, my name is Suzuno Kamazuki, it's a pleasure to make your acquaintance"
"My name is Ashiya Shiro, and the pleasure is mine" Replied Ashiya with a warm smile that would have creeped Yuki out as he was internally thinking 'There's something weird about this girl… Oh well, it's Yuki's problem anyways'
As Ashiya reached this conclusion, he didn't care anymore and directly laid Suzuno to a guest room while he himself went to tell Yuki about the girl…
…
A few minutes later, Yuki arrived to meet Suzuno and it was an understatement to say that he was surprised as e clearly recognized the girl as someone from Ente Isla that was sent to hunt Maou and Ashiya, and even Emilia if she was found to be a traitor to the church.
'Isn't this Chrestia Bell, the chief of something of the church Emilia used to belong to?' wondered Yuki as he sat in front of the girl who introduced herself to him once more and he also did the same before he asked
"It must feel strange for you to attend this interview on your own?" Spoke Yuki calmly trying to confirm a certain guess in his mind and Suzuno quickly replied" I'm not sure, I was only told to come here at this time for the interview"
"I see, I was expecting many people to apply for this job since it was a popular hiring agency and my pay offer wasn't small, but I guess not many people are interested hahaha" spoke Yuki with a laugh but he could see that Suzuno shifted nervously as if she realized that she did something suspicious…
'I see, she probably used magic to remove all competition for the job… What should I do now? Should I accept her as a caretaker for Mashiro or not,?' Wondered Yuki as he thought about this unstable factor that entered his house but he was soon interrupted by Emilia and Shizue entering the room and the former squinted slightly at Chrestia before she turned to Yuki and said

"I heard from Ashiya that you wanted to hire a maid to take care of Mashiro…"
Meanwhile, Shizue stared silently at Suzuno before she took a seat to Yuki's right and introduced herself while Emilia sat to his left and Yuki could see the clear surprise on Suzuno's face that was clearly from her not expecting to see Emilia, the hero of Ente Isla living with the demons they hated…
'Were the rumors of her betraying the church and colluding with the demons true?' Wondered Chrestia…
Meanwhile, Yuki calmly nodded and said "I can't let you deal with that responsibility all the time so hiring a maid is a must, at least until she learns to take care of herself"
Emilia nodded, she felt glad that Yuki was thinking about her but she didn't know what to do in this situation, but she then remembered the attack on the park and thought 'Mashiro will need someone to protect her in case such a thing happens again…'
After thinking about this, Emilia nodded at Yuki and said "I think this girl will be a good maid for Mashiro-chan"
Yuki didn't want to let his knowledge about the girl's identity known yet so he calmly asked "How do you know?"
Shizue also stared at her suspiciously which prompted Emilia to say awkwardly "Woman instinct…"
Shizue noticed Yuki thinking something bad about Emilia as he stared at her with a weird look in his eyes but eventually nodded and said to Suzuno "Fine then, you are hired, Emi here will show you what your responsibilities are"
Suzuno was surprised by Yuki's easy decision but she thought that he trusted in Emilia's judgment so she bowed slightly and said "I will do my best"
Seeing this, Yuki nodded with a smile before he stood up and left while Shizue followed silently behind him leaving Emilia alone with Suzuno…
"Chrestia, what are you doing here?" Spoke Emilia after creating a soundproof barrier that covered the whole room and Chrestia immediately replied "I should ask you this, hero Emilia, what do you plan to achieve by living with these demons?"
"I'm keeping an eye on them so that they don't cause trouble to the people of this world" Spoke Emilia, although she clearly didn't have any faith in her words as so far, she saw nothing evil from those demons which made her doubt all of her previous beliefs…
Chrestia noticed this but she ignored it and asked "I'm here to eliminate those demons, are you willing to give me a hand?"
Emilia frowned after hearing this but she eventually said "I suggest you don't try such a stupid thing, those demons aren't easy to deal with… and most importantly, this house belongs to that man you just met Yuki, and I will advise you to not provoke him"
Suzuno had a sarcastic smile on her face as she said "Oh, the great hero of Ente Isla is afraid of a normal human?"
Emilia shrugged at how lightly Chrestia was taking this situation so she calmly said "Your pride as a great assassin will be your downfall, don't say I didn't warn you… Anyways, follow me, I will show you your duties, Knowing how Yuki thinks he probably didn't hire you just to take care of Mashiro-chan but also to take care of this big house he just bought…"
Chrestia nodded calmly and watched as Emilia removed the sound barrier and she couldn't help but shoot the door the friendly white-haired man walked out from a weird look as she thought 'Is that guy really as dangerous as Emilia said? I guess I will have to get close to him as well, not just the demons…'
As Chrestia was lost in her plans while Emilia explained to her Mashiro's unique situation, on the couch of the room they were speaking so seriously in, Yurei smiled awkwardly before he muttered "Was I supposed to overhear all of this…"
"Guess I will just tell Yuki and Shizue and let them decide what to do, this girl might prove to be dangerous… what a pity" he couldn't help but lament with a face full of regret at the end of his muttering… He regretted not having some popcorn, he would have enjoyed that show even more…
…
Yuki of course knew all of this but he didn't care since that girl was of no threat to him… Not to mention that Maou and Ashiya could see through people like her from miles away so he wasn't worried about them and turned his sight to what was truly important… Grow stronger!
"Time to give Ryushi and that girl another visit, I need to finish these quests to go visit this new world… Loguetown being the first destination can't be a coincidence…"
As Yuki made up his mind, he directly left his house and made his way to the hidden lab where a terrifying assassin was being held captive…

My second life in a fantasy world
Important Announcement: English is not my first language, sorry for the mistakes After living a long life on earth, it was finally time to leave, bedridden in a hospital, surrounded by a large family, between sobs and sad goodbye glances, bearing many memories, some good, some bad, funny moments, sad moments, happy moments, tragic moments, I finally closed my eyes and plunged into the abyss of darkness and what awaited me on the other side was ... An old ex-mercenary hungry for adventure is reincarnated in a world of swords and magic, with no trap powers, just his own strength, wits, and outlandish friends. P.S. I am a totally amateur writer, I write just for fun, I am working on illustrations with another person, I plan to put one on the cover of each chapter reflecting its content. At the moment I already have partially assembled the story, I just need to polish a little, the rhythm in which the chapters appear may vary. The original version in Spanish can be found here for the curious https://www.wattpad.com/myworks/250682744-mi-segunda-vida-en-un-mundo-de-fantas%C3%ADa

Luck And Chronomancy
Time Magic is the best magic as everyone knows, although there are lots of unique Talents in the world. Most people only remember Haste because it is hard to get to higher Phases of Chronomancy. That is still enough to make the Talent iconic. A lucky enough Aleatory Talent can position you for greatness or leave you languishing in obscurity. The only true equality in the world is when that glowing message pops up at 8 years old. Even if it doesn't activate until you are an adult at 16 you still know. Sure you can find a new dungeon spawn and get another chance at a rare Talent, even this one, but you have to already be ready to delve into the *Far Wilds*, which is far easier with wealth or family power. This is the story of where my good fortune took me and the difference it made, even among a party of 7 others including an Arcanist. It is a journey of magic and monsters but also math, which some think is actually worse. Luckily I was born with Intelligence and Focus as my personal traits, and my parents were scholars. Of course Chronomancy can also be a frontline combat talent. Versitility well beyond other Elder Talents like Gravity, Abstraction, or Arcana. Might could have worked for me, too. I also met a runaway princess. All the best adventures have a princess. She hated being a noble and we didn't get married but it still counts. Besides she really filled out our front line. All that Leadership training came in handy. I still don't know where she's from. Who cares? How well Haste goes with giant hammers is what's important. I never learned much about anyone in the party, except the one I grew up with. I'm not a people person. I just wanted to optimize dungeon clearing time. *******Story Details******* No romance, politics, or traumatizing content, slice of life, or even dialogue. 1st person narration, like a guide/adventure log. 2000-7000 words a day, maybe 40-60% rpgish combat log with some reasoning on combat decisions, with the rest character Talent discussion and progression stuff. 8 person party with a decent variety in roles. Party members usually have 2 primary functions. Told from the support/control Chronomancer's perspective. Each party member will have 6 Basic/Background Traits, then 3 actual Talents with abilities. Capstone from their Educational Institution, Arbritrary as a gift from the temples, and Aleatory which is decided at birth, revealed at 8, and activated after adulthood at 16. Aleatory Traits ignore requirements and are random why is why they are so important. They'll gain new Talents from finding Dungeons to consume in the *Wilds*. Mature dungeons in cities can provide *Challenges* to raise the Phase of a Talent, up to 3 times from 1 to 4. Each character will get to roughly 8 non-Trait Talents. Attributes come exclusive from Talents, are required by Talents, and provide various effects as well. I designed about 220 Talents with abilities, 4 in each of 4 phases. "Traits" are just Attribute stuff. I'm not sure how many will be detailed in the story, more than 100 for sure. I used Talents because I want to be free of the legacy of tabletop. Half those rules are just because of the limitations inherent in a pre-computer ttrpg. This story mostly uses combat Talents, although like 1/3 of the 220 are for crafting and other society and economy stuff. If you really wanted to be a Thief you might take Intuition, Awarness, and Might for Basic Traits and Deftness, Manipulation, and Trickery for Family/Education. Then you'd pick Acrobatics, and Climbing for Educational Capstone and Arbitrary traits. You Aleatory Trait might be Shadow(Light/Dark) Magic, Umbramancy. A Bard might swap Dexterity for Charisma, Music for Acrobatics, and have gotten Illusion(Shadow/Sound(Air/Force)) for their Aleatory Trait.
