《MY Life In The Multiverse》Chapter 142: Meeting an acquaintance

That day, Shizue and the girls decided to go to the Tokyo summer land, a huge water-themed amusement park and the most popular one in Tokyo!
...
"Thankfully, you were the one sitting beside me, although I had to give up my window seat for it…" Said Yuki with an annoyed look on his face to Shizue who was smiling happily as she watched the changing scenery with squinted twinkling eyes…
Yuki wasn't from Japan so he also wanted to enjoy the scenery, but it was either this or having to sit with one of the creeps that tagged along with them…
Their leader, Maou, the biggest creep of them all was sitting with a girl god knows how many centuries younger than him… It was of course Chiho, his coworker and it was Yuki who decided to call her just to keep this demon lord in check.
However, he could only lament as Ashiya and Yurei sat behind him, and it simply gave him the creeps whenever he thought about their existence and the kind of curse they were going to plague him with just by existing…
Meanwhile, Emilia was sitting beside Mashiro, and pour Hanzo was left to fend for himself once more… In fact, it was a miracle that he was invited, and considering the looks Yurei and the demons kept sending him, they were clearly plotting something, and it wasn't going to end well for him that's for sure…
'I wonder if this poor fallen angel knows how hard I fucked his life upside down… guess we will all find out soon hehehe' thought Yuki, trying to suppress the evil smile that was trying to make its way into his face… Clearly, he couldn't wait to watch the show!
"Yuki, I just sensed a weird presence on the train… it's akin to a monster, but it seems… afraid" Spoke Shizue suddenly with furrowed brows after they approached a stop on their way but she was a professional and didn't look directly at the person she felt this from so as to not alert them.
Yuki blinked slightly, but he didn't receive a mission for it so he simply shrugged and said "Meh, don't care, and you shouldn't care either… this world is filled with weird things, maybe it's a ghoul-like the ones I told you about, maybe it's something, else who knows, what you should focus on is to have some fun"
Seeing the complete lack of interest from Yuki, Shizue wasn't insulted as she instead felt more relaxed and decided to heed his advice and enjoy her time instead of worrying constantly… After all, she was smart and she could read between the lines… The reason Yuki isn't bothered is that they were a group of 'monsters' themselves, with the exception of Chiho and Mashiro who were monsters in terms of cuteness only, especially Mashiro…

Meanwhile, at the back of the train's cabin where they were all sitting was a girl wearing glasses and had short purple hair and purple eyes to complement it, In short, she was a beauty, but the look of absolute terror when she stared at the white-haired man sitting not far from her ruined that beauty, and that look only increased when she noticed that man staring at her with his eerie green eyes before he smirked and turned away…
'NO, did he notice me? How? I didn't show any hostility toward him… what should I do now? Should I run or wait until the train stops at the next station?' Countless thoughts raced through Rize's head, as a few horrifying memories of what happened between her and this man surfaced, and even though his appearance was completely different than she knew him to be, she could easily recognize him from his smell, oh that god-awful horrible smell…
"Rize-san, are you okay?" Asked the young man that was sitting beside Rize and she finally remembered that she wasn't alone so she did her best to recollect her bearings and said "It's nothing, Kaneki-kun, I just felt faint-headed for a second that's all"
Ken Kaneki, who had shortcut hair and an innocent-looking face had a worried look as he said "If you aren't feeling well, I can take you home, we can go out some other time…"
Rize shot Yuki a nervous look before she turned to Kaneki and said " Don't worry, I think I will be fine"
'What should I do now? Should I wait and hope that they will get out before us?' As Rize was thinking about this, she couldn't help but get reminded of how she happened to meet Kaneki and was interested in his innocence and how easy he was to manipulate… She met him at a coffee shop, and even though she wasn't interested in him romantically, she still found it a breath of fresh air and he helped her deal with the trauma that Yuki caused her regarding strangers.
Yet every time she had the thought of eating him, that hateful image would always resurface in her head like a ghost and she would be forced to resist her desires…
As Rize was deep in thought, she didn't notice that she was staring at Yuki frequently, and Kaneki eventually noticed this so after some hesitation, he mustered up his courage and said "Rize-san, is that man someone you know? Did he do something bad to you?"
Realizing her mistake, Rize immediately tried to play it cool and deny this as she said "what? No! Don't worry, I'm just feeling a bit unwell today that's all"
After a moment of silence, Kaneki suddenly stood up and said "I will see if he has any bad intentions toward you!"

"No, wait Kaneki" Rize tried to stop him but it was too late as Kaneki stood up too fast and went toward Yuki of all people…
…
Meanwhile, Yuki was enjoying his talk with Shizue… He wasn't surprised by her noticing Rize since he already did, after all, he could sense negative emotions, and the moment he sensed that they were related to him in some shape or form, he immediately turned to see what was going on only to end up finding that it was one of his old victims…
'Rize huh, how nostalgic, and that guy seems familiar… could it be that his fate isn't going to change despite what I did to her?' Wondered Yuki, but he soon decided to ignore her after seeing the expression full of terror in her eyes.
However, someone else didn't appreciate his mercy and how lucky he was to avoid dealing with a devil (Asshole) like him and decided to approach him and that person was none other than Ken Kaneki, someone who can become a terrifying ghoul if his fate stays the same, although he was no more than a timid young man right now…
"Excuse me sir, can I talk to you for a second?" Asked Kaneki after walking up to Yuki's side, and before Yuki could even do anything, Kaneki felt the hair all over his body standing up as he was stared at from every possible direction, and three of those stares were from demons as he could have felt worse if they weren't restraining themselves...
'What's wrong with these people?' Wondered Kaneki as he could see the clear glee on the eyes of those men that seemed to accompany Yuki as if they were sure that a good show was about to start!
Yuki stared at the timid guy that was clearly trying to put up a front and he could see from the corner of his eyes that Rize was panicking more and more and she seemed prepared to jump off the train at any moment!
"Sure, how can I help you?" Replied Yuki with a friendly smile that surprised Kaneki, and he was even more surprised as he noticed the innocent Shizue staring at him curiously
'Maybe he isn't a bad guy and I'm just overthinking things… right?' Thought Kaneki as he started to think that he was acting recklessly so he embarrassedly asked
"My companion seemed distressed when she stared at you? I wonder if you know her?"
"Your companion?" Yuki stared at Rize causing her to tense even more before he tilted his head and said with a straight face "No, never seen her, maybe she's mistaking me for someone else"
"Oh, I see…" Kaneki rubbed the back of his head in embarrassment not knowing that Yuki lies for nothing without care, he can even lie about his name to his parents without feeling any shame! but Emilia suddenly turned around and caught sight of Rize and she immediately exclaimed "Oh, it's you! are you following me once more?"
Emilia immediately stood up and entered a defensive pose shocking everyone in the cabin and Kaneki couldn't help but think 'This guy is a liar, I can't trust him' before he turned to Yuki and said "Why would you lie to me?"
However, at this moment Rize couldn't stand still and decided to approach them and solve the situation peacefully
Yuki noticed how happy the demons were seeing him called a liar so he directly activated his talk no Jutsu and said "Listen man… Actually, as my friend here said, that girl over there stalked us once and we got into a terrible argument because of it… that's why my friend is reacting this way… Your companion probably feels guilty about it which is why she's acting strange... right?"
"Is that true Rize-san?" Asked Kaneki doubtfully
Rize froze slightly before she quickly said "That's right, we had a little misunderstanding and I was worried that it would repeat itself which is why I got nervous"
'Oh, how good at hiding her emotions, although the negativity emanating from you can't hide from me and these devils who are devouring it greedily…'
"A misunderstanding huh? I guess Rize-san is such a good person to actually feel guilty just from this"
'Eh, what's with this shy face? Is he sick or something?' Wondered Yuki finding it absurd how Kaneki would come to such a conclusion after all he said so he couldn't help but shoot Ashiya a look that said 'What the hell creep lord? Do you understand what's happening here?' and Ashiya took a long stare at Kaneki before he replied 'Is this what they call 'innocent', or is it just stupid?'
Meanwhile, Maou was thinking something else completely as his eyes shined with an invisible light 'So this is the ghoul that almost killed Emilia huh… should I kill her?'
Rize felt a shill out of nowhere but she couldn't pinpoint the source of the danger she was feeling. However, Maou's gaze suddenly drifted to Kaneki and he noticed how madly in love he appeared so he stopped thinking coldly…
If only she knew just what kind of group she was surrounded with and how close she is to dying… Rize would have regretted her decision to attack Emilia and Yuki even more deeply…

A Sky of Star and Strength
Jake was just an intelligent kid living a pretty regular life in Mill Creek, Washington. Then the apocalypse happens. Now with his Dad out of the country and totally in yet out his element, this is his story. My take on a system apocalypse based around "life force" as a currency. The main character will have a special power (as will most of the other characters) and be rather OP, you have been warned. Like many of the authors on this site I have no formal writing experience so writing tips and grammar corrections are much appreciated :)

Into The Fray
In a war-ridden world where metaphysical powers are the norm, Alma Gustafsson, a defect with no abilities whatsoever, stood at the top of it. An elite captain with a tactical mind, capable of fighting the invading forces with utmost efficiency and discipline, amplified by an immeasurable amount of sheer dedication. This mission was supposed to be a standard one. Get behind enemy lines, kill the metal puppets, destroy the flying fortress, escape with body and life intact. To be the first one to stare at the eyes of their true enemy was surprising enough, and dying was already a sharp reminder of what she is: A defect that has no place in the battlefield. But somehow, meeting an old man in the middle of the forest was more important to her than the events that transpired. “Your grit is one of a kind, girly. I need that.” Said the old man, giving her a chance to go back out there and fight once more. It was a stupid offer, making her choose between eternal happiness of heaven and the meaningless fighting that she has done all those years. However, she never took herself as a smart person. And as she embarks on a journey to protect her world, she will find herself at a crossroad that will determine the fate of the universe...

Midthalion Saga
+++Working on new chapters. Share what I've posted with your friends and family! Be sure to build strong bonds with those who are important to you. We only have each other in this world for so long!+++ Can Roderick XXIII gather together and train a party of adventurers to clear out Madeon Caves and bring peace to the wildmarches of Midthalion? Sent from his home monastery in the west to the wildmarches of Midthalion, Roderick the Holy Avenger is devoted to living out his oath to bring the Holy Light to the dark corners of the world. He enlists the help of an old friend, Ulrich Vogelbrandt the dwarf druid, to train and prepare a fighting force capable of defending the west from the evil they both see gathering and growing in the east. Eoroth is an ode to Tolkienesque epic fantasy, Robert E Howard and H.P. Lovecraft's pulp fiction, and Gygaxian Dungeons & Dragons. I like to write about serious topics because I think it's fun. I hope it makes for a fun read. Place: Eoroth, a vast, flat world with many continents set in oceans that reach out and mingle with the Celestial Sea. Our story takes place on the continent of Thalion in the middle, unsettled region called Midthalion. Peoples: Races in Eoroth aren't different species; the species of man is just incredibly diverse, consisting of many known races (and perhaps some unknown). There are no humans in Thalion. Thalion's races include variations of elves, dwarves, halflings (billowits), pierros (clownish men), bergeracs (long-nosed and swarthy men of honour), orcs, trolls, goblins, and hobgobs. The Church: There's one dominant religion in Westhalion. The faith of the elves is an analogue to Roman Catholicism while the dwarves practice an Eastern Orthodox analogue. (Forgive me for not having figured out names yet.) The practitioners worship a triune god (the All-Father, Son-of-All, and Holy Light). There are many powers in heaven, all created by God. These include the Twelve High Thrones, individual, created beings who take on the role of guiding mankind in different aspects, drawing them closer and closer to God. (That should be the essentials. I could write pages on the theology. Comment where something's unclear in the story.) Natural World: There are plants and animals in Eoroth, but the world is also inhabited by spirits called aeons. Aeons are transformative beings; in the wild, they'll change based on whatever is happening nearby. Pollute a pond? Expect to see toxic toad-men running around. Leave a bunch of dead bodies strewn across a battlefield? Expect the place to become haunted with ghouls and ghasts. Druids are important for making sure that the aeons are pacified; that their needs are met so that they don't become rampaging monsters. Where the wilderness becomes overgrown, so too do the aeons. Aeons and People: Long ago, men learned how to trap aeons in stone tablets and use them for war. Now, anyone can capture an aeon into a special staff made by a druid. Men train, raise, and bond with these aeons. Druids often build entire ranches devoted to raising healthy aeons as allies and companions. Aeons are divided into twelve known families, and the church sees these as corresponding with the Twelve Thrones in Heaven. Direction: My goal is to get the story to one million words by June next year. I have tons of content in mind for the world. I want to release novels set in different ages of the world depicting different historical events. I hope to expand the setting into a tabletop role-playing game as well as a series of old-school JRPGs. But, it all begins with writing some stories and publishing my novels.
