[Aura of corruption (8/10): An active ability that once used consumes 240 of the host's mana per second while dealing 64+ 25% of your magic value in a radius of 21 meters. Cooldown : -]
Yuki smiled wickedly as he read the description of this skill. He found out after doing some testing of this ability on various monsters that the damage dealt is somehow calculated in a way where the health of a normal human should be around 100… Although the place attacked matters a lot in terms of the amount of damage sustained and it could get higher or lower.
But having a base damage of 64 like this means that a normal human will definitely die in 2 seconds after landing in the current aura of corruption… And if the percentage of his magic is added… He was dealing more than 300 damage consistently every second…
Those orcs were way stronger than normal humans, however, one thing they lacked because of their strong starvation is vitality… so despite their strength being +70. Their vitality was a measly 15 at most…
Meaning that with his current aura of destruction, 5 seconds was all Yuki needed to evaporate these orcs without him needing to do anything!
As for the mana consumption, he had 10000 mana and a strong natural regeneration thanks to his magic core…
…
Staring at the orcs slowly melting as they approach him and they couldn't even walk properly even after only spending 2 seconds in his aura of corruption made him smile with glee as a terrifying aura gushed from him… His strength never came from his abilities… His strength came from his wickedness when he fought his enemies!
And then, Yuki dragged his tired body that was slowly recovering through the horde of orcs leaving a trail of maimed bodies behind him…
…
Up in the sky, Rimuru had just arrived and was surprised by Yuki's weak condition "What's going on with Yuki?" he muttered then he fell from the sky and approached Souei for answers
Souei frowned slightly before he responded "I don't know, his body suddenly got significantly weaker before he rushed to face the orcs on his own… and I couldn't interfere with the situation"
"What do you mean—" Asked Rimuru but just as he did, Shizue and Benimaru and the rest of the Kijin arrived as well and when Shizue noticed Yuki's situation, she immediately tried to rush at him and get him out of there…
However, the moment she moved in his direction, a gold barrier appeared in front of her and blocked her way and she couldn't break through it no matter how many flames she used or physical attacks…
Rimuru was startled by this and asked in his head 'Great sage, what's that barrier'
[Analyzing… Can't analyze. Reattempt… FAILURE FAILURE REAT— FAILURE]
Countless notifications sounded inside of Rimuru that almost drove him crazy as he yelled 'Stop, just stop'
And great sage suddenly fell silent, Rimuru marveled at the golden barrier blocking Shizue and when he tried to attack an orc around Yuki's location, he also met with a similar barrier and when he tried to use predator on it, it didn't work at all
'What the hell is this thing, both predator and great sage don't work on it… I need to find a way to help Yuki, he's not in a normal state and he's heading toward the orc lord's location… This is bad' Thought Rimuru as he kept trying many ways to help along with Shizue and the Kijin…
….
The battlefield between lizardmen and orcs soon came to a halt as the orcs started to feel a terrible sense of dread as they stared at the walking white-haired man and the trail of bodies he left behind him…
Even the Majin that was manipulating the orc lord started shivering slightly before he suddenly realized something and ordered the orc lord to issue a new order
"Throw your weapons at him from a distance, don't let him get near you"
The orcs lord instantly issued the order and soon after, the orcs started throwing their axes and various weapons at Yuki creating a huge rain of steel that fell directly on top of him… Some of them clearly went through his body! And they created a huge cloud of dust…
"YUKIIII" Yelled Shizue as she attacked the golden barrier even more madly but it didn't have any effect and she kept watching the weapons falling on the location where Yuki was located and soon enough even his aura started fading…
Tears fell from beneath her mask as she witnessed this scene and the Kijin felt the same way along with Rimuru but great sage that fell silent after failing its task suddenly spoke [Detected very minuscule aura that resembles the individual Yuki]
Rimuru's face brightened and he turned to his subordinates hurriedly "Don't worry guys, Yuki can't be beaten so easily"
Shizue removed her mask and wiped out her tears before she observed the dust cloud more intently and she noticed that orcs were still falling down at the same pace which perplexed her… but then the cloud dispersed and Yuki's unchanged body appeared from it adorned with the same eerie smile as he muttered to himself "Didn't expect I still had this card up my sleeve huh?"
This was phantom phasing! A skill that enabled him the ability to go through all material things. So, these weapons they threw at him simply went through his body, just like how he goes through walls when he wants to steal!
All the while, his aura of corruption was still active as he marched through the clustered army of orcs…
"I-I-Is he a ghost?" Asked Gobta with a pale face to Benimaru hoping to get scolded for his stupidity but Benimaru had a similarly pale face as he replied "I-I-I'm not s-sure"

'EEEEEEH Is he scared' thought Gobta while staring in shock at Benimaru and noticed that the two of them weren't the only ones…
….
Meanwhile, watching this fight from far away was a mage from the sorcerer's dynasty Sarion "Now we have evidence that he indeed has an ability to infiltrate… Let's see how you deal with the repercussions of your actions… That's if you survive this mess" muttered the elf mage as she recorded the scene to report the situation later.
A certain white ice dragon that was planning to test Yuki watched this happening in disappointment before she left 'How weak… although that golden light is interesting, it can even block me…'
…
After this slight pause, the war between the lizardmen and the orcs resumed and the lizardmen that were led with Gabiru on the front lines suddenly found themselves in front of none other than the orc lord Geld and his orc generals!
'This is bad, I can't hope to defeat this monster or the other three orcs beside him' He thought before he noticed Gelmud standing beside the orc disaster and yelled "Gelmud-sama, Please help us deal with the orc lord"
Gelmud who was a masked Majin paused slightly before he laughed at him and said mockingly "HAHAHA why would I ruin my own plans! Die so that he can quickly evolve into a demon lord"
Then Gabiru watched as Gelmud conjured a blood-red ball of explosive magic and sent it his way to kill him only to end up getting saved by his three loyal followers
"Tch, everyone keeps messing with my plans, first that ghost and now these weaklings" said Gelmud in annoyance before he conjured a huge ball of flame that then split off into many smaller balls and launched at them at Gabiru
"Gelmud-sama—" yelled Gabiru, in disbelief at the person that named him, now trying to kill him and feed him to the orc lord but at the last second, he was saved by Rimuru who arrived at the scene along with the Kijin after seeing that they couldn't help Yuki and he was heading here either way…
Gelmud was surprised by his attack getting blocked easily by Rimuru while Gabiru stared at Rimuru's back in shock that turned into gratitude after he gave him some healing potions for his followers…
Meanwhile, Yuki who was still some distance away noticed what was going on and he felt his heart shaking slightly 'Don't tell me these idiots are going to let him evolve into the orc disaster for their fucking plot? I need to hurry up or I will truly be fucked this time'
"Rimuru! Don't let him evolve" Yelled Yuki at the top of his voice, but Gelmud simply laughed at him and walked beside the orc lord and tapped him "Nobody can stop us any longer, today the orc lord shall evolve no matter what!"
Hearing the words 'no matter what' triggered something inside of the orc disaster's mind as he picked the Majin that named him by the head and directly bit off his neck before he began consuming him quickly
"NOOOOO" Echoed Yuki's yell from the distance while Rimuru heard inside his head [ The orc lord Geld is evolving into a demon lord…. Evolution successful into Orc disaster]
"He actually evolved from eating the one that named him… and he's equivalent to a demon lord right now… I need to do something about this or he will truly turn into a disaster" said Rimuru and Shion immediately acted when she heard him and attacked the orc lord with her giant sword who quickly reacted to block with a butcher knife. However, before their attacks could even connect, a golden barrier blocked her attack as Yuki rushed in their direction as fast as he could while deactivating his aura of corruption since he just killed his 10000th orc…
"You idiots, didn't I tell you to not let him evolve? Now I have to deal with him on my own while I'm still in this weak state" Yelled Yuki at them which took them by surprise as they started to get worried especially as they sensed the terrifying aura of this orc disaster
"Are you serious? What's this golden barrier?" Asked Rimuru and Yuki stared at him coldly before he threw a few axes at him and the rest of them with the full intent to kill them but he said instead "Leave, I need to use my aura of corruption if I want to have even a chance to survive this… winning it is probably way out of the question… Oh and do me a favor and take every single living being nearby away from here including those orc generals"
"S-sure" replied Rimuru while dodging a pitchfork that was aimed at his heart before he and the Kijin started following his orders and cleared the area as Yuki was left faced with the giant orc disaster that was at least three times his size and he couldn't help but say "Can we talk this through?"
But the only answer he got was a fast swing of the orc's butcher knife that almost split him in half like the ground it landed on where it created a deep ravine
Yuki swallowed deeply and muttered with confidence "As I expected!"
If he dies, at least they will remember him as being smart is what he believed… Although he will mostly be remembered as a thief and a ghost that's for sure…

The Afterlife, And How To Survive It (Barely)
Larry Foulery's monotonous, directionless life changed drastically, when he got shot in the face. Reincarnated into a new world, where he has nothing to lose and everything to gain, and with the honor and dedication of an part-time fast food cashier, he is ready to face this adventure. Kinda. The story takes place in the cynical world of Afterlife, where status screens and are considered normal, and the rule of physics cry in a corner, because nobody cares about them, and they are alone and lonely, and their family hasn't called them in years. Anyways, have fun. BTW don't stare too long into the story cover. I get the feeling it stares back. I'm trying to improve my writing, so feel free to bombard me with criticism.

Thief of Time
[Participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Book 1: The Legend of Tot Synopsis: Claud Primus, a self-declared master thief, has a simple goal. To live forever. It's a rather easy task, for miraculous objects called lifestones are able to extend one's lifespan. These lifestones are best found in the treasuries of nobles, lovely resorts that Claud pays a visit to every so often. Unfortunately, one of those nightly visits go awry, and Claud is forced to escape with just a single lifestone and a box in hand. Normally, that's when things die down. The guards yawn, the gates close, and the night continues. But this time, the night isn't that forgiving. A dozen schemes result in the murder of someone important, and with a convenient scapegoat — Claud — at hand, it doesn't take long for him to be framed as a heinous criminal, wanted for the indirect murder of someone high up...and it just gets worse from there. Book 2: The Moon Lords' Rise Synopsis: As ordered chaos sweeps across Licencia, Claud leaves for Julan Barony, intent on making some profits there. Accompanied by the erstwhile heiress of Julan, a fellow member of the Moon Lords, the two plot against the barony's wealth...as well as a promise to bring about its downfall. Meanwhile, back home, the Moon Lords have busied themselves with digesting their gains. Eyes, however, are beginning to turn to this proverbial fish in a small pond. The fishermen are coming. When they cast their hook, what will Dia and the others do? Book 3: Murders under the Moons Synopsis: In the sleepy town of Nachtville, where Claud and Lily are forced to stop at, a set of nasty murders occurs. Victims scream out in fright, before a spear falls from the sky to end their suffering. Cowed and cautious, the master thief and his partner slink in the shadows, their objective that of home... A new task, however, has fallen on Dia. With a trusty helper at her side, she has to set off towards Nachtville itself, to solve the mystery Claud had abandoned. Faced with an enemy whose sole skillset is geared towards killing, how will they succeed? And what dark secrets will they find? Book 4: In the Dark of the Moons Synopsis: The year has ended. The four months of the full moons will soon be followed by two months of the new moons. Duke Istrel's ascension is around the corner. Amidst this political upheaval, Count Nightfall, Licencia's strongest defender, has been called away. The Moon Lords' largest task yet — to protect Licencia in the absence of its ruler — has begun. And yet, trouble is unrelenting. A distinguished personage, one that Claud fears, has been found dead in the county, his brains dug out and his body disemboweled. The inquisitors of the White Church have been dispatched to investigate and apprehend the murderer...as well as the person behind this puppet. Tormented by a call to fight, Claud directs his eyes out of the city, looking for the puppetmaster. Skulking in the shadows, the master thief will soon confront his greatest foe yet. A foe just like him. Book 5: Moonlit Tides and Darkened Seas Synopsis: A new era has begun. For the privileged, the sands of time dribble away for every passing moment, counting down to the arrival of a entity of mythical proportions. The night now harbours shadows and fog, and operatives of the Moons and the Dark clash in shadow. Claud, as usual, is investigating a spate of nasty disappearances in the city, but little does he know what these disappearances truly mean. And yet, a tide is coming. When it finally breaks, what will he do? Book 6: Secrets in Shadow Synopsis: The person behind a strike that would enter the annals of history flees his home, bringing with him the person closest to his heart into a new land and into a new world. Having left Istrel for the first time in his life, the two of them attempt to settle down in foreign lands, only to be caught in the middle of hostilities between two mighty powers grappling for dominion. Yet, none of that has anything to do with him. Following his desires, Claud eventually makes his way to the fabled Celestia Ruins, a fragment of another world. Bearing witness to truths he cannot yet comprehend, he returns from his exploration, a small break away from the machinations of destiny. One thing, however, is for certain. Destiny will not wait for him. Book 7: Reddest Rage Synopsis: Destiny churns on, heedless of mortal machinations, and Claud watches as the battlegrounds between the Moons and the Dark are drawn up. With the forces of the great Dark occupying Lostfon, Claud comes to a startling realisation — that he may have very well be a murderer of heinous proportions. Grappling with that realisation, he struggles to prepare for his Second Tutorial... Back in Istrel, Dia finds herself confronted with a perennial truth. Even in a time of writhing destiny, the machinations between nobles never cease to end — and unfortunately for her, the group once known as the Moon Lords are forced into dealing with a petty squabble between two counts. What they didn't account for, however, was the startling discovery they would soon make... And the shadow of the Red God's Holy Son behind it all. Book 8: Darkness Descends Synopsis: Nightmares haunt the horizon as Claud sinks and awakens from a seeming dream. What was once illusory begins to play out before him, in a way he cannot imagine. Dia, forced to wield arms, begins and ends a battle that opens her eyes to the vast dangers that lurk in this sundered world. Under the banner of humanity and divinity, she beholds the silent, forgotten protectors of Orb...but there is no forgetting the battle between the divinities. The Dark descends, the Moons writhe, and the horns of war blow once more. But this is not their battle. Not yet. Book 9: Moons Muster Synopsis: As more and more events fall into place, Claud finds himself desperate. Not for himself, but for the person who has turned into his world. Armed with the knowledge of a certain future, he approaches the only person that could possibly help him in his time of need, trading information for a promise of help. With that as solace, he returns to the grim task of understanding and seeking, revisiting an ancient, shattered fragment of another world...unleashing changes that he never knew was possible. Back in Istrel, Dia and the others must now navigate around a familiar spirit, who seeks to investigate the death of his master's Bearer. With them as prime suspects, the Seekers of Life must move carefully...but the Coloured Gods are not the only divinities eyeing them closely. The Moons, bristling from repeated defeats, are looking for new recruits, and the Seekers of Life are prime cannon fodder. Above all, destiny marches on, the unfeeling clock a warning to all. The Trial of Aeons will soon arrive. Book 10: Destiny Divine Synopsis: ??? Release frequency: one every few days or something, I guess.
