"Have some food first, you are probably hungry" Said Yuki with a smile but Hinata completely ignored his friendly gesture as she flicked her hand putting a barrier on their surroundings, and said "I want an answer, do you know who broke the true dragon Veldora from his seal or not"
"Yuki-sama…" Muttered Sacha worriedly while Kayle had an unreadable look on his eyes when he stared at Hinata…
"Yes I do know who broke his seal" Said Yuki while staring straight at Hinata's eyes before he said "But I won't tell you their identity"
Hinata's eyes flickered slightly before she drew her sword, but before she could do anything, a person broke through her barrier and stepped in front of her, it was Shizue who said "Hinata, Yuki isn't a bad person"
Hinata was shocked slightly but she still put her sword into its sheath and asked "How can you be sure after all the chaos he caused inside the auction"
Shizue turned around and stared at Yuki who turned back to eating his food after noticing that Yurei almost pulled one on him and ate it all by himself and she couldn't help but faintly smile and said to Hinata "He saved my life, plus I'm sure you two don't think he's a bad person"
Hinata's eyes kept flickering with calculations, but knowing Shizue's current condition, she didn't want to force an answer out of Yuki with her around so she let out a sigh and said "Fine, I will trust your judgement" before she turned around and left… Although whether that was the truth or not, Yuki knew very well that it was most likely the latter…
"Shizue-san, sit down and have some food with us" Said Yuki and Shizue nodded at him and removed her mask showing a beautiful and youthful face under her mask "Thank you for saving my life" She said while bowing slightly and returning the clarity stone back to him..;
Yuki was surprised that she didn't greed for his stone despite it being able to help her 'This girl is truly a hero…' Thought Yuki, but a system notification soon appeared in front of him ruining his mood
[Not everyone are greedy fucks like you]
'Fuck off' Thought Yuki before he said "You also saved me inside the auction, so let's just call it even"
Shizue shook her head at this, she knew clearly that Yuki wasn't in any kind of danger… Then she sat down and observed his companions, and they all appeared normal except for the ghost looking kid beside him that appeared to resemble Yuki and she couldn't help but ask curiously "Yuki-san, is this your little brother?"
After all, it was rare to see siblings both summoned to this world, but Yuki simply shot Yurei a glance and said "Nah, he's just a ghost"
Yurei gave him the middle finger and thought 'Said the guy that possessed my body, you have no right to call me a ghost you bastard'
Shizue smiled awkwardly at the tension between the two and turned her attention to her food until Yuki asked her suddenly "By the way, what are you doing here? I heard that you were publicly retired from being an adventurer no?"

Shizue paused slightly before she said "The grandmaster wanted me to observe the results of the auction…"
'The grandmaster? She's probably referring to the leader of the free guild Yuuki…'
"I see, but I think he should have sent someone else, your body's condition isn't optimal…" said Yuki and Shizue smiled faintly at him and said "It's fine as long as I don't push myself too much"
"Well yea, that's the problem, you are probably going to push yourself seeing how you recklessly act when you try to help people" scolded Yuki slightly and Shizue had an awkward laugh with an embarrassed look since Yuki hit the nail right on the head…
"Oy Yuki, stop flirting with this girl, Emilia and Mashiro will kill you if they hear about this—" said Yurei but he quickly received a slap on the head from Yuki.
"I'm not flirting you idiot" said Yuki as he thought 'How can you understand the feeling of meeting characters from a work of fiction…'
Meanwhile, Sacha glared at Yuki and asked him who are the girls that Yurei mentioned and he ended up explaining his situation back home with a helpless look on his face… Of course, while omitting that his neighbors were demons and Emilia was a hero… and all the while Shizue had a smile on her face and appeared to be enjoying herself as Yuki and Yurei kept fighting all the time…
'It seems like the people around him like him a lot… My judgment wasn't wrong, although he's a little bit greedy' thought Shizue, not knowing that his neighbors would heavily disagree with her thoughts…
"By the way Yuki-kun, are you really close to Leon Cromwell?" asked Shizue suddenly which grabbed Yuki's attention as he nodded at her and said "Yes, he's my buddy"
'No, he's not' thought Kayle but he didn't say it out loud…
"C-can I ask you for a favor?" said Shizue hesitantly and Yuki couldn't help but curiously tilt his head "Let's hear it first". Yuki's motto was to never say yes without a detailed explanation no matter what!
Hearing this, Shizue began telling Yuki about the summoned kids she was currently teaching at the free academy and their magicules issue that would kill them if not solved quickly and how Leon solved her won problem…
"Well, I don't think you need Leon's help for this… no I have a better solution for it but now is not the right time… mmm Visit me at the great Jura forest in a two weeks' time, and you will achieve what you want"
'Two weeks, I can keep going until then…' Thought Shizue before she nodded at Yuki and thanked him in advance while Yuki's eyes grew slightly absentminded after receiving a notification

[Quest Task: Save Shizue Izawa from her lifelong suffering and grant her another chance in life]
[Quest Reward: Loyal servant]
[Quest punishment: Lose one random ability]
[Quest note: Save this poor girl that has only 1 month more to live and be a good person once in your life…]
'It seems like my presence in this world is going to change quite a lot… But who cares' thought Yuki with a fearless smile before he stared at Shizue until he made her uncomfortable 'Why didn't Yuuki save her? No, why she herself didn't seek help for her condition? I know that Hinata's being manipulated by Yuuki, but what if Shizue is also the same…' Yuki's eyes slowly turned cold at the thought of the man that might become his enemy before they turned back to normal and he said to Shizue
"Keep this for now" as he handed her the clarity stone…
"No, how can I accept such a thing… Plus you went through a lot to get it" She already guessed that Yuki stole it from the Doran kingdom testifying just how much he wanted it, but now he was actually giving it to her
'Dumb girl just take it, I don't want you dying on me from someone farting near you' he thought before he said "No I insist, we are going to meet again anyways so don't worry…"
"I… Thank you" Said Shizue with a warm smile that brightened the whole inn before Yurei butted in and ruined the atmosphere "Poor girl, don't be tricked by this evil bastard" but he only got another slap to the head that made Shizue giggle…
****
They spent the knight inside the inn, and unsurprisingly some idiots tried to assassinate Yuki in his sleep, which turned it into a bloody knight since this was the first time Yuki ever killed humans and he felt terrible after doing it… especially since he had multiple attackers creating a huge pile of bodies to the point that he ended up puking and asked the more experienced Shizue to get rid of them…
"I hate this feeling" muttered Yuki who despite all of this didn't allow Yurei to kill anyone since he thought he was only 16 and was too young for such a thing and he spent the rest of the night with them to find some comfort...
'I can't believe this's Yuki-sama's first time killing people' thought Kayle with an absentminded look as if he was recalling some sad memories of his own while Sacha had a worried look on her eyes as she kept trying to comfort Yuki… In the end, that night went without sleep for all of them as Yurei kept staring at the distressed Yuki with clenched fists before he left silently…
....
The next day, Yuki overcame those feelings thanks to his strong will... From the start, he didn't feel any guilt anyways since those people were trying to kill him, but the thought of killing humans simply felt too heavy on his heart…
However, his face soon was engulfed with deep regret, and Shizue who just exited her room and saw him like that couldn't help but approached him and said warmly while holding his tightly clenched hand "Yuki-kun, it's not your fault, this is the kind of world you live now, you should get used to it…"
But the words that escaped Yuki's mouth made her freeze in place since she didn't expect it at all as he said "Nah, I'm just regretting the fact that we didn't loot their bodies before you got rid of them…"
'What was I worried about?' thought Shizue with a helpless smile on her face as she took back her hand awkwardly before Yurei appeared from out of nowhere with a smirk on his face and a bag on his back as he said "You don't have to worry about that…"
Yuki stared in shock at the bag filled with items from the assassins that tried to kill him yesterday, and it had even their underwear! Yurei didn't leave them anything at all just as he taught him...
A tear of pride almost fell from Yuki's eyes "Yurei, you are my best friend from now on" Said Yuki as he tried to give Yurei a hug but Yurei immediately dodged away hurriedly. "Tch" snorted Yuki in disappointment
"Hey, I can hear that" yelled Yurei bringing a smile to Yuki's face as he patted his head gently and said "Good job" which brought a smile to Yurei's face.
'This kid is actually trying to be useful even in such a situation, it seems like I really was blessed by lady luck for getting him as my servant… I wonder if Shizue will be the same' wondered Yuki happily and more determined than ever to save Shizue before they went together to enjoy breakfast and after they finished, Shizue bid them goodbye and left while saying that she can't leave the kids alone for too long or they might get bullied…
"She's nice…" Said Sacha and Yuki nodded in agreement before he said "We have to get going as well, I wanted to get some magic training here but now it seems impossible with the way my relation developed with Sarion…"said Yuki before he turned to Yurei and said "Yurei, you should go back for now and protect our fort from those demons!"
"Hai!" Said Yurei before Yuki sent him back with dimensional link, something he could do only because he was connected to him through the system…
"Now then, let's go, our destination is the country of spirits, Ulgrasia" said Yuki with a smile while shooting the beautiful capital of Sarion one last look unaware that a dark-haired girl was slowly following him…

It is mostly told from Aegis perspective however there are several times when a side character perspective of an event matters so I'll put it in. Btw the first volume is a bit spotty as I am a new writer and still trying to find my rhythm. I believe it picks up speed around chapter 13-16ish Release Schedule: 4 chapters a week Wed-Sat 7AM GMT -6 Chapter length between 2000-3500. Artifice: Iysinfyr
Nalulthyn is the young daughter of a duke that is one day asked for a favor. This favor involves the adopted daughter of the duke from a neighboring area. This girl has had a traumatic past and has closed herself off from the world completely and reacts violently when touched by anyone but her personal maid. The duke hopes that a girl close to the age of his adoptive daughter will be what she needs to recover, but things are never as easy as they seem. First is that this adopted daughter is a Terran, a rare being from a different world that has skin and hair as white as snow and an almost alien build. Second is that there is a power to this girl, one that makes her recovery all the more dangerous to Nalulthyn and perhaps beyond. Author's note: This is a soft reboot of Artifice: Tools of the Gods. As I wrote the other story years ago I felt it would be better to do this approach as my writing has changed and improved since then. For now only two characters will return though I might reintroduce others later in the story. Even though this has the gore tag, I don't plan on being excessive with it. Most chapters shouldn't have any. The only reason I have it is to be realistic with the descriptions.
