《MY Life In The Multiverse》Chapter 68: Selecting a fighting style!

'Why would I be targeted by the champion of the arena?' Yuki was perplexed by this thought, especially when the man concerned had more than 100 wins and Yuki was 1000% sure that he was not a normal human, plus his identity always remained mysterious since he also only fights with a mask on… so he asked Izaya "Do you have any idea why he's targeting me?"
Izaya shook his head "Unfortunately, the reason is not clear, I only found out about this because he was searching for a hitman so blatantly on the dark market"
Yuki grew eerily calm before he asked "What about the guy he hired this time? You said he was an assassin"
Izaya's smile grew twisted at this point and he was clearly enjoying himself "That's where things get interesting, no matter how much I tried to investigate this guy Ryushi, I only found out that he was a normal man that turned into an assassin only recently, and he had a complete profile… do you believe that?"
"Of course I don't" rebuked Yuki with a snort as the bad feeling he was having from that guy grew even more stronger…
"I figured that much… be careful out there, I just got your number and still didn't have my fun yet hehehe" said Izaya with a smirk causing a few veins to appear on Yuki's head as he tried to punch him but the latter easily dodged and run away to get a good spot to watch his match…
"This fucker, what kind of luck do I have to only attract shameless people…" said the most shameless one of them all as he went to the waiting room…
…
After a match between two normal humans happened, it was finally Yuki's turn as he entered the arena and it was immediately ignited with cheers as people started calling him by his unholy title, but it soon turned into boos when they saw the harmless-looking Ryushi
"Bring us a real fight!"
"This is not what we paid for"
"booooooo"
Screams like this kept echoing throughout the arena, but the announcer's voice soon drowned them as he started introducing both sides " Ladies and gentlemen, today we have two lucky fighters ready to test their luck! First, we have the lucky warrior Yuki! With an unblemished record of 9-0-0…"
After he finished introducing Yuki and his achievements, he started introducing Ryushi "I know everyone here doesn't think too highly of the smiling killer Ryushi, but his 2-0-0 record was earned against two martial art monsters! So, grab your seats, and get ready for CARNAGE!"
The announcer's hearty speech at the top of his voice considerably lessened the boos and the people started to get excited about the fight…
Meanwhile, as Yuki entered the arena, his eyes immediately crossed with Ryushi's, and the latter warmly smiled at him 'Oh shit, I'm fucked, this guy smiles just like Maou when he greets his customers, empty and robotic…'
Just as Yuki was observing Ryushi, the latter was doing the same 'Hmm, this kid is quite interesting to get this far with his malnourished body, is he really just lucky? but considering that someone like Kuro is interested in him, he must be strong…' Ryushi's smile couldn't help but widen slightly although it never reached his eyes... and once they were both inside the ring, the beginning of the fight was announced!

"Umm, how about we do this like civilized people?" said Yuki all of a sudden and Ryushi responded with the same smile still on his face "Sure, what do you suggest?"
"You see how weak I'm, how about you give me a handicap to make this fight fair, yup yup how about you don't use both of your legs!" said Yuki with a shameless look, barely hidden by his kitten mask and Ryushi froze slightly before letting out a chuckle
"Sorry but I can't agree to that, plus you are going to be dead soon and dead people shouldn't make requests" said Ryushi before he suddenly rushed at Yuki with a terrifying speed and punched him with his finger right at his eye…
If this stab lands on a normal human, Ryushi's finger would penetrate all the way to their brain killing that person immediately, but Yuki wasn't a normal human, and knowing that he couldn't hide his real strength, he immediately tilted his head to the side and sent a punch of his own at Ryushi's stomach using all of his strength and speed…
"Oh.." Yuki heard a whisper in his ear, as Ryushi quickly changed his attack as he barely dodged Yuki's punch by spinning his body and used this opportunity to attack with a spinning elbow.
'This is bad' thought the out of balance Yuki since he used too much force on his previous punch and the trajectory of Ryushi's elbow was perfectly calculated taking his lost balance into consideration to land right on his jaw…
But Yuki wasn't easy to deal with as well, he wasn't a completely unexperienced fighter and he knew that if you attack, you either leave a chance for yourself to dodge by keeping your balance or use a chain of attacks and defend by attacking, and this is what he did because just when the elbow was about to connect, he ducked down barely avoiding it and followed that by doing a front flip and kicked Ryushi from the air…
But despite the unexpected attack, Ryushi easily anticipated it and dodged backward and observed Yuki more closely 'Amazing, this kid could become terrifying if his body completely recovers from its current state, and even his techniques aren't that bad…'
Meanwhile, Yuki was having different thoughts 'What the hell? It's almost like he could read every single one of the movements I make, even such a crazy attack was easily dodged by him… This is no normal assassin, if we had weapons…' Yuki didn't want to imagine what this masterful guy could do with weapons if he was so deadly with his hands…
'I need to find a way to defeat him and without getting harmed at that to complete my mission… this is going to be hard, but not impossible' thought Yuki as he quickly concocted a plan in his head…
Meanwhile, Ryushi approached him again with his still harmless smile and attacked him again, the only reason Yuki didn't lose right away is that he was faster than Ryushi by around 10%, but the guy's skills and reaction speed were simply inhuman and it felt like he was fighting someone who had a counter to everything, so he had to act in an unexpected way, a supernatural way…
Ryushi again punched Yuki happily with his finger, but this time, Yuki punched him at the same time straight to his face. Yuki timed it so that both punches would land at the same time, but Ryushi was still having the same calm smile on his face as he was ready to dodge at the last second since he already had an estimate of Yuki's peak punching speed.

'I got you kid' thought Ryushi ready to eliminate his unhuman target, but suddenly out of nowhere, a force pushed against his hand causing it to deviate from its target and Ryushi couldn't help but widen his eyes at the unexpected situation, especially when the same thing happened again to his head when he tried to dodge Yuki's punch as he felt something holding it in place causing it to land squarely on him sending him flying through the arena before he smashed into the walls of the octagon and barely held on to his consciousness thanks to his extreme training.
'Impossible, what just happened, I didn't see anything touch me yet my movement was restricted, is he a psychic or was it some kind of magic?' countless thoughts went through Ryushi's head as Yuki slowly approached him and Ryushi's body instinctively moved to Yuki's surprised, he watched as Ryushi clapped in front of his face and he felt something weird, as if a shockwave went through his body, but his body of stone completely nullified it as he simply stared at Ryushi with a 'that fuck you doing look?' before he finished him off with another punch sending him flying again as he said "Good night"
While Ryushi was falling to the floor, he kept thinking 'I actually failed a mission…' before he became completely unconscious…
The audience was speechless since they didn't expect such an epic fight, but they were soon woken up by the announcer "WINNER... THE LUCKY WARRIOR YUKIIIIII!"
This time, they finally understood that he was no lucky person but a strong one instead, and they cheered him with an even bigger fervor "YUKI YUKI YUKI YUKI "
"This kid is a monster for sure" thought Izaya before he made his way to Yuki to collect his money while Kuro who was watching from the VIP room finally saw the true potential of Yuki and his eyes lit up in anticipation of fighting him one day… as for the money he wasted on hiring Ryushi, it meant nothing to him as long as he gets what he wants…
…
Back at the betting stand, Yuki was paid for both his contract with Ryushi and the arena as well as the bet he placed on himself, although he knew that he wasn't going to get another opportunity to bet on himself and he even started considering betting on his opponents and losing on purpose now that he completed his Quest…
Soon after he got paid, Izaya came out of his shadow like the petty guy he was and after some pestering, Yuki ended up paying him reluctantly…
"I'm always glad to do business with you Yuki-kun, oh and be careful of people wanting to research your brain, just a friendly reminder teehee" said Izaya with a clueless look…
'This bastard actually noticed what I did' thought Yuki in annoyance "Just don't sell me for them you little bastard and I will be just fine"
"Hahahaha, friends should trust each other a little more don't you think?" said Izaya but Yuki simply shooed him away as he started making his way back home "Who's your friend? I rather befriend demons than you…"
"That's hurtful… well see you around" said Izaya pretending to pout before he left with a smile on his face since he had a lot of fun today…
"Now then, let's accept my mission" muttered Yuki as he looked at the notification that appeared in front of him since he beat Ryushi before he stared at his surrounding for a little bit and went inside a random bathroom…
[Quest: Warrior's Glory (complete)]
[Host can choose to master any fighting style he wants]
As Yuki read this, a list of martial arts appeared in front of him
[Boxing, Muay Thai, Judo, Karate, Kung Fu, Jujutsu, Taekwondo…]
The list seemed never-ending, but Yuki noticed that there was nothing that uses supernatural powers which disappointed him slightly, but not by much since he had something in his mind before he even completed this mission.
'I want to Master the Mutsu Enmei-Ryu!' thought Yuki, this was a fighting style that existed in anime he watched a long time ago, and it was carved in his mind how incredible it was!
The Mutsu Enmei-Ryu is a legend and it's said that it's an invincible martial art created by the Mutsu clan, an unarmed style that allows the user to defeat any number of armed or unarmed opponents using incredible speed and strength.
[Request accepted, starting learning process… suitable talent detected- Minotaur talent, the learning process would be faster with additional benefits]
'Ugh' suddenly, Yuki felt like his whole body was burning, and sitting on the public toilet he couldn't help but wince in pain as he watched a bar that appeared in front of him slowly increase…
[1%, 2%, 3%...]
It increased by 1% every 5 seconds, and Yuki started regretting accepting this reward here and ended up asking the system 'What's going on? Why is my body burning like this?'
[Host, learning a martial art requires muscle memory that takes countless hours of practice, and the host chose one of the most difficult fighting styles to master! Plus your minotaur talent that increases the effectiveness of your training by 300% was triggered which is why the pain you are feeling is increased, but so are the rewards at the end!]
Hearing this, Yuki kept cursing the system that didn't tell him about this beforehand as he kept wincing in pain… After a few minutes of torture, a man with a bandaged face entered the bathroom, and if Yuki saw him, he would have immediately recognized him as none other than Ryushi…
Ryushi stared at himself in the mirror while still finding it ridiculous that he lost, especially his last sneak attack that should have paralyzed his opponent that was an extremely advanced assassination technique… but then he was distracted from his thoughts as he heard a faint sound from one of the stalls behind him "UGHHH"
'Hmm, is someone giving birth in there?' this was the first thought that came to Ryushi's mind when he heard this sound, but he didn't care since it wasn't his business and went to take a shit on the stall next to it instead since he was having a constipation…
